Yeah, the prices of a lot of Amazon devices seem to have jumped up a fair bit lately. Last month, I was looking at getting a full size Amazon Echo speaker, but then I noticed that the price had shot from £89.99 to £109.99. That's a 22.2% increase! Your advice is spot on .... don't buy any Amazon devices until they're on sale!
You asked what we use for streaming - I use a NVIDIA SHIELD and have for years. Thanks for your videos! Keep up the good work.
We have ditched our Amazon Firestick devices and stopped our Prime Account as well. We bought the NVIDIA Shield Pro a couple years ago and use it on our primary TV. More recently on our other TVs we are using the MeCool KM6 and the UGOOS TV Box. We use all the devices with Launchers and don't deal with Adverts! Thanks for exposing Amazon. We appreciate your getting the word out!
Own 4k firestick and firecube 2nd gen. Have set up many sticks most recently the 4k max HD which was £38.99 in a sale. I've never purchased full price as like you mention they're frequently on sale. Everything is going up in price nowadays so why not amazon devices. Shop smart and you'll be fine.
I live in Spain and have a firestick 4K max, I have not noticed the price hike as I am not looking to renew yet but am waiting for a new one to be released depending on price. Keep the videos coming always enjoy them from you.
I have three Fire sticks, two 4k and one HD. I no longer use any of them as over the years the user interface has become crap. I now use Chromecast with Google TV sticks. Have loaded all the apps I need and there are two advantages; I can cast from my pad or phone any downloaded content and I’ve selected “App Mode” which removes all the clutter.
I agree Google Chromecast 4K is way better i own both as well
Glad someone has done a video on this. I’ve noticed how much the price is creeping up. In fact, the whole Amazon streaming thing is not what it was. Costs going up. Sneaking in adverts. I’m thinking about ditching prime altogether. So yeah, more info on other non Amazon products appreciated. Good video, hope you’re well.

I have fire sticks but got my 2 nd gen cube for 54$ not find Amazon devices anymore. I got a formuler z8 and z10 buzz x5 and a TiVo 4K at Walmart for 20$. Amazon prices are just getting ridiculous and they keep changing our devices. Great video. Thanks, for sharing.
@@jerramiemcgough2459 it’s a shame we don’t have Walmart here in the UK. Personally I’m not very familiar with those devices but I’d try them. Especially the way things are going with Amazon.
@@PezPerry I believe Amazon sells them for $49 but I got lucky and it was on clearance. Definitely agree about Amazon and the TiVo is an great device for $20.
Currently in the US Lite $19.99 3rd Gen $24.99 and 4K Max $34.99 on sale. I just retired my 2nd Gen Amazon stopped updating it. Replaced it with the 4k Max. Keep up the great work

You are correct a lot of Amazon prices have shot up and the third party sellers they us to deliver a lot of there items free if you are a prime members now 50% of them Amazon charges you and deliver has gone from one day delivery to two days or they say that it will be delivered the next day and don't deliver it until two days later really bad 😞

I mainly use fire sticks, but I have Google TV and several Roku devices. It looks like the fire stick pricing hasn't changed in the US and they are all on sale/offer right now.
That was the first time I laughed at his joke. It is so painfully true.
I'm finding better value off the Chromecast right now, dropping down to £25 very often and the fact you can pretty much clear ALL Apps off the device doesn't half help it
And of course batting all the horrendous Amazon Bloatware away (not even mentioning the Stealth updates, shudder.....)

I recall a couple of years back, Amazon employees were complaining about the horrific work environment in the warehouses and shite pay. Public outcry started, and Amazon suddenly ran a huge public campaign bragging about how they raised everyone's wages and gave or offered rather nice benefits. Someone has to pay for all of that, and that someone sure isn't Bezos; it's us. This, in my not-so-humble opinion, Is why so many prices have gone up. I bought a few of the Alexia "smart" sockets to control lamps and such on offer at 5.99 USD ... they are now a "limited time deal" at 19.99 USD on offer from the retail price of 24.99 USD.
Would love to see more content other than Amazon stuff. With the RK3588 now on the market, I think there is going to be some interesting devices that might even push the Nvidia Shield

The last Amazon Firestick I bought was the 4k. I just purchased the new onn 4k with Google TV for $19.88!! I love the device and it will replace my older non 4k Firesticks.
They all went up in price about 4/5 weeks ago. I grabbed a few of each 4k and max when on sale.
I got a fire tv 4k max for £38 last week on Amazon. I have 4 fire stick and will be cancelling my virgin tv package saving me over a £100 a month. Love your videos😊
They'll all be back on offer, black Friday / daily deals etc. Same with the Echoes and Amazon tablets.

