The reason you get hurt knuckles on the bag is because the padding has probably gone soft because you've had them for years. No way that a Ringside glove can keep it's padding through years of use for bagwork plus sparring
So shane, this is a question i've been meaning to ask you: In one of my playfight spars i do with my school friends, we got ourselves into a couple of scenarios. one was when somebody gets you in a rear-neck chokehold. Ive tried alot of things against it but nothing seemed to work (except elbowing their ribs) Mind making a video on this?
Torque heavy bag gloves are meant to be amazing, Joe Rogan recommends them, he says they're the best gloves he's ever used next to Hayabusa, and he says he's tried a lot of gloves. Not speaking from experience here but Joe Rogan loves the Torque gloves.
idk why everyone here is hating on joe rogan, but if I had all the money in the world I would probably buy hayabusa gloves anyways. also wtf does he mean by "talks to demons"
tc4cfc Joe's right. I've had almost all the top gloves including Cletos, Winning, Triumph United Death Adders, Fairtex, Ring To Cage C-17, Venum, Hayabusa, etc. & the Torque Velocity gloves were amazing and very affordable! 👍
You only review the 2 brands you use. How does this help beginners when there are so many other brands out there? Rival, cleto reyes, twins, boon, top king, everlast, title, winning.. This should be titled differently. Other than that I do enjoy your other videos on this channel. Very informative and helpful.
I've been through Everlast, Ringside, Title, Reyes and recently Fairtex gloves and I must say Fairtex is my favorite. My only gripe would be that the hand compartment is a little too wide (hand moves around inside the glove) which is supposedly intentional but it's distracting to me. Reyes are supposedly the best gloves being made but I didn't quite like the hand compartment on them either lol. My Fairtex gloves (BGV1) have extremely solid velcro, a cuff that isn't too long, perfect padding and a great overall feel. If the inside was slightly less wide they would be a 10/10 imo.
having 2 pairs of gloves is the right way to go anyway. if you use 1 pair of gloves, the padding gets compressed faster if you use it on the heavybag. bag gloves should be 8-12 oz for avg person, sparring gloves are meant to have more protection so you dont mess up your gymmates (14-16oz), so have a separate one for sparring only, and the other for bag/pad drills.
Hi Shane I'm a 12 year ago old getting into Muay Thai. What is the best way to wrap my hands with 98" wrap , thanks Keep up the great work, your an inspiration
For anybody wondering about brands, i use a pair of cleto reyes velcro or "hook and loop" gloves. Out of all the gloves I've used these are the best with great wrist support. You can feel the punches because they're mexican style and thin, so after 1000 consecutive bag punches you may feel it in the knuckles. But no injuries. Btw, love your vids shane. Go fight tips!
Just bought a pair of tight fitting, genuine leather 14oz Fairtex gloves. Technically, they are Muay Tai gloves, but can be used for boxing. At $75, I think they are a great buy!
Yeah, I definitely want to promote the SSG, but while creating good, entertaining content. You should man, I love my red leather bag gloves! And it benefits a great cause.
***** The red bag gloves don't have attached thumb does this affect palm down hooks? I also wished that they'd go up to 16 oz, my current practicing (and sparring gloves). Looking into the SSG hybrids (14oz) for upgrading--duct-taping my bag gloves now-ha! -- If I started sparring again... will the gloves hold up to both bag and sparring for any length of time?
Thank you Shane for that advice it was very helpful but I'm left wondering about your Brown Boxing Gloves where were they? Also where did you get them from and what kind of review would you give them? Thank you for your videos they really help me and are encouragement and my training has come along really well since watching your videos.
Is it fine to use a boxing glove for kick boxing ? Really curious because i just got a new pair of boxing gloves and i used it for the kick boxing session i had that day and i noticed that my knuckles and bottom palm started to hurt ( note that I didn’t wrap my hands when i used the gloves) maybe if i wrapped my hands it’s wouldn’t hurt when i punch the bag, really need some consultation.
This video should not be used to decide what type of boxing glove to choose. Literally, so many better ones explaining the wide range of sizes, styles, uses, and brands. IMO you have to spend over 100 for quality gloves. I hope there are other boxers that can chime in.
