This was my 2nd recording of this video. The first was about 40 mins long 😂🤣 anything with the mtv shirt was from the original video.
I saw at mon 5:12 you used another cleaner, kind of mean green... I heard someone say that he left it in the container for 2 months and it completely eroded the washing mechanics.... have you any idea of why that happened? I’m prone to use meangreen but now I’m terrified...
Bills fan,? Are you a fellow Buffalonian?
@@davidjoseph657 ROC
you did not buy this unit elegoo sent it to you
@@2wdr5 Why would he lie?
I just bought a Mars pro and the mercury myself I had been looking for a trusted review on RUclips for the mercury then less than 10hours after I purchase you post this thank you in now more excited
I've heard Anycubic already has a larger version of their wash and cure in the works. Good to hear the Elegoo is umping in this aspect of resin as well to help push prices down some.
Yet another awesome video!!!! Thank you for keeping up updated with all these new products!!! Keep up the great work!!!
This is the machine that made 3d printing fun again! I hadn't done much printing over the last year because the cleaning and curing process was such a pain in the butt and I always seemed to miss spots of resin or puddles of alcohol in the corners. On a whim I bought the Mercury Plus on sale (thanks Bezos) and obviously had to try it out... holy crap!
I wash with IPA for 4 minutes, remove the supports and then wash again for 3-4 minutes and models come out sparkling, a couple minutes of curing from different angles as per the instruction manual and I am a happy printer again.
Wow this is definitely suitable 3D printing machine I need. I love the idea of using the resin than filament, it really gives more mint result! Love it!!
I made a similar setup using a 30 dollar magnetic stirrer and some mainstays containers from Walmart. When it comes to the mean green tackiness feeling, I found putting it in another container with water after the initial wash got it off very cleanly and after curing it was very smooth.
Thanks Uncle Jessy! I’m sold, and I just ordered one today. Should arrived by Tuesday.
Already loved the channel and now you are even wearing a bills shirt! Love you man
Just got my first printer, so excited to start printing, also go bills!
We really need a wash/cure station that fits the Elegoo Saturn build plate!
@@tcideh4929 Oh, which one does?!
Aunt Jemima I believe it’s the elegoo Mercury X
Do you know if it fits the Elegoo Mars 3 build plate?
Its called the sun 😂😂
Excellent Review!
Jessy, you a bills fan!? What!? Now I like you even more. As a Rochester, NY native I've been a fan since I was a kid!
You do a really nice job making these videos. Thanks for the review/content.
Watching these videos showing the process of resin printing, makes me glad I use filament printers. What a PITA this must be.
I got the anycubic version a few months ago (before the elegoo version was released) it seems VERY similar (although it is slightly more expensive). I have a couple of Mars printers, so had to print an adapter....but it works awesome.
I'm just curious... have you found that you have to rotate the models and recure to get the bottoms fully cured? My prints are still tacky on the bottom unless I lay them on their side and run them through for another 3-5 minutes. I'm thinking of putting foil underneath the acrylic platter to help reflect the UV... Just wanted to see what your experience was/
GO BILLS! Great video, Made me switch my order of the Mercury Curing to that one instead!
Uncle Jessy, would you say you like this better than a ultrasonic cleaner? I was looking at getting a ultrasonic soon. I have a mars and soon getting a Saturn when that goes up. I was planning on getting a ultrasonic that would fit the Saturn prints. I kind of want to just buy one size cleaning machine so im not stuck with a smaller size unit if i upgrade. Im also trying to use only water washable resin going forward. What are your thoughts?
My table is an absolute mess. So this thing would give back like 75% of the table.
It’s for sure a space saver with it all combined in one.
Would love to see a larger one to fit prints from the Saturn
I wonder if that plastic container is custom. I've been working on my own washing solution using a magnetic stirring device. But Elegoo's solution is pretty cool. So far I've made a box with UV lights going around. I should add some timer to shut off lights off when done.
Hey! How well does it clean the inside of a hollowed print?
How often do you have to filter/change out your cleaning solution?
Do the build plate and resin tank fit in the container for cleaning?
It's all great you can clean your models but that still leaves the machine parts that need to be cleaned.
How do you clean the tank? I get a lot of resin that settles into the bottom of the tank and I'm having a hard time getting that out...
Hey!! I love your videos but I have a question, I’m about to do a print of thebrokennerd’s red hood helmet and I have a cr10 that I use cura with. I was wondering the best print settings (infill, layer height, etc.) for the print. I plan on using xtc 3d to smooth out the lines and maybe printing upside down for less support, any thoughts??
