I’m currently on Methadone for OUD. I do not want a stimulant for my ADD. My doctor said I could go on a stimulant but since I said I don’t want to, he said Strattera may be a viable option. Is that okay to be on Methadone and Strattera? My doctor said it’s fine, I do trust him. Just wanted to share and see your opinion.
Also, I would LOVE a video on Methadone 🙏🏼 I know it’s for addiction and pain but you are so articulate and intelligent! Same with Clomipramine!

What is the treatment for ADHD patients with Major Depressive Disorder? Is there a specific way you treat patients with multiple mental health conditions? Like combining medication instead of monotherapy. Your videos are really helpful, thank you for your hard work ❤.

For comorbidities with ADHD you want to treat the other diagnosis first. In your case, treat depression first, then once mood is stable re-evaluate for ADHD symptoms and severity and treat if necessary. Oftentimes ADHD symptoms are actually part of another diagnosis, especially in Adults.

@@LevelheadedMind thanks for your reply. I've been on effexor for 5-6 years since I was 16, and I was quite struggle with schooling since 12. Now 22 and dropped from pharmacy school. I'm quite sure that something in my brain doesn't work the way it should.🥲

This is exactly what I'm going through. I had a TBI that resulted in unspecified mood disorder second to a medical condition. The same with executive dysfunction. Now I'm starting atomoxetine as well as in speech and cognitive therapy. Hoping for the best. Thank you for the information. I was misdiagnosed for years as either bipolar, MDD, and ADHD, all the while doctors were aware of severe TBI. 😢

Could you also discuss how we know we are at the right dose? On 40 mg I dont have the "beneficial stress" that was helping me to get things done but I also have a certain level of emotional disregulation. How can I understand whether I should increase or decrease the dose?

Thank you for sharing this. I was wondering what your thoughts on adding buspar to effexor? My psychiatrist has been thinking about it.

This could be helpful for comorbid anxiety or depression mixed with anxiety. But you have to monitor for serotonin syndrome.

Could you make a video about MDMA? I heard the FDA has accepted a new drug application for mdma for ptsd treatment. Not approved yet but going into testing later this year I think.

I started at 40mg and gradually increased to 100mg. I took it for a month and the only thing it did for me was increase my blood pressure and made me very tired. As far as it helping my inattentive ADHD it did nothing.

With my first dose of Straterra I finally realized what "normal" felt like! Couldn't justify risks after I left the job I needed it for, but was a life changer!

I’m on my second dose and I hope I’m not feeling a “placebo “ but it is pretty awesome for helping me get my tasks done for the day
