My friend! Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope this video helps people and makes everyone understand that boxing/combat sports are fun and even the equipment has its own unique factors to it!
@@combat_corp Great Video! I have a really great defensive glove from title boxing it's their classic pro fight gloves 10 oz and I also have two pairs of fighting pro fight gloves in 10 oz.
I see Dmitry Bivol use winnings for when he trains and Grant's when he fights. IMO it's smart that he uses more protective gloves for his training and switches to a different glove for his bouts.
This is most probably the best introduction when it comes to boxing gloves. I have a couple already and I knew there were differences, but I was ignorant. This video changed that. Thank you
As a very defensive counter puncher type boxer I always buy Mexican ( cleto , pro mex) or Thai gloves ( fairtex, windy) so I don’t need to put my all in every punch and can do my thing while still doing some damage at a comfortable pace
Pro Mex is cheap Title Boxing garbage just so you know. IRS made in China or something check it out. It’s just another on of their brands. If you like Mexican made, try Leaders Boxing USA. They have a real Mexican made line I have a pair of customs from them but you can get the same gloves for und see $200 as long as you like the colors available and their colors are out of this world to be honest.

Thank you my friend! I am so happy that you have found this video helpful and please recommend it to anyone you know that might be getting into any combat sport. If you have any requests, please let me know!
I have the Everlast Powerlock gloves and after 2 months of use I can say that they are incredibly poor when it comes to durability. the padding has worn out tremendously. they feel great, but they are not durable. In my case or opinion atleast. I really wanna try out cleto Reyes. Great video btw!
An absolutely brilliant breakdown. I'm pretty new to boxing, and had no idea that there were different styles of glove. This has been really helpful and educational. Thanks!
Just discovered your channel and man... This is some of the best and most thorough information on gloves that I've seen online. And you also reply to questions! Thank you for this huge contribution. 🥊
I buy cleto reyes before swe this video. If u have a weak hand and a hard punch this glove is not really convenient for you at all. When I train in the heavy bag my hand hurt me after the training. But if you wrap very good your hand you will be able to throw punches with a lot of power and not hurt you at all. What I am trying to say is, If you want a cleto Reyes for punching heavy bag with force that gloves is not the best option for you. I recommend the winning for that. Amazing video thanks
This is an amazing video, although I'm purely into boxing I subbed just because of how informative and well researched this video is. I have a newbie question thought; what do you think of the Venum elite glove? And under which category would you put it? Really great video !
Cleto Reyes uses horse hair for padding which protects the boxer but also increases your power punch, they are nicked name "the KO gloves" many hall of fames have used Cleto Reyes. recomended for fast agressive style like Julio Cesar Chavez or Many Paquiao. many times they tried to buy out the company and move it to another country to be more afforable but the owner Alfonso reyes the son does not want to compromised the quality and his father goal of making the best glove. hence why they dont do sponsorships either. meaning all top boxers buy the actual glove for its quality.
I would for sure say it would be a defensive glove because of how stiff the padding is and how big the glove itself is. It's so interesting because it has an extremely flat punching surface compared to others but the thickness of the padding is at least 3 inches. It's also very wide which makes me think it is a defensive glove. However the fight glove version from what I understand is 100 percent a punchers glove. So Everlast really through a whirl on the Elites. For sure my favorite glove released by them.
Great video! I have very brittle hands and knuckles and didn't even know i have been using mostly Mexican style/less padding gloves this whole time. Will be sure to invest in a pillow style glove
That was a good review. Thank you for posting. It would also be helpful to know which gloves have smaller and larger hand compartments and if the gloves are on weight. I wear a size large winter glove (US) and although I don't have heavyweight mitts I find many 16 oz gloves to be too small.
So that would be more of an issue of brand when it comes to any form of hand compartment size. A company like Reyes has roomy hand compartments, Everlast has tighter hand compartments, WInning is a form fit, Twins Special is tiny as is Fairtex, Top King. All of these companies make gloves specific ways. Which company 16 oz do you use?
