Just started on it and early days but it really seems to be helping... I'm feeling much happier and more productive and I think people are noticing! Haven't had any side effects either fortunately.
This feels quite biased. You barely covered the potential benefits at all. This is an important consideration when balancing risks. I also think the risks are overinflated, based on metanalyses that have been done on this topic. The really serious effects are rare. Important to note - but rare. The serious impacts of untreated ADHD are important to note, and it isn't here. For me personally, I really failed over many years to shift things my behaviour and skills approaches alone. I couldn't stick to anything and just felt like a failure as a person. The medication seems to have helped me make better use of and be able to implement the behavioural resources. I do worry a lot about the risks, but at this point, things seem to be going much better for me.
Thanks for all of your wonderful videos. How can one who used to take methylphenidate for a long time then stopped it abruptly because of shortage of the medicine in his /her country? Are there meds that could alleviate craving and withdrawal symptoms?
Thank you so incredibly much. My question is can magnesium glycinate be taken with an antidepressant and also blood pressure medicine. I took some magnesium glycinate last night and it really relaxed me.
Hi there and thank you for watching! Yes, Magnesium can be taken with antidepressants and most blood pressure medications. You will need to be careful with Calcium channel blockers and Magnesium. Also, since Magnesium can also lower blood pressure it is possible that your BP medication dose may be reduced. So definitely discuss this with your doctor. I am glad to hear that it helped you though as it is very effective for anxiety.
Hello Dr. What you can do if you have ADHD and develop TOC just after swallow a pill of Ritalin?? Or after few days of taking small dose of Ritalin?? Obsession with intrusive thoughts that consuming hours of your days!!! Please Dr. I went to many Dr. Already but you seems like to know more about this than them.
I am sorry you are experiencing this. This may have a been due to overload of dopaine in the prefrontal cortex or even the basal ganglia. If it does not go away with time, then see a therapist to work on CBT for OCD and other techniques to help decrease the impact of those intrusive thoughts.
This was very informative in regard to how Ritalin works and the possible negative effects of taking the drug. Maybe the video title could've been different to reflect this. It is very important to know the possible negative effects/risks when deciding to take Ritalin. I have personally found Ritalin life-changing. Diagnosed only several months ago (in my early 50s), and starting meds a couple of months ago, I finally feel like I'm a productive, fairly intelligent, responsible, happy and nice human being. Prior to this, it was quite the contrary. I am aware of the risks, but they are risks I'm willing to take because this medication has been nothing short of a miracle for me. It's literally saved my life. Once again, thank you for your easy to understand video. 😊
I am young with no preexisting condition with a low dose. I don't have any side effects. People only build up tolerance if they use a high dose for more then 2 years.
After getting covid-19 my ADHD and Narcolepsy has gotten much worse. Many may have this problem and don't know it. None of my doctors figured this out in over 40 years. No one test for ADHD and Narcolepsy unless you ask for it.
Alcohol acts as a potentiator for D-Methylphenidate doctor, it boosts plasma levela by 40% and when taken together they fuse and become a new novel metabolite via the liver called Ethylphenidate way stronger than normal Methylphenidate. So saying alcohol reduces the effect of Ritalin because its a relaxant is not accurate at all and in high consumption cardiovascular side effects increase as much as the buzz.( I imagine a single drink or something with dinner is probably safe, but high consumption is risky)
im curious if this can help those with low dopamine. if methylphendate only block reuptake then what if all of the dopamine is already transported to the post synaptic?
@@Ritzy87 some say it can be a little "too fun"😉😂but no, I'm mean different side effects. My friend took 60mg instant release and it put her to sleep. I couldn't believe it. You, me would be on the verge of coming! I got a good deal. No zombie, no freeze, just a sort of euphoria that settled down with massive focus
Retalin changed my life. I am a normal human being now and have a better connection with my family and I can love and care for my daughter.

I literally pay attention to the class and answer every question without doing something else. It was a superpower
I know what it does for me. It allows me to live more normal life.

@@LevelheadedMindI agree with the comment above, you should be more objective
I can live 10 years in one year now that I'm medicated

yes, you can talk to your doctor about taking Modafanil which is another type of NDRI stimulant.
@@LevelheadedMind Thanks you so much. The problem is that Modafinil is not available in our whole region, not just my country 🥲
It has totally changed my life for the better❤

Are there any interactions between Methylphenidate and Third Generation Antipsychotics like Aripiprazole?

My situation also....someone help us
Does wellbutrin and ritalin interact?
Hi, I've taken both together with no problems at all. Which are you currently taking? :)
@jamestrentham8576 just taking wellbutrin but I like Ritalin alot lol
@@Ritzy87 sure, I only take stimulants, best for me: methylphenidate.
