This is the best video on vyvance I've seen untill now. Thank you do much. This helped so much to understand this medication.
This was so interesting! Now it makes sense that I got much better control over my binge eating after I was put on Elvanse by my psychiatrist (as treatment for my ADHD). I had a very good effect on my ADHD from Elvanse, much better than Concerta.
Great breakdown on vyvance
Thank you as always. Happy Sunday.💙
Thank you for watching 🙂
YOU MADE THE VIDEO YAY :) Thanks!!!!!!
You're welcome!
It's one of the few my regular doctor will continue if I'm between psych providers. I prefer Dexedrine though because it kicks in a lot faster but my regular doctor refused to give me that med.
I have been on concerta for 3.months and it doesnt do alot for me, it calms me down emotionally but still unable to execute my day well or keep concentration on activities even ones i like. My prescriber is starting me on vyvanse this week 🤞🤞🤞
Thanks for the videos! Please make one about the non-stimulant medications 🙏 as someone with Bipolar Disorder (who might also have ADHD, since the adhd-like symptoms seem to persist even in euthymia), I'm interested in learning more about them. I've heard about Qelbree, but like all other ADHD meds it's not available in my country (Ritalin is the only ADHD med approved here)... what treatments can help with ADHD symptoms that are primarily executive dysfunction related (like chronic procrastination, chronic lateness / time-blindness, lack of motivation, sleep procrastination etc.)?
Thank you 💟
Great question! I'm curious to read the reply.
Check out wellbutrin. Let me know how it goes. Wellbutrin isn't directly a stimulant but an antidepressant ndri. Only one in it's class. Will save more dopamine in the synapse which will deal with Adhd symptoms as well as pulling you a bit up out of the depression apathy
Bupropion can be an option as well as atomixetine and quelbree as you mentioned. Trintellix can also be considered. Though they all still have a potential to induce mania, but not as high a risk as the stimulants. You can also try natural treatments such as Omega 3s, B12, Rhodiola, OPCs, etc.
Wellbutrin ❤ works for me with bipolar 2, and suspected add symptoms in euthymia. Omega 3, magnesium glycinate and creatin definitely helps my bipolar too. I also some periods take NAC. Look them all up and read about it. There's also a bipolar guide to supplements online 😊
Do you know about Geodon and Fanapt? They're both medications for the treatment of Bi-Polar/Schizophrenia.
Hey i am using parixtocin from almost a year want to stop it does I'll face lifelong withdrwal symptoms or for a particular span of time does it will affect my memory in any way.। Pleass reply
Hello,and Dexedrine SR?
I was taking the 70mg daily doses of it. Needed to reduce to 30mg and will switch to Atomoxetine next month due to side effects. I had strong stomach aches and needed hemorrhoidectomy surgery. Good job on explaining Vyvanse. Do you have a video like this about Atomoxetine? I'll search. Thanks 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing your experience. I plan to do a video on atomoxetine in the near future, so stay tuned.
oops let me delete my comment requesting a video about Strattera LoL. ditto to the above!
Man, mine hits right away and last 2-3h then I crash :(
Hehe, not the Cadillac of stimulants any more. Now it's the car which works one month and the next is a dud.
"Effectiveness may improve over time". Is there a source for this? I can't find any. What would even be the mechanism?
Stahl 's Prescriber's Guide pg 409. I note all my references in the description. He specifically states that it can take several weeks to attain maximum therapeutic benefit. This is also what I see in practice with my patients as well, give it at least 8 weeks before deciding it is not working for you.
@@LevelheadedMind Thank you, found it. Doesn't really convince me though, as I can't find an actual study. I have found one that describes this effect with regards to binge eating though. Perhaps that's what the guide is ambiguously referencing.
As someone who takes this you have to take breaks from it otherwise you will find yourself getting strange thoughts and increased paranoia. Don't take it on days you don't work... or take a lower dose.
@@Etaoinshrdlu69 I don't get that but anxiety sometimes (mainly depending if I'm already stressed or not) so I don't take it some days if I know I'm gonna feel like that
Does anyone have any experience on Vyvanse, where it made you gain weight or increase your appetite? I have problems being underweight, so I’m hoping that this doesn’t make me lose even more.
i believe it helps people lose weight
@@chrispasson1940 I’ve heard that, but my doctor said it may help me regulate my eating better which would obvi in-turn help with weight gain. I’m on day 2 tho, and I was able to force myself to eat better than usual so that’s good. 👍
@@shebeekitty that's interesting
Can you take less than 30 to start off?
