Not really Barcelona will jill them in the counter because the defenders are out of position and the midfielders in defense has no chance against our attack
I am an Inter fan and I can say this tactic is only effective in Serie A because this league is very focused on tactics. If the coach says to mark a certain player then it will actually continue to be marked until it is finished . This is the basic of Inzaghi's crazy position switch tactic to disguised opponent marking and create a space
I can tell ya one thing u are a great observer..serie A definitely is the league of tactical plays and focuses mostly on counter attacks with beautiful one twos and crosses
"An exceptional and highly insightful analysis! Congratulations. 👏 As an Inter fan, I can say that implementing these tactics requires very specialized players. Great work, finally someone made a good analysis on Inzaghi's tactics. One thing to mention is the wingbacks are always acting as wingers at the start of any counter attack, where they end up having scoring chances especially in Dumfries case.
this type of tactic has kinda been thought of for a while, in the last minute of a match u can sub your gk with a ball playing midfielder to keep chances coming. But it’s really risky which is why it hasn’t been done yet
Basically what teams did in the 50's like the famous Carlos Alberto role. Its quite funny to see multiple teams today play the systems of the 50's and utterly dominate with it.

As an inter fan i say that inzaghi must stay as long as possible at inter. He is a very wise man, he knows tactics and football better than anybody else moreover he can adapt to every situation change without saying anyithing but working with what he have.
You explained very well and in detail Inzaghi's tactics. I would also like to see Ruben Amorim's tactics, especially now that he will go to Man United.
Amazing video once again, very intriguing tactics used by a brilliant manager. I also feel Gasperini has a shout in being super attacking. Can you make a video on him?
I followed Juventus's team from the late 90's and watched the forward trident of Zidane/Del Piero/Inzaghi. Naturally, I was interested to see what his brother Simone was like. Unlike Guardiola and Conte, never would I have guessed that he would become a good innovative manager. Happy to see it.
Limone was quite similar to his older brother in terms of playing style - that one-touch play strikers that hang around opponent's offside trap. It's just he wasn't as ecstatic as his older bro. He was tall at that time period for a striker (Limone was 185-186 cm, Pippo around 5 cm shorter) but not as strong as his height suggests, although he often used that this height advantage to his favor.
Inzaghi is the only real revolutionary of this decade. I hope he gets his Champions League. Easily the best team in transition. They are incredibly fast and synchronized to get the ball up
Great Analysis mate, This approach is very similar to how Xabi Alonso implements his tactics at Leverkusen and how Ruben Amorim does at Sporting CP. It would be great to see a video comparing managers who use the 3-4-3, 3-4-1-2 and similar formations, highlighting the tactical similarities and tweaks they use !!.
Inzaghi is only few coaches beside pep who innovative tactics and new way of football..or at least use classical tactics with refined touch but this is impressive as it's looks like .. amazing stuff .. inzaghi is so underrated.. dont the get enough appreciated from the footballing world ..

Hansi do buildups too but he depend on how his opponent plays. What differentiate Hansi from other coaches is that he uses multiple tactics to achieve one single goal like launching of offensive attack, when his opponent press high he either uses pivots to help or number 10 player to assist in receiving the ball or he use flanks to attacks by his fullbacks. If opponent doesn't to do pressings, Hansi wants his CBs to launch long balls either to number 10 or one of his front attackers. By the way Hansi prefer one of his CBs to be right footed(RCB) and LCB to be left footed.
I dont understand why you have so many little subs, this is the kind of quality content I was looking for. you deserve more recognition