@@combat_corp - thank you for your response. I tried the Reyes 16 oz velcro and loved the hand compartment which was a perfect fit. I also liked the feedback and quality of the glove but the long sleeve for the forearm was too tight to the point I couldn't turn my punches over with the velcro open as much as it could go (my forearms aren't that large btw). Maybe it was just that pair of gloves? The 16 oz Rival RS1 lace up fits but is still a little small. For reference I'm 6 ft tall, 180lbs. Would love to find a Cleto style glove that's comfortable. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
@@mtmatt6111 ive owned a few pairs of cletos but never had that feeling regarding the long/tight wrist supports....interesting. i don't remember if he mentioned top boxer gloves in this vid. I think they are the gold Infinity Gauntlet gloves by his right arm. That company is owned by a young guy out of Pakistan who apparently makes great stuff. You could tell him exactly what you need and they could be custom made to your specs. You can choose padding type, density and thickness. Type of wrist supports... everything. It should only cost the same as a pair of Cletos off the shelf, too. I plan on getting a pair from him in the future.
Video informed me on alot. I'm gonna be looking into ringside or grant. Picked boxing back up in quarantine so I'm mostly hitting the heavy bag, and I know I'll be taking shots going to a gym. Thank you!
I really like Top King! They make amazing products! Only issues with me and Top King (like other thai brands) my hands are TOO big for them soemtimes. So before I use them, I stuff towels or t shirts in them for a day so the inside stretches out.
Great video! I’m here again because Devin haney switched from grant to everlast elite pro and I’m trying to see how it could affect his fight this weekend🤔
i started with venom gloves, but it really depends which model you get. but you definitely want to invest some money into a pair of gloves because cheap gloves don’t provide wrist support and don’t have enough padding. which causes to injuries. id advise you to get “twins special” boxing gloves, its really a great starter gloves. hope this helps
@@brondellmedina4630 Thank you for assisting him! I agree! Twins are great, but I tell people Hayabusa s4s are designed for beginners but I always reccomend Ringside apex flash gloves. They are just perfect to me. Great knuckle protection, awesome wrist support as well.
Hey!! What an awesome channel dude. Great videos. I’m looking at buying a pair of Cleto Reyes in the near future. I’m just wondering, are they still able to open and catch shots like the defensive gloves? Thanks.
Hey I have a question. What type of gloves should I buy for sparring with my friend casually? I ask because we don’t want anyone hurt. Would it be a pillow glove?
Absolutely! Hayabusa actually won "Men's Health glove of 2019" because they determined the common exercise populus will go to that glove for basic exercise such as heavybag work! t3 is for sure in my top 5 favorite gloves
Kleh-toe would be the pronunciation. Short e sound. I finally got myself a set of Reyes gloves. I generally prefer Thai style gloves because they make it easier to do technical clinch work

I love doin this and I will continue to do it until it goes away (cough cough NEVER.) So a good puncher/pillow glove I'd recommend would be the Sabas Supersoft series. They are their Japanese style model BUT they have good snap and good pop to the punches. I would also say the Adidas Hyrbrid 300s are great for what you are searching for. You could also look into some Booster/Top Kings if you're a thai guy BUT top king's hand compartments are TIGHT
Nice video. Very helpful! But any ideas about types or brands of gloves for bigger hands? My fingertips are touching the end of the pocket in my 14oz Windys. I just hit the bag basically. Maybe light sparring with friends. Thanks again for the video.
I can do a review on those soon! They are actually pretty good. For sure a good puncher's glove and they do try and replicate Reyes as much as possible. The leather is a little softer and not as tough as the Reyes and it does not feel like a Reyes when you punch but the interior hand compartment is really soft and comfy though. Good knuckle support
Yes you can! However be cautious, high density foams will break down faster than most, I always recommend using softer gloves for mitts and sparring. Bag work can be harmful BUT yes you can use them and they will still last you a good 3 years or more with proper care!
Grant! for me I’d say grant and winning, winning for sparring and bag/pad work, lace only (better wrist support), and grant if you decide to do competitions (basically a cleto reyes, nice snap and hurts your opponent but actually able to protect your hands and top quality like winning.
