    I just got my Mars 2 Pro and Mercury Plus. Mars 2 Pro worked right out of the box first try. Amazingly simple to set up. And the wash/cure station where you can just dunk your whole build plate makes what is the most annoying part of the process quite bearable. Build quality on both are fantastic.

    2.0 is a big improvement over the original. No need to have the yellow cover in place for the wash cycle, and the basket now has internal support for the build plate, so no need for the separate bracket

    Hey there! I recently bought the Elegoo Mars 2 mono, specifically because of the review you gave it. What I was wondering for the washing/curing process is, how do you effectively dispose of the water/alcohol that you wash the resin in? I know you can’t, or shouldnt, just dump it outside since it’s a “toxic chemical”

    • @greedy3d480
      @greedy3d480  2 года назад +1

      DO NOT throw away the waste water without post processing.
      1) Cure the resin contaminated waste water with an UV Lamp or Sunlight.
      2) Filter the solid resin particles out of the waste water and dispose with the rest of your resin.. Supports etc
      3) once the water is purged I pour it away at the bottom of the garden

      I’m going to try to only use water washable resin, for 2 reasons,
      1. The alcohol, in the quantity, I would need would be extremely hard to find given the pandemic (which I think you mentioned in your review of the Elegoo Mars 2 Mono)
      And 2. Now knowing that there is the post processing it would make disposing of the waste 100x easier

    How easy or difficult is it to clean the wash tub afterward? I feel like I always have a good bit of resin sludge at the bottom of the hand-wash bucket that I'm using (just getting started with printing). IPA-cleaned resins seem to have more sludge than the water-washable, but there is still some. Any feedback on that after using it for a while?

    • @greedy3d480
      @greedy3d480  2 года назад +1

      Yes to be honest mind gets a little bit sludgy to even with the water washable I just take the plastic scraper every so often and spend 10-15 minutes giving it a bit of a scrape and clean that's all it takes really. Personally I don't have too much problem with a bit of sludge in there it's still does the job ok hope that helped

    Hi there, I recently got the same Mars 2 and Mercury setup with the Elegoo water washable resin and was wondering how long you generally wash and cure parts?
    I just tried 6 minutes of washing in water and although this seems sufficient for parts, the build plate never really cleans fully in the Mercury.
    Also discovered that the parts really have to be bone dry if you want to avoid the white haze/residue on prints after curing.

    • @greedy3d480
      @greedy3d480  2 года назад +1

      I give them about 4 minutes then brush the build plate top with a toothbrush then another minute or two. Pop the print off, and wipe with kitchen roll and it's done. I will then either wipe the parts with kitchen roll, leave to dry or use a hairdryer pre curing

    • @greedy3d480

      @@greedy3d480 Thanks for the reply, got another Q. I expect to use the wash in water resin and I've just read that this is not suitable and items should be washed in running water, is this still useful or would another be a better purchase?

    • @greedy3d480
      @greedy3d480  2 года назад

      Personally I have only ever used water washable with my Wash and Go station and have never had any issues there is a suggestion that over time the water will affect the fan at the bottom and Rust it but I'm aware that is replaceable the general rule also is you can't clean it under running water and then put the water down the drain it needs to be treated as in UV light filtered. I've seen quite a few people on RUclips wash their products under the tap and all of that resin then gets into the water system which is not recommended as it is toxic so responsible printer would not do this. Again I guess I can only speak from my experience I have never had a problem and it has served me well with water washable only
