@@markcampbell6320 I did a search on IP Vanish to check how many shell companies deep they are and as it goes, I think it only went two levels down before finding the owner company. Many other VPN providers are hidden under layers and layers of shell companies.. so when you come across those, they are actually government owned. I still use IP Vanish to get around geo-location blocks, but I also use PiVPN everything else. (I use PiHole as well for good measure)
Great idea for going out on the street & doing a survey. I still have the ip vanish deal for life that is $5 per month 😂

Nothing to worry about if you're not selling "modified" fire sticks, especially given that it's not illegal to own one. How much money are the authorities spending on properganda in an attempt to scare people from using apps like Tea tv or Bee TV.

My wife knows I use my fire stick for watching side loaded apps and said that she came across news that the authorities are clamping down on fire stick users.
I told her that she's not to worry because I don't supply the streams or make money and the authorities are only after those that are illegally making money by supplying copyright material.
She said if I get caught then she's nothing to do with it.
So there you have it, the properganda is working to a small effect on the ill informed or easily scared.

Agreed 100%. Sky now make you watch ads or you can pay extra to not have them come up. That’s on top of your monthly subscription. It’s just plain greed while the shareholders make record profits.

Prosecuting individuals for watching pirated films online whilst 3/4 of reported burglaries and car thefts were left unsolved last year, and knife and gun related crimes rates continue to soar indicates a misguided sense of priorities within the force.

It's all described wrong the firesticks are not being modified or hacked. It's a app subscription.. can use on any device. So much bs scare posts but nothing they can do

I use Kodi with Live TV Addons and I haven't. I do use a VPN but I use a Free VPN Proton Free VPN. Pirating isn't gonna go away anytime soon especially with Prices of everything going up and up and never coming down.

This is why i love my edge firewall box. I can set up multiple 3rd party VPNs and route specific streams through different vpn providers. If i have 3 iptv subscriptions on a particular streaming app i can send one subscription to IP Vanish. Another to Express VPN and another to say PIA even though all of the subscriptions are under one application like IPTV Smarters. Technology will always be a step ahead. 🤷♂️
The only Firestick users that are at risk of getting a visit, are ones who bought the loaded firestick and had it delivered, and the seller kept their address on record. The police aren't going to be able to get a warrant to get information from an ISP to see if somebody has been accessing something they shouldn't.
and you know it's a load of arse when they say 'modified' Firesticks. Installing software onto the existing operating system, isn't modifying anything. It's like saying you've modified your PC by installing the Amazon Prime Video app..
I know for a fact that there are people sideloading iptv apps onto firesticks, then selling them on for £50 to £70 because it has iptv on it.

and the people buying them are the ones who may get a visit as there'll be a paper trail of where they were delivered to.... buy sideloading is just a word for installing software without going through the official channels. Loading an APK onto an Android device or loading an application on a Firestick, isn't modifying it. It's not been jailbroken and it's still running the Fire OS.

This article, and articles like it, are purely designed to scaremonger. Millions of people are illegally streaming, and will be for a long time. I think what we pay for fast broadband should include some sort of IPTV package!

As far as i am aware, in the uk, it not illegal to veiw or watch streamed media. It is illegal to permanently download it. It is illegal to upload it.

Been using an android box for the last 10 years, no one has knocked on my door- I live in Spain and even the post office can't find my pad!!, so are they really going to bother looking for my house? I doubt it. I really resent the fact that the likes of sky are ripping everyone off for huge sums of money. Like you say in the old days you paid a subscription for everything, and now you have to pay subscriptions for individual sports, that's taking the p--s, I know I'm breaking the law but do I care that Meryl Streep or Denzel are losing out by pence because I'm streaming a movie with them in it?, no way, it's Sky who see the cash!!, I bet they don't hand over much to the "artists". Or amazon can stop manufacturing them. However i will still pay for prime because of the discount and next day delivery so amazon have cornered the market by having their streaming service combined with their delivery service and then everyone buying their hardware to avoid paying their competitors. All English comms and HD or FHD quality. The usual UK channels for the rest of the sport I need. Not bad for £6 a month.
The tactic of trying to scare the user isn't anything new.
Back when torrents took off there was articles warning people they were going to go to jail for years or face financially crippling fines for downloading content when in reality all the law enforcement was focused on taking down the owners of torrent sites and groups cracking software or ripping media and distributing it..
Same with music downloads, same with DVD bootlegs and VHS before that and even audio cassettes.
It's not an unreasonable tactic from the point of view of the industry looking to prevent IP infringement, scare the users to drive away potential revenue sources for those distributing the bootleg material.
Why the media disseminate these obvious fake claims about Joe Blow being hunted by the law who knows.
Firestick has become a generic name for streaming even, as you say, you may have another brand - exactly the same as saying ' I'm going to Hoover the front room ' when you might have a Dyson, Electrolux or whatever - it's just a convenient way to lump them all under one name,
What about those users who pay both legitimate services such as Sky sports and still stream and pay for the illegal services for Saturday 3pm kick offs? Technically no one is losing any money if the games are not even available in the UK to watch legally.

I have had warning via BT for file i downloaded many moons ago stating all the info regarding said file. How it infringes copyright. So your isp clearly are able to detect your traffic. VPN may well be best bet. Thanks for the vid keep em coming

If the IPTV app is using peer to peer technology they you are not just watching a stream, you are also providing a stream to other users, providing a stream has far harsher penalties than just watching.

You can get past the 3.00pm black out by paying for a legal streaming service in another country and use a VPN, I used to pay for RUclips TV and I got all of the games. I had to pay about £80 for the privilege, but I did get all of the US channels

UK police need to get a life. In the USA the police that are left aren’t going after violent crime so the chance of one showing up on a streamers door step is zero, notta, non existent.
