Daiv Letterman drummer Anton Fig played on the album and Anton knew the band from playing on Ace Frehley's solo album and had a band on the same label ('Casablanca') as Kiss did. That band's name was 'Spyder', I believe.
That was a fun reaction! Thanks, y'all
Lifelong KISS fan here, this was a huge departure for them at the time, and many of us 70’s kids were like, “…wtf is this?!?” It’s dated now, but as always you guys emphasize the critical listening and the fun. Great vid!
God dammit! It was a bad idea to watch this while at work on lunch break. I've been doo doo doo-ing and whistling this song in the warehouse and I can't stop!
Loved this video. Absolutely spot on! This song rules! That said, my favorite song from Kiss is Domino. That song absolutely ROCKS!
Love Gun 🤘
Love kiss … and love lost in Vegas. Always entertaining rockin with u guys lol
Ryan is always having the best time 😂😂😂
I was like 10 y/o and we were stationed in Exmouth WA when a new kid from the states turned me on to KISS, this was the first song I heard from them......I never stopped loving this song......
You need to hear KISS' live version of their song I Still Love You. What a performance.
Yes!! The Unplugged version is the best vocal performance I’ve ever heard in my life!!
I lived though these days, from classic rock, to disco, to 80s. Lots of people did not like it or complained that its not another black diamond, but I always liked it. I know a lot of people that always liked it. if you were alive then hard core disco was really really bad. This song was a breath of fresh air, for the disco scene. Lots of bands added some disco sound to their playing, just like lots of bands went into 80s big hair, and into rock ballads ..... This is a classic Kiss song.
Love this whole album. It fuckin works. Check out Dirty Livin' or I sure know something.
I really enjoyed this reaction. Grew up a KISS fan and just love to see other people's thoughts
This is Kiss in their ABBA phase.
This is my favorite KISS song but I like quite a few and their 1974 album KISS, has some great early stuff
Also, this reaction was one of your best yet. You were both having so much fun!
They deliberately and cynically made this song to mock Disco and it ended up being a #1 hit
I was 10 when this came out. I had it on 8-track. I played the shit out of it. I still like the song.
Pure schlock. Kiss was always cheezy as hell. Gene was at least honest when he said that his goal wasn't to built a band but to built a BRAND.
My uncle used to make some of Paul Stanley’s guitars! Dope reaction!
What you said at the end says it all about kiss. They are an entertaining band, they made their money making sure their fans got their moneys worth.
You wanted the best you got the best!
They're to music like WWE is to sports.
@@dani4ever Fake?
The sweetest 4 bars of lead break that ever existed. Perfection !! And I still have the album I purchased in 1980.These guys were massive here in Australia
Their love ballad "Beth" is awesome!! This was their answer to the haters saying they couldnt do a disco song!
Agree - React the Beth!!!
Well technically they couldnt, if i remember correct, it was a bunch of studio musicians who got hired to write a disco rock song for Kiss and gvie them full rights to the song in exchange for a bag of money. Pretty sure Paul only wrote the lyrics.
No ballads please! 👎
@@Vakaria-playsthat's what most popular bands were doing back then. So much of that era was the same group of session players.
@@Vakaria-plays This was written by Paul Stanley, Vini Poncia and Desmond Child.
this song shows the power of disco at its peak. everyone either loved it or secretly liked it, and nobody could resist putting out a disco-influenced song. KISS, Queen, the Rolling Stones... everyone did it.
Hard Luck Woman.... Is Awesome Too! 💋
I was going to suggest it myself.
Ryan and my man George keeping it real once again. Great analysis and honest reactions like this comes when you're a free thinker and I salute you guys!
This song has been a stable in my life for over 40 years. Weddings, birthday parties, graduation parties, new years eve, my kids confirmation parties... Doesn't matter, we always we gotta rock out and do the do do do do....to I Was Made like it's 1979 again
I have always WANTED to hate this song... But it sucks you in 😂
From the point of a 7th-8th grader, when it was first released, this was the song you wanted to dance to at the school dance! This was a serious skating rink song! What I mean is... if you look at it from the perspective of when it was released, it was gold. Cheesy gold. 😊
The next track on the record ( a cover of the Rolling Stones' "2000 Man") is totally 🔥🚀🧨
What I've always loved about this song were the deep lyrics.
This is the song - then lp - that made me the fan i am today. Seen them a few times and loved it. They had some really good songs on that lp. Whenever i hear one in the radio - it goes full blast
Kiss’s DiSCO song! 4 on the floor!!! Most of the hardcore Kiss fans HATE this song, now for myself, I am not a Kiss fan and I LOVE this song! Long live Disco!! 🪩 🎶🔥
When this first came out, I loved it and went and bought the album. I still like it to this day.
This is one of those songs that's just fun to listen to. Is it their best song? No, I dont think anybody would say so. But it's fun. They were legendary for their stage shows and pyro, and in it's day this was a killer at the roller rink.
First time you hear it, you're overwhelmed by cheesiness, the second time around it's grooving, the third time you're hooked af - especially with the "cha!" part.
Not a Kiss fan at all. Neither is any of my family. Had a lockdown wedding with only immediate family and this was included on my wife and I’s playlist. It was THE song that got everyone going nuts. Couldn’t believe my eyes but was a great time.
We’re British and our weddings are usually wild. It went off when this song came on. Makes me smile thinking about it.
They had their critics , but these guys were jamming in the 70s and are still jamming now !! Not alot of bands that can still say that. 🤘