Football innovation is always gut-chilling! Love to see such things keep happening. Pep does a lot of it, but more managers are becoming more innovative. Also, I just discover this channel. Loved the FM references!
Everything here makes so much sense. It's almost natural if you get it. Like if you know your teammates you almost don't even have to explain what the next move is if you understand the basic concept. But as an opposing player who is in the middle of it, it's difficult to realize at least for a split second who is coming at you and what they are trying to exploit until it's too late.
Great to see managers being innovative and having the balls to adopt such tactics in the cut-throat world of football. The technical skill of these CBs is incredible too, to be able to pull of such neat touches and passes.
I think I saw a glimpse of this tactics in Arsenal vs Chelsea last weekend on Sunday ... When Saliba delivered a cross like a winger in the final minutes of the game
Very surprised by how quality this video and analysis was. Dare I say, one of the best videos on tactics I've ever seen. Keep it up mate and you will explode
IMO, this tactic is only able to be Applied if he knows his players so well, understanding after years of being together. His knowledge about his players is so deep. A new manager in a club would never do this tactics
As an attacker knowing who ur man is makes it so much easier to mark and notice when ur in the wrong position or whatever, if suddenly u see a different man close to u you’ll panic and think where’s my man and you’ll start looking around confused, even if u know this is their tactic it can mess up up cus ur teammate might follow their man to their new position and leave someone free or if they let them run they’ll be available for a pass in space momentarily
It seems like zonal marking just shuts this down though. Instead of worrying about the opponent, just hold your shape and you'll have the favourable matchup (eg. Your cb defending their cb who is shooting). Hold formation, show them the wing, and don't over press the defensive ball player. Do those 3 things, and the other teams constant switching probably turns into more of a liability
Of course they do. Why do you think football became "boring" too watch? Each manager knows what they other manager is going to do, and here where players' quality comes into play.
@@yahhou-9564pretty sure their analysts can make better breakdowns than RUclipsrs, but I'm sure some do occasionally watch this stuff when they're bored 😂
@yahhou-9564 Now I'm sure that's obviously sarcasm but yuh never know just cause they professionals doesn't mean they see everything plus they could give the exact same results but in a different way that might open up something that the other wouldn't have gotten cause they used different words
3:12 the centre back who's running behind the ball is not the left centre back, but the right one, and that means that the right centre back is running in the position of a left attacking wing. Even more crazy
What's the difference between relationism and total football? the total football played by the Netherlands and Ajax teams of Renus Michels played the same way with fluid positions where you would see Johan Cruyff come down all the way to the CB position and you would see CB's play as strikers, wingers play as midfielders and defenders, etc. and with the goalie playing like a CB at times? Is relationism just a part of the whole total football style?
What'a really impressive about this is that this is not the kind of tactic you can try to make work with any team. You can only do it if the players in your team have certain abilities, like CBs that are deceptively fast and can cross and being good headers, or CMs that are good at defending, also FWs that have the personality and stamina to accept to fall back and defend. You probably couldn't do this with Real Madrid or Barcelona, or even Manchester City. Inzaghi pretty much created this basing this way of playing specifically on the team he's being building for years and the specific abilities and attitudes of its players. And that's the mark of a great coach. I'm not an Inter fan and I honestly thought Inzaghi would have crashed and burn when he first joined. I have no problem admit I was wrong. The man knows football.
Italy's been trying to adapt to this style of play, due to how many Inter players are usually in the starting 11 (Bastoni, Acerbi, Darmian, Frattesi, Barella and DiMarco for instance). This "out of the comfort zone" is something you could have seen in the Croatia Vs Italy game at the last Euros. If you look at the starting line-up, you'd think it's a normal 4-2-3-1, and it makes sense: of course Italy would have a back 4 in defense. However, when you look at the players, you notice something strange. First of all, Italy had somehow managed to accomodate its four fullbacks (leftbacks DiMarco and Calafiori and rightbacks Darmian and Di Lorenzo). How? Well, Calafiori can also be a great CB, so he was placed next to Bastoni like what happened in the previous Euro games. Then, DiMarco was put in the midfield, which then meant that *RB* Darmian had to cover the left. Thus, out of four fullbacks, only Di Lorenzo was playing in its "natural" position. Moreover, on the right wing, there was Raspadori. Now, Napoli had tried all season long to experiment a line-up where Raspadori served as a winger, so it wasn't completely random for coach Spalletti (who was a former Napoli coach after all) to place him on the wing instead of using him as a "False 9" like he'd typically do. And then, the subs came in. Two of them were Chiesa and Zaccagni, who are *both* left wingers. As such, Chiesa was put on the right, as Italy looked for an equaliser. Which came in with a beautiful play that saw Calafiori and Frattesi exchanging the ball, all while the first one ran further deep on the field before passing it to Zaccagni, who was well positioned to score a beautiful goal. Sorry for the long comment, but I felt like sharing this.
This strategy reminds me a episode of Inazuma Eleven where the coach used defenders as forwards, forwards as mid-fielders and mid-fielders as defenders.
Great videos man,can you do the most wanted Ruben Amorim and I suggest you to keep on watch Gasperini (Atalanta),every summer the club solds the best players and yet he manages to qualify for UCL and beat Liverpool and Leverkusen last year.
This is a flexible tactic indeed, however the problem with Inter is they don't have real playmaker who can break enemy last defensive line. This create too much dependancy on the tactic and less creativity on the attack especially when facing discipline or low block back line defense.
What's even crazier about this tactic is that each player needs to fully understand their role. A small mistake, like Zielinski not dropping back when Bastoni and Dimarco were covering the left side against Juve, can lead to a goal
Inzaghi is a wild man. Their build-up & attack are insane, ballsy, and genius. 🤔
