The alternate universe scene is so cute but also the saddest fucking thing once you realize that it's just that - an alternate timeline that the heroes from the main game will never get to experience.

Your second and third gameplay reveal hidden cutscenes that give in a little more context to why, or how certain things develop. So, by its context, yes, this is an "existing" ending. One of many endings Class Zero had to face. One of which was PROBABLY total defeat.
I have to admit, I LOVED both endings of the game, and this one is obviously the most happy, but the original ending has more significance, more meaning, and I like it a little more than this alternate ending. Also, as for the epilogue, you guys...I think we've met a reincarnation of class Zero... Meet "Agito".

Final Fantasy Type-0 features two endings. The true ending involves Class Zero successfully defeating Cid Aulstyne and preventing Finis, the cataclysmic event that has always destroyed Orience each time the history of the world has repeated itself as the result of Arecia Al-Rashia's experiment to open Etro's Gate. Class Zero breaks the cycle of war with help of Rem and Machina, whose influence had not been included in previous cycles when Class Zero attempted to stop Finis. In response, Arecia allows Machina and Rem to remember Class Zero's sacrifice and rebuild Orience. This ending depicts each character living ordinary and happy lives under circumstances where wars have not occurred because the crystals have been removed from Orience's history.
Actually the second ending isnt actually an ending, its more like a "what if". Arecia did erase the crystals at the end of the game,but not from history,the events of the game were not rewritten, Orience continued from the point you left it,with Machina and Rem rebuilding society

His very allegiances and past is less known than the most mysterious and important character. He resides right in Kingdom Hearts and might be the one to end the world. Demyx is his new name.
The true Ending really made me tear-jerked, it's sad that they died... Square enix has trademarked type-1 and type-2 so we can assume that there will be two more games and that Tabata and his team will begin working on the next two games after Final Fantasy 15 releases
I like this ending too. School, love, confessing, mail, clubs, friendship, gossiping, and the only grieving is heartbroken. Rather than students died in battle and war.

Just because she removed the crystals from Orience doesn't mean they didn't have alternate worlds as back ups. Perhaps the last scene is from one of those alternates. Each world was set up differently in hopes that at least one of them would produce the desired results thus the appearance of Samurai Ace and a more feudal Japan type setting.
That’s exactly the point, it’s another “spiral” or in type-0 terminology another timeline of events where war wasn’t around. Where class 0 wasn’t a group of kids meant to fight in war. They’re just teenagers in this timeline.
This ending is definitely less sad, but I like the true ending too... though it was pretty crushig. (But hey, the intro with Izana was even worse, I think O_O) This game was an emotinal rollercoaster - I loved it ^^ By the way, I don't understand the hate Machina gets. Just as Machina was the commandant's puppet, Class 0 was Dr. Al-Rashia's puppet or the whole academy's. Why is being a puppet of them better than being a puppet of the other? I think the problem with Machina is that it is very difficult to understand him as a character if you didnt read the novel about the previous cycle of the spyral,for what you see in the game he is a brat

The KING the thing with"secret endings" on context of "Were making multiple games/movies/books that are interconnected" is the secret endings DO become the true. I still think XIII, Type-0/HD, and XV are interconnected. It's a long and tricky path, but I do lean towards what Final Fantasy Peasant is saying about XV and XIII trilogy, plus there had to be a reason they added this ending, I don't think this was ever in before the HD. Plus I do think we'll see another Type-0 game.
There's rumors that there will be a Type-NEXT but Square Unix has not realeased any information that they were going to take on the project but hopefully, when FF7 Remake is close to releasing we will get good news that this 'Ace' and FF Type-NEXT will be born*^* hopefully because the hype for it is already here.

Device Demon You need a second play through, complete the game again to the alternate ending route. You will get this ending and the arise teaser for the possible sequel if your playing HD, just watch out to the bad ending and you'll get this good ending.

one of the best Final Fantasies ive ever played, the game can only be truly appreciated on the psp platform. If this game was made on next gen consoles it would be hailed by everyone..

It really is one of the best FF games. It had a rocky start though, bombarding us with information, a large cast of protagonists with attitudes making it hard to sympathize with them. But, like with real people and the real world, it is in exploring this world and getting to know your comrades that you develope and feelibgs and understandment. Unfortunately MANY didnt play more than 20 hours, bot even passing chapter 3, and returned the game ir gave it bad reviews without giving it a chance. Can't stand gamers with the attention span of 3 year olds. But i do think, despute that, the game has succeeded and will continue to do so. I want that success to move them to develop Type Next!
Very sad ending to a great cast of characters, they at least got a happy life in the alternate ending or is it considered the true ending since it is in a different cycle? Seven and Sice being my favorite among class zero of course and the fact they get an accidental shipping is hilarious.

