- After a recent update from Aamzon, there has been an increase of Firestick users stuck on the loading screen. Meaning the Firestick doesn't boot up and gets stuck in a loop. Here's a video of what maybe causing the issue.

If you've done everything correctly and the device is bricked then Amazon should replace the item free of charge.
They refuse to admit it
This happened to the fire stick in my son’s room earlier in July. We did have the fire stick powered up using the USB port in the TV. I tied everything I could think of for an hour or so, including plugging the power cord into the wall. Finally the next morning we tried it again and after about 20 minutes, it finally worked. Everything was fine, no issues since then and all APPs were working.
We have all three of our Fire Sticks powered this way. But the one in my son’s room is the oldest.
Had the same boot loop problem.
Tried everything that was recommended (with no success) until I decided to replace my Amazon USB plug with a USB plug not issued by Amazon. THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM.
This compelled me to conclude that the update certainly effect the the USB plug.
It’s really messed up of Amazon to have their updates breaking devices making people think they need to buy another. This happened to me, but I kept my fire stick because I figured since it was an Amazon issue Amazon should fix it somehow. Now I’ll definitely be calling them and asking them for a replacement. I knew it was there update this just confirmed it. Thanks, great video!
No different from the Apple updates slowing your phone down every time. I threw my FireStick into a drawer 2 weeks after I started using it and that was one of the first models ..... bought an android box on ebay and never looked back. I now have a 4Gb/32Gb box and it flies ..... can load it with anything ... tons of space.
They are so easy to use ...... never did like the idea of tethering by Amazon.

my firestick has just done this i called amazon who stated that my device is out of warranty and all they can do is give me a discount if i buy 1 from them or pay for a repair I've just seen your video and will be calling them back and will demand a replacement so thanks for the info 👍
My brother had the problem a few days back. I went up there today and installed his new fire stick because that was his solution .(He is not technically enept) . I had absolutely no idea that any of this was going on. Until I started the research today after I got home I took the old one here. Tried everything I could find on the internet and RUclips. I ended up taking the fire stick apart and trying to find some sort of a strap or something that I could reset. Nothing.! So I guess now I'm going to have to explain to him that it's not his fault and maybe he can get a few bucks back from Amazon because of their ridiculous update. There should be some sort of a class action lawsuit in my opinion.
I set all 3 of my sticks up using the plugs, leads and extenders as instructed, so obviously this means using a hdmi port rather than usb.. I’ve had the update that now gives me more ‘profile options’ than I could ever need so I guess I’m up to date and still operating (sorry for going on 🤣)
I have two Firesticks 4k (since 2018) and a 4k Max recently and have always used the TV USB port for power but you must ensure that it's labeled 1A (1 amp the same as the adaptor output), many TV usbs are only 500ma (half an amp) and not suitable, especially for updates.
Weirdly after yesterday's (26th) update on the 4k Max my remote went haywire with rapid uncontrollable scrolling and movements. I had to remove the batteries several times until it eventually worked normally 🤔.
Happens to me 😢 luckily unplugging it and turning it back on works for me👍

Hi the issue I been having is it says I don't have no Internet connection but its connected? So every day I have to restart my stick buy pulling it out for about a minute then it works again till I go to sleep and do it all over again 🙃
It this happens to your device after an update, like that one on july/august 2023, ask for a replacement device. I got it after insisting for several weeks, even when my device was out of warranty and after refusing their "discount" offer.
Checked my 4K Max for updates a few days ago, update download began but didn't finish. Moved away from update screen and watched some stuff, checked back later, update screen still hanging. Checked later that day, all good update downloaded and installed, no issues. Same thing happened the following day. Not had any issues since, stick is plugged in without extender and using the Amazon USB plug. Amazon need to speak up and own the issue.
I can see a future Class Action suit incoming …..
I get stuck on boot screens and get internet error pages on fire stick. I unplug it from the outlet and wait 5 minutes for the fire stick to run out of power then plug ot back in and it works.
My problem is paramount plus doesn't work on my 3rd gen cube and I'm on the new replacement cube with the same problem. I don't think they test updates before they send them out. If your tv doesn't work like it use to unplug it when you go to bed and plug it on the next day. When in doubt unplug it lol
Love the channel and have been a subscriber for what seems like ages. Some time ago there was supposed to be an update that installed the Live TV icon. I am still waiting!!! I am in Thailand and I was thinking that could be the problem but a few of my friends here have it. Is there any way I can install it using downloader or have I just got to be more patient. It is driving me mad!!!!