Hey so I’m not a boxer I just watched the video to help pick gloves for sparring in my Taekwondo class, but I just wanted to ask. Do you guys do any hand conditioning drills? I also just recently started using gloves to hit the bag, I go full speed, full power and I’ve never once hurt my wrist or my hand punching anyone or anything. (Without gloves or wraps)
Dig the video very helpful! Just wondering about those Faitex camo gloves in the box. Is that Alex with the melon hat from clockwork orange? What model Faitex gloves are or were those?
That isn't the worst glove to pick! But they run about $40 and I would say get the Ringside Apex flash sparring gloves! All around my favorite glove to recommend for anyone at any level! They are amazing.
My reccomendation are the everlast powerlock 16oz gloves. They have 2 versions. One is a Synthetic leather and the other is a Genuine leather. Get the Genuine leather version, they are usually $90 but when they go on sale you can get them for around $65. If you want subscribe to my channel im going to make a video this coming weekend ranking 5 different gloves that ive owned at 5 different price points.

Here in the netherlands the everlast mx isn't available and the cleto reyes are a tad bit expensive for me. You know about any alternatives on the market? Again thanks for the info really learned something here
When it comes to women's boxing gloves, here are the favorites! For females in boxing they are: white (rivals boxing gloves), african (leone boxing gloves), mexican (cleto reyes boxing gloves), and asian (grant boxing gloves). These boxing brands work.
Holy cow that is an EXTREMELY hard question for me. Cleto Reyes and the t3 gloves are so close to a tie because I love both of them. My answer is go with t3s for everything. When it comes to excellent protection, comfort, durability, and performance...the t3 put simply is quite difficult to beat.
amazing video. I just started in the sport and got some hayabuza S4 (16oz) thinking essentially into protection. But i find them a little bit big, heavy and stiff. Wich size would you recommend ? or brand in that case. The reyes looks pretty confortable but i don't wanna get any injury.
What type of glove would I get if I intended on throwing a lot of heavy punches? I'm a fast hard hitter so I'm not sure what to get. Im not defensive in the ring I'm more offensive.
Thee Combat Corporation I want to add to your video I've tried sabas pro-style prime gloves and they are almost identical to grant From what I hear about the grant glove I feel like you could save money and get the same quality with the sabas
@@ColGales I have a pair of pro series and yes they are very similar! I should get a new pair though! The ones I have were limited edition but I ordered them as 16 oz and they came really small and felt like a 10 oz bag glove to me! Never weighed it but I really should! New sporting is a great route as well

When it comes to women's boxing gloves, here are the favorites! For females in boxing they are: white (rivals boxing gloves), african (leone boxing gloves), mexican (cleto reyes boxing gloves), and asian (grant boxing gloves). These boxing brands work.
great vid! what would you categorize Fly Superlace as?
Hi, would you recommend the cleto reyes extra padding or the hayabusa T3 for bag work and sparring?
Holy cow that is an EXTREMELY hard question for me. Cleto Reyes and the t3 gloves are so close to a tie because I love both of them. My answer is go with t3s for everything. When it comes to excellent protection, comfort, durability, and performance...the t3 put simply is quite difficult to beat.
@@combat_corp I see, thank you
Thank you for the info
What do you think about the Joya Thailand and twin gloves ? What kind of gloves are they?
amazing video.
Im not defensive in the ring I'm more offensive.
i really need this video thanks
Thank yoU!
New sporting is a great route as well
Hey man hell of a video I had a couple questions. Have you tried all the hayabusa superhero gloves. if so do you know if they are pretty much the same material because I was gonna buy the new hulk gloves
What gloves would you recommend for wrist support ? I hit pretty hard and always have problems with my wrists I’ve fractured my wrist twice and sprained it countless times
Solid content 👌
Have you tried Fly? They are fantastic for sparring.
My next big purchase! I wish they weren't so dang expensive lol
Thee Combat Corporation same. I bought the lace x sparring set as a post deployment present to myself. 😂
For the Winning is it the MS-500 or all Winning Gloves Pillow Gloves?
