I have Nvidia Shield TV and the Pro. One the first of every month I completely disconnect the Shield, power and hdmi and leave it while I'm at work. I disconnect my modem for thirty seconds and reset it, and I reset my router network. It seems like a lot of work, but the results are worth it. Since I've been doing this I have had zero problems of any type during the month.
What you show here are the same basic options everyone else shows and I have tried them all, still get buffering on 3rd party apps. Also tried to use background apps and lists ,, but said not found. So I could upgrade to the max , but instead will upgrade using the U green hub. I will have to do some swapping around though as my modem is connected to my computer in another room and my firestick is in the front room tv. So I will move the modem and use the ethernet and u green hub to the firestick. Its a little better than amazon adaptor ,, faster speed. If it works like I want it is cheaper than going to the firestick max by $10.
I was watching a programme that was buffering like hell making the programme unwatchable. I tried lowering the quality down to the minimum and hey presto it worked fine. I could hardly tell the difference - better than missing the series. Any other suggestions are welcome.
To be honest, most problems with buffering have disappeared. Not because things magically got better. It’s because if it is something that is going to buffer a lot, such as your latest shows or best series tv etc, they simply don’t let yet you have access to them. So watch all the crappy stuff without buffering.
Question my dad and big bro we all have fire sticks in all 3 rooms but every thing is buffering it’s like you can watch something but it will pause for a second than restart where it left off at and not stay in rythem of what’s on tv and sometimes one of the tv can be ahead of the other tv what eve we are watching like football or anything and then it will go black until you turn back and forth and it’s been happening for a while now what you think we should do ?
No. Buffering is caused more by the things mentioned in this video. You can't add RAM memory anyway. You can only add storage which will only give you more space. It doesn't help performance in any way.
@@CordCuttersLI thx for reply. I deleted many apps. It appears to help. Won't know more until sports are on tonight. I also jist hooked up ethernet to see what happens.
Another action to try is to turn off your phone and/or tablet internet in their settings and use your data package instead of searching off your router.. this appears to help especially if your phone etc is closer to the router than the fire stick and grabbing your bandwidth
If you just invest into an adroid TV box that has alot of memory, you'll never get buffering either, I don't understand why so many push the firestick ??
Hi Mr cordcutterLi I'm interested in your video that explains how to install Rd account, on firestick iI was looking for it but idnt find it on your page
I purchased the RD through your website and when I input my payment it said that the card information was wrong but the payment came through the card. I feel like I've been scammed. I need some assistance.
Yes, definitely! If you have an older one, you should definitely check out the 4k max. I'll be your best friend if you buy one with the link I have in the description of this video. 😊
As i watch TV Series like CSI Vas Vegas, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, CSI: Cyber, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, NCIS, NCIS L.A, NCIS Hawaii, Hawaii Five O, FBI, etc so I need to know where I can Download a really Movie/TV site without using a VPN And I Live In the Republic Ireland.
The only way I would stream without a VPN would be to use a paid official streaming service, like Hulu, RUclips TV or the like. You can go to justwatch.com to find out which streaming service(s) have all those shows. You may need more than one.

I don't have a lot of buffering, but I do have no streams on live tv or if I try to stream tv. Is there anything I can do to get streams in when I know they are there?
Are you talking about Live TV or onDemand content in an App? if Live TV, a different VPN Server/City might help. If onDemand, maybe real debrid if your app supports it. Look on my website for more info on that.
I tried the xtremity provider that you reviewed and everything was running smooth this month until the payment will not go through and their 24/7 support is nonexistent. Does anyone use them or know what's up with them?
So I use a VPN or did I have them for a long time matter of fact I throwed my money away on it because I got tired of it throttling I mean I like a 158 .2 as far as speed goes and throttles me down into the '20s and 30s how do you keep that thing from doing it I mean I even try to get ahold of the express VPN customer service and see if they can set me up the write server that couldn't get it figured out either I finally got tired of them give an excuses on why it couldn't be done just gave it up just frustrating just a huge waste of money I guess that's all boiled down to they got paid so they don't care whether it works for me or not
In my experience, IPVanish does a better job of maintaining speed while connected than ExpressVPN or NordVPN. Give it a try (my link is in description), but make sure you cancel before 30 days if it doesn't work any better for you, and you'll get your money back. Nothing to lose, right? Going without a VPN has far worse circumstances. Good luck 👍

A few questions: What model Firestick do you have? What is your download speed when you run the speed test? Have you checked for recent updates? How much storage space do you have available?
@@CordCuttersLI Thanks for the quick reply. My Fire stick is about 2 years old. My download speed is 97.66 Mbps and I do all the updates. My storage space is around 2gb available. I clean my cash out every few days. I often do hard restarts and unplug my fire stick for 90 sec. every week. Also my modem. Any suggestions? Thanks
@@invoxicated Okay, all that looks great! The only question you didn't answer is, which model Firestick? If it's the Lite, the old non-4K or the old 4K, if say to upgrade to the 4K max. If it's already the 4K max, something seems wrong. The only thing I would suggest is to try a different server with your VPN. Does it buffer with AND without the VPN connected?
@@CordCuttersLI I think it's the old non 4K model. I also have no VPN as I heard it slows the performance down. Sometimes it seems sluggish and other times it seems fast. I wonder if it has anything to do with Internet traffic. Also aren't we in need of more band width?
@invoxicated if you have the old non-4K model, that's probably 99% of your problem. I would say to get the 4K max NOW, but it's currently unavailable as Amazon is about to announce another new model (within days).. It's definitely time for an upgrade. Your bandwidth is plenty. As for the VPN, I'd never go without it, and although it does reduce bandwidth a little, you have bandwidth to spare at 97MB. 30 or 40 is enough. IPVanish is the fastest and would be my recommendation. It's on sale for another few days (maybe a week, not sure). You may want to get IPvanish now (if you do, please use my link in the description, I'd greatly appreciate it), but I wouldn't bother installing it on that old Firestick.
