What a gift to have long-standing friends AND to make special times to do things. Gathering inspiration for lovely paintings to share with use is a win-win. ❤
Good early morning Sir Clarkalot, 😂it’s the best day of the week ! Thank you for yet another beautiful tutorial , I love all the beautiful greens and those cast shadows ! Well Done Paul, Love the music too , it gets my brushes moving, can’t wait to get started , it’s gonna be a fun one ! Blessings to you and Margot !!
I’m always in awe of your weekly paintings but the line and wash are especially appealing to me. Thank you for sharing your talent and easy teaching style!
That is absolutely wonderful. Those final touches with the pastel pencil really made those stones and grasses pop in the foreground. It’s really lovely
Love your bicycle video! How fun to see you with your buddies. Your painting is wonderful and again an inspiration for me. I will "give it a go". Oh yes, thanks for introducing me to Edward Wesson. Well done Paul.
I just love these tutorials. They are wonderfully inspiring and just so darn relaxing to watch! Your descriptions and explanations as you go along are wicked helpful and educating. Some of the fun is even wondering what shirt design you will wear in any given tutorial. Just an all around fun experience. Thank you.
Thank you for doing this tutorial for all of us to enjoy part of your life and friends. This was an interesting photo to choose, but it so works! Leaves a very deep message perhaps with the tombstones in the foreground! Will do this and make my own I have been trying to be more loose, that is what attracts me to paintings the possibility of a brush stroke creating something for the viewer. I have also been trying to do the same painting in different ways to get some of that looseness. Thank you once again for sharing your moments and your talents!! :0)
Brilliant thankyou Paul, I am going to have a go at line and wash, feeling more confident to try now. Glad you had a good cycling holiday, it looked great and your bike team look a nice bunch , till next week, hope it comes round quick 😊
Welcome back from your wonderful trip and such good weather! A beautiful tutorial again, I can't wait to give it a go. Torn between line and wash and a straightforward painting. Thanks again Paul. Look forward to Wednesday every week 👍 21:11
Welcome back, Sir Clarkalot! You crack me up! (That’s Americanese for you make me laugh) What a lovely painting of a beautiful scene. Always love your line and washes. Thank you!
Good afternoon, dear Paul. A healthy mind in a healthy body! Great tutorial as always! This style Line and wash is perfect for illustrations, cards and other staff we need. And you make it feels so easy to do :-) Thank you and greetings from Moldova. Lilia
Hi Paul Thank you again for a line and wash video. That style always appeals to me. Urban sketching with watercolor type painting is good because I don't draw well. I enjoyed watching your tour. What fun time with old friends. Not old....long time friends!!! Stay well.
You had some lovely weather for it too! Love that end of the country. Oop north we've had nothing but rain for months with the occasional sunny day thrown in to make us think summer might be coming and now the leaves are turning so I guess we're into autumn officially and the rain has turned colder .. lol Love a bit of line and wash. Thanks Paul!
I enjoy watching you paint so much. The loose style is what I like & how I paint, usually. A couple of months ago I began painting every day, or if life gets in the way, at least try to make a drawing for the next day. My art has improved a lot. It takes devoting time to get better instead of riding the bike with training wheels on forever. Best regards from Wichita, Kansas, USA.
Just finished your tutorial Mr. Clark and I loved it so much! Thank you so much for your amazing teaching techniques. Line and wash is mine favorite now.
This is my preferred style of painting! Hadn't really found it till this. We've been all over Southern Ireland, twice, and I have great pictures I want to paint. Especially around Dingle. There are SO many Abbys that look much like this. On our honeymoon in 2001, we visited an Abby in Askeaton that was beautiful. When we went back a few years later with our kids, we found that many of the graves had been dug up. Finger bones, spinal bones laying on top of the ground ... we actually went back into the village with pictures because the local police had NO idea this had happened. Some of those graves date back to 645 AD. If we went back now, I'm assuming that the site will likely be closed, as it should be. What a bummer it had to come to that. This Abby ruin is spectacular.
