Arkansas State Police traffic stop turns up 14 pounds of meth

- On March 13, 2021 at approximately 9:00 A.M., Arkansas State Police Trooper Christopher Short conducted a traffic stop on a white Hyundai Accent for making an unsafe lane change in front of a pickup truck, causing it to have to apply its brakes, and for following too closely to a tractor-trailer. The traffic stop occurred on westbound I-40 near the 13 mile marker in Crawford County, Arkansas. The driver was later identified as Kyla Nicole Forbes, and her front seat passenger was identified as Malcolm Dewayne Alexander.
Having been trained in drug interdiction techniques, Trooper Short noticed that both Forbes and Alexander were extremely nervous. Trooper Short requested consent to search of the vehicle and Forbes denied consent. Consequently, Trooper Short requested Trooper Jose Elmore and his K9 partner Bo. While waiting for Trooper Elmore, Forbes admitted to being on federal probation and stated that she was not supposed to leave the State of Iowa. Forbes also admitted to having a meth pipe in her purse. At approximately 9:20 A.M., Trooper Elmore arrived on scene. Trooper Elmore utilized his K9 partner Bo to conduct a sniff of the air around the stopped vehicle, and Bo alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, ten bundles of meth weighing a total of 6.3 kilograms were located inside a black duffle bag in the vehicle's trunk. Also located inside the vehicle was a glass pipe Forbes' purse, as well as an open syringe in the center console.
At approximately 10:50 A.M., Special Agent Andrew Chronister and Task Force Agent Eric Pippin conducted a post-Miranda interview of Kyla Nicole Forbes, during which Forbes admitted to driving Alexander to Greenville, Mississippi, on March 12, 2021. Once they arrived in Greenville, Forbes stated that they drove to a hotel. Forbes stated that Alexander gave her the money for a hotel room and she rented a room in her name at an Executive Inn Motel. Alexander left Forbes at the hotel and retuned a few hours later, at which time, they left Greenville en route to Des Moines, Iowa. Forbes advised that Alexander was paying her $1000 to drive him to Greenville and back. Forbes also stated that she knew Alexander was a "drug dealer," as he had sold her meth in the past, and that he would also sell cocaine and Ecstasy.
On March 14, 2021 at approximately 2:00 p.m., Special Agent Chronister and Task Force Officer Pippin conducted a post-Miranda interview of Malcolm Dewayne Alexander. During the interview, Alexander stated that he helped Forbes make the connection to purchase the meth in Greenville. When asked how much meth, Alexander stated that "the report" says ten pounds. He would not give an amount other than that. Alexander was also asked if any money was exchanged for the meth. He advised there was not.
Alexander stated that a price for the meth was not agreed upon and it was just given to them without a price. Alexander did advise, however, that he paid $22,000 on his debt of $25,000 before he was able to obtain the meth.. and that his debt didn't have anything to do with the purchase of the meth he was stopped with the previous day.
Forbes was charges with two counts of possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. On October 6, 2021, Forbes pleaded guilty to one count of the above. Forbes was sentenced to ten years in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release. Three weeks prior, Alexander pleaded to the same sentence.
In early-2014, Forbes was sentenced to 75 months imprisonment, to be followed by five years and three years of concurrent supervised release, for conspiracy to distribute meth and conspiracy to launder monetary instruments.
Be cool. Stay in school.

I'm a court reporter. I once worked on a criminal case where a car was pulled over for speeding 20 mph over the speed limit on the highway, at night. None of the three men inside spoke English, none had driver's licenses or even a state ID, and the car wasn't registered to any of them. Turned out they were transporting three kilos of pure cocaine. For the life of me, I will never understand why anybody transporting drugs will break the traffic laws and risk getting pulled over.
@stacy: Stupid games, stupid prizes.
When you're in that world, it's not uncommon to do some incredibly stupid stuff. I think one of the best examples of this from my past is the first time I was ever around the white powder stuff. This woman said she needed to get some chore boy. I didn't know what that was, but a group of us went out to a grocery store around 11pm. The 2 of us went in, I was the only other female, and she's the one carrying it. She goes and grabs a pack of chore boy off the shelf and starts ripping it open in the middle of the aisle. I tell her to stop, that it's a dollar-something, I'll buy it. Jfc. Insanity. I had never met her before, but she clearly wasn't able to think logically.
Dang! Me either! That has always had me vexed!😂Why in the world would you drive stupid when you're ALREADY committing a crime man!?!
The only thing I could think of is maybe they wanted to get caught because it was safer than dealing with the cartels
You can get away with certain crimes over and over, with a minimal amount of risk, but when you "let your guard down" just once, for some reason, that's when you get caught.Strange but very true.
It always amazes me that these smugglers don't get their stories lined up and matched before you get on the road.