OMG! ...lol..I had such a disagreement with someone over this! Wow! However Amazon only wanted to give half price but no full price and that stick was unfixable and I did most of what your showing here. I do know the firestick at one time had a 2 yr warranty....not anymore,so according to who ya have helping you at Amazon you may have to buy it out right. However it's not our fault so we should get a full refund. Thanks for the info,now I know I actually did loose the argument it got stuck in the loop on it's own
Mine has been updated and all is fine so far. I use my FS most of the time so it would be a right pain if it bricks. Great videos as always. Thank you 👍😃
Hey Tech. You know, I just experienced this problem today. Although I have a brand new TV, the Amazon system was working before you uploaded your video. The TV I have has required Netflix, Disney, HBO Max, etc., I wanted to keep this old Firestick because it has a problem that I can still use. Anyway, I'll use your suggestions to see what happens. Hi, I'm from Australia, and don't have this item, but, have google internet with similar, and I want to know how to control their websites. It is very confusing and need more information about this. It runs from my Epson Wifi projector.

When our stick did it, it was plugged directly into the wall, had a rock solid WiFi connection, etc.
I removed the device from the HDMI port, tried it on another tv with a direct connection to a wall outlet… nothing
Tried every flipping thing under the Sun and nothing worked. Fortunately, I had replaced 2 of our Firesticks with Nvidia Shield devices so I had 2 spare sticks.
Plugged in one of them with all connections rock solid, let it update, and it is working great. Tossed the unusable stick in the trash!
I had this problem was watching a program and the fire stick went off and all that came up was the logo I turned off the e internet and the extension cord which had the FS plugged in left it for 10mins then turned it all back on had no problems since I am in the USA so don't know if it will work the same as the UK

Is "Willy Nilly" an industry technical term? lol. I don't see a resolution for a locked-up Fire TV. None of the listed causes would apply except for a Wi-Fi failure and I'm certain that people all around the world didn't have a Wi-Fi failure at the same time, lol. It's more likely that Amazon had a transmission interruption that caused a firmware lock-up. If they can't use their built-in back door remote access to solve all these problems, then they should replace all the devices they damaged. I will never use an Amazon device until I have it behind a firewall with ad blockers and anti-tracking software. It seems to be time to step up to Nvidia. Thanks for another great presentation. I am curious why you didn't share the process of gaining access to the update controls through the developer options. I don't remember seeing it in your playlist, but I've seen so many that I just don't remember if you have one or not.

Who is it that has the videos for use with the keyboards. Im glad for your video as amazon is trying to gaslight me. And this update happen like feb 6th 24. And i thinknmy internet was out at this time, and since it wont pass the logo screen wont connect to internet to do anything 😢
For me fire cube 2nd generation and fire stick 4k max, unplug the power adapter that came with each device, fixed the boot load issue

Screw their updates! I never update, because they are working on telling all the old users that their unit are too old, and they need to buy a new unit!
Every time I try to contact support I only get put in a Comment section , never customer support

I have tried all the different methods even the og cable holding the different 5: buttons on the keyboard and it's still did did not work contacted Amazon customer service after 1 hour of them going back four after they tried to get do all the different methods mentioned in your video they declared that my fire stick faulty so they replaced it
No issues for me. I do plug my FS into the mains. The only issue I (still) have is with the sound on my 4k stick. Sometimes when I boot up there is no sound, and rebooting seems to be the only answer.
No problems here either. Of course it's going to fail with improper voltage. Updates consume a lot of CPU power. I suspect the update is not the problem.
Yup I second this.. I bought one in February and now it’s a brick Amazon can’t help all I got was a discount on a new one