What do you do with your leftover chemicals? do you reuse it or throw it out? Thanks.
Can you leave the plastic tub in there with the lights on to cure any excess resin in the liquid after the wash?
I never know how long to set the curing mode for on my prints.
@UncleJessy have you tried to use the wash and cure station with elegoo water soluble resin, with water to clean and then cure the print in clean water inside the station? What were your results?
Does you process make the layer lines disappear? Is it denatured and water because pure denatured is toxic as s. Thanks
i noticed mean green keeps the prints a little tacky and shiny thought i was claing them eron but i see thats a doen sife to using it. how many washes until it needs to be replaced?
is anyone else having issues with the mercury? there's very little about it online but after just a few days of having my container filled up with ipa it started to warp to the point where the turbine can no longer spin. i contacted elegoo and theyre sending a replacement tub however im concerned that the same thing will happen again. if anyone else has had similar issues id really like to hear you opinion and whether youve found any fixes.
How do these type of machines (wash/cure machines) compare to an ultrasonic cleaner? Maybe a comparison video?
As someone new to resin printing, how do you dispose of your cleaning liquid? Do you change out the cleaning fluid with each print? Do you use 95% isopropyl alcohol? Considering a Mars 2 pro/Murcury plus bundle. Looking on amazon they won't ship the ini carbon filters here to California (Damn their clean air laws). Any alternative that are legal in California? I know lots of questions.
Obviously pour it in the local river.
I've got the Mars 2 Pro and the Mercury 2 in 1, goes that silver bracket get sold separately? I don't seem to have one with mine!
Do you cut the Mean green like 3:1 with water or just go straight mean green?
Hi uncle Jessy! Have you any idea or solution for the Saturn?
how long do they take to dry? I've just been manually drying all my prints.
I was just thinking about getting it
Since denatured alcohol is flamable is it safe to use in this machine? Thats the main thing im worried about since IPA might as well not exist where im living at. I've never tried mean green but im not sure if it is safe to use anything flamable with something like this.
IPA FILTERING AND REUSE
I use a cheap coffee filter and run my used IPA through it about once a week and that removes the resin. Then I can reuse the currently expensive IPA
Chris G I run the UV for about 10 minutes. This causes all of the dissolved resin to turn milky white. After sitting for a bit it all falls to the bottom of the container..... the I strain it. I currently use denatured per Uncle Js recommendation.
@Gareth not in my experience. Just filtering works fine
What liquid do you use ? just water and cleaning product or IPA alcohol ?
When you're done cleaning, do you pour all that liquid away? If that's the case, seems like a looottt of liquid waste to cure just one print?
Are you using denatured alcohol in the Mercury Plus bucket or just doing a spray and clean with it?
Does the build plate for the Sonic mini 4K fit in this wash station?
I have the anycubic version it works great as well however I believe it’s the bigger of the two
Hi great video, what wash and cure should I use for my sonic phrozen 4K?
Thank you!
Exactly like anycubics lol good review still a good machine
I like to buy the Saturn 2 but is there a wash and cure for it? If so can u make a video or provide links to purchase
Can i put both in the bottle water and ipa?to clean up
Not only can you clean your prints but this thing will do your laundry 1 shirt at a time. No joke I love in motels and the first thing I did with mine was my laundry.
Maybe rethink buying a resin printer when you live in a motel? Priorities? Maybe a washing machine?
@@cwill2127 i go home for about 1 month a year. i have a nice washing machine at home that never gets used.
Hey Jessy!
Will you be testing different Slicing software with comparisons in the future?
Which cleaning fluid u feel is best to use?
please, elegoo or anycubic 2.0 wash and cure is better?
What do u do with the mean green after cleaning prints ?
Is it compatible with the platter of the Elegoo Mars 3? Thank you
There's actually a sticker on the inside of the cover that triggers the sensor letting the machine know the top is on.
I already have the Anycubic version, which apparently are made in the same factory! 😬 I wish they released a bigger one for the Saturn.
yeah, I'll definitely wait for the Saturn version too.
I only dip my prints in alcohol is that ok?
I have one, and I super pleased to have it, makes the process of resin printing much easier and clean.
If you have not so much space ... "this is the way" ;)
Remember as Jessy say to put the acrylic cover or the unit starts to beep if you try to engage any function, I forget to do that in my second use and get me mad because I didn't read about that hahahaha "read the F manual" :))
Haha glad I’m not the only one. Will 110% be using this for all of my smaller prints now. Nice compact machine
@@UncleJessy ;)
How many times can you use the alcohol? Just for one "washing-process" or how many?
