You always get a good history lesson with Iron Maiden. There catalog is full of songs based on true historical facts.
You get an ever better history lesson from Sabaton. They even have the Sabaton History channel to discuss where the songs come from. "Bismark" is a good song to start with on the Sabaton rabbit hole.
@Firstname Lastname Rime Of The Ancient Mariner.
@Firstname Lastname As I mentioned above, their music video for "Bismark" is a good starting point: ruclips.net/video/oVWEb-At8yc/видео.html
Or at least some classic literature reference. Obviously Rime of the Ancient Mariner will be the first to come to mind for most. And it is EPIC, not a wasted, note, beat, syllable,
Or second in that song.
But it’s very long, & if you’re not familiar with the original poem, it may take time to appreciate the song .
But others to consider:
Where Eagles Dare.
Phantom of the Opera
Dune
Murders in The Rue Morgue
And many, many others
@Firstname Lastname Hallowed be thy Name, the live video. He proves his vocal prowess.
Steve Harris arguably greatest rock bassist ever.
couldn't agree more steve Harris just frigging incredible. the best bassist
HE'S A BEAST!!!!!
John Paul Jones?
Geddy Lee?
@@LOKISlog7 they're great too, but Steve is just sooooooo fast!
John Entwistle?
Iron Maiden are Heavy Metal Historians! They don't just sing about war, they sing about specific historical events. They have songs about the plight of Native Americans, Alexander the Great, Greek Mythology... they are amazing once you dig into their music.
I learned more about history, listening to Maiden.than what I did at school!
@@simesh1547 You can learn a textbook worth of History from Powerslave alone.
In my opinion Sabaton is better at the history than these guys but to be honest both are absolute legends
"Run to the Hills" is probably their most accessible song, if you want something that won't overwhelm Amber, but absolutely *rips*, and shows off why the lead singer got the nickname "The Air-Raid Siren". And on top of all that, it features the story of how the Plains Indians had their land taken away, told from three different perspectives: the Indians, the Army, and an outside narrator.
This all day ☝️☝️Amber will really appreciate and it will stick in their heads..lol
Not much by Iron Maiden isn't overwhelming, Bruce is just a badass.
Good tune.
Nah, Invaders or 22 Acacia Avenue.
There are two official videos for Run to The Hills, one featuring segments from an old black & white film, the other Camp Chaos version featuring animated segments instead.
Specifically they are singing about the Battle of Great Britain in WW2, where they were under constant bomber attacks and the RAF fighter overcame overwhelming odds to win and keep England from being submitted. Iron Maiden is all about some historical songs written by Steve Harris (Bass), and Bruce Dickinson (Lead Vocals and pilot of their 757). Listen to Hallowed Be Thy Name, one of their all time great iconic songs
"Never before has so much been owed by so many to so few." -- Winston Churchill
Bruce is also gradueted in history. A renaissance man
@@claudioferraro1652 Also participated in the creation of Trooper beer and others under the Trooper label, wrote two novels and his autobiography, fences competitively on an international level, tells a damn fine story (I saw him on his Spoken Word tour earlier this year), and of course, is still kicking arse onstage after surviving throat cancer seven years ago.
Hallowed be thy name is overplayed and over rated
@@EdyCarrillo you out of your damned mind LoL if you play it too much that is on you . It is definitely not over rated with those vocals and the instrumentals, but thanks for the opinion.
One thing to consider, is that all these early British metal bands grew up in the post-WWII England. They were the kids born after WWII and grew up in places like Birmingham, a seriously bombed city during that war. They probably played as kids in the rubble of destroyed buildings.
Iron Maiden is from Leyton.
My husband has been a Maiden fan since the beginning. He introduced me to them when we started dating 12 years ago. They came to Texas in 2010 and he took me to see them 3 times in less than a week in San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston (our home). We saw them twice in Florida on our honeymoon! We also traveled to Tulsa a few years ago for a concert. Hubby's TV room is covered with Iron Maiden (and a few other metal bands) posters and collectibles. The boys in Maiden ages range from 63 to 70 now and they still put on a hell of a show!!
