I’m excited for the next video of TOYPAJ because that’s when I discovered blink, and I remember the pink bass being soo awesome, that’s later in my twenties I build a Tom Strat but in hot pink, like Mark Bass to blend the two together 🤘🏼❤️
Awwwww man, hearing you say those pics of all his guitars are small blurry pictures bums me out because I had every single picture and every single color in literally a GIGANTIC picture on my parents old computer back in the mid 2000s😭😭 you could zoom in so far and see so much detail it was awesome. I wish I still had it to send to you guys. I remember having a whole file of saved pics of them on stage just to look at their equipment. I’ve owned my surf green squire since about 2006 I believe. I’m 29 y/o now and still one of my favorites to play. Such a solid axe. Love these videos, guys!!
I have so many pics from old shows. Some of them pretty good shots. Stuff form when they had FUCK lit up (early 2000's) Mark dressed up as Superman on stage. Tom waving a American flag, plus shots with him with the yellow, silver guitars.
For the Tom amp situation I think the good news is even the 1999 bootlegs (ie: shoreline ampitheater) where Tom’s setup was barebones (no 212’s, no rack crap) it still sounds like proper Tom tone 100%. I’m guessing most of the shit in the racks were power amps to drive the 212’s that would appear at the same time as the racks and maybe some spare shit. For the record Tom’s triple was a Revision G and the Jcm 900 was a 4100 model. It’s said that the triples cabinets had v30s and that the jcm cabinet(s) had greenbacks.
I did some further research on this tour and I DON'T KNOW WHY I never knew about this tour when they had a Bay Area stop. That's a show I surely missed!
There’s a video can’t remember where the guy in the vid explains using the live on Howard stern vid , that his dirty sound was the clean on the 900cranked gain , blended with the mesa, more Marshall for definition and mesa for weight and saturation , cleans was the mesa clean and abit of the 900dist channel with low low gain , i recon the jmp was a backup pre amp and the rest Lst of the stuff is power conditioners , wireless units and spare power amp, 😊
Mark used two SVT-4 Pro heads into the 8x10’s. He also did have the blue prototype jazz with him on this tour. He used it at the MTV VMA’s and MuchMusic Awards in 2000.
Just wanna toss this out there for anyone getting into Mesa stuff - the Triple recs tom had during this time are the ones made from the 90s up until around 2000 (these only had two channels)… now new rectifiers have three. So it will look a bit different if you buy a new one with more knobs to accommodate for the third channel. The same goes for the dual. The only difference isn’t really the channels but it’s the fact that Triple is 150 watts, dual is 100 (and the single rec they used to make is 50). You can also get the 25 watt mini rec. they’ll all get you in the ballpark.
i was always bummed, because it was super obvious to me that it was mostly re-done in a studio...i wanted the off-key vocals and guitar pick-slides that were erased...i bet the only thing they kept were the drums and the banter...

It’ll be a fun episode!

Oh man that would be sick!!! Maybe someone might have!
In the behind the scenes of the Man Overboard music video you can see little Tom with the surf green Strat You can tell because of the inlays.
the guitars on the booklet brought me so far back! love it!!
My personal photos of the yellow baritone are from the 2001 Honda Civic tour. They’re decent shots for a disposable camera 21 years ago.

Oh wow! Would you mind sending us them on our instagram? We’d love to see them!

Imagine a Tom interview where he reveals all the secrets

Wasnt the VMA and Muchmusic awards in September? Maybe he got the blue after the tour? But before the end of the year?
@@jimmymcmillion6045 No, he got the three prototypes (Candy apple red, lettuce, blue) at the same time. He used lettuce and red more often.
Thanks Q. Yeah he had the blue just rarely used it. Thanks again for the info! Marks bass’ on this tour were 🔥
I believe he used the svt-cl…deffs in studio and on the road as well i have seen. Just maybe not on this tour exactly.

Can you get recent photos of the silver strat? I think I remember you guys saying Tom’s friend has it
❤❤
What’s up with the orange striped 333 in the background?
Looks like the demo version Tom had in the studio for Untitled.
Hey. It’s a studio Gibson 335. Brian added the orange stripe! Came out amazing!
@@Gear182 thought you guys may have gotten the proto, lol that’s awesome it did come out amazing!
Mark didn't have to switch basses for their down tuned songs like Adam's Song?
Hey. No different tuning for Mark
Tom uses AxeFx now doesn't he?
Correct! 😊