So no Cleto Reyes,Sabas,Casanova ? In my opinion as a actual fighter are the best gloves for training and sparring. Also depends a lot on how you do your hand wraps for me I do em like a professional everytime I do my training/sparring so my hands are very comfortable and safe from any injuries. I suggest for a beginner to spend money on these type of gloves because will prevent any wrist injuries more than the ones you showing. I tried em one time and hurt my wrist so bad couldn’t use it my left are for almost two months kuz I was in so much pain from the glove bending when I punched and just fucked me up. Great channel but try doing better equipment. I know sometimes the prices are higher for better thing but trust me it’s worth.
I buy wraps and wear them under cheap gloves. They offer wrist support and feel really solid. Costs me about half what a pair of high quality gloves would.( I wouldn't mind spending, but as a kid I don't really have the money.
Is there any boxing gloves that provide extra protection for the knuckles? I have ligament damage in my knuckles and would rather not have more damage! Thanks in advance :)
Hey Shane I box and I'm good at fighting on the outside, but a huge weakness in my game is fighting on the inside. I was wondering if you could make a video on it.
Nice comparisson although I think it would have been better to test the gloves on wrapped hands. Also I would have liked to see some more mid-priced brands like Twins, Paffen sport, Everlast etc
I really appreciate the information in this video, however, the only issue I have is the selling point about the gloves donating to St. Jude's, they're a for-profit organization that only gives 30% of it's received donations to actual research while the organization keeps 70% for themselves. The CEO has an annual salary of $900,000. I know, I am a lot of fun at parties and I'm not knocking the quality of the gloves, I just feel like there are way better non-profit charities to donate to.
So I have been a fan of Venum fightgear since I have been using MMA gloves, boxing gloves and fightwear in general. The MMA Gloves are so sturdily build and stitched that (and I shit you not) can werestand the impact of a nylon made practice sword welt by a profound user. (so you KNOW these badboys can take a punch) The Thai gloves I use, which are the Elite's and soon I'll have a spare pair for sparring with some friends when I'll be co-trainer at a martial arts gym of my current master (who won't be able to teach us anymore for reasons I can't tell) so my thing will be stand-up game in sports-edition, ground work sports-edition and we'll have 2 other teacher teaching self defense for street purpose and takedown/balance offense and defense. What I will teach my students is probably take a glove that feels natural. I mostly buy my stuff from the internet after I tried them out in the shop or at a friends because they are way cheaper online (but still watch out, malificit websites are all around us, if you see a trademarked website with a seal of quality that isn't a link, don't buy it at first and leave the website immediately for privacy reasons.) Are they going to take boxing classes? They will be having gloves designed for Boxing that feel natural, kickboxing, muay thai and MMA is the same bassically. Normally in gyms people would let you do a try-out with old, scruffy,l mostly damaged gloves that are under 40 bucks. I think this is morally unsafe, one try-out student at a time per lesson and they will use my spare gloves and spare wraps since then I KNOW they will be the safest. I do not condone using martial arts as a marketing tactic but simular to the idea a World of Warcraft fee works, you pay a little bit of the amount of the rent of the dojo, and what is left is only spend on either repairing/bettering the dojo and esspecially the classes themselves need to be good quality. Have any questions? Just ask because I know this could be long and boring and maybe a little bit too hard to really tie a nod too. Cheers!
I'd steer clear of the mid range Venum gloves, they fall apart after a couple of months. 2 pairs now. Not happy, Ive heard good things about Top King and Twins
i use lonsdale london red gloves i got from sports direct there abit like what and said like a pillow and are abit big however i can hit harder with them as there like a cushion and becuse there kinda hevey it increases power to my punches however i dont reccomend it for sparring the extra weight will be hard to hold up ur guard they put all the fat in the knuckles and not in the wrist so it can damage ur hands however i like them becuse there big and spacious allows my hands to breath lots of room and extra protection i go for the pillow gloves anyday.
When I went to my one and only muay thai lesson with my brother not too long ago I used the gym gloves without wraps. I was doing heavy bag and mitt work with my bro but I'm glad I didn't injure myself. :D I can't wait to sign up for it one day. Btw Shane, do you think I should learn boxing or muay thai?
can you talk about boxing bags like the banano or the classic one, and mention the best material and with what can you fill it so it could have the best conditions?
