    It would be cool if Honda did a 2L 4 cylinder turbocharged manual gearbox FR layout lightweight Coupe or Roadster. Maybe both! Something like the BRZ/MX5 but turbocharged which is what everyone wanted the BRZ to be. They didn't even had to make a new engine just use this has it is it doesn't need any more power or torque its more than fine for a lightweight car.

  • @GSTRification
    @GSTRification Год назад +7

    To be fair, performance to performance GR Corolla core with performance package is all you need to compete with the type R. GR Corolla Circuit edition is slightly heavier with no better performance gain compared to Core model w/ pp. Having said that Corolla core model with performance package can be had for $38,175. That’s alot better performance per dollar proposition than the CTR. But I would still pick CTR over the GR Corolla due to the fact that CTR is still a better engaging car with arguably better stance, simplistic design in and out, and better ergonomics. Now people would argue both cars sold at above sticker. However based on my experience, GR Corolla can be had for a msrp whereas CTR is impossible to get one at msrp. Lowest I got quoted was 5k over. I have my deposit down for GR Corolla at msrp however within those waiting time, if CTR can be had for a msrp I would take the CTR

    I have had my fk8 for over 4 years now and never once was “embarrassed” to be seen in it. That comment was very misplaced. Looks are subjective….some people loved it and others didn’t. What I can say is till this day I get people giving me thumbs up and snapping pics of my car as they drive by.

      60K for a base civic...yeah insane. Not for the rare Type-R however. It's the last all gas Type-R, first time in a long time it's built in Japan again, and there will be less of these produced than the previous 10th gen FK8. The FK8 had mark-ups on it till the end of it's production run, it will be no different with the new FL5.

    • @BigBear--
      @BigBear-- Год назад

      @@nthgth the Bose system is a big improvement over previous 10th gen's "premium" system. But if you're really into audio, custom is always the way to go. Just not sure I'd wanna add all the extra weight dynomating the entire car...and losing the trunk space to mounting all the amps, sub(s), and cap(s). I guess if you wanted you could do a minimalist install, and hide most of the stuff.

      These cars aren’t about straight-line speed, and the difference in shift speed would be negligible for the overwhelming majority of use cases. Tenths of a seconds matter IF you track your car often, maybe. Otherwise, manual is superior for this car, hands down.

      No, an automatic Type R would not be as quick as a Golf R because the Golf R has all-wheel drive my friend, not even close.
      Plus the Golf R engines respond so well to tuning, you can easily make them over 400 horsepower and it will destroy the Civic Type R and gr Corolla.