Very enjoyable. You instinctively know when to add and when to stop for best effects. It's a hard lesson to learn but I'll keep trying. Thank you for this session. Andy
I really enjoyed this, and your bike ride. It's wonderful that you and your mates, the Leisurely Riders have kept this up for 25 years, quite amazing. Good on ya!
Good afternoon Paul. A grand tutorial as usual. Thank you for showing the lovely scenes and the also for the historical evidences of everything. They say King Authur was real. He wasn't a myth. Well, we don't know for sure. But thanks for your fabulous painting of line and wash.I believe when you see art in everything, you can paint anything because your painting looks like the real photo itself. Love how you used those faded and deep colors in the right places where they belong. Always love your work. Thank you.
This one calls to me. Been a hot minute since I have had a chance to follow your art. Thank you for sharing your adventures and friendships with this desk weary soul and sparking me to try this one!
Loved your video of the beautiful countryside! I slowed it down and did a screenshot of that cute pub! The history of your area is fantastic. Thank you for another great lesson, you both are appreciated 😊
Great work as always Paul, lots to learn from your videos. As for “wouldn’t it be nice if we could draw that fast”, my boss would probably still want it quicker! Best wishes AL
Watching you paint is absolutely mesmerizing! Oh how I want to be able to do something even a little bit closer to this fresh, beautiful work. I’ll keep trying!☺️
Beautiful!!! I appreciate your tutorial style it makes it doable and helps to have a successful painting for all who watch. Thank you!So cool to have such friendships long lasting keeping traditions going year to year. Such fun!!!!
ich verneige mich vor Sir Clarkalot für dieses tolle Video. Ich freue mich, es nachzumalen und fange jetzt sofort an. Mir gefällt das Wash and Line. Es macht soviel Spass. Liebe Grüsse aus der Schweiz. Christa
I enjoy from everything you paint. They are so beautiful. And I think that your followers must be more than 1 million. Thank you so much for sharing your art with us.❤❤❤
Loved this video, especially the trailer, as this my part of the world. The Bush at Ovington is very special and you were lucky to be there on a sunny day. Hope you enjoyed lunch/whatever. Thanks for your continued instructions, they're great. Julia
Thank you Paul for your skill sharing and consistency. I looked up the " 3 Amigios" Castagnet, Zbukvic and Pekel amazing loose watercolor - thanks for all the w/c history and artists. Really appreciate you❤
Pubs, Castles, and really, really old churches...Three things I think of when I think of the English! Such beauty.... your countryside is so lovely and green. I hope to someday visit. Today in NC, USA, we have catastrophic flooding, loss of life and property from hurricane Helene. We need your prayers and well wishes for our massive recovery efforts ahead.
I was considering what to do with my day today since it is raining, and now I know…line and wash of a photo that I took just the other day of our bay🤗. Thanks, Paul…I can always count on you for inspiration ❤️
Lovely countryside. We have been to England 3 times and so love your sharing your country. I have learned so much from your tutorials and really love your humor.
Hampshire has many lovely old churches, getting a good angle to make the initial sketch or painting can be an issue though. Nice painting. AND some very pleasing guitar sounds as well.

Dear Paul, thank you very much for your lesson! It was amazing as always! ❤
Thank you! 😃
Hi Paul.
This is lovely beyond words. Brought me a few tears. Remind me that in the end, all that is left of us are just names carve onto stones.
Wow, thank you
We have this hope! “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9
The 6:30 minutes stage makes a lovely winter scene too.
Lol! ... I thought the same as I was painting it!
That is absolutely wonderful. Those final touches with the pastel pencil really made those stones and grasses pop in the foreground. It’s really lovely
Glad you enjoyed it - thanks!
Loved the line & wash. Thank you for always showing us everything is doable & enjoyable.
