Dear Paul,
The exercises you propose today strongly demonstrate that watercolor has an effect on our emotions, our mood...and even our health. Focusing on colors and their movements allows us to let go and no longer focus on our own worries and constraints. Thank you for accompanying us on this journey that brings joy, peace, and the desire to live better. I enjoy your tutorial and participate almost everyday in the FB challenges. Sel Avi = Isabelle
🥂👍
That's a lovely comment Isabelle - thanks so much!
I totally agree. Well said Isabelle.
Fantastic artwork so beautiful painting tutorial 👌 like this👍
Thank you so much 😀
Loved these! I’m going to have to repeat to myself, “Don’t fiddle with it”. Thanks for continuing to produce these.
As an ancient, enthusiastic beginner, I really can’t wait to try these. I am here for the first time, what a great teacher you are. Thank you!
Welcome aboard! And have fun 🤩
Me too, older and trying first time
Thanks for helping teach this wonderful medium. You’re a great conversationalist. Spread this those schools who have not. Teach people how to teach. Teach seniors. Spread your talents for and wide. 🎉. Travel here to Canada’s and hold competitions for your nest artist oh the summer. Put it in a museum. Teach the most expensive are not always best. Hold a new ten week course and reward with basic watercolour tools. You’re an inspiration. God bless 🎉😊😢
Great comment - thanks Awenda!
I've got a post Covid-vaccination-booster sore shoulder today. These are perfect light exercises to lift the mood. I might even try painting with my other hand. Thank you so much, as ever.
I loved reading this. Do go outside any boxes any chance you have. It can be fun... don't judge the process and allow. 😊
🙏🏻praying your arm feels better soon!
@@sacrebleu1371 Thank you. Will do.
@@stampinturtles No worries. The jab is much better than the alternative. Thank you for the kind thought.
Lol! - me too - They gave me the flu one in the other arm too... very sore!
Lovely Paul, takes me right back to South Street! 😉 I will have a go at these.
Just love your paintings...what a happy moments to sit back and relax watching a magic happening...Thank you very much Paul.
Glad you enjoyed it Zina!
Perfect timing! I spent the afternoon yesterday pondering as to what I 'd like to paint.....and never got further than the pondering 🤔. I need ponder no longer 🤗
Glad I could help!
Thanks Paul
Supper thanks for your encouragements! I must learn that no two paintings have the same interpretations.
So true!
I needed this after a whole morning of "failures" although I know they are not really failures because I learn something from them. But these little exercises were welcome and invigorating. Thanks Paul
Thanks Paul for the gift of your time and talent. Great teacher
My pleasure!
Thank you for your video😂o❤
Love your choice of music for your art.
I've only been painting for a couple of years so I've never been stuck about what to paint. I think these are lovely little vignettes for cards. Thank you
I was thinking of making cards too!
Go for it and have fun!
Beautiful , beautiful painting
OMG, you really make it look easy! A true master. I'll keep trying.
Once again, Paul, thank you for helping us on our artistic journey.
My pleasure!
Very happy I’m come across your channel, thank you.
I am more of a botanical painter but this flower spoke to me and would probably speak to my friends more so than a botanical flower. It is something that one can turn to and stare. However, the little peak of your bricks buildings you painted with much more control spoke to me as well. Thank you for this little tutorial I think I can do.
Great to hear - thanks!
Thank you so much for your lovely Inspiring videos. 🥀🌷
Well, that was fun! I'll be trying them all later this afternoon. Hello from USA...Arkansas.
A super bir thank Paul for the great work Shop 💐

I am just beginning my watercolor journey and this video was exactly what I needed! I love that you are very clear on what colors you are using and the brush sizes. I have been experimenting with how many different effects one can get with one brush. I am going to try these 3 exercises....thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Love it! Thank you so much.
I get so excited to try working along with you.
Great to hear ... thanks!
Thank you, love the loose style and your relaxed style. Thanks for the inspiration!

You're so welcome!... you can do it!
Me too! I fiddle so much I should be an accomplished violinist by now ... 😉
My family gathered to watch a bit of your watercolor Wednesday magic. We watched you create an apple... & your comments kept them following until the flower... you sharing how you like to know what you're painting but also like to see the watercolor do its magic was spot on!!! I love this!!! Short ones that even I can paint!!! Several artists were talking about just paint loose this week 😳... idk, it's a process for me! HA! Thank you 😊 Sir Paul for your inspiring lessons, with love from a California Gramma ❤️

Great warm ups! Get in! Get out! Maybe the scene of Africa will help me loosen up! Thanks Mr. Clark
My pleasure Kileen!
"The Edge of Control" - I love that. The music is great. Thank you for giving us beginners some simpler exercises (It'll be awhile before i can get to the Covered Bridge!) BTW the recent line and wash pumpkin tutorial was wonderful. I tried it on three different papers with a few color changes. Gave me confidence to paint it more than once.
Thank you Paul. Sometimes it’s just nice to paint without thinking too hard. Lovely.
Absolutely!