8 years later I'm here rewatching Ace's resurrection scene after seeing footage of Final Fantasy XVI. I think we're finally getting to see what could have been a sequel/what-if of Type-0 in the form of FFXVI
Lol I thought I was the only one who was reminded of type-0 as I was watching XVI gameplays. The whole dark and bloody setting and kingdoms having weapons of war in the form of l'cie/dominants. Not to mention the whole fire element being the main character's element.
Glad to see that I'm not the only one who noticed these details. Some of Ace's animations really remind me of Clive (holding the phoenix feather) and the phoenix tail (Joshua's phoenix tail whenever he's in battle). Really happy that the devs got the chance to portray these dark elements in FFXVI but would be even better if we did get some kind of glimpse into the Type-0 sequel..
My guess is that this is supposed to be the future they were all thinking about at the end. It felt weird considering just how lighthearted it was. The part with Seven cracked me up, though XD

LunaHavoc Ba'ul i can't stand him too the first time i played the game, but if you read the novel that told the events in the previous time loop, i think you'll understand why machina acted like he did in the game (or at least tolerate his actions). personally i think it's really sad how the feeling of the previous loop's machina, who wanted to be stronger so that he could protect his friends in class zero--so that no one will sacrifice their lives again for him, manifested wrongly and became twisted like in the game.

Just like this game got a console port. is the same way Crisis Core should get one. it makes no sense really. it was arguably the best game on psp along with god of war.
Genesis Rhapsodos Except Crisis Core was already localized. Final Fantasy Type-0 may have been a PSP game as well but the fact stands that it was never released anywhere near the western side. Had it been localized in the first place, it may not have ever received the HD treatment. Also, Crisis Core is more slower paced compared to Type-0 so it does make sense not to port it onto the console because most console gamers these days don't want a slow-paced game, look at Fire Emblem. Slow paces strategy game with Fire Emblem Awakening supposedly their last game but because it was a portable, it sold pretty well enough to continue the Fire Emblem series where if it was on console, it would have just died.
Acrisis Lizzy Bolero BUT it is part of FF VII so it will probably sell more than Final Fantasy Type-0... maybe. I'm not sure, it all comes down to crowd appeal and money so... meh . _ .

There is a sequel to this on mobile devices where everyone's alive and moved on to different classes (for instance, Eight is in Class 5), but so far it's still Japan-only. Not sure how it stands in canon either.
+Chris James the universe in the FF Agito (mobile game for Android and IOS) is a prequel about the 1st cycle of the orience universe. The cycle keeps resetting until the 600.000 something cycle where ff type -0 was in. for every cycle class zero always picked to be L'cie in the end thus making them Arecia's failed experiment and thus the world is destroyed and the cycle resets again (thats why if you picked to become l'cie in the end it will inevitably be a game over).

I'm pretty sure you get this secret ending by either doing a second game play of the game, or how I did it. I unlocked this ending and I'm guessing it's because I played as Ace basically all throughout the game, leveled him up the highest, and unlocked many achievements with him. Since I assume, I don't exactly know, that this is Ace in the samurai outfit, I would guess you need to play as him as much as possible in the game. This is just how I unlocked the secret ending.
The english dub is so bad it ruins the experience. Having played the original PSP Japanese version countless times, the Seyuus performance is light years beyond the american.
The HD version also has the japanese dub,for some reason people play it in english and then complain. Sorry but a game as japanese as this one should never be played in english dub,same with Xenoblade

The only thing I don't like about Type 0 is how there is literally nothing to do until ng+, almost everythign can only be done in ng+ or higher. I love the RTS missions but most of them are new game + only.

Pretty much this ace is the sameone from the canon ending of the game, where he has died and his soul along with the rest of class zero are reincarnated into a new reality to become that worlds saviors
Actually no. This Cycle is the very last cycle where Rem request to Arecia to reset the universe. Arecia was touched by the Class Zero's and Machina&Rem's determination. She reset they cycle but crystal never included, thus a world without actual war happen, there will be no Agito or War history. Thats why Moogle is only a keychain not a teacher.

Device Demon You need a second play through, complete the game again to the alternate ending route. You will get this ending and the arise teaser for the possible sequel if your playing HD, just watch out to the bad ending and you'll get this good ending.

Mutsuki is pretty young and Ace is one of the younger peeps in Class Zero that's the only reason I can think of

one of the best Final Fantasies ive ever played, the game can only be truly appreciated on the psp platform. If this game was made on next gen consoles it would be hailed by everyone..

It really is one of the best FF games. It had a rocky start though, bombarding us with information, a large cast of protagonists with attitudes making it hard to sympathize with them. But, like with real people and the real world, it is in exploring this world and getting to know your comrades that you develope and feelibgs and understandment. Unfortunately MANY didnt play more than 20 hours, bot even passing chapter 3, and returned the game ir gave it bad reviews without giving it a chance. Can't stand gamers with the attention span of 3 year olds. But i do think, despute that, the game has succeeded and will continue to do so. I want that success to move them to develop Type Next!

