      SSRIs are toxic trash. The FDA just admitted that SSRIs are useless for depression.

    I am not sure why several doctors never suggested Buspirone for me. They just kept trying various SSRIs or SNRIs. I did my own research and suggested that my doctor prescribe me Buspirone, which she was unfamiliar with. I have been on it for 2 weeks now and it's helped me incredibly with social anxiety and OCD, way more than any SSRI/SNRI. Thank you to whoever developed this miracle drug. Wow! I've been on Buspirone for two weeks now for anxiety. You are spot on with the time it takes to feel any improvement. I am still dealing with the dizziness side-effects but it is not severe. Gabapentin has no effect on GABA. It’s name has gaba in it because it’s structurally similar. However it works on voltage gated ion channels. It has very limited effects on benzodiazepine withdrawal but it may be useful in preventing seizures.

    @yosif8235 2 года назад +22

    I love it. Well spoken. Buspar (Buspirone) is not fast to work. At all. The only thing that came quickly was my fixing my sexual disfuction. If you give it time this drug will clear your mind because half the brain fogs come from an overload of unnecessary anxiety. If you see that some studies in Japan claim it's as good as Ritalin after time mainly cause the anxiety doesn't get in the way. However it can also not work and also if you go into mania or start craving the opposite sex of any kind it's a red flag for bipolar disorder. It's all trial and error and it's your job as a patient to be brutally honest with your doctor and nurse. Tell them everything even if it's embarrassing and tell them why this or that is so frustrating to work with and uncomfortable side effects.
    I appreciate the knowledge and your editing is getting much better. Some drugs work miracles. Some drugs cause other problems. In the end you are just getting one step closer to being a better you. Keep going and it will pay off. I realized substances like alcohol or illicit drugs was never the problem. The mind is. Once you get a hold of the right medicine to keep your mind balanced I promise the bad habits will be like kindergarten. A thing in the past you cannot relate to anymore.

I was recommended Buspar by a friend and have had mild side effects like spaceiness in the brain, dizziness when I move quickly , and suppressed appetite (which is good in my opinion) but it did right away start helping my my anxiety. The side effects got better after 2months. The longer you take it the more stable you become. When having panic attacks and debilitating anxiety you need a medication that works right away, not something that even in Medical Journals says this medication "Might help" with Anxiety but can take 2-12 weeks before I might work. It's like having a medication that will stop a heart attack instantly but doctors refused to prescribe it so they prescribe you a different medication that could take 2-12 weeks to stop the heart attack you are having at that exact moment

      Insomnia can be a potential side effect, just make sure you take that second dose 8 hours after the first. So if you take the morning dose at 07:00 a.m. then take the second dose at 3pm. That should help. Also make sure you are incorporating a good sleep hygiene routine, as lack of sleep is present in both anxiety and depressive disorders. It will be hard to say for sure since different people will respond differently to these medications. In my video on serotonin syndrome I discuss the signs and symptoms to watch out for, so just be aware that you are at an increased risk of serotonin syndrome and watch for potential symptoms. Keep in mind though that because Buspar is a serotonin stabilizer it can actually turn down the extra serotonin in certain areas of the brain, so risk is minimal.

They have to be withdrawn slowly otherwise you have withdrawals worse then the benzodiazepine in my opinion. They gave me Seroquel which was like having a frontal lobotomy. I’ve been taking 2mg of Clonazepam for three (3) years now, for my anxiety, and 30mg of Temazepam for just about a year for insomnia. I do not take them every day, maybe 2-3 times per week. Sometimes when I am truly exhausted and workout I do not need them. I’ve gone a few weeks without taking a Clonazepam or Temazepam and never had a single withdrawal symptom.
      Yes, benzodiazepines can be addicting because they work so well and so fast but one must be aware of this and do whatever they can to mitigate a possible pathway to dependence and addiction.
      I have tried numerous SSRIs and SNRIs and ended up in the emergency room twice after taking one pill. I’ve sworn antidepressants away and would never take one again. Now for others it saves their lives! This is just my experience. But Buspirone was very helpful in controlling my anxiety and I agree with the many commentators that Buspirone has been a godsend. Also, knowing I can stop taking them with no side effects was the main reason I decided to commence treatment.
      Best of luck to all and I wish you all health, happiness and success!

      I was thinking the same thing. I was told I can take it right away and should get relief right away but it will get even better over time. I only got 5mg to take 2 times daily. I’m really hoping it at least does something right away.