In the USA at several stores Target, Best Buy etc, 4K Max is on sale $34.99
Yeah Adam? in the US the Max is selling for 34.99, The Lite for 19.99, 3rd gen for 24.99 and the Cube for 124.99. Here in the US devices and tv’s have remained first cheap. Food & rent haven’t however. I have a handful budget devices, The Onn Android & Google, The TiVo Stream 4K, The 3rd gen stick and 2nd gen stick.
Day to day streamer of choice is an Apple TV 4K (2022) but I do have a Firestick 4K Max which is used when on holidays
Over past four years I’ve bought about 20. About 10 are still active on TV’s I use. I also have an Android TV and a ONN device. I have not paid more than $25 for any of them and only upgrade when on sale
I have a 2nd gen Fire Cube, an Nvidia Shield, 3 Rokus and a device I made myself. I think I got the Fire Cube for $79 on sale about 18 months ago.
Right now, 5/11/23, in the US, the max is 34.99 and the lite is 29.99.(in Cincinnati, Ohio)
We have a firecube and fire stick 4k, a standard fire stick. We also own a Echo show 9 and 3 5th gen echo dots.
I have a Roku TV, Apple TV 4K, Firestick, I use Amazon TV, and Netflix for the majority of my streaming but I don't find that much on the Apple TV is has hardly anything I want to watch so I rarely Apple TV or Firestick.I would enjoy you covering more topics other than Fire TV sticks.
I set up my RCA Vinyl player to play through my Amazon Alexa today. I bought a £7.99 bluetooth receiver/transmitter and sent the signal to Alexa bluetooth via RCA. It's not the best sound but Alexa app has bass, treble and mid range settings. I like that i can use Alexa to control the volume :-). I know i was shocked too 🙂 But like i say not brilliant sound but i'm no longer a loud music man. I just like my retro stuff. 🙂 🙂

I ONLY buy Amazon stuff when on sale. These higher prices are a common trick by sellers, to make their "sale" prices sound more spectacular. After all, saying WAS £50, NOW £5, sounds much better than WAS £7, NOW £5

Maybe price rises are Brexit linked ? Just before Brexit i bought an item from Liverpool it was a pool table it cost 1,900 euro delivered a few weeks later same item would cost me 2,500 , firesticks are not made in the UK so getting them in UK now has same issues i would have in buying my table today .my bet is if you look you will see other prices rise from Amazon and from places outside of UK in general.
Thats right, Im from India and thats what the price is in Indian currency. I regret not buying last year when the Fire tv was literally half the price, 1500 RS. But I wasnt using a wifi back then and had no idea about the benefits of internet TV and smart tv. I have to buy it for 4000 Rs now, it's worth it, as I will save that money by cutting the Dish TV, and the monthly bill will be only for the Wifi. It is worth it even if it was more expensive coz imagine the comparison with Smart TVs or compare with the Airtel Xtreme box which requires separate monthly recharge and they dont update their software and may have already blocked all third party apps, so the Fire tv is really a big deal. I dont go for 4K coz it's a scam really, we can hardly tell the difference between 720 and 1080p, and that too for 50inch and above sizes of screens. Don't waste your money on 4K 8K, or even full HD. Spread awareness. Mind you it is still 20% discount consistently, as the original Price is 5000RS. So, I am not gonna wait for the sale which happens at the end of year from October. It is consistently on 20% discount.
Also bought a jvc android TV and was very surprised as I was able to load my iptv app straight on to it via downloader

I purchased two Firestick Max 4K at different times like months apart. One of them turned out to be an old Firestick 4K whenI finally installed. Both had the newer remote and not sure what happened.
I have the Firestick 4K Max and an Android TV box. The A95X II, a really good box.
Myself I use a ROKU, one big reason is that I can get my cable tv on Roku and not Fire Stick. This saves me more than $10.00 per month per tv. But that being said, I have equal number of both as there is one of each on all our tvs.
I usually buy a firestick 4K max when they go on sale, I have 2 myself, but if you buy them when they are on sale for $35, they make a great gift for family members that don’t have one, and I get the otg cable & a thumb drive for external storage.
I own one Fire TV cube and several Firesticks, bought them all whenever they go on sale. I check the prices regularly so always know what the prices are and were 👍
Totally screwed in the Rep of Ireland I'm a prime subscriber but when the Amazon devices are on sale they won't ship to the Rep of Ireland , total rip off priced at €76 🥴 4k max
Me and a friend thought about the Firesticks... But, for multiple reasons, we went the 'Pure Android' route, Chromecast with Google TV - £45(New) each -eBay

I went from a AC Ryan back in the day to Roku to GoogleTV 4k to Nvidia Shield and next i wanna go full NAS haha. Never had any version of Firestick though.

