I wanna buy it...
Best van build I've ever seen, glad to see you're happy after 4 years of living in it. Made me laugh when you busted out that 365, I'm wearing mine right now, they're great guns.
Did you find a buyer cuz I might be interested
5th Kie... 2 serious buyers so far, both agreed to $15K
@@OutdoorsEmbrace oof yeah that’s out of my price range :V
You saved a lot in rent in those 4 years and along the way collected more memories than most people will make in 40 years. Salute to Big White and the spirit of going your own way.
100% thank you!
Don't forget property taxes
living in a van isnt as cheap as people think.
@@Zesmas it definitely can be, depending on the person. Living in a van gives you the ability to live for way cheaper. The pivot points are at gas usage and how much you drive (...more than if you were in a house?), food should be the same, rent is completely gone from equation optimally speaking, hotspot data, and insurance.
The biggest difference then would be gas. If you get antsy in van life, it's easier to just drive to avoid bordom. So it can be more expensive. But if you lived exactly like you do inside of a house, then vanlife is way cheaper. Even RV insurance on my van is 1/10th the yearly cost I ever spend on a normal car insurance.
@@Zesmas Yeah tell that to my peeps in Los Angeles where a regular studio can cost you $1800 a month…the van it is imho lol
If I was alone I’d definitely do something like this. ✊🏽👍🏽
This dude is living life intelligently and fun. I feel like this is the kind of mentality you need to be a space explorer or something. His van is like his ship and he’s just travelin through the cosmos having fun.
Epic!
Truly epic 👌🏻
Beautifully said man
Are we cool with conversation here or do we all have to say how awesome this is?
@@chrisreynolds2410 worship me
This is, hands down, the best van build I've seen ever since I started to watch the occasional van build about 4 years ago.
Having a wood stove in a van is probably the coolest thing I've seen from any van builds. Really innovative.
"This drawer.... These are things that I use daily, except for the liquor flask, I use this.... hourly" nice
Wow this dude takes “Living in a van down by the river” to a whole new zone. Chris Farley would be proud.
ROFLMFAO!!!
Thanks for the GUT LAUGH!!!
chris farley is just another stupid shitty celebrity. hes been dead a long time. celebritys opinions dont matter. their all goofs.
When Chris Farley said that we all thought he was a loser. Not no more.
i was thinking that same thing😭
@@huckleberryfinn338 Someone who does speedballs to emulate John Belushi is a Loser.
Probably one of the better use of the room I've seen in a home build van
I swear I enjoy the home made spaces better than a lot of the more expensive options out there! This is extremely well thought out and I would have killed to have a setup like this when I was homeless!
Really like this interior, especially with stove. Simple layout, but cozy while also being clean. I like setups with less kitchen and simple bed arrangements, but still cozy and comfortable for day activities. More like camping than glamping.
and the cedar...wonderful!!!
I'm fascinated by this whole "van life" culture. I've seen lots of vans, but yours is the first that I could see myself spending any real time in.
Agreed
You forgot that you get to build it this how you want.
Smart guy..💯💯..Jus simple living...no rent to pay & no over rated house mortgage....This way u can save up alot of money without paying any rent !! A great piece of mind.....
I'm 25 & going to start my journey. Honestly in a tight spot but always did my best work under pressure 🤣 you've encouraged me to just go for it. It'll never happen if I don't try so all my saving are going into the best van I can make on an extreme budget 😅 lol thanks for the inspiration & solid ideas. This was a great video I'll be saving for later
For sure Dimitri! Just do it! It's not so scary once started. Just keep rolling with the punches and building towards the goal. It works out just fine. Tons of people make this work!
This is an ideal and practical build. A lot of van builds are pretty but don't give enough space for entertainment, gaming, or the things we really spend most of our time doing.
I think it’s awesome that you have a wood stove in your van. So many people who live the van life use either propane or diesel for heat, meanwhile you can find fuel for heat most places you would park for the night, love it.
and yet he buys it at Walmart..
@@CalmoOmlac You can find dead wood in all forests, that is good enough to make fires outside., so it should be good enough for inside.