I know they come in 20s possibly 10s too, some people benefit from those doses so I'm sure you can.
I just started treatment 20 mg i am terrified of getting hairloss from it…. is hairloss a common side effect?
I've never read or heard of that being a side effect anywhere.
What do you mean by Cadillac?
The best one
She says because it’s the “smoothest ride” and avoids the roller coaster ups and downs of other stimulants.
Mam plz reply I'm on luvox for ocd but didn't get relief in my gad doc is adding lexapro with luvox can two ssri can be taken together is there any dangerous side effects? Plz reply
@@stmrp8622 I'm on now luvox and Effexor is if safe
You will need to be monitored for serotonin syndrome.
@@LevelheadedMind how my luvox dose is 200 ang lexapro 20 how should I monitored any advice please🙏
can i take vyvanse and ozempic together?
Yes , my endocrinologist confirmed this .
I have
I would think a common side effect or side effect would also be euphoria.
Definitely can be if abused or used in higher doseages than needed.
My Heart would stop before that happens!😂
@@rosemiller417 why?
For me I only felt the euphoria the first couple days I was on it (30mg) but also I felt so tired. Dr thought fatigue was my mind finally settling down. But I've also heard we get euphoria the first time we take it.
@@g-uy9meI can't speak for them but I assume cause for some people (and depending on the day) vyvanse can have unwanted side effects like anxiety and high heart rate, so in those times I feel like if I were to exercise I might get a heart attack (just the heart rate makes me feel like that but I doubt it.)
So sometimes the thought of a higher dose equals anxiety. Sometimes I put half my capsule in water and throw out the rest because at times I wonder if 60mg is too high a dose for me.
Here in Australia we have very terrible supply issue for the Lisdexamphetime / VYVANSE!
Is that the same for you?
We can only get either 20 or 70MG
I was on 30 or 40MG and now jumped up to 70 as that’s the only ones available.
Any insights of these supply issues?
The global shortage is starting to resolve itself, although periodic shortages may continue throughout 2024. Best thing to do is ask your doctor to issue prescription scripts more frequently (weekly/bi-weekly) to account for any time medication is out of stock. Then you’ll reduce the chances of running out and always have a new supply ready to collect. If you’re on 40MG and only 20MG is available you can prescribe 2x 20MG capsules to make up the 40MG dose. Likewise, you can split a 70MG capsule into two to get approx. 35MG - although this is less advisable unless dissolving in water. It’s unusual to see a sudden jump to 70MG from 30MG or 40MG. Dose increases are typically made in increments of 10MG. 70MG is the highest dose and you can open yourself up to the risk of abuse if it’s too strong for what your body needs. Side effects such as euphoria become more apparent in higher doses and it can lead to dependence.
Yeah I heard that! A few months ago my pharmacist told me they were out of 50s but I was just put on 60s in time I guess... Maybe it's cause it's recently been put on psb or because it's the first line treatment for adults with adhd, with more people being diagnosed too.
@@OiOiSillyBoi thank you for your sound advice
there are still shortages in Melbourne
Vyv f me up ..what’s an appetite
Did your growth stunt?
I started vyvanse very slowly . 10mg , felt drowsy .only 3 days.
Then I took 20mg for 3 days in a row. I was so tired , while driving I felt the need to pull over and wanted to sleep.
So I don’t really know if it’s going to get better , it doesn’t work. Or I really don’t have adhd after all, which was disappointing as I had hope for this as an older diagnosed female
I experienced this with Vyvanse as well but not with Adderall, which for me works much better in that regard.
dear dr Rosa.
Don't you know what's going on in medical schools regarding the dominant control big pharma has on the this institutes in every way from the learning material you've learned aimed to make a Production line of mediators between them and the general poblic by producing "doctors" ?
didn't you find it bizarre that all illnesses are idiopathic and the "only" solution is that chemical or the other ?
because a lot of doctors picked that up during their school years from all the censorship and the unwilling to give them persuasive answers for just about anything.
or that you know exactly what I'm talking about but you just decided to go with it and be a happy part of the crimes against humanity for greed industry ?
Brother, this is an informative video on Vyvanse. Why are you here being angry about big pharma? Go somewhere else and get mad about that. Christ
So what's the Cadillac of all ADD non-stimulants that wont make you feel like a zombie? thanks