Im happy how the game originally ended with how they died as heroes and that history didnt forget them.
Very sad ending to a great cast of characters, they at least got a happy life in the alternate ending or is it considered the true ending since it is in a different cycle? Seven and Sice being my favorite among class zero of course and the fact they get an accidental shipping is hilarious.

8 years later I'm here rewatching Ace's resurrection scene after seeing footage of Final Fantasy XVI. I think we're finally getting to see what could have been a sequel/what-if of Type-0 in the form of FFXVI
Lol I thought I was the only one who was reminded of type-0 as I was watching XVI gameplays. The whole dark and bloody setting and kingdoms having weapons of war in the form of l'cie/dominants. Not to mention the whole fire element being the main character's element.
Glad to see that I'm not the only one who noticed these details.
Some of Ace's animations really remind me of Clive (holding the phoenix feather) and the phoenix tail (Joshua's phoenix tail whenever he's in battle).
Really happy that the devs got the chance to portray these dark elements in FFXVI but would be even better if we did get some kind of glimpse into the Type-0 sequel..
My guess is that this is supposed to be the future they were all thinking about at the end. It felt weird considering just how lighthearted it was. The part with Seven cracked me up, though XD

LunaHavoc Ba'ul I despised him throughout the whole of the game, until that last scene in the original ending. Then I gained some respect for him.
LunaHavoc Ba'ul i can't stand him too the first time i played the game, but if you read the novel that told the events in the previous time loop, i think you'll understand why machina acted like he did in the game (or at least tolerate his actions).
personally i think it's really sad how the feeling of the previous loop's machina, who wanted to be stronger so that he could protect his friends in class zero--so that no one will sacrifice their lives again for him, manifested wrongly and became twisted like in the game.

Just like this game got a console port. is the same way Crisis Core should get one. it makes no sense really. it was arguably the best game on psp along with god of war.
Genesis Rhapsodos console port is so much better than the psp version, just having better hardware is a huge upgrade.
Genesis Rhapsodos Except Crisis Core was already localized. Final Fantasy Type-0 may have been a PSP game as well but the fact stands that it was never released anywhere near the western side. Had it been localized in the first place, it may not have ever received the HD treatment. Also, Crisis Core is more slower paced compared to Type-0 so it does make sense not to port it onto the console because most console gamers these days don't want a slow-paced game, look at Fire Emblem. Slow paces strategy game with Fire Emblem Awakening supposedly their last game but because it was a portable, it sold pretty well enough to continue the Fire Emblem series where if it was on console, it would have just died.
Acrisis Lizzy Bolero BUT it is part of FF VII so it will probably sell more than Final Fantasy Type-0... maybe. I'm not sure, it all comes down to crowd appeal and money so... meh . _ .

There is a sequel to this on mobile devices where everyone's alive and moved on to different classes (for instance, Eight is in Class 5), but so far it's still Japan-only. Not sure how it stands in canon either.

+Chris James the universe in the FF Agito (mobile game for Android and IOS) is a prequel about the 1st cycle of the orience universe. The cycle keeps resetting until the 600.000 something cycle where ff type -0 was in. for every cycle class zero always picked to be L'cie in the end thus making them Arecia's failed experiment and thus the world is destroyed and the cycle resets again (thats why if you picked to become l'cie in the end it will inevitably be a game over).

I'm pretty sure you get this secret ending by either doing a second game play of the game, or how I did it. I unlocked this ending and I'm guessing it's because I played as Ace basically all throughout the game, leveled him up the highest, and unlocked many achievements with him. Since I assume, I don't exactly know, that this is Ace in the samurai outfit, I would guess you need to play as him as much as possible in the game. This is just how I unlocked the secret ending.

The english dub is so bad it ruins the experience. Having played the original PSP Japanese version countless times, the Seyuus performance is light years beyond the american.
The HD version also has the japanese dub,for some reason people play it in english and then complain. Sorry but a game as japanese as this one should never be played in english dub,same with Xenoblade

The only thing I don't like about Type 0 is how there is literally nothing to do until ng+, almost everythign can only be done in ng+ or higher. I love the RTS missions but most of them are new game + only.

Anne Wagner it is an alternate world, one without the war. but I think to imply from that that the world KS still in that spiral/loop of war. Only, now it is without the crystals.

Actually no. This Cycle is the very last cycle where Rem request to Arecia to reset the universe. Arecia was touched by the Class Zero's and Machina&Rem's determination. She reset they cycle but crystal never included, thus a world without actual war happen, there will be no Agito or War history.

What does the resurrected samurai ace mean? Is it a foreshadowing of class zeros return. Is he the only one who was resurrected? So confused.