I purchased the Fire TV Stick 4K Max streaming device, Wi-Fi 6 back in Dec. of 2022 at a cost of $34.99 (USD). It is selling for the exact same price today. There is a RED BOX with the word DEAL next to the item so I don't know if that price is for a limited time or not. I wanted to add something. I had the older model an this model has Wi-Fi 6 in it. My other model had Wi-Fi 5 in it and the new model is MUCH faster. It's also 4K which is fine but I don't have a 4K tv at this time.
I have 2 fire sticks in Australia, Amazon has just lifted membership to $79 and have put limits on new fire sticks not allowing to add third party software.
I think I'm right in saying that the processor is the same across the whole stick range but not sure about the cube. My last Fire Stick 4K Max I bought toward the end of last year. I think it was part of a sale & in addition I got advised that I could return an existing SD stick that I bought about 2 years ago, for an extra 20% off.. In the end the new 4K Max cost me around £25 & free delivery with Prime. I think the main advantage with the Firestick is not the device but the Amazon store. About 18 months ago I bought the then new Chrome cast stick which was no longer just a casting device. Performance was better than the Fire stick but the Google store for Android/Google TV just was so weak in the number of apps, I've put it back in it's box & not used at all (eBay here it comes). Thanks for these sort of videos when it deals with non technical issues & yes I'm surprised the product has gone up so much.

At the local Tar-j , here in San Diego ca,they have them from around $20-$35, I bought mine like 4-5 years ago at $35, I was prepared to spend $50 , but my old one, just factory reset and its fine,so maybe GB is charging more, some prices though in GB, are shockingly low compared to ours for some things.

I’ve also noticed that sometimes when the firestick goes on sale the unit does NOT incl the power pack so it is actually not cheaper

Mainly got it to stream TV for my parents but currently trying to put launchers to make it really easy for them to use
What are launchers ?
@@markhunter9179 launcher is something that firestick will launch into when the firestick wakes up or when you press the home button
The default, normal launcher Amazon provides if full of sponsored ads, and my parents would get confused on what go click
With launcher you can choose something which has easy navigation and big buttons as apps
I particularly like EmotnUI launcher
Normally the 4K is $44.99 US but it goes on sale for $24.99 - $29.99 every couple of months. Current price hike in the UK is because of part shortages and I heard the shipping strike affected it as well.
Could be Taxes in UK, or just Amazon raising prices. In the US, right now, the 4K Max id $35, the 4K is $32, the HD is $25, and the Lite is $20.

I own a 3rd gen fire cube, and 1st gen fire stick 4K, and a 1st gen Apple TV 4K.
I have two fire tv 3rd gen pendants, an Nvidia Shield 2015, and three Google ADT-1’s, two running stock lollipop and the other pure nexus marshmallow. Really like the fire tv pendants but just ram into problem loading Sling TV. Won’t finish setup telling me internet needs to be checked, while all other apps work fine. Wish someone can come up with a way to get my Recast to work on the Shield too.
I've 4k firestick, a 2nd gen fire cube, and a Toshiba fire tv. The built in fire device in the firet v, the storage is almost equal to that of the fire cube.

I now us the Apple TV 3rd gen 128GB it knocks spots of the 3rd Gen Cube.

I have a question for you though. I'm considering getting an assortment of different streaming devices and connect them all through an HDMI switch (selectable 4 into 1). I was going to power the streaming devices all with a USB charging block combination data switch with 7 ports. Each one has its own power switch to control which one I want to use. Next to each streaming USB port I was going to install a memory stick to swap the data into. I was thinking that by powering up a streamer and stick at the same time, It would work well and I wouldn't need to unplug very often.
This is all because of another youtuber called UGT. He did a video of someone he's familiar with that posted 250 legit streaming services and what firesticks they work with on his website. So my thought is that I might find enough streaming sites that will require lots of storage and I don't want to keep swapping out devices so the 4 into one HDMI switch can control the choice of device but the USB switch can link it to the memory stick. I will probably start out with Roku 4K and the Firestick 4K for now and choose another if there's anything that I can't install on either/both of them.
Can you please advise. My young grandson has a non smart tv in his room can I load his favourite movies on a Firestick so he can play them without him getting access to online material. Thank you.

My comment disappeared so I will redo. I bought a r oku u ltra from usa in 2016/17 and it is stil going strong. It wont run i player but everything else works ok. But the thing is I bought it on e bay because outside of USA only old versions of these are availible. since I bought mine from the new range of r oku, there have been five updated versions and they have never been sold outside of the US. The only place to get an ultra s on a mazon or e bay
