i love the XG+ . we had the demo unit lent to us from DAF and its like night and day. our fleet is mostly CF and a XF but fingers crossed we are getting the XD next year maybe a couple of XF thrown in. But those cameras aren't my cup of tea I wasn't all that confident with them while hooked to the trailer so I was waiting for my fellow truckers to flash me in but near the end you get used to them but I'd say give me a conventional mirror any day.

    • @johnsharkey1980

Daf’s aren’t my cup of tea to be honest…the cameras are more problems to add to the bad crankcase ventilation design and constant low fuel pressure and brake warnings…Daf’s are shite people buy them cos they’re cheap and don’t have much of a waiting list at any given time.

You also have to have extra type training to be able to drive it just because of the cameras. There are newer drivers than me who have been type trained meanwhile I haven't yet been type trained on it. Had about 20 of them at my old gaff and within 15000km they need there injectors changing or they need a bunch of injector cleaner running through them. They're filled up either at the yard or when they're on the road so fuel quality ain't the issue.

Cams instead of mirrors are a huge "NO NO"! They are not safe at all; no eye contact with other drivers howsoever! It should be illegal

Not a fan of cameras for mirrors. When technology is in the equation, theres always something that can go wrong. If i told my dispatcher i cant make the load on time because my camera mirrors arent working, theyd laugh and tell me to get rid of that crap. Traditional mirrors dont fail, unless someone deliberately breaks it. Its fool proof!

I just with they would put the cammirror arms on the doors just below the window... So that you could see them.. cant see them up there... Bad for places with tight squeeses

Beaut truck, even better with mirrors. Those mercedes cameras are dangerous in the rain, visibility 0, hard to believe they ever passed a safety check.

I have one question. How do I get one in the USA? I really wish we still got cabover trucks, and that is a really nice one.

How do those camera mirrors work?
    Do you like them.
They're still experimenting with them in North America. I still miss the old west coast mirrors with a spot mirror top and bottom
Can i get a cameramirror setup like that.
I run tipper dumps and like the top mirror so i can see the bed top out without hitting the roof of the shed we dump in.