Up the Irons
Iron Maiden is one of the bands you almost have to watch their live videos. They bring so much energy, even in the older age these days.
Yeah, they work great with the music alone but you're missing out on so much of the artistry by Not seeing he live performance. A lot of bands sound slightly worse live.
Iron Maiden do not.
saw them at the old N.E.C. Brum when i was a student..they jumped on stage to the brightest flash bang ive ever seen and by the time my eyes recovered they were bang into it..even though i'd heard the LP live after death i never really appreciated how true to the records they where..to recreate album tracks live on stage and not even notice the difference blew me away..they were ACE(s High)
The bass player is Steve Harris. He has some of the fastest fingers ever. He was one of my biggest influences when I first started playing bass. I actually got to meet him backstage in 1984. It was the highlight of my young bass playing life. When he locks in with the drummer, it is speed metal magic!
Harris, Geddy Lee, and Chris Squire are my favourite bassists
So many great songs.
Fear of the Dark, 2 Minutes to Midnight, Run to the Hills, The number of the Beast, Can I Play With Madness, and many more.
Lead singer is Bruce Dickinson. Bassist Steve Harris is the primary songwriter.
This song is written about British pilots in WWII, Battle of Britain.
Used to love Bruce hosting shows or doing interviews but never could really get into Maiden. Guess I was more if a glam metal guy.
@@itsmedino I was more hair metal then too. Got into Maiden later on.
Definitely Run to the Hills!
Fear of the Dark live is just epic
Another great song "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" is a based on a poem of the same name written in 1798 by Samuel Coleridge, another awesome story
Iron Maiden is like a musical tornado. I’d suggest “Wasted Years” and (if you can deal with it) “Number of the Beast”. Definitely my all time favorite. You did “Shout at the devil” so “Number of the Beast” shouldn’t be a problem.
Guys, Maiden has been one of my fav's since high school in the 80's. One thing about them, their guitar solos and use of two (sometimes 3) lead guitarists all harmonizing is one of the best there is. Please consider doing Hallowed Be Thy Name and Rime of the Ancient Mariner (preferably studio versions just to hear the clean solos). Two of their most iconic songs in my opinion.
Awesome reaction guys. More Maiden please! Hallowed Be Thy Name Live from 1982 is incredible.
Good choice, it's hard but not too hard for Amber.
This performance will show a very different side of the band, song pace and what amazing musicians each of the members are.
1000 times yes to this suggestion!!! Like others have said, not too hard for Amber, but it really showcases them live and shows another side to Maiden.
Yeah THIS!!!
Yes please - Hallowed Be Thy Name next.
"The bass player". That is Iron Maiden. The storytelling. The catalog is soooooooo deep. Don't forget to get to some early Iron Maiden. Paul Di'Annno era. "Killers" "Phantom of the Opera" "ides of March/Wrathchild".
Transylvania, Charlotte the Harlot, etc.
You got that right!!!
Nikko's sound, his fills, his energy... he's an absolute beast on the drums.
Just want you guys to know almost every Maiden song, their rythyms both guitar players play the same at the same time, just in different tones to harmonize! And it is amazing and their signature sound!!!!
Hallowed be thy name live in 1982 is a good one of theirs to react to.
Or to just listen to on repeat 😁
@@seansaxon641 Facts.
1982 version on Hallowed Be Thy Name.... PLEASE
Iron Maiden always tell a story with every song. And THIS story you will absolutely LOVE
Irn Maiden is one of my favorite bands. Nearly every song they perform holds some sort of history lesson. They do a song called Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, that is literally a renaissance era poem set to music. Or, if you want a great example of their talent I would suggest Hallowed Be Thy Name
It's 'Iron Maiden' and 'Rime Of The Ancient Mariner'..ಠ_ಠ
@@hazysummersky And Coleridge also wasn't a renessaince poet :)
@@hazysummersky Thank you for your insight on correcting my typographical errors. That is so caring of you .
"Rime of The Ancient Mariner".
On the last tour, Maiden opened with Aces High and they brought out this restored WW2 Spitfire. They're on tour this summer, if you get a chance to see them live, they're just phenominal.