Ended up having to replace the Firestick
I recently gave my daughter my 4k firestick I deregistered it and it was working perfectly, when she got it home it was stuck on "connecting to network" and worse of all the remote has unpaired so I can't factory reset it so frustrating and it was plugged into the wall and had plenty of power , any idea what I can do I've brought it home and still the same
We haven't got an android box review in awhile.
So i just went through chat support as my 2019 stick is doing this. They said they have made a note on my account can order a new one then request a refund from customer support. I believe it when i see it

My Firestick update stops at UPDATING screen with a bar showing about 1/4 of the way done... and that's it! The remote is useless.. no effect trying reset etc. I tried all 11 steps to correct- plugin to AC ; another HDMI; waving over my head and screaming like a chicken! Nada! I contacted Amazon - I might as well have been talking to my wall. Finally I just purchased the LATEST Fire Stick and I am adding more memory to it.

I have 1gb full fibre, my TV is next to my router, do you recommend Wi-Fi 6 or hard wired for the firestick ? I know it’s slower speed wired but what’s best, the speed or stability of hard wired ? Interested to hear your opinion , many thanks

I've had one of my fire sticks do this I think it was because I used the port on the plasma TV which even switched on and off every time it tried to update its Freeview planner. Mostly the remote control wares out which cost as much though !
I had 2 firesticks no end of problems...changed to android box and will never go back! Easy to set up faster and you can use a keyboard with it.
I up dated my stick Thursday seems ok mine is always plugged in to the mains and on a extender after the update date I cleared cache to all apps and turned it off left off fir a bout 2 mins reboot back on seemed ok not a fan of Amazon updates
Amazon won't replace the firestick unless your firestick is still in Warrenty
Just updated mine and the title screen last at least a minute before moving on.
Was so afraid to stay stuck.
But the stick is on HDMI port, so powered on the wall plug.

Ive 3 firesticks and ive only had trouble with one. The two that have had no problem were the top ones Amazon sells (the UHD 4K MAX), my other one is only 3 months old and its the (Lite).
It was powered by the adapter cable and plug that came with it but still after the update refused to go past the boot logo.
I left the Firestick running through the boot up menu and eventually it did go past it. Since then i have wiped and reset it back to factory settings, ive stopped the updates and although its still a bit slower at least its usable.
The only thing i can say is be patient and let it boot up multiple times, eventually it will get past it.
Cracking video as of yet no issue for me and I hope not because I watch most everything from my firestick

USB 2 has .5 amps while USB 3 has .9 amps. Power it from USB 3 if possible.
Mine too is having this issue. However, I have a Sandisk 128 gb flash drive (with all my viewing apps installed on it), fitted via an OTG cable. When I unplug the drive whilst this is happening it will boot up, but when I plug it back in again, it goes straight back to that dreaded start up screen. Have they “messed” about with my flash drive content during their update, and do I plug it back in again in the hope they’ll eventually do a fix on it?
Hi Roy. How are you powering your Firestick? It’s likely that there is insufficient power.
Before replying I’ve just tried it again (note: I’ve always had sufficient power before!), using different configurations on 3 different TV’s :-
On all 3 TV’s, Firestick will start normally and proceed to home page, using an OTG cable via the 5V USB port, with both the power lead that came with the Firestick, and a 5 meter one bought from AAA Products ( after much research, knowing about the insufficient power issue. It has served me well in India, even with their dodgy voltages!).
However, as soon as I insert my Sandisk Ultra USB 3.0 with the homepage displayed, after about 5 seconds it goes back into “boot loop”. I tried a new OTG cable yesterday, but no different.
Is it possible that the latest upgrade somehow corrupted the flash drive, or the apps on it?, and is it possible to transfer some of the apps back onto the Firestick hard drive?.
my firestick won't restart unless i exit out of it to another category like my antenna channels after i hit the restart button. i stay in another category for a couple minutes and when i return to the firestick it will then restart.
Mine bricked 23rd Aug, nothing fixed it. I had it powered by the supplied power plug. Amazon support were no help. They said I should buy a new one?