I think the k9 is kinda a scam. I know they can smell drugs but there isn't a universal sign that the dog gives so everyone knows if it hits. A cop could just say the dog hit and no one would know any better. There should be a universal sign that all dogs give when you hit on contraband.

You're absolutely right. It's insulting to the intelligence of the police and it's even more insulting to people who have actually been victimized by any kind of bigotry. The stupid s.o.b. wakes up and the second he sees a cop he starts spouting the racial profiling garbage. Give me a break.
She took a deep breathe when he asked her if he could search the car😂😂😂😂
She went Def when she heard canine.. and started crying 😂😂😂😂 she know she going back to prison
The most unconvincing WHAT! Of all time, even he didn’t believe it
This has to be the most polite professional cop I've ever seen
He’s the same one who busted another couple guys with 14 pounds of meth. He’s pretty good at it.
One of the most calm officers ever.
You become like the company you keep. It kills me that most of our younger generation doesn’t comprehend this way of thinking but they are taught by example.
You know when someone is lying, they keep repeating the same thing over and over
Talked herself right into jail....genius!

@@XantankThe night is dark and full of terrors.
Oh I’m so sick and tired of criminals saying racial profiling who gives a damn if your black or white or Hispanic you do the crime grow up and accept the consequences
Yeah, I couldnt believe him saying that when he had all the drugs in the trunk. It honestly wont help his case when driving around with 14 lbs of meth. He fits exact description of a drug trafficer so it could have been the car, the plates, how he acted all of them let them profile him as a drug trafficer since he fits the "profile" to the T.
Criminals will say anything they think might get them set free. Especially when their brain is cooked like this guy's.
he snuck in that quick and quiet "Zip it" LOL at 34:20
Committing misdemeanors while already committing a felony is always a big brain move
The two officers were polite, respectful and civil. The situation was handled by the book.
The dispatcher telling the officer to be careful at the beginning of the stop is amazing to me. Such consideration. Is that common?
It's very common. We all look out for each other. Dispatch is our lifeline.
Consideration for others is very common in the South.
Dispatch officer could also be his wife 😉
@lightningmcqueen9310 , or girlfriend, but all my experience with them has been about our safety and a true bond. They might not be out in the streets, but they have some nasty, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes chaotic crap to deal with, and they have to maintain control and composure. They are our first line of communication. They coordinate everything. They keep track of all of us and coordinate between different jurisdictions. It's not an easy job.
I watched a few of these drug busts. It starts off with the Troopers saying they are driving too close to the car in front of them. Wouldn't they know by running the tags that there are convicted drug users in the car, and the Trooper's technique is to slowly get the perps to admit to the crime?
ASP A respectful suggestion: Don't engage in conversation at all with anyone under arrest.
Didn't take long for the race card to pop up 😂.
When you’re on federal probation for trafficking meth already and you have a meth pipe in your purse it’s hard to believe you when you say “I didn’t even know” or “I can’t believe he’s putting this on me”.
They literally did everything they could to get caught. Lol. Rental car in someone else’s name, tailgating, being incredibly nervous, give out too much information. These people are fucking terrible drug dealers. Lol
Like 2 five-year-olds getting caught stealing cookies
And thats a good thing. The more of these fools off the road the better although do agree the "war on drugs" is unwinnable.
@@wootle The black market isn't even being mitigated, drug prices get cheaper and the market gets better even as the government pours more and more money on the war on drugs.
Fat white chic with a black dude in passenger seat with leaning back, that’s always a red flag for cops 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not drug dealers that can be proven on the stop, but drug traffickers
Im sorry but seeing her break down speeded up in the back of the patrol car made me belly laugh 😂
“Can I search the vehicle?”” Is where it went left.
Watching these type of videos makes me feel my problems are insignificant in comparison (work stress and daily issues) and I am SO glad to be a law abiding citizen and enjoying my free, happy life.
I'm with you a thousand percent. I need to find a new job but you know what? Boo-freaking-hoo. Life is life, and then there's THAT kind of life. I think I'll keep the one I have. Cheers!
Well said.. I got away with mischief for so long and it's nothing but severe stress and anxiety. Obeying the law is just way better 👍😁
Who was the victim in this “crime”?
Exactly. I would never want to do anything that would take away my freedom in life. It seems like some people prefer that way of life to get free room and board and meals that you receive in prison. Freedom is a beautiful thing!
@@Connie-E ¿Are you not aware, that now-a-days we can lose, not just our freedom, but our life in a traffic stop for doing nothing wrong but exerting your rights before a cop with an oversized bruised ego? That's the reality my love...Be safe out there, and trust no one in blue.
Knowing you are on probation and smuggling meth is insane.
Insane in the membrane 🎶

