      I was thinking the same…this topic is usually discussed in a very sciency, practical way and focused on “overcoming” the challenges that come with PMS rather than being at peace and understanding it. I really felt peaceful and calm hearing your words!
      I’m going thru Lutéal phase now (why im here) and my mood is sooo down and I can’t get anything done at work 🥺 I felt so shitty and guilty but this really makes me feel better…I wish the world was a more supportive place for women and our biology and rhythms.

    You validated the feeling I get every luteal phase which is that the current system is not made for us. Its only tricked us into thinking we have some say.
    How should we cope with this anger and disconnect every month?

    I am so so happy I found you you’re speaking in the exact way I want to be spoken to and let me just say when you said that’s why we feel more “soft” I am immediately thought that was adorable. I spend a lot of time crying over my softness durning this time (and bloatedness) but now I’m just thinking about it how beautiful that is so thank you for that insight and I really want to do a lot of research on the history of the cycle because that was just fascinating it makes me cope with day-to-day life better

    It is very ironic that you posted this at such a time when I deeply needed it! Last year, I decided to fully embrace my body and went off birth control. After months of hormonal imbalance, I feel like I am beginning to become more balanced hormonally. Now that I am no longer on birth control, I have A LOT more dreams and I dream much more lucidly.
    I am currently in the luteal phase myself.. I am expecting my period at the next full moon. I have been very very tired and needed to take many naps. Despite this, I still find myself able to accomplish what I need to in my studies.
    Anyway, I’m not sure why I shared all of that with ya’ll but I have to admit I have been dreading these symptoms. Sometimes I have quite bad dreams, and I dread going to sleep. In fact, I just woke up from a bad dream. I have dreaded this phase especially because of the symptoms I experience. I’m not quite sure what I need to be learning from them, but this video has really reminded me to trust my body. You have reminded me to trust myself and accept that it is all supposed to happen. Thank you!!! Sending love & positivity 💛

    Love that you’re doing a series on the menstrual cycle and that more people are learning to honor it instead of power through it. It’s a gift that I can stay home with my children while my partner works. This way my family and I get to live in the natural cycles of the earth and our bodies. Keep shedding light on the power that bleeding humans have so we might all one day honor and live by it. 🌒🌕🌘

    I've been following you since before Bridgette was born and I have absolutely nothing against you, but I just had to say that your science isn't completely correct. For example, the corpus luteum is the ruptured follicle that held the ovum (egg), that's true, but it never leaves the ovary until it disintegrates. You combined the ovum and the corpus luteum by saying that it disintegrates in the fallopian tube. What causes menstruation is not the process of the ovum disintegrating, but the corpus luteum. When the corpus luteum has disintegrated, the production of progesterone stops. If someone ovulated and the egg became fertilized, the blastocyst burrowing into the endometrial lining causes HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) which then communicates to the corpus luteum to keep producing progesterone ("pro-gestation") until 8-12 weeks of pregnancy when the placenta takes over. Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler and the Fifth Vital Sign by Lisa Hendrickson-Jacks are invaluable resources that every cycling human should read. Sometimes you have to read non-spiritual books to find the most (correct) spiritual resources to draw on. If I didn't have the science, I wouldn't be able to connect as well spiritually. It's just a little thing, but Fertility Awareness is super important to me, and I feel it is a right (not a privilege) to understand what is happening in our own bodies. Also, if you are making this a whole series, I would love it if you could talk about how you experience the energetics of anovulatory cycles (a cycle in which you don't meet the estrogen threshold to ovulate, kind of a very long follicular phase, caused by adolescence, illness, travel, breastfeeding, coming off hormonal contraception, etc.), which I haven't seen anyone talk about. Cycle on!

    it's very confusing to me when you (and so many people) mention ancient cultures as ones that we should look up to and exalt them. In almost all ancient cultures women were sold as slaves, prostitutes and child-brides by their own families... Mesopotamia, Persia, Greece, Rome, ancient Asia, Byzantine, ancient Russia , Islamic cultures and vast mayority of indigenous were incredibly cruel to women and girls...Many of them murdered female children, pederasty and incest were pretty normal, mayority of women were treated like animals.. Women had to work very hard and for the mayority of them the only roll in life was to raise children and stay at home (and field) working...In so many of these cultures women were just one more "thing" in the housholds with many brides... I'm always in awe when people make it sound romantic and exalt the ancient cultures and their treatment of women! Even today there are so many countries where women are mistreated and less than an animal, look at many places in Asia, Africa..."Our" western countries are where the women recive the best treatment and are most celebrated and free in history of human kind! If you don't belive me move to Saudi Arabia- you would be required to wear abaya and couldn't drive, among other things...

    • @joan-lisa-smith
      @joan-lisa-smith 5 лет назад +6

      Ancient cultures means well prior to colonization, way back to pagan or druid times when women in most cultures were not treated that way. Women owned land (hence why they were later accused of being witches so their land could be taken by the Crown), ran businesses and were equal participants in groups that made decisions for various tribes and villages. Even in most of the Middle East women drove, didn't wear Hijabs and could be University professors until recently, it only changed in the last several decades when the Taliban took over their countries. Many women in those countries grew up with mothers who were free, but now their daughters are not as it changed over one generation from brutal takeovers.