@@dubious6718 Indoor fires and outdoor fires are different. Burning not-so-great wood outside isn't an issue because you're not inhaling the fumes at anywhere near the level of super tight quarters like this. Better safe than sorry my friend.
@@Phyoomz If you are getting smoke inside, you are doing something wrong.
@@Phyoomzyou can definitely burn whatever you want in a wood burning stove. All the smoke goes out the flue
Hi, this is the couple you just met in the Aldi’s parking in columbia, SC Thank you for the van tour and the great advice. You really inspired us to move forward with our decision to build a van. Thank you again and it was a pleasure met with you. Good luck with all your future endeavors.
For sure guys! It was a pleasure! It's funny cause after we met today, two other people came by and asked to see the van too haha.
If you think of any other questions, just let me know and I'll help!
I'm really getting into this idea for retirement. Being by myself, an introvert, and very resourceful, I find the idea exciting! All the work involved to me would be something to keep life interesting and the thought of being a free agent would be euphoric to me. As far as expense, here in the northeast, you sign a year lease for $25K, so even if the initial cost is high, it'll pay off in a year or two. In years back I would never have thought this way, but in today's world, I find it highly appealing.
Hey Ryan, Congrats on making it 4 years, that's impressive! I just wanted you to know that I was pretty heavily inspired by your van build but added my own touches along the way. I have been living out of mine for 8 months and have traveled like 18,000 miles in it. You were awesome when I was building it back in the summer and helped answer some questions and your electronic schematic made that part easy. I love living in this thing and just wanted to say thank you for the inspiration and the walk throughs on your build. I wish I could show you a picture.
That’s amazing! I hope to be like you soon! Can’t wait
@@anshukrishan841 You got this! Just give yourself enough time to do the build, I worked like day and night to get it done in 2.5 months but I can't believe the end result. Pretty amazing what we can do if we don't let fear hold us back.
@@sirwizalot7164 Yeah I will try to do that when I get some time, it always raises the stoke when you see some other peoples rigs
Upload a video, man. It sounds cool
And then gas went WHOOOOOSHHHH
I like the wall you built between the front seats and the back of the van. The wood stove looks wonderful too. I would probably add a rear view mirror dash cam, like the Pormido 998S. Then you can "see" out of your back window while driving, even if the back windows are blocked.
One tip. Seal of the propane tank. They are not sealed of completely, so they always leak a bit is what I heard. Making an air tide cover for it is safer option
This van layout is freaking amazing, you used every inch wisely and all the things are useful, bravo !
Great White is so legit! I hope whoever receives it has some seriously awesome adventures.
Before seeing this build I had seen a few other vanlife setups, but Great White will always be the first van that made me think "man, I could live like this". If someone's eyeballing the solar, the MaxxAir, and the chimney, they'll connect the dots that someone's hangin out inside, but otherwise the stealth is pretty solid. The bed looks super comfy, the entertainment/music production setup looks so sick, and the space efficiency is on-point. Like, there's actually room in there to have a friend over, hang out on the couch and play video games. In a freakin Ford Econoline.
Look forward so much to the new build, keep on killin it!
100% agree i felt the same !
I've seen alot of these builds as I've been doing research on them lately, and alot are crazier than this... but everything in this is so usable and simple yet to the point. Also you just seem relatable as a person and honestly this is such a sick build! Stoked for the bigger one, being able to stand up seems like not much but the importance of being able to fully stand/stretch cannot be overstated!
Awesome build man! be safe
My thoughts exactly! I just got hooked watching buses & rvs turned into tiny homes.. this is amazing tho to help with the sad fact so many places don't allow over night camping..
Plus imagine how safe you would feel hidden back inside a van
Idk about that. I'm beginning to think it's not that big of a deal being able to stand up inside the van because it just depends on what you're trying to do, and how you intend on doing it. The bigger the van the less places you can go. I think a lot of people are scared that if they can't stand up in it that they won't be able to do the things they need to do to live in it. Because it's like, why spend that much time in the van? And that's really what the big question is. Do you need to stretch, or do you just want to? And is it worth not being able to take the van certain places?
Those little wood stoves are so danged adorable!
I had no idea that they cost so much, however.