Hey Shane. I am boxing for a couple of years now, most of the times with TWINS gloves. I like them, but the thing is, my forearms are pretty slim. I can even fit a finger or two between my wrist and the velcro fastener. Should I just bandage my forearms more so it gets thicker there ? Regards!
Shane, Thanks for all the tips youve done, I have a question I'm hoping someone could help with. I'm a bigger guy, ex-powerlifter that is new to bagwork and new fan of boxing. I've been at it a good 4 months and really enjoy working out on the bags with my trainers. I was issued 16 0z gloves maybe because of my weight, however Although Im a big guy I have smaller hands. I would love to get smaller gloves so I can work on that pop. I'm finally getting my form down and stopped "pushing" the bags. All I do at this point is bag work and cardio, no sparring. But when I watch most videos they always indicate to go with weight when buying. I'm wanting a more snug fit and thought maybe a 12 or 14 oz glove could do that. So question is will getting a smaller ounce glove provide a smaller glove over all? Or is the "frame" of the glove the same size just the weight of the knuckle padding changed. Thank Yall for any help you can offer.
Hey shane i got the Venum Challenger 2.0 Boxing Glovess/16 oz. I use them for MMA. I haven't used them yet cause i broke my hand but they seem pretty cool & good. I bought them arround 60 euros. What is your opinnions? By the way very nice videos i love them
whats the difference between sparring gloves and bag gloves. im not looking to compete any time soon so id like to buy gloves that i can use on the bag and spar with people once i join a gym.
Hey Shane, I am thinking about getting the Sweet Science Boxing Elite Pro Gloves - Leather Black/Red 14 oz. I like that it goes to a good cause and I feel comfortable with the brand since you use them. Question, do you think these are alright for heavy bag, the mitts , (and the speed bag and double end if you use gloves for them. I am literally an amateur in this sport. I watch a lot of videos, do a lot of shadow boxing in my house, I like to train hard, and so just wondering if these are good. BTW im 18 if that matters, if your curious. ) Thanks and keep making good videos !!
for the first couple of years i boxed i didnt use any gloves for the heavy bag or pads!!! was this a mistake? will it lead to bad knuckle health in the future?
this should be pretty common sense but shane didnt mention it in the video....only get boxing gloves if you want to get into boxing. if not then just get regular MMA gloves they will do just fine and its important to feel that resistence when you punch or else when you get into a street fight you wont know what the hell is going on
Shane I'm 11 years old and when I hit the heavy bag I use gardening gloves because I saw a video that it says that it will help me like strengthen and condition my knuckles to be like marbles is it good for my knuckles
The reason you get hurt knuckles on the bag is because the padding has probably gone soft because you've had them for years. No way that a Ringside glove can keep it's padding through years of use for bagwork plus sparring
Avant Garde Style thats what he probably meant by compact 🤔. But he should’ve used a new pair if he didn’t
@@TonyMontana-vl9cf it hurts more when the padding is soft
Umm. I feel like you come up with these videos like a few months after when I really need them. Shane on you... 😑
Ah damn, sorry dude!
***** We forgive you Shane. JK
theT-dog "Shane on you" hahahaha nice :P
AHHHHHHHHHHHH I see what you did there.
I know I'll probably never use real boxing gloves but I am so fascinated about learning all this stuff! Great video!
You never know! Heavybag workouts are the BEST!
Everlast are like the best budget gloves imo, you can get a decent pair for $20-40 and they have great over all protection
Really! This video comes out the day AFTER I buynmy first pair!
Me too😊
So shane, this is a question i've been meaning to ask you: In one of my playfight spars i do with my school friends, we got ourselves into a couple of scenarios. one was when somebody gets you in a rear-neck chokehold. Yes!

tc4cfc Joe's right. I've had almost all the top gloves including Cletos, Winning, Triumph United Death Adders, Fairtex, Ring To Cage C-17, Venum, Hayabusa, etc. & the Torque Velocity gloves were amazing and very affordable! 👍
Shane I started watching you when you hit about 8,000 subscribers and your channel is growing fast!