You need to see some live footage of iron maiden then you will see why they have so many fans and what makes them one of the greatest British Rock bands of all time
Now you're talking. Iron Maiden got me into metal in the 80's and I'm still listening today. One of the greatest bands ever. Please don't wait another year to listen to them again. When you do check out Wasted Years. Studio version is great or the live version from the Book of Souls tour is better.
Battle of Britain was when the Royal Air Force defended against Hitler's airborne forces. Very famous battle. Without Churchill and his forces, Britain might have come under, and still been under German control. The song does a great job in reflecting the tension, pain and drama. It's brilliant. btw... Aces.... refers to Pilot competence.
An Ace was a fighter pilot who shot down 5 enemy pilots.
@@shawnbasil1600 yes
Bruce Dickinson is pretty F-ing amazing as a vocalist and performer... energy for days ! I read an article about Iron Maiden in which Bruce espoused his entire stage style in that he HAD to perform not only for the front rows but for the beloved fans waaaay back in the cheap seats... so he had to be bigger than life on stage and really sell it to the entire crowd and you can see it in his exaggerated actions and the poses of him and Steve Harris, the bassist in every performance.
Iron Maiden uses history and literature for the vast majority of their music. This is about the Battle of Britain in WWII. That was Winston Churchill with the intro. The Trooper is based on Tennyson's The Charge of the Light Brigade from the Crimean War. I've actually used their songs to discuss World History with my kids. As teachers, you guys will probably love Maiden.
Some other songs would be "Alexander the Great", "Powerslave", "Rime of the Ancient Mariner", and my favorite "The Longest Day", to name a very few.
Omg rime of the ancient mariner is my absolute fav. So many turns that song makes
The bassists name is Steve Harris, he's got fingers of fire lol
LOVE THE WINSTON CHURCHILL OPENING!!
DEFINITELY SETS THE TONE!!
JORDAN, THE BASS PLAYER STEVE HARRIS WRITES MOST OF THE LYRICS AND MUSIC TOO, I BELIEVE!!!
HE'S A GREAT BASSIST TO ASPIRE TO!!!!
Some of the best musicians in metal here. It's not just speed and power, which they have, but it's technical skill too--no wasted notes, even in the guitar solos. On top of it all, great production quality too. The story telling from Iron Maiden is top notch, as "Aces High" (and "The Trooper") show. I'll second the suggestions for "Wasted Years," "Run to the Hills," "Number of the Beast," and I'll add "Stranger in a Strange Land," which has some good variety/dynamics. Great reaction; thank you!
The Gods of Metal are appeased. Thank you for this one. What you have just experienced is Iron Maidens depiction of the POV from a British Spitfire pilot during the Battle of Britain, where Germany was Bombing London. These pilots went up to try and shoot down as many German Bombers as they could. The speech in the beginning is Winston Churchill (British Prime Minister During WWII) and i beleive he gave that speech in Parliament. Many of Maidens songs are based around Historical Myths or History itself. Flight of Icarus comes to mind. Thank you for the Smiles
It's been over a YEAR since you did Iron Maiden!! Please don't wait another year before you do "Run to the Hills" or "Can I Play With Madness" or "Holy Smoke"! We need more Bruce Dickinson! (Total random fact: Bruce has a younger cousin, Rob Dickinson, who fronted a great 90s alternative band called Catherine Wheel, who I think you would love. They had great songs like "Crank", "Black Metallic", and "Judy Staring at the Sun".) Great reaction!
Their songs "Iron Maiden" and "Run To The Hills" and "Fear Of The Dark" are good! Please do Run To The Hills next week!
Yes. Check out "Fear of The Dark", Live - Rock In Rio, for Halloween.
Oh yes! We gotta get some more Maiden up in here! When you have guitarists like Dave Murray and Adrian Smith, having a guitar solo for each of them is naturally the way to go. They’re an an awesome band all around. Up the IRONS!
Iron Maiden was one of my favourite bands growing up and this is one of my fav tracks by them. Bruce Dickinson is a literature and history buff which explains a lot of the lyrical content and themes. Fun Fact: Bruce is also a commercial pilot, author of novels and film scripts, and he's also competed internationally at fencing.
Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Metallica. The most important bands in metal, and they deserve as much respect and shine as The Beatles, Stones, and Zeppelin.
You forgot one Judas Priest
He forgot More than Judas Priest...
@@joealvarez8733 True but if you are going to say Sabbath < Maiden and Metallica you can't leave Priest out
@@robertgreen6433 and they are finally in the Hall
Deep Purple too!
J and Amber, Bruce Dickinson the lead singer was also a commercial airline pilot. He personally flew the band on world tours in customized commercial sized jets.
He still does. Ed Force One.
His name is Jordan, and It's Bruce Dickinson. Unfortunately, he can't fly anymore, because he's 65.
@@RayfordRaySiegel Yeah, but they call him 'J' or 'Jay'. I'm sure he knows to whom I speak. It's probably just 'J' for short.
@@jaysone.94,
Well, It's "J.", for short, rather than "Jay", which is an actual name.
All right my babies.... This band plays so fast and accurate, I had to go see them for myself back in the day. Up The Irons‼️🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
1984. I'm 15, walking past a record store and hear this, so i went in, asked what it was and bought the vinyl single. Then the album, then more Maiden, Saxon, Motorhead, AC/DC, Hawkwind. Second-hand, i got Led Zeppelin, Cream, The Doors, Yardbirds & many others. Live, i've seen over 50 bands - Robert Plant, Motorhead, Aerosmith, Sisters of Mercy, All About Eve, Guns 'n''Roses, The Mission. It all started here. Lol. Good times.
Oh hell yeah! I’ve been wanting you to react to this song, it’s my favorite Maiden song. Honestly, Bruce Dickinson’s voice is AMAZING! Jordan, that’s Steve Harris on bass, he’s the founder, primary song writer and backing vocalist of the band. He has a very distinct and recognizable style of playing the bass, particularly his “gallop” sound. One of the best heavy metal bands out there!! Without watching I’m sure that this year has changed your opinion Amber…let’s see 🤗 “Hallowed Be Thy Name” next please. Also, this is great work out music…see how pumped it got you.
Amber, Love how you said “the drummer is Killer”…
Iron Maiden’s second album is called “Killers” (different drummer, RIP Clive Burr) but that album cemented me as a lifelong Hard Core Maiden fan
Different singer, too, as that was their last album with Paul Di’Anno. Nevertheless, it is a killer album.
Singer Bruce Dickinson is a legend; a true Renaissance Man. Top-notch singer and frontman; still running around and doing it at the age of 63. A pro fencer (competed internationally; even owns a fencing equipment company.) Owns a brewing company. Owns an aviation company (also a licensed pilot; has flown for British Airways, even pilots the Iron Maiden tour jet!) Was a radio broadcaster. A writer. Even kicked cancer's ass 7 years ago (full recovery.)
Amber, thank you, you are starting to get it!!! They are Top Notch talent!!!!
They are one of the most influential metal bands of all time. You know Iron Maiden released a new album in 2021, Called Senjutsu. And they still got it. You can try The Writing On The Wall from that album. But heres some songs that you guys must react to -
- Hallowed Be Thy Name
- Fear of The Dark (Starts very slow)
- Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
- Blood Brothers (Slower Song)
- Dance of Death (Starts very slow)
- Wasted Years
- Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
EDIT: They are one of the BEST bands for live concerts. and it would be lot more enjoyable for both of you to react to their live performances.
The secret of iron maiden is that all their songs sound like what they're about. Aces high sounds like a WWII dogfight.
It does my heart good to see the next generation getting to experience the music I enjoyed. I loved sharing my playlist with my young co workers, and getting them turned onto different musics.. I love your channel! Keep it up!
Steve Harris is on Bass, and one of the greatest of all time! I have seen them live twice and they sound just like the album!!!!
Y’all hit the jackpot here!!! Maiden are great for teaching history, whether it be WW1, WW2(this one), The Bible(The Number of the Beast)….I, as a history teacher have used this Legendary Speech by Churchill as a lesson….you guys are awesome for this. Keep up the good work 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Check out "Fear of the Dark". Live from Rock in Rio preferably.