4yrater and still doing your thing bro, 4 years of saving no rent, bills etc besies the usual. The set up you have is amazing cant deny that. I'm a single guy and been thiking about doing this cause rent in California is just terrible. Stay blessed broth
"I'm in a terrible connection area."
Bro that loaded faster than my actual wifi...
That's actually a neat setup. I like the stove and it looks like you have a lot more room than I initially would think.
Love the propane leak detector. That is SO important.
i remember watching your first video on this van and loving it cuz it was the closest thing to what I would, and likely could, actually end up building myself. still in my head a lot of the ideas you've put in to this will be a major basis for what i end up building. years later i still love this build and it appears well more than enough to take van life by the horns.
100% it was an amazing ride in this van. Daily living was simple with this set up
Really well done on the inside ! Looks spacious, clean, comfortable, the TV and computer setup is like very well done aswell and the solar panels are the cherry on the top to achieve almost limitless energy. Honestly your van is one of the best I've ever seen so far.
Ditto that mega thank you for taking the time to share this Vagabond's House.
Love it!
It is definately intelligently organised but no toilet and on cold days the shower is tough ' didn't see a freezer for food either but it's a great habit if you are very young
Exactly the same essentials I have in my van… nice!! One suggestion. Get a 5 gallon bucket with a plastic toilet seat top. Line it with a trash bag
Truly the best stealth van conversion I have ever seen. You thought of everything.
I'm not sure you can really call it stealth build with the literal chimney on the top of the van but it is a great setup! 😅
I can tell you take pride in everything you do. The van is exactly how it would have it for me…I love it!
It makes me really happy to see you still living in the same van. You’ve been one of my main inspirations for van life and I’m ready to do it now. Recently installed Solar and have tweaked my cooking and storage for about a good year. I ended up buying my own home funnily enough even though van life was because I never thought I’d get there. Now I’m going to rent my house out and live in the van because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do and I have my little nest egg already set up . Thanks for your channel and videos, you’ve really inspired me, although I don’t live in the van my partner and I have had so so many great holidays (test runs) and it was all thank you vids like yours. God bless you on your travels, I hope you find many more adventures 😄
What a beautiful build! I'm working on converting a much smaller rig for myself than this one at the moment, and there's a lot of ups and downs. Your work is so inspiring! I'll have to watch some more of your videos
Thanks for not adding fluff, surprisingly refreshing to see your vanlife. Awesome...
This might be one of the best van builds I have seen to date. The simplicity and functionality are next level. The stealth aspects are perfect.
Yes. Agreed 100%.
A lot of us are going to living like this in the next 20 years
NOT ME!
At this rate, it'll be a year
Why is that? What’s happening over the next 20 years?
@@gna8an more losers
@@gna8an Do you live under a rock? Inflation is in the double digits and energy/fuel costs are skyrocketing. We're already technically in recession and it could easily be the worst since the 70's.
This actually the best build I've seen. Love it! I'm hoping to move into this lifestyle soon. Awesome rig, thanks for sharing.
I love this guy! It's amazing how many talented people there are out there creating truly great content. Thanks for showing the self defense tool! Very important. Can't wait to watch the new van vids. Livin the dream is more attainable than we realize. Our dream is our dream and not necessarily what theirs may be. This man has shown how you only give up what you never really needed and gain ever lasting life!
Hell yea, pulls out the way you protect your home/vehicle at 7:00 haha. Awesome stealthy build, and I've been wanting to setup something for a long time. A lot of these give me ideas and inspire me more. How people setup their things and that you can have a different way of having a bed come out and all with a good bit of space instead of be in a tiny corner. Starts making things a little bit more feasible and make sense and how much/what gear you need. Other van vids have mentioned they were glad they got a bigger sink, so I'll have to keep that in mind.
Thank you for sharing.
I miss my 1996 Chevy Astro. Lived in it with my wife for a year.
This year i bought my 2015 Mercedes Roadtrek ss agile from an insurance auction, paid $17,000.
Only damage was the front bumper, i fixed it then i hit the road a month later after making preparations.
Im currently driving through the state of Washington.
I love how everything is simple. Incredible build. A dream set up for me . Now I just have to make it happen.
