Feist and Mountain Man will forever be one of my favorite combinations of all time. It's especially cool to see young Amelia in the student role here. I have little doubt that this tour planted the seeds for what Sylvan Esso would become. SO GOOD.
I saw this performance a few years ago on the Bis channel, I saved the band's name (I thought they were) and then I searched on RUclips, it took me a while to find it, but I found it. Since then I've always been here listening, this is still one of the best things I've ever heard and watched. I wish I had witnessed it live, I think I would have overflowed with such happiness. Thank you for posting this record!
I am from a totally different generation of musicians and music. I love, love, love the sound of 90's grunge/alternative rock and hip hop! I need my 80's rap and R&B. I love the sounds of the 60's & 70's funk, rock and soul. I love 40's jazz and swing, but nothing calms me to my core like Leslie's music does. As a matter of fact there are few bands/singers these day I even attempt to listen to due to lack of depth and creativity. These days Feist, Young the giant, deep sea diver, the Shins, Broken Bells, Band of Horses, Grizzly Bear, Twin Shadows, Foster the People, Death Cab and Fleet Foxes are on heavy rotation with the aforementioned genres. Good music is on the come-up in the last twenty years and it is good to know that the radio stations know nothing about any of these groups, that way I only have to share them with you all!
I don't know anything about sound technicalities but i'm very impressed and mystified by the sound upstairs and while they go downstairs - how is it kept so even?
isn't it crazy that Leslie Feist's la blogotheque has less than 50K views while St. Vincent and Andrew Bird's has 10x that? I think she's AS good or better than either of those cats.
Fun show! - I just have to point out that you cannot forge a river... you can ford a river though. I definitely heard the G pronounced. You can even see it if you read lips.
1. A Commotion (on the album Metals) 2. Undiscovered First (Metals) 3. Mushaboom (Let It Die)... a very unique and interesting version. 4. How Come You Never Go There (Metals) 5. Cicadas and Gulls (Metals) 6. Caught a Long Wind (Metals) I'm sorry I didn't put time signatures. I'm drunk and I don't feel like scouring the vid for the starting points of the songs. Cheers!
I kinda enjoy that they do. Seeing an older, almost more nostalgic performance of an artist you like pop up on your feed is a bit of a treat imo. I don't think it would have had the same effect on me if I had just seen it the same year it was filmed, to be honest.
These had originally been released on LaBlogotheque around the time these videos were shot. For example, this Feist performance was originally released on RUclips back around 2012 (when I was about to graduate high school). I discovered Feist back then because of this very performance on this channel! What shocks me is why this video (along with many soiree de poches performances) were suddenly removed from LaBlogotheque :(

This is the comment I was looking for
This woman is magic. I love you Feist.
This is as close to perfection as live performances go. Unbelievably good.
This is absolutely magnificent, especially once they get downstairs...
Tour de force. I'm happy that we co-exist on this earth. She is beautiful.

A siren.
What a great, great Feist era.
Why am I only seeing this 11 years later?!?!?!
I have no words except why did it take so long for me to see this :’)

Merci beacoup La Blogotheque! This is super. Is anyone else watching more live music recordings during this pandemic?
Yes and realizing that’s Mountain Men backup singing
Really cool seeing a young Amelia* for Slyvan Esso in the backup choir.
Amelia
Sylvan Esso is amazing. If you love her in that, check out all 3 of these ladies as their own band, Mountain Man. They do a killer Tiny Desk Concert.
Cicadas and Gulls can't get any better...wait...no, it just got 1000x better.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so beautiful!!!
Wow, truly magical, Feist and her musicians are one in song! Thank you for sharing!
One of the most beautiful versions of Mushaboom. Thanks for making it public once again!
What a talented artist. Amazing performance
When you wanna clap and then you realize that you are watching RUclips ...
This woman is just genious!
Waking up to this video was such a gift
So beautiful! Great music, great sound and beautiful cinematography!
Kick ass perfomance.
Wow. I'm just going to watch that again. Incredible performance, production and edit. Bravo!

beautiful earthy set really visceral and as always perfectly captured by la blogotheque
O yeah finally a reupload. Been waiting for so long.
thanks guys!
Good show. As close to perfection as can come.
magnifique présentation, bien meilleure que les chansons du studio
This is just AMAZING.
A driving, artistic force.
This version of CALW>>>>>>
I don't know anything about sound technicalities but i'm very impressed and mystified by the sound upstairs and while they go downstairs - how is it kept so even?
They all have small lapel microphones that are placed on their clothes. :)
this is just magical!
Thank you for "taking me away".
this is so amazing
When this first came out, I had to search for it in deepest armpits of the internet.
:DDD
I remember the first time i saw it i downloaded the video immediately next thing i knew it completely vanished for like 5 years
This and the Live from the Basement one from around the same time after Metals came out
@@bak4320 I'll die to see the Live from the basement, I can't find it anywhere

Better indeed.
@@jordanmeek6610 stop comparing things. It destroys everything. Enjoy them for their own merits.
@@RSchep2 If you loved Leslie Feist like I do, you'd understand. Thanks for the life lesson though.
Comparisons are hideous, as we say in Spain. You don't need to look down on Annie Clark and Andrew Bird to say that Leslie deserves more recognition.
Quelle claque !
This is Scandanavian music aye?
Really that was shot in 2011 ??
Pretty sure she lifted this performance idea from KoC...
i do not deserve this
Fun show! - I just have to point out that you cannot forge a river... you can ford a river though. I definitely heard the G pronounced. You can even see it if you read lips.
Can someone provide what songs she performed?
1. A Commotion (on the album Metals)
2. Undiscovered First (Metals)
3. Mushaboom (Let It Die)... a very unique and interesting version.
4. How Come You Never Go There (Metals)
5. Cicadas and Gulls (Metals)

Love you and your honesty. Thank you.
Pourquoi Paris tu pas chantes ?
parce que pas connaitre les paroles
i was hoping to see some kings of convenience :(
Euh Lost dreams n'aurait sûrement pas été de trop....
lol is that sylvan esso?
Yes, Amelia Meath (Sylvan Esso) sings also with Mountain Man
This blows my mind
Lmao where's the nerd who posts the entire setlist in the comments
Why do they release all these vids on RUclips like 7 years after shooting? So dumb
You're so right! It's so dumb that they even released this recording! What on earth were they possibly thinking, sharing this video with us fans!?
I kinda enjoy that they do. Seeing an older, almost more nostalgic performance of an artist you like pop up on your feed is a bit of a treat imo. I don't think it would have had the same effect on me if I had just seen it the same year it was filmed, to be honest.

i thought this was an exaggeration until i read the description... SEVEN YEARS?! WHY