You only review the 2 brands you use. How does this help beginners when there are so many other brands out there? Rival, cleto reyes, twins, boon, top king, everlast, title, winning.. This should be titled differently. Other than that I do enjoy your other videos on this channel. Very informative and helpful.
I bought a pair of Rivals... Man oh man are they an amazing glove for the price (around $130) legit professional glove.
Broxty you trim or box?
Rival is the best bro

Keep up the great work, your an inspiration
dont, you need WAY longer wraps, like 180" at least
What about using mma gloves on a heavy bag for knuckle condiitoning?
Hamza Kazi I punch the heavy bag with no gloves have done for about a years and my knuckles are solid now.
kieran clarke Your spelling is not solid....
Sorry I was in a rush and English is not my first language I still struggle with words that have the same meaning.
All good everyone makes mistakes
OK thanks for being understanding

FNS Thx for opinion ;) but which ones? Sparring or heavybag? ;)
FNS how fast is the shipping time
Just bought a pair of tight fitting, genuine leather 14oz Fairtex gloves. Technically, they are Muay Tai gloves, but can be used for boxing. At $75, I think they are a great buy!
I got some 16 oz Cleto reyes gloves I use for training and sparring. Quality glove. I've had them for a year and they still feel great.
I recently bought a bag glove from there and I recommend this glove but you have to punch into the glove to get used to it
Because of this guy I am no state champion absolutely nobody can beat me thanks so much Shane and I got the right gloves when i buy
I suggest you use leone. I fought 3 fights and felt very comfortable and confident
Shane, is the Venum Absolute 1.0 boxing gloves discontinued?
I want it so badly :'(
Looks like shameless advertising but I don't mind. Even considering buying the SSG gloves.
Yeah, I definitely want to promote the SSG, but while creating good, entertaining content. You should man, I love my red leather bag gloves! And it benefits a great cause.

Heavy weight
Loving the amount of uploads

Ben Fridman which gloves should I get I dont compete just want to get better at fighting. Ill do work on a heavy bag/pad training and sparring
Is it ok to take supplements while you train or better to go all natural?
So no Cleto Reyes,Sabas,Casanova ? In my opinion as a actual fighter are the best gloves for training and sparring. Edgar Ramirez go slow and steady, depending on injury.

@ 3:49 did anyone else hear the Mario kart timer before a race starts going off?😂 might have been the timer at the gym

hey, I'm about 145lbs and 5'10 and I'm 16 years old, I just bought 16 oz everlasting pro training boxing gloves, did I choose the right ones?
The last gloves you shown are like mine but mine are Everlast
I got gloves with a bag lol and really broke my hand bad gloves I boxed as a teenager I'm 27 now wanted to train just for fitness
Shane can you do a video on picking head gear for may Thai and boxing
So I have been a fan of Venum fightgear since I have been using MMA gloves, boxing gloves and fightwear in general. Cheers!
I'd steer clear of the mid range Venum gloves, they fall apart after a couple of months. 2 pairs now. Not happy, Ive heard good things about Top King and Twins
I forgot you got dreads but they look really good tbh.
i use lonsdale london red gloves i got from sports direct there abit like what and said like a pillow and are abit big however i can hit harder with them as there like a cushion and becuse there kinda hevey it increases power to my punches however i dont reccomend it for sparring the extra weight will be hard to hold up ur guard they put all the fat in the knuckles and not in the wrist so it can damage ur hands however i like them becuse there big and spacious allows my hands to breath lots of room and extra protection i go for the pillow gloves anyday.
Do harder padded gloves do more damage than softer padded gloves? What's the best glove to do the most damage?
Shane, please could you do a video about shinguards as wel? The Domyos gloves are also really good.
Are Grant gloves worth the money you pay for them?
When I went to my one and only muay thai lesson with my brother not too long ago I used the gym gloves without wraps. I was doing heavy bag and mitt work with my bro but I'm glad I didn't injure myself. :D
I can't wait to sign up for it one day. Btw Shane, do you think I should learn boxing or muay thai?
The first few time putting on the imf gloves are hard af to put on by yourself before you break it in
Shane I challenge you to a street fight!
Shane is it better to use wrist weights for shadow boxing than those weighted gloves...
can you talk about boxing bags like the banano or the classic one, and mention the best material and with what can you fill it so it could have the best conditions?