I watch this channel mainly for the jokes, but also to find out just what dirty tricks Amazon's Fire TV is up to.
As an ex MS Certified Engineer i find some of Amazons excuses hard to belive.
With this latest Boot Loop issue this is caused by corrupted firmware, either there are bugs in the firmware
or the affected devices were unable to complete it and without root access they are bricked.
At least Amazon will replace them, you just need to talk with the right person.
Best of luck to those affected, this is the price we pay for a world full of electronics just waiting to fail.

One of the recent updates caused my sound on apps to be out of sync

Mine worked after removing HDMI extender .
Mine updated this morning. Half of the app icons are grayed out with an x through them. Plus, my personalized top row of apps is totally different
Plus, several apps, including Express VPN, aren't listed on the home screen or when you click the apps icon. I have to use the search function, like I want to download it. It has open under the Express VPN icon. I have to do that for several apps every single time I want to use the app
i noticed there was a problem when one morning I turned my TV on and firestick was stuck on the logo for ages, found out days later the digistick was faulty (or was it). Either it was one of the latest updates or a fault somewhere else. So I had to format the digistick and now got to remember what firestick apps i had on there, thank you Amazon (NOT)
I think it's a power issue - It it was a software issue, everyone updating would be effected which obviously is not the case
My Toshiba Fire TV crapped out and I am suspicious that Amazon may have caused this with these useless updates. The board is fryed. 😢😢
I power mine through my TV so just checked & luckily it's OK but I did read about this a few days ago but this wasn't mentioned as a reason
Because of an issue with thus problem in the past, I always have my Firesticks and Cubes plugged in via plugs, not via TV USBs, I would advise others to do the same
Sorry to be ignorant, but how would I do that? Plug my FS into a socket and not straight in the TV? TUIA 👍

We don't use Nvidia shield TV pro. We only use Roku devices in our house. I personally use the 2020 Roku Ultra because it's far superior than the Nvidia shield TV pro.

i got a 4k firestick in may 2023 stopped working on the 17th aug i brough it back too currys no help if you dont have a recite they will not help

This happened to me about 3years ago. Could not fix it. I got in touch with amazon and complained, and they sent me a new fire stick. I do hope it does not happen again.

Noticed now I'm using my Firestick again picture freezes at start of streaming and at times the picture reduces into the top left leaving the rest bright green. Usually fixes itself but wondering if these are also glitches in the update
As a Mexican descendant I can tell you that was a brilliant joke. However, you should tell jokes at the end as well. Just to lower my blood pressure because AMAZON, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT useless updates.
Odd, maybe i haven't updated since then but i just used mine today without updating it. I always use usb power on my 2019 samsung tv with no issues. It downloads updates but waits for me to install them.

Both of my firesticks had this problem. Which was fixed when I used the amazon original usb plugs.
I started experiencing the looping logo screen for about 3 months then My remote stopped working and then about a week later my firestick stopped working altogether my TV doesn't even read it
Yes since updating it just keeps freezing on visual but keeps running audio, bloody annoying

So, it happened to me this morning before work and was still stuck when I got home. I unplugged it and it was working just fine.
Block amazon updates. Get the nvidia shield.
I blocked updates and use wolf launcher.

My second gen had an update, I think it has the latest available and when it enters screensaver 2 mins later the thermometer icon comes up. I have bypassed it several time by pressing the "HOME" button 3 times. Amazon need to stop. The fireos 8 update was forced to most fire tablets and resulting in mine bricking. I hate amazon
Yes I have 4 firesticks. Two of them just stopped working. Won't reboot. Can't get pass the booting screen.
I've fixed 5 with using a earthenet adapter plug it all in wait a few minutes and good to go it's because it's looses the WiFi if the update gets interrupted