Live In Rio is the only version worth checking out, but it's great.
That and "Still Life" are perfect for Halloween.
That's the phenomenal Steve Harris on bass. As far as I know he plays a fairly standard Fender Precision bass, although the body is a little heavier than most players prefer. Lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson is a classically trained opera singer (as is Pat Benetar).
I believe Iron Maiden is currently touring with three guitarists, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
Gotta do "Wasted Years" and "Can I Play with Madness" next.
Bruce (singer) is a pilot and flies the band from show to show. Hence his interest in writing songs with a flying theme
he no longer does as he's 65 as of now
Absolutely legendary band! I can also highly suggest: "Fear of the dark (Live in Rio version)", "Hallowed by thy name (Live version)" and "Rime of the ancient mariner (flight 666 DVD Version)" 😉👍
Trooper isn't really harder, it simply shows how much Amber has grown since. You guys keep exploring and sharing the experience with the rest of the world. ❤
Yeah, they should do a 2nd listen of the Trooper on the channel to see her reaction now, would be fun
Iron Maiden always does a great job of using the music in a song to put listeners mentally into the subject matter of their songs.
Also, an Ace fighter pilot is one at or above a certain number of confirmed kills. I always felt like this song also conveyed the message that Britain had to have an air force of almost all aces in order to stave off an invasion by the Nazis.
Even more amazing: The lead singer flies the band from concert to concert in their private 747!
I was waiting for Jay, being a bass enthusiast, to discover the mighty Steve Harris. One of the most influential bass players of all time, and my personal hero. The fact that he's also Iron Maiden's founder, chief songwriter and undisputed leader doesn't exactly make him less cool. And it doesn't hurt that he also remains so down to earth and sympathetic, even after decades as one of THE most important characters in heavy metal history.
And, one of his biggest influences as a bassist happens to be the late great Chris Squire from you guys' newest favorite band Yes :-)
Their live performances are legendary, Fear of the Dark, Hallowed Be Thy Name and many more.
I may get to see them again this year! Best show in rock & Roll...& that's Winston Churchill at the beginning...check out Run To The Hills, Revelation, Flight Of Icarus, Fear Of The Dark & Ryme Of The Ancient Mariner...anything off of Powerslave will knock your socks off...
Maiden is touring in Sept/Oct! Go see them live!!!!! And yes, as others have mentioned, the next song of theirs you try should be Run to the Hills! Such an amazing tune with soaring vocals and that trademark galloping beat!!!
great song Jay & Amber but y'all need to react to somewhere in time. just frigging amazing or hallowed be thy name
We need to give jay more of what he wants and give him some heavier bands to react to. Slipknot, pantera, iron maiden, and black sabbath to name a few. Love the channel and no offense but it seems like your picks have bin more towards what amber wants to hear. You need to expand a little just my opinion. Keep making great videos.
Aces High came out in 1984, Maiden's lineup for that year was Bruce Dickinson on lead vocals, Adrian Smith on guitar, Dave Murray on guitar ( Dave's always on the right side of the stage) Steve Harris on bass and Nicko McBrain on drums ( his real first name is Michael)
I love watching these videos, but it's experiencing new songs with you guys that makes it awesome. I absolutely love watching videos of you guys reacting to songs I know, but going through songs I've never heard before? Absolutely awesome. Thank you guys for being this awesome.
Love how you appreciated the song and band for who they are! You got it spot on.
Steve Harris (bass) of Iron Maiden, is the band's founder & wrote 'Aces high' in 1984... he plays Fender Precision bass (4-string) and his style of playing inspired countless heavy metal bands 🤘🤘🔥🔥Harris was inspired by 70's bands like Thin Lizzy and U.F.O. (both Lizzy's Phil Lynott and U.F.O.'s Pete Way were huge influences on his bass playing) and he also loved the complex arrangements of prog bands like Yes, Genesis and Jethro Tull... (Bassist Chris Squire of Yes was also a big influence).
