😲I thought I was seeing a ghost or a stun gun hit me!!Then when i saw that big pot of Rosemary plant[my favorite] sitting by wood and screen.... WoW!!! "screen door" is finally completed !!!... and I'm still recovering from the shock man..!!.. Welcome Back!👍👋🖑🖐🖑🖐👋👋
Two months! We had to wait two months for the conclusion! But oh man, was worth it. It looks...SOO GOOD. And the door knocker is great. Congrats. We love your channel, and your creativity, Uncle George - keep rockin :))))
Very beautiful! I can't wait to show my hubby! He will love this!! You are very smart and a joy to watch! I hope I can meet your wife one day. I just subscribed in another video of yours.
I love your sense of humor! You make my day. I also found out the hard way that you can't sew through sticky velcro. I think we probably should have seen that problem coming, but well..... Maybe you'll have to sew the screen to regular velcro and glue that velcro to your surface. The screen door is gorgeous. I bet it's quite the conversation starter.
Yes on both points, Kelly! I guess I made a tuition payment at Velcro University... and almost everyone who looks at the screen door does a double take and many come over to ask what the heck..
A two pineapple drink! The big Kahuna of cocktails. Yum!! I used fine aluminum mesh from the Depot for my no-seeums. At $17 - $30 for insect screens for Class C vents, that was such a ripoff. The aluminum mesh can be shaped easily over every vent such as furnace, Fridge, water heater, etc. Wonderful complement to the window mesh for interiors. Beautiful door, simply lovely! Matches that curve so well. What a fun person you are, George. Always something cooking in your brain. I'd love to be your neighbor and watch you work. Pity I'm on the west coast.
Looks beautiful, very professional! That wood door adds class to the entrance. And I love the plant stand, he he! I used a fine aluminum mesh for all the vents in my RV. Its very cheap ($5 /roll) at Home Depot, and stiffer than window screening, so you can press it around furnace vents, fridge large vent, water heater area, etc. Saved a lot by not buying the ready made ones at $17 each!
Dude, love your style. You come up with some great ideas. I was wondering how you'd pull that door off tastefully, and had some doubts - but you knocked it out of the park. Great job!
Now see, your comment just sears right into my soul. I so appreciate your support and the fact that there is a mental dialog going on over these ideas and videos. Thank you, thank you.
... by the way I like the design at the bottom of the screen door and would compliment the counter top "curvy end" by using 3-2×4 "vertically of the perimeter" for the screen to secure a finished style. Just my imagination looking.
Have you thought of using small rare earth magnets instead of Velcro? Neodymium magnets are incredibly strong for their size and can be embedded in the wood flush. They look like tiny metal blank buttons and have a great finish.
I have considered magnets in several of the projects I am working on. In particular, I think they would work well as a closure system for this screen door. Rather than a single handle latch in the middle, I could embed your magnets at 3 points along the swinging door edge for a nice tight closure. Great minds think alike, eh? ;-)
Your work is amazing. Your ideas are incredibly awesome. I love how you think out of the box. You are a classic classy diva camping man. Onward to the next trip and building adventures.
George, I do not say much but I really appreciate your way of going about everything. I was run down by a car and something like your craftsmanship and personality is what I need in my life on the other side of the imaginary line in the sand the "government" calls the border LOL. You are the best.
if you're using velcro with a sticky back, you will have all sorts of problems sewing it. If you find velcro that doesn't stick on, you will be able to sew it. the glue gunks up the needle and causes problems. hope this helps. your door looks beautiful. Also you want to put a fresh needle into your machine
Looks awesome! And works great, nothing like the natural air flowing around! So good to take unfinished projects on the road to iron the bugs out so to speak😄 Hmm Velcro indeed a wonder of the modern age. Thanks look forward to more!
Looks fantastic, classy like the rest of your build! Just a comment regarding your difficulty attempting to sew the screen to the Velcro.....You didn't say if the Velcro was the self adhesive type or not. If it was the sticky kind, the adhesive was the culprit. It will bind up the needle and mess up the timing of the machine. Use the non sticky type found at fabric stores, a jeans weight needle, and heavier thread. But your alternative, framing out the screen to allow more of the wood to show, sounds great! Good luck and wave to us as you pass Orlando! Stay safe, and take care!
OMG! I LOVE THIS! Some people might see this beautiful screen door and want to hire you to make them one too! WOW, beautiful, and I LOVE the door knocker!!! GREAT! Traveling Mercies to you and G-d bless!
Thanks for the video, great fun and patient craftsmanship, good to know there is a battle against the no-see-ums that one can win! Fantastik Fan vent awaits. Once more unto the breech... :-)