Yokkao is a good brand too.
What about twins Kickboxing gloves, can I use that for heavy bag training?
So the Sweet Science gloves are just regular sparring or training gloves right? So you don't buy special bag gloves?
Nice video. Thanks for the boxing tips. Really help's me as I'm a beginner working extremely hard to one day go pro. I'm 14 btw.
this is probably a dumb question but are there curtain gloves for smaller hands or are they pretty much all around the same
Windy and PRO are pretty good.
Everlast Neverlasts.
Shane that was a great vídeo, what do you think about kings or Raja muay thai glooves?????
Hello dear sir.
I'm Rana Waqas from Pakistan.
I made the boxing product
I want get the order from your boxing center.
Thank you.
Would you recommend 10.oz or 14.oz gloves for someone who will mostly use the gloves for a heavy bag but will occasionally box a friend?
14
Hey Shane.
I am boxing for a couple of years now, most of the times with TWINS gloves. I like them, but the thing is, my forearms are pretty slim. I can even fit a finger or two between my wrist and the velcro fastener. Should I just bandage my forearms more so it gets thicker there ?
Regards!
nuXx try laced gloves. More support and more tight
Can you show us how to chose a headguard ?
How about a guide in choosing Muay Thai gloves? :)
Shane what do you put inside a heavybag
Shane, Thanks for all the tips youve done, I have a question I'm hoping someone could help with. I'm a bigger guy, ex-powerlifter that is new to bagwork and new fan of boxing. Great video shane, Those sweet science gloves look great. If only I can get a heavy bag in my apartment...
may I use boxing gloves instead of muay thai gloves?
Which size is best for hitting heavy bags 12oz or 14oz?
Would you recommend weighted gloves at all?
Shane Bro Do you use shin guards, and if so which brand which model ?
How are the sweet science gloves holding up?
I'm thirteen and I was looking at the sweetscience gloves, but I don't know if they would fit? What would you guys recommend?
Hey shane i got the Venum Challenger 2.0 Boxing Glovess/16 oz. I use them for MMA. I haven't used them yet cause i broke my hand but they seem pretty cool & good. I bought them arround 60 euros. What is your opinnions? By the way very nice videos i love them
I'm 13 5'4 what kind of glove should I wear for sparring
the ringisdes are $48 rn i know they are sparring gloves but will they do ok on the bag or will they go flat?
I know this is too late for you, but it may help others: Ringside makes bag gloves as well!
L. John so what brand you suggest?
whats the difference between sparring gloves and bag gloves. im not looking to compete any time soon so id like to buy gloves that i can use on the bag and spar with people once i join a gym.
Great video shane, and ant.. just what I was after
can you show us how you wrap your hands everyone does it different
(choosing the best heavy bag for you) can be a usefull information for ur martial arts comunity ^^
Hello, where can I buy the Sweet Science Boxing Gloves?
When I saw Ant hit the bag I asked my self “Did Ant Do Boxing”
Gabriel Joslyn he's a beginner like Shane said
for the first couple of years i boxed i didnt use any gloves for the heavy bag or pads!!! was this a mistake? will it lead to bad knuckle health in the future?
..brotherly love
+fightTIPS I'm just getting into boxing and I'm curious what oz of gloves I need for boxing. I weigh about 200 lbs and I am just over 6 feet tall.
Could you make a video about the best brands for MMA gloves?
this should be pretty common sense but shane didnt mention it in the video....only get boxing gloves if you want to get into boxing. if not then just get regular MMA gloves they will do just fine and its important to feel that resistence when you punch or else when you get into a street fight you wont know what the hell is going on
what about the hypnotic base training gloves you used in one of your videos? how do you like them?
Shane, what size are your white sweet science gloves in this video? 12oz or 14oz?
My budget is 50 to 70, which ones should I go for?
what do you think about heavier boxing gloves for training 18. oz thru 20oz or above even to build up speed and indurance
Love your vids shane
Daniel Poursasan Thanks man!
Shane I'm 11 years old and when I hit the heavy bag I use gardening gloves because I saw a video that it says that it will help me like strengthen and condition my knuckles to be like marbles is it good for my knuckles