This reminds me of the "man cave shack thingy" that me and my friend built before we could drive. We built a little man cave shack on top of a little trailer that we would pull with a four wheeler. We would drag that thing up into the woods and watch movies and drink Zima's.
15 year old me was way cooler than current me.
Man I wish I could've given my dad a van like this, he would've loved it and probably lived that way the rest of his life if he were still here!
Ah man!
@@OutdoorsEmbrace 😊😊😊
This is probably my favorite home/van i've seen. Interior looks very simplistic and easy the way it should be.
Love it. You are pretty efficient at having a lot of toys and essentials using such a small inconspicuous home on the down-low. Well done.
Pretty sure you will make your next one even nicer now that you have learned what works, what doesn't and what you missed or left out on the first build.
Honestly I think this is a great way to replace renting an apartment
Oh my goodness, this is on the most entrancing van life videos - I just love how creative you are. I've been mulling van life over sometime now and after watching this, Im inching closer.... ty for sharing!
You're welcome! And thank you!
The fact you managed to build and convert your van into a home is pretty cool.
U don't understand how much u inspire me
They make these really cool peltier fans that just simply sit on the fireplace. The heat from the stove makes the fan spin. Helping circulate the heat in the van.
Nothing could make this feel tighter. Oh, strobe lights, that could do it.
Brother, you've done it right. The hallway style works best in my opinion. It allows you to move freely from front to back. I will give you one great idea. Get a very small cheap electric leaf blower. You can thank me later. I had a large extended roof van and I absolutely hated sweeping it out. I spent a lot of time near the beach and sand would get everywhere. With the leaf blower, you can literally blow everything straight out your back doors in seconds. And not just the dirt on the floor but all the dust in your van. I even used it to get into my electronics and blow the dust out of them as well. I couldn't believe how simple and efficient that one little device was. It's a game changer.
I got a very similar set up just a more modern white wall on the inside. I do a lot of gaming and watch lots of movies. Star link has been great giving me Internet in the woods. Cool to see someone doing the same thing I’ve been doing it for about four years as well. Excellent build. It’s refreshing to see a van lifer have a piece on them.. never be a victim. Carry the tools to protect yourself. Well done
I saved 152k in 4 years living in my truck camper and maintaining a full time job. Don’t let ppl* influence you into debt - go this route you won’t be disappointed.
This is actually amazing, you have inspired me.
I love the idea of having everything you need all in one space, allowing you to be wherever you want in the country.
Im 18 and thinking im gonna give this lifestyle a go in a couple of years, get a job/leisure balance where I can work from (home) anywhere in the world.
Thanks for the updated walk thru. I've always felt this was one of the best setups I've seen!
dude! you built that van RIGHT! Most that I see just look so trashy...This looks Clean AF! Love it!
Wow I love your van! It’s got such a great layout and you made such great use of every little space
It reminds me of living on a boat, as in everything gets stashed under seats, so people on seats are shuffling around whilst someone is trying to find out which seat it is under.
I’ve seen so many van life videos but yours is so different. You have everything you need. As a woman my issue would be needing a bathroom. LOL ~ Debbie❤
This is the kind of build I want for my van, practical and cozy.
This build seems simple, but it really well thought out. It might be a good layout to start testing the van life.
Hey man, your original video showing off your van is the video that got me into van life. It's awesome to see how your van's evolved over the years. I just finished Uni and got some shit I have to pay off, but I'm planning on doing saving up for a van conversion of my own ASAP, so thanks for pushing me down the rabbit hole of van life youtube!
That’s a life enabling set up . Nice video and beautiful evolved van ..
So, a couple of months ago I commented here saying how this was in my opinion the best van build I had seen. Fast forward to today: I, coincidentally, found an Econoline and will be starting a build in it too, and will likely model some of it after your build!!!
Model Away! Check out my Van Dimensions video, and initial build video!
It's really cool to see someone live like this...don't think I could sleep comfortable that close to a propane tank and finding places to park where you feel safe for the night would be a concern for me but it's a nice set up
I'm impressed on how well the van home turned out I love it nicely done my guy
I like the layout of this van, no clutter, easy to clean, you can still keep the back doors open.