Iron Maiden was formed in London in 1975 by Steve Harris, after he had begun writing his own songs, but the band he was in found them 'complicated'... Harris put together the first band w/ friends he had made in the music scene, but he was constantly looking for new talent for Iron Maiden. In 1976, he was introduced to guitarist Dave Murray and was impressed by his skills - he offered him a spot in Maiden... Despite some turmoil w/ members, over the years, Harris finally stabilized the band's line-up by 1977 w/ Murray, drummer Doug Sampson & vocalist Paul Di'Anno (a 2nd guitarist proved elusive for a while).
By 1978, Harris had written quite a few original songs (music & lyrics) and recorded a 4 song demo, which became a favorite in the London metal scene in 1979 and finally got Iron Maiden signed to a record label. Unfortunately, Doug Sampson was exhausted and quit for health reasons... Clive Burr (drums) joined w/ Dennis Stratton on 2nd guitar and they recorded the first Iron Maiden album in 1980.
The musicianship of Iron Maiden had vastly improved since their club days, and the debut 'Iron Maiden' album brought Steve Harris' songs to full potential... vocalist Paul Di'Anno contributed some lyrics, but most of the songs on the first 2 Iron Maiden albums were compositions that Harris had written during their years playing clubs and bars in the UK - particularly impressive were the tracks 'Phantom of the opera'... 'Wrathchild'... 'Iron Maiden'... 'Murders in the Rue Morgue'... 🔥🔥🤘🤘
Adrian Smith (guitar) replaced Dennis Stratton on 2nd guitar for the 2nd album 'Killers' (1981)... but Maiden's relentless touring caused vocalist Paul Di'Anno to burn out and he left the band that fall.
After some consideration, Iron Maiden selected vocalist Bruce Dickinson to join the band for their 3rd album 'The number of the beast' in 1982... Smith also started to write material for the band, but it was Steve Harris' songs that stood out on the album - tracks like 'Run to the hills'... 'The number of the beast'... 'Hallowed be thy name'... Dickinson was a better vocalist than Di'Anno and his high range vocals & dramatic stage presence were perfect for Iron Maiden.
In 1983, Nicko McBrain (drums) replaced Clive Burr, making Iron Maiden a sonically tighter heavy metal band... 4th album 'Piece of mind' benefited from songs being written by 4 members - Harris, Smith, Dickinson and (occasionally) Murray... Harris wrote 'The Trooper'... 'Where Eagles dare'... while Dickinson & Smith wrote 'Flight of Icarus'.
For the 5th album 'Powerslave'(1984), Steve Harris wrote 2 standout tracks - 'Aces high'... and the epic 13-min song 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' (which is a fan favorite) and Iron Maiden were headlining and selling out arenas all over the world on tour, going into 1985.
Despite career ups & downs, Steve Harris has maintained Iron Maiden, and they are one of the top heavy metal bands worldwide today... Harris also started a solo band British Lion, that revisited his passion for 70's rock music.
You HAVE to go down the Maiden rabbit hole. Saw them in my hometown of Belfast last week all in their mid 60's and they are still killing it!
Yes! Thank you! More Iron Maiden please! So many songs in the catalog to experience. Run to the Hills, Number of the Beast, Flight of Icarus, Powerslave, 2 Minutes to Midnight, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Wasted Years, and so many more. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Their live shows are epic!
Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. My very first concert at the tender influential age of 16. I never looked back. Check out more of their catalog please you will not be disappointed. Side note… I saw them right before Covid hit with my 21 yr old daughter and they were still amazing!!
I saw this band last night in Belfast, Northern Ireland. They were amazing and this was the song they did for their encore.
I first heard Maiden when I joined a cassette exchange program with kids in England thru Circus magazine. It was early 80s so... thru the mail. And I don't know how to explain what a cassette tape was...
I sent KIX, ZZTop, and Billy Squire...
They sent Iron Maiden, Saxon, and Def Leppard!!!
I.M.'s hits album: "Best Of The Beast" is one triumph after another.
Love channel!