If the judge gives any leniency, replace em asap
That stuff makes people make bad decisions, every time.😬😳😵💫😬😳
Even not on probation it’s insane.
Knowing from personal experience, people from Arkansas in general are very friendly and sociable. They are courteous, hospitable, agreeable..This officer acts like typical people from Arkansas. They have natural instincts about people and their behavior. His calm, courteous demeanor puts people at ease, and he is constantly reassuring them that "everything is ok, it's no big deal". That way people aren't instantly on guard and belligerent. They are able to get people to talk much more readily. They are the best.
The patience these officers displayed is admirable for sure!! This guy only seemed calm when they had cuffs on him...."Why?"😂😂
"I can't believe he is putting this on me"....you mean your drug dealing friend that used you to traffic his drugs is not a stand up guy? I am blown away
Reminds me of the scene from the hangover.. "You mean to tell me the drug dealer in the alley behind the liquor store turned out to NOT be a good guy?"
Typical BM. Making the woman take the charge
He seemed like a real straight shooter
@@sashamoore9691 whoa your racism is showing
Oh please she was benefitting from that situation as much as he is lol. She knows she was going to get some of that lol
When she was groaning in the cop car, I felt that. It was her reaction to the most intense waves of sadness and fear. It hits you like a pulse.
Her life is Over
But she made the choices she did. She knew what she was doing and when you do meth you lie about everything. She’s trying to make this seem like she’s innocent. My ex (daughters dad) is a meth addict and heroine. He lies and lies and lies. He will lie to make himself seem so innocent and never take the blame for what he did.
@@caileighlong8931 Yeah I have a buddy who smokes crack and he’s like that. Nothing is ever his fault. He’s always a victim.
@@chriscothron3606 I’m so sorry. It sucks and I hate drugs. They do nothing but ruin the life’s Of those who do them and their loved ones. I hope your friend makes it through this and can get clean one day but he’ll have to make that choice no matter how much we want to force them to go we can’t :(
I get that feeling every time i get pulled over with 800lbs of meth too.
I wish I could understand one single frase that comes out of his mouth 😂😂
Bo was acting like, “Let’s go, l could smell the meth when we drove past!”
I love how he goes straight to “racial profiling” as if the officer is going to immediately go “Oh jeez! How silly of me! You’re totally right, let me go ahead and get these cuffs off you and let you back into this vehicle with 14 pounds of meth in it, and you have yourself a great day sir. So sorry for the inconvenience.”
💯🤣😂
😂😂
Gotta love that victim mentality.
At the same time though, meth be bad lol, never wanted to risk my life in a car with meth, greens people go by what they do depending on the person, meth it’s a no go... no go for methgo😝🤪
Right? Also, he can’t blame the fact that he and this other clown can’t get a story straight and are acting nervous as hell on “racial profiling”. When a dog alerts, that’s probable cause to search. He’s just mad because he got caught. Profiling or not, even if they were both white- the trooper knew what was up right out of the gate.
It's unreal how many of these people get caught by making stupid driving mistakes. If I had that much shit in my car i'd be driving like grandma going to church.
You think a fucking tweaker that is high as fuck is going to think straight?
Just the fact they're using this brain rotting drug means they can't remember each others names let alone where the fcuk they are going or coming to GAME OVER
I drive like that anyway. LOL
I agree but I think they had a tip off on her. but yes so many of these videos are window tint, tags, tires, or lights and turns into something else

This Trooper should be training all officers. God bless him.
Got pulled over by this dude
@@wilmerarriola5663 you did?
yeah great job!
This has nothing to do with training and everything to do with an informant. You think cops really just so happen to stumble upon pounds of meth? I've never been stopped and immediately taken into the back of a patrol vehicle. They already knew what was in the car.
Ikr I’m in love with him and I never seen his face I love a real man he wasn’t evil either he was just doIng his job like a real G

"correct side" huh? What about crooked cops who break the law that they suppose to uphold? Is it ok because they are the "law" ? So, they can break the law, kill unarmed ppl & it's ok? You ppl are hypocrites!!
Yes it does
As a recovering alcoholic it feels even more satisfying - and quite honestly bizarre - that I don't have a criminal record or DUIs (I'm a Brit). I could well have but my Higher Power helped me to dodge a bunch of bullets. Never again, but one day at a time...
yea it’s called white privileged she openly admitted she uses meth plus on probation he just with the wrong person