Do you replace the "mean green" after every wash? Do you use it straight? How does it compare to the Simple Green? (I can only find Simple Green locally, and use it at 1/4 strength in my ultrasonic cleaner).
Nope, I reuse it for a good long while. Not really sure on specifics on length as it might depend on how many prints you’re cleaning but typically I might go 2-3 months before changing. Simple green will probably work well with something like this since the machine really help agitate the liquid while cleaning
Love the video Uncle Jesse! Do you know if there is a chance to get a green elegoo mars 3 pro? I want to buy an elegoo but the green one :)
Hello! How much of cleaning product do you use? Do you use water aswell?
So... If I print a large Saturn print, It Will not fit in the washer???
I got and I enjoy it for now I’m using it for big prints part by part 😂😂😂
Piece by piece... now we just need a bucket version
What cleaning liquids can you use in the wash tub
Would you say that you prefer denatured alcohol of mean green? Also, can I request that you do a video on how/when to dispose of used chemicals? Cheers
Can anyone tell me how often i need to change out the alcohol in my washing station? Im only like 3 days into resin printing
Now we just need one big enough for the Saturn....LOL
Will the build plate metal parts eventually rust?
One question: Elegoo Mercury plus or Anycubic Wash and Cure ? Which the BEST RESULT for my Phrozen mini sonic 4K (pre order)
I hear any cubic better in wash. But not sure . Want hear it from Jersey. Want to buy one
Anycubic is available the Elegoo washing station comes and goes on amazon.de
I am thinking of buying both Elegoo for compatibility
after wash i need to wait dry then do cure ?
Do you know know how long we should cure and wash a print?
Random noob question. Do you just let the basket dry off on some paper towels? And just use it like that?
Is the Mars 3 plate compatible with the Mercury Plus?
thanks for the vid, what do you say? ELEGOO Mercury Plus or anycubic?
two questions
1. can curing mode be used to clean and remove resin from your ipa?
2. will they be making a bigger version for the saturn?

Hi, can i use for elegoo mars 3?
What's the name of the metal bracket or how can I find it on Amazon?
How does the washer work, is it ultrasonic?
How do you clean the tank?
Nice
Jessy, how are you dealing with color bleed when moving from resin color to resin color using the same bath?
I’m not really. It might be more of a concern if I’m trying to print clear resins but for the most part I either don’t see it or just paint over my orints
Could you use the Mean Green in water with the water washable resins?
I was also able to get the metal piece to work with an Epax too
Great review!
Resin disposal question: Have you tried using the curing function on the dirty, resin-filled water (i.e. put the bucket of water in and turning on the curing lights) the as a way of curing the resin in the water for easier disposal?
As someone who tried to put the bucket outside to cure with sunlight... please don't. The bucket will get resin on the walls, the spinning part inside and it's a mess to clean it. Fairly sure if the water was more saturated, it could've damaged the spinning part. Better to put the dirty water into a separate container, leave out in the sun or if the container fits, put it into the machine and hit UVs.
How much Ipa do i need for it? I have 64 fluid ounces.
What would you recommend for an entry 3D Printer for D&D miniatures?
The elegoo mars does an amazing job honestly. I've used just about every color resin offered from elegoo as well and all have great results. Whether you get the original mars or the newer models they both work just fine for 99% of anything you'd want to print as far as minis go.
I like using acetone, but not sure if that container will withstand acetone.
How do you know your print is fully cured?
Looking between the Mars and the Photon S. What would be the advantage of getting the Elegoo system that requires 2 different machines..vs..the Anycubic system that uses the same base and you just switch out the washing/curing tank? Any advice, pros/cons, etc would be greatly appreciated from anyone. Thanks!
The elegoo 2 in 1 is only one machine. You wash then cure on same machine.
Hi is resin cheaper than filament?
How does the LCD work ? obviously this is a refit of the anycubic wash and cure and the thing that annoyed me about that machine is not being able to set the duration of things (wash or cure)
Also, I think the lid has a sensor on the back of the machine or something because on the anycubic if you hold the lid over it low down it will work even if its not resting on the base... and there are obviously no magnets in the cover.
Can you cure during cleaning? Taking care of those residue remains in the water tank is cumbersome. Currently I have to put them outside to be cured in the water using sunlight. I just don't want to throw them out in the sewer.
Lazy Susan design looks more sturdy than on the Anycubic design. That‘s the only difference I see so far. Any difference in container dimensions?
