Yep, it does and it's a really helpful feature. With that there is no reason I can see to shot in uncompressed.
On a side note I recommend to set the AF tracking sensitivity to at least 4. This will give the AF-C a nice speed boost.

I`d like to point out that the noise at high iso on videos is because the A6700 has a dual native iso (which varies for every picture profile), the two base iso for S-Log3 are 800 and 2500, anything in between is noisier (so iso 2000 is noisier than iso 2500). I have zero issues with filming and sticking to those two iso and my footage looks very clean. :)

I got mine a few weeks ago for bird photography. Pair this body with the Sony 200-600 lens and you have a great fairly light (for the reach) setup. The Bird Eye AF is simply amazing and overall I don't think there is a better APS-C combo on the market right now. I love the fact that the 4k120 has a crop that is super helpful for filming birds in slow motion. Thanks for the review!

I feel that the a6700 leap-frogged my A74. The quality difference is barely distinguishable and the feature set is more advanced with better auto-focus plus AI features along with the standbys, lighter, smaller lenses, cheaper but still superb lenses like the 16 - 55 2.8, so I sold the A74 and have now committed to APS-C with the a6700 and the FX30, two amazing cameras that suit me to a T. Thank you for your always excellent reviews.

I like my a6700, but flipping screen to side is a pain, its extremely fragile and it doesn't work too good for macro video/photography, I like a6600 screen more. @quite1enough Год назад

@@DDHDTV idk how it's on other cameras, but HSS drastically lowers flash power even at sync speed if HSS turned on with my X-T3. I do macro photography and learned it hard way, at first was upset, thought my flash is that weak (quite surprised that not a single video on flashes I watched didn't mentioned this issue). And when majority of macro lenses is 100mm manual, you really need all the shutter speed you have, and even 1/250 sometimes too slow when handhelding 100mm manual macro lens while trying back-and-forth focus movements with some small bugs.
Perhaps IBIS may help in this situation (granted that Sony's IBIS isn't fantastic), but at lower sync speeds you may start to see some flash trails :(

I've just discovered that my comment with a reddit url got automoderated, probably. I'll try to reconstruct what I posted.
Thanks a lot Christofer for your work. Your reviews have helped me a lot on the choice of my lenses.
In August I've bought an a6700. I've had a heating problem and sent the camera to the customer service. They checked it against another a6700 and sait they behaved the same. Sony confirmed that it's normal behavior. I've run some tests with a thermal camera. I get 33°C at the handle and 42°C behind the screen, with the camera in M mode, everything manual, no wifi nor ble. It gets up to 37 and 45 with A mode, continuous auto focus, auto iso, wifi and ble on. Room temperature was 21.6°C and 22°C.
I've never encountered this info in any review. I would love for you to cover it. I don't find it acceptable or normal, for a camera to heat up like that for just being idle.
I'm wondering if the a6600 does that too, given the fact that it has a differente sensor and chip. Also other users infos about the a6700 would be nice. It could be that some percentage of the a6700 cameras has a problem, and Sony just got unlucky with their investigation about my inquiry, but I doubt it.
P.S.: the post is on r/SonyAlpha

Never owned A6000 but I had A6400 then A6600 and now A6700. I heard there i s not much of a difference to upgrade to A6700 in term of photo IQ.....However, I can say for sure 100% that apart from better AF which is too obvious...the file produced by A6700 is very very good. I could recover highlights and etc very very well and this is not something most reviewers would talk about without much experience with the camera in all situations. That being said, is it justified the extra money? .....depends on one's budget. To me, it is "OK" for QoL improvement and I am quite happy with it over the former two camera I had. I had a few opportunity to shoot with A7iii with 35mm F1.4 G Master lenses vs A6700 with the Viltrox 27MM F1.2 and the owner of A7iii could not tell a different in the real world application for casual travel photos. I put them side by side for him to guess and he could not tell it right for almost half of it.

Struggling to find occasions when I feel the need to shoot at 4K and a super high frame rate for over 20 minutes continuously. The run time for 4K 25 or 24fps, which is by the way what theatrical release movies and streaming service major dramas shoot at, is well over an hour. This is continuous shot stuff. HD run time, which is what we all watch on our HD TVs is infinite - till the battery dies. I think not bad for a stills camera.

    Yes they are expensive.
So are Sony lenses. The big difference is you can buy brilliant lenses from Sigma, Tamron, Viltrox etc for Sony at good prices. Canon won't let anyone else make lenes for the RF mount. It makes the choice pitiful and either affordable and mediocre or excellent but extortionately priced.

I'm wanting to get a 6700, its definitely a worthy successor to the 6400, but thats part of the point, its a midrange aps-c body, NOT a pro body in any sense of the word... and its overpriced for that midrange point... at least in every way I can see.

On these smaller Sony bodies couldn't they just have dual micro SD card slots?

Oh Please no! My drones and GoPro use micro sd cards. Way too small to swap outdoors in the wind with my fat fingers. I've lost two already that simply blew away. Try finding one of them in the long grass! Now I come to think of it not such a crazy idea. Or make the second slot micro SD and stick a 250gb one in there recording JPGs for peace of mind.

Nikon could make a dent in the market if they refresh their APS-C line up as they have opened their mount to a considearble range adn now we have decent DX lens options for Z mount.

@@j.kimmer1509 you are a cry baby. Admit Sony is better value than Canon. Everyone knows this. With this new AI AF Sony caught up to Canon. And you rather spend $2500usd on big huge lenses that weigh a ton over small sharp quality f2.8 glass for a fraction of the cost?

    • @desohare8683

What a strange thing to say. I have Sony lenses and third party Sigma, Tamron and Viltrox lenses. I've just checked out 4 of them ony A6700 and they all give the full 11fps. I also have a Canon R6. Its a great camera, but the restriction of not allowing any third party RF lenses cripples the system. An adapter allows the use of EF lenses, but 3rd party manufacters are leaving that mount behind and Canon lenses are ether terrific and prohibitively expensive or affordable and of mediocre quality. Do you own an A6700? If you do, what lenses are restricton you to 3 or 4 frames a second and how can that even technically possible?