Sharing this video with my students. Especially because you talk about control. One student of mine likes to be in control. I think this will help her immensely.

Wow - happy to help in any small way - stay safe,
I will try all three. Been feeling stalled lately. Maybe this will get me going!
Paul it’s gorgeous and I have started to relax and work freehand no drawing, I had already found that I am most creative and I love the way the work turns out. Thanks for the lesson
My pleasure Sharon!

Muchas gracias David!
At last I’ve discovered how to do a loose poppy! I wondered why you dropped in clean water blobs. Now I know! The effect is magical
Great to hear - thanks!
Thank you Paul as always this was a great tutorial.
Thank you for making these videos. I am so glad Jenna Rainey did her video talking about her favorite RUclips artists! I immediately looked you up and we’re not disappointed!
Bonjour Paul. Merci beaucoup pour tous vos conseils. 🙂🎨🖌
Merci beaucoup aussi!
Wow looks like fun and it would help me not trying to control so much! I will defiantly try this. Thank you
Go for it!
Oh man, just the thing, thank you! I just got some 'autumn' colors watercolor paints, which I don't need but they were so pretty. Anyway, these exercises will be great for playing with them. And it occurred to me, these exercises would be great for testing paper, too. I got some cheap watercolor paper and I don't think it behaves well with good paints. Now I can play, with no expectations, just fun. Again, thank you.
You are so welcome!
Another great tutorial Paul. Such a great set of exercises to try, especially love the colours of the first exercise. Thank you for your time and encouragement
Thank you from Oregon!
Ok, I've only done the first one so far but wow! I am shocked how quickly it went and how letting go and following the instructions loosened up my painting. Thanks!
Great stuff, have fun Betsy!
Good afternoon, dear Paul! You can read your fan's mood! IT's autumn blues, nobody knows what to paint and create. Again you did a great job, waking up the desire in your pupils-followers. Thank you and have a nice day! Greetings from Moldova, Lilia
Thanks as always Lilia! - have fun!
Great, as always. Thank you.
Thank you too!
❤Wonderful thank you for an easy tutorial!
Paul, I love your paintings and your teaching techniques 😊 I wanted to see your book so I got a copy from the library to review, loved it and straight away ordered my own copy. I painted the poppies and upon doing my splatters I noticed I splattered all over the page in the book 😮I thought it was funny until I realized it was the library copy...well I hope the next person has as much fun as I did😅 I look forward to your intros and to see what you are sipping 🍷 ❤😅 I hooked a friend on to you and she also bought you book. Can't wait to get my copy so I can splatter in it Best regards, Jan Martin , Colorado, USA
wonderful sharing
Cheers!
Thank you @Paul for another lovely video.

Absolutely perfect Paul. Just had a hip replacement because of a fall and not firing on all cylinders yet so these are a fillip for the soul. Many thanks Sally
My pleasure Sally!
Thanks, Paul.....just the tonic we all need sometimes! Love Watercolour Wednesdays.... thanks for taking the time each week. There must be times when you think you'd like a rest......
Glad you enjoyed it - yup, going to lay down now!
This is perfect. I needed a little exercise (or three) to motivate me to pick up my brushes again. Thanks, Paul!

I love ypur style of painting, the edge of control, perfect!!

Glad you like them!
Dear Paul I have just had great fun doing your three watercolour exercises. Thank you.
I love the way I am learning to paint more loosely by your way of doing things, especially your instruction Not to Fiddle!!
Wonderful! Glad you enjoyed it 😁
Really good motivating exercises..🙂
I agree with you, I also like watercolor painting that has both structures and loose effects. That’s one of the reason I enjoy watching your videos every week. Thanks again.
Thanks for sharing!!
You make it look so easy Paul. Thank you
You are very welcome
another great video, Paul!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you so much. You painted these three paintings quickly but yet they are so much in detail. They can be a great encouragement to anyone to learn the art of painting. Very grateful for this uplifting lesson.
