People forget what Pelligrini did at Villareal and Malaga - built teams with little to no money and took them to the champions league and in the case of Villareal to the semi final. He's one of the best managers in Europe and probably prefers a team like West Ham where he won't have asuch pressure than a top four club and can build over time. If he gets 3 seasons West Ham will be a problem
Jaydeep Bose yea true, and eventho they are investing, they aint buying stars. To get that team to the championsleague spot is an achievement not many can achieve
age doesn't normally matter but when you're nearing 70 that is pretty old even for a manger. he was ok at city given he easily had the best squad and money to spend. nothing great. we'll see how he does with west ham then.
As a Man city fan I'm so happy West Ham have gotten Manuel Pelligrini West Ham fans have always respected Manchester City even in our shit days I wish good luck to West Ham
I play Football Manager like Pellegrini. I try not to bog down the squad with too many tactics, just play fluidly and let the technical players win you games. It's probably not the most ruthless way to manage but when it works, it's beautiful in its simplicity.
One of the most underrated manager ever! He always brings no.10 role player to every team he managed. Possession, attacking with 'Interior' wingers working with full backs to cross to final third. And also 'Offside Trap' specialist. Just let 'The Engineer' working along his plan and you'll see beautiful football from West Ham.
And now we sit 9th. One loss in the last 7, 4 wins in a row with the premier leagues worst injury list. If we make Europe, after that horrendous start, Pellegrini must be included in the Manager of the Year conversation
it's strange to say but we are actually feeling optimistic since his arrival, he's not going to do it all in his first year but I really hope the Davids stick with him and I have no doubt he can lead us to challenge for a top 6 place.
No one gives a shit about arsenal its so boring if they made it because what they do is nothing special and tifo knows this they'd rather do a tactical video on a unique team that does things differently.
@@arjitjere7951 Everyone knows they're different but what they do is nothing revolutionary if you know what I am talking about. This channel only shows tactics of teams that do something unique.
was wanting to see an analysis from you of west ham and days later here it is, extremely high quality videos with great tactical analysis that are easy to understand. keep up the good work!!
Could we get a video on Rodri "Rolls Royce" Hernandez and probably one on Bisquits (Busquets) to compare and contrast? I find it very difficult to follow those sorts of players. What exactly do they do?
+@@liamc8102 Chicharo beat out players like Benzema, Berbatov, and others consistently when given the chance, when i saw beat out i mean scored more goals. Sure he is primarily a poacher, but when you compete for the golden boot with Lewandowski while with a mid table club, you are world class. Chicharito>every forward West Ham has
Surprising they're not doing better this season: new signings and a new manager, one who's experienced in winning the Premier League. They're missing that small piece of the puzzle that will take them out of the lower part of the table to contending for a top six position. It could be the use of the inverted wing. Zapaleta is getting older in years; he might not be up to the task of playing the inverted wing - it does leave that huge space in their half vulnerable and they might be conceding more goals that way. I'm not that surprised they got defeated by Liverpool, but they should have won the match against Arsenal. They had a one-goal advantage; they should have protected it. For an attacking club, they should be getting more goals. Something about the attack at the front is a bit off. Arnautovic is being misused. There's too much on his plate. He is the targetman, the goal scorer, and the creator and wing player. Too many responsibilities on his shoulders. The other forwards and midfielders and wings have to step up. They're not working as a team. In the West Ham-Man Utd match, I caught him signalling frantically to Anderson to pass the ball to him. Anderson passed it a fraction too late and he missed giving a perfect assist to Arnautovic. Otherwise, Anderson is terrific, especially in midfield playing. He just gets his playing a bit wrong sometimes. Antonio is pretty useless. I wonder why Pellegrini doesn't use Little Pea and get him to work with Marko and Yarmolenko as a front three striking line. Then Marko can work the wing more, which I think is his best natural position. From there, Marko can do assists. He's good at crosses. Either Yarmolenko or someone else can ram them in, running forward. Something is going wrong with West Ham's game, and I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's the team not used to playing together, and things not working out. I thought the club had good harmony though but I could be wrong.
I watched the first half of the Brighton-West Ham match in detail; the problems are two-fold: 1) Anderson is not doing the assists from the wing. He must penetrate the wing almost to the goal line and do the crosses from there. Instead he is doing the attacking in the middle, using the through ball to Arnautovic or one of the strikers. This is old-fashioned and used to be what Spain did and what Mourinho clubs still do. The type of wing playing that Arsenal do is more effective. Pellegrini must switch from the center attack to wing attack. The wings are always less well-guarded than the middle. 2) Not defending the goal well. When the opposition have control of the ball and are in the attacking half, West Ham players must sprint to their goal and form a wall in front of it. By then, it is too late to man-mark the opposition players or even tackle them for possession. The best thing to do is to get as many bodies in front of the goal and prevent entry to the goal from the front and from the sides, and to do this as quickly as they can. If there had been 10 bodies in front of the goal, Glen Murray would not have gotten that goal in. This defending problem is a common one in clubs. There is no attempt to build a wall in front of the goal. Too few players track back to their goal to defend it. So there are two tactical errors in West Ham's playing: one in the attack and one in the defending. So despite all the money spent on new players, the club's performance has been inconsistent.
Great video, i'm seeing this from the stands... what is obvious to the crowd is that Declan Rice is going to become one of the most important midfielders in the PL, he could even emulate Michael Carrick given time and patience.
Have you done an analysis of the 70's Dutch teams that reached 2 WC finals yet won neither? If not, I'd love to see it. All the best. I really admire your work.
Diop is looking like he has the potential to be a world class player and I think Balbuena is at least a decent Premier league standard. We've still got Ogbonna and Reid(injured) . Our problem is at full bavk. I love Zabaletta as he always gives 100% but, he's getting old now and teams often single him out. Masuaku is an accident waiting to happen at full back. He can sometimes get away with it playing wing back, but not as a traditional left back. He can't hack it playing there.
My suggestions: Pioli's Fiorentina, Giampaolo's Sampdoria, and an update on Gattuso's Milan (now with Higuain). Inter-Milan is next, and then Inter has to Face Barcelona, tho huge matches (and then Lazio, it will be a difficult week)

It depends on the available personnel. For example, I think Spurs should play a back 3 if they want to use Trippier because he is not athletic enough to track back when he has burst forward. If you have Full backs who are able to defend as much as they can attack than a back 4 should not be a problem. Obviously the midfielders you have also play a big part.

I wish Chicharito would start.. but now West Ham's system does not favor the style of play where he flourishes
He can only score at 6 yards? Arnie is much more diverse, high work rate and can actually put the ball at the back of the net. Arnie > Hernandez