🪂
Britain rules again! The amount of iconic bands, sounds and generation defining music that country produced between the 60's and 90's is ridiculous. Thank you for your service😁😁😁
Iron Maiden always sounds like classical music played on metal instruments to me ♥️
When my son first heard this song was when he was playing Grand Theft Auto. I'm behind him watching and rocking out. I say "this is my favorite songs by them" he tells me "mom, you don't know this song"😂😂😂oh, the childlike wonder. Of I had to educate him...The 80's rocked😎💞
It's awsome to see you two jam to what I jammed to in the 80s.
I have been going to Iron Maiden shows since the 1980's. They are still just as awesome in 2022 as they were back then.
"Iron maiden is always on go", truer words have never been spoken. UP THE IRONS!!
Maiden comes down to songwriting. Their musicianship and technical skills are always top tier. The true impact for them is based in the songwriting. Every one of them are as proficient as you can expect a musician to be. Up The Irons. ❤️ y’all!
Steve Harris(the bassist) also writes the lyrics. He’s a genius at both.
Ohh my gosh yes!!!! Need more Irons Maiden. runto the hills, number off the beast, Hallowed by thy name. Soo many great songs
I don’t always listen to Iron Maiden, but when I do so do the neighbours! Up the Irons. Check out Hollowed be thy name
I absolutely love how they use the drums at 6:12 to simulate gunfire after say pressed down his guns
You guys had a great day! Lots of SMILES and enjoying all the songs. Made me smile too! :)
Maiden rules, man! I was started to hear them when I was fifteen years old. Now I'm 47. I love them! Steve Harris is insane and Bruce is a kind of god.
This is so awesome. Iron Maiden is so good. Songs are written by a historian.
Im so glad you listened I'm going to their concert in a few months I cant wait love live music my favorite bass guitarist
From all of Iron Maidens stories my favorite is Run for the hills. It is deep.
Up The Irons! Watching you two be amazed by Maiden made my day. Been a fan of this band since the early 1980s
Top 5 Maiden jam for me...just wish it wasn't so short! Love the urgency of this song - such great storytellers
Just recently saw iron maiden perform this at Download festival 2022
AWESOME!!
Y'all are awesome!! You make these songs fun to hear again. to see your reactions brings back the excitement i would feel the first time I discovered metal in the 80s. Good stuff!!
Had my boy just shaking his head in the solo. love it.
Did you know that lead singer Bruce Dickinson is a qualified civil airliner pilot and captained the Boeing 747 the band used to fly round the world with all their equipment on recent Book of Souls tour. The band all the crew and gear used the 747 throughout the tour and Bruce has an aircraft maintenance business at Cardiff airport in Wales.
THEY STILL HAVE THAT ENERGY TOO!!! Bruce has so much Stamina. Husband and I went to a sit in session with Bruce and he is absolutely hilarious!
YES FINALLY! This is the group that start the concept of power metal. I love them. This is about the battle of Britain from the point of view of the pilot.
You can't possibly go wrong with Maiden, literally any song from any album will rock your butt off.
Iron Maiden are the top excellence of Metal and have stayed on top for decades.
I just discovered your channel a couple of days a go and have loved watching you enjoy the music I grew up on. You are great! Keep it up
Steve Harris bassist, writes a lot of the songs. He is playing a Lado 4 string. He played these briefly before going to Fender. One of the most popular bands in the world with very little airplay.
Run to the hills is my favorite Iron Maiden song.
Bruce Dickinson has been a fan of aviation for much of his life. So much so that he bcame a pilot, and is qualified on all Boeing aircraft. In fact, he was the actual piolot for the band on a couple of their world tours. They had their own passenger jet with all their equipment, stage sets, props, roadies, managers, etc. They made a documentary called Iron Maiden: Flight 666. The aircraft designation was EdForce One.
Iron Maiden "Hallowed be thy name " live 82 best song ever
My favorite Heavy Metal band of all times. Another band with an extensive catalog to dive into. They have been around for a really long time. Check out Hallowed be thy name or Rime of the Ancient Mariner among many others.
Surprised you haven't done more of them J seeing as how they have 3 lead guitarists. The greatest thing about them is their energy; they're a great live band!