Best van I’ve seen so far 🔥🔥
Your video about gaming in your van from a couple few yrs ago was my first Van Life video! I was hooked on van life, and still hooked! Thank you for sharing
Nice! I had a video from a chick living in a jeep that started it all for me.
I like that you built your van specifically to accommodate your lifestyle. It wouldn't work for me, but I don't live your life, so that's cool! I wish I had the hutzpah to do this when I was younger. MUCH younger. I am nearing retirement age now, so my wife and I are making plans to sell our property and move into an RV. Our children (and grandchildren) live very far apart, so we want to be able to spend a couple months here and a couple of months there and the winter in the southwest. But your cozy little van look awful nice. Might have been something I could have gone for if I had thought of it before I got married nearly 40 years ago.
I'm switching from a big shuttle bus, to an ambulance.
It's just me, and my dog.
We had tons of space in the bus, and there is more in an ambulance, than a van, but, you've given me tons of ideas, on efficiency.
Every time I see this, it’s one of my favorite set ups
I've watched numerous amounts of van set ups, some really expensive ones too. This is by far the best I've seen. Truly the inspiration/ image I was looking for, thanks to you I realize I want most of the space to be for a bed, love that cozy vibe. Immaculate build !
Thanks man!
So happy to see you carry. That vehicle protection rune can only help so much.
Bro when cut to that the smile on my face got ten times bigger XD also sick carry
Man my girl and I got behind on things during Covid instead of ahead like some but we hope to take time before it’s too late to do this for a year. Cheers to the memories.
I used to work for Roadtrek, converting vans into RVs, the sprinters make great RVs due to their height! Looking forward to seeing your new van build!
That thing is a little powerhouse on wheels! Incredible ingenuity and very well thought out. Thank you for sharing it!
Awesome video, this was very emotional for me, had a studio that almost burnt down from wildfire, lived in my van for two years, similar to your old van, saved money and bought a promaster. Life is good but the struggle is real. Peace.
Stay safe my man, I don't plan to live in a van but you taught me that I don't a lot to live and have fun.
Thank you for sharing. Your door and wall that separates your cab from the hotel is the best. Nice touch with the cedar!
Looks like something to try. This is something you build and have a house at the same time. You build this and say something happens and you lose your home. You still have a home just smaller and no rent now. Perfect way to save so much money literally and isn’t really a bad idea tbh especially if your single.
Wow what a practical build in such a small space!!
OMG a total rolling man cave... I'm impressed.
Kudos to you.....this is one of the best builds i have seen so far especially your cubic mini stove.
This is one of my favorite builds on RUclips ! Simplified
Best part by far when he busted out the sig.😳😁👏👏 wasn’t expecting that all.
By far the best van build on RUclips..so nice
This video solidifies it for me. I will experience vanlife for myself.
Hell yeah man! Do it
Still love this van and I can't wait to see your new one. Take Care and Stay Safe.
This is my favorite set up that I’ve seen,
I’m a gamer too that lived in an Rv most of my life looking to make my own conversion, thanks for inspiring me.
Very inspirational! I always like simple, with one side just the couch/bed, and the other side a single shelf with your entertainment. When they try and cram too much in, I get claustrophobic just watching the video.
Love this van you did a amazing job on it I like how everything fits so well and has its own place thanks for making a great video and so much details you rock man 🙌🏼
You've created a beautiful, compact travel cabin, although I couldn't live wihout full standing height, this is a really gorgeous build out. Subscribed.
I absolutely LOVE your setup and I could live there forever. Great job! ❤
So surprised how few stealth campers use camping hot water heaters. They are super compact, lightweight and hook directly to your gas bottle in 5 seconds. Gives a nice hot shower and you can move it about and hang it where ever you need. I've been using one in my house for years as my water heater broke. Will definitely be bringing it when I get my van.
Whats up! Congrats on 4 years! I'm 9 months in on my "luxury" cargo van conversion. Hopefully I will be able to finish it and upload a tour soon. You were a big inspiration in the decision! LMAO on the P365 upgrade. It was surprising to pull your piece in the first video, and similarly in the second.
