Most of the items I use are local brands from Malaysia. There are no specific brands I have used so far.

Should have added the potato with the chicken to save time and gas
No, the chicken needs a longer time to cook.
So you add potatoes later.
Potatoes will end up disintegrating into the curry if you do that.
You're only saving pennies that way.