    Meagan, I usually don't comment on videos but I had to do it on this one. I've been following you for years now and I love you. I see that all you create for us is purely out of love so I thank you.
    I developed a disorder (orthorexia) that I'm now recovering due to statements like this 17:17
    You live in an unprocessed life in the middle of nature where whole food/organic way of eating it's natural for you. But I want you to know that a lot of your viewers live in the middle of polluted cities with highly processed lives.
    I know you promulgate this "clean" "whole" way of living out of love, but I just ask you to be careful and avoid "stay away"s and "never"s because it fuels fear towards certain types of foods, foods that you may be far away from and you probably don't crave due to your lifestyle, but that most of the people face everyday and desire. And it's ok. As long as you're eating it out of love it's ok to eat processed foods. Of course you can try to choose healthier choices but if you can't, eat that damn donut. It's fine. Sometimes you just have to eat something that is less healthier for the body but that soothes the mental health.
    Thank you so much. Keep evolving and sharing your wisdom with us meanwhile.
    Love and light.

    I love this video thank you for sharing. Just one thing…it saddens me to hear someone speak so beautifully about the divine feminine in a world that doesn’t honor femininity but in the same breath says “menstruating humans”. Menstruating WOMEN. Only women menstruate, ovulate, get pregnant, and bring life into this world. Let’s honor that we as women are the only ones who experience this. This is our biology as you stated.

    You lost me at your food recommendations. Coconut oil raises cholesterol and is not a health food, it contains saturated fat. As for animal products they are not only super unhealthy (one of the leading causes of heart disease, containing cholesterol and saturated fat), but also are the product of exploitation and torture. Dairy products in particular are the product of exploitation of the female reproductive system. Exploitation of others who we perceive as weaker than us is patriarchy mentality. Do we really want those energies in our bodies? How are we supposed to heal the feminine if we participate in exploitative practices? Not to mention you are recommending extremely damaging to the body “foods”.

    my luteal phase is at 38 days according to my cycle tracking app.. anyone know what this means ?

    • @kaylaszampruch
      @kaylaszampruch 3 года назад +1

      This is a great question! If your entire menstrual cycle is about 38 days, this is slightly beyond the "normal" range which is about 27-32 days. This could be due to possibly a slightly delayed ovulation, there are many causes for delayed ovulation though. If only your luteal phase is 38 days, then this would mean you might be having a 45+ day long menstrual cycle which is vastly out of the "normal" range and it might be a great time to talk to a doctor. I'd love to talk to you more if you need any help understanding more about your cycle!

    Is the follicular phase the same thing as the luteal phase ❤

    • @yeamur
      @yeamur Год назад

      I believe follicular phase comes after the mensturation and before the ovulation. As far as I know, it goes like; mensturation, follicular, ovulation, luteal and repeat

    This is incredible, thank you! You have so much insight, I would love to see more videos like this in the future. I am currently in my luteal phase and it's lasting much longer than normal. It's been a week since my period due date and I still haven't received it. I've been so worried and confused and feeling like I'm missing something my body is telling me, other than I may be too stressed. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative but I'm still concerned. My period is never this late!

      many more videos like this coming in the future :) 🦋 stay patient with the mystery, I know it's hard. take another test in a week and see what happens. it could also just be stress related. try not to worry about it too much, time will tell.

      hey girlie, i‘m having this same problem this month. i‘m a week late, have all of my symptoms though. also took pregnancy tests, negative though :( hope you got your period by now!

      @@amiejuline2457 hey there :) i found comfort in the fact that there's no way i can expect my body to menstruate on time every single month of every year.. and eventually, when i finally vocalized "i'm done worrying about this!" and i did a 30 minute yoni steam session with wonderful herbs like oregano, yarrow, rosemary, basil, sage, and my citrine crystal ~ then my period came and woke me up later that night! (11 days late) what a relief. have trust and try to release fear and worry. sending love and light to you Amie!

I watched you many years ago when you used to vlog frequently and I come back every now and then to check and see how you and your family are doing. :) Btw, I hope you create more videos about womanhood (in general). You're knowledgeable and I think so many women out there appreciate this type of content and would appreciate your insight.

    Atleast I have you during this phase. Yes we are not crazy, we are not lunatics. Our body has the gift to provide to another life. We women should stand to one another. We are the only one’s who understand how it feels and how it affects us. I don’t want to hate, but I hope they could be a little considerate about how our body works.

    this is a really careful & well-informed explanation-- except when mention was made of consuming the liver..... why would one eat the MOST toxic organ which serves as a viral/bacterial/toxin filter of a sentient being?> no sense in that what so ever. especially not nutritionally. do you know how great of a viral load you are inheriting from consuming liver? so sad and detrimental when this kind of disinformation spreads.

    Whilst I love the energies you’ve described with the luteal phase, I’m slightly concerned at the biological description. Typically an egg dies within 24-48 hours of release from the follicle. And the corpus luteum never leaves the ovary and enters the Fallopian tube. I would recommend reading scientific journals when referring to biological mechanisms.

    Every woman needs this video in her life!!! 💕 I have watched this video so many times. The information is absolutely brilliant and you teach it, in such a beautiful way. Have you created any for the other phases? I looked but I couldn’t see any which seems a shame as this one for the Luteal Phase is gold dust ⭐️ Thank you so much for sharing 💕
