Easier than walking the whole way :)
Becareful up there like somebody else already said there are alot of rattlesnakes up there. Saw about 3 when I went up to the Sierra Buttes. Down in Sierra City go to the Buckhorn Lodge for a cold one. There is rattlers thick behind the bar in that rock wall. Ive seen them , the Bartender at the time was a real cool dude and took me out back to see for myself.
Rode my Honda Trail 90 up to the Buttes about 1975. Met a guy in a Baja bug coming down. Saw a 40 inch timber rattlesnake (dead). Pretty sure the Baja bug ran over killing it.
Back then, fire watch ranger said they only recieved supply delivery once a week via forest service dodge power wagon 4x4 pickup truck.
We could see Mount Diablo from there. Absolutely spectacular views!
I appreciate your view and sharing your story. And yes, those views are amazing!
Props to you for taking that hike down to the water. And a hour back up?? 😳 I that would have taken me at least 2 hours lol. Great video as always, keep em coming 👍🏽
It was definitely a butt kicker. Didn't help that I had a 3.5 hour drive back home and I was dead tired lol
Great video and some awesome scenery. When you were going down to the lake the only thing in my mind was "Dang he has to climb back up!" lol
That was my thought on the way down lol. Nature can be deceiving.
@@thetrailoutthere But gravity and inertia are always constant. Lol
My backyard drive a 1st gen rav 4 and 3rd gen taco on all this.
That's outstanding! Keep it up!
How did I just now find this channel 💀 literally passed my city at 0:47 tho I'm closer to highway 65 than 70. I've had the chance to take my 99' Z71 to Fordyce trail (briefly) in the Sierra's, Yuba gold fields, Forrest Hill, and Copley Mountain in Redding
Stupid expensive to live in California but fortunately we have a ton of trails, rivers and parks to enjoy!
I agree with you 100% about the cost of living out here! I look at it as the price to pay for awesome nature. You should join us next time around.
Do you think a 10.7 inch clearance Lifted subaru outback will make it on this 4x4 trail to the overlook?
I don't see why it wouldn't. Only thing to worry about is transmission overheating.
@@thetrailoutthere Cool thank you for reply I will keep in eye out on that when I go in future
Justin needs to downsize to a half ton
What were the roads you went on? Were they Sierra buttes road then butcher ranch? Great video.
We went in through the Sierra City side on Sierra Buttes Rd. Thank you for your view!
what size wheel extensions are you running?
I have 1/4 inch spacers. Still having some rub at full turn on the passenger side but nothing a little hammering of the inner fender won't fix. It's only about 1/8 of an inch worth rubbing so I might just left the tire wear down or adjust the preload a bit to make it go away.
Great content! What the specs on the White 2500? Lift/wheels/ tires?
I don't have the exact specs but if you want to message the owner on ig his handle is heavyduty_z71.
Cool video bro. When I saw that water in the distance, I knew it was far away and you were underestimating the hike down and back up.
Yeah, that distance is deceiving lol. Definitely a good hike down if you're camped there and do it early morning as a wake up swim. Otherwise you'll be hurting lol
How hot did your transmissions get? How low did you air down to?
The dash wouldn't let me exit out of the warning temperature so I just idled for about 5 minutes then took off in 2wd. For this Trail since it wasn't too bad I only aired down to 28 psi.
Shift technology cooler bypass! Best mod to my Silverado as well as the range technologies AFM delete!
