- See super fast revolver fanning in this video!
In this video I explore an 1851 Navy single action revolver race gun. Even though it still works in single action only, just like the originals from the 19th century, it is capable of firing a shot every .05 seconds or even faster depending on the shooter's skills. I explain what makes this extreme performance possible as well as showing general operation of this fantastic revolver.
Live ammo was 38 special, full case bp compressed, 158 gr swc.
Triple shots were bp blanks.

very average staging at the beginning, 1 open top 1872, 1 navy "sheriff" in 36 and a "trick" Pietta in 44 who wants to look like a navy, the scene where Tuco assembles different weapons is not more credible... The best proof, you reassemble the 51 Sheriffs with its parts, the others being in no way compatible... I may not be American, but it’s obvious...
Damn... you must be a genius. But you missed the fact that the gun shop owner was just a cardboard cut out and not a real person. Got to pay attention to details bro. : )
watch carefully, he didn't swap it.
That piece is so mean it makes a street fight look like a prayer meeting.
Ha Ha!
😆
😂
Hahahahaha 😂 nice one
anyone who invades his house is getting a closed casket with those gunfighting skills
How are you not in a movie by now…
He can probably act! They don't use people who can act, any more.
Absolutely, this is amazing.
Isn’t this a reenactment of the scene where the “ugly” dude is putting together his gun in the good the bad and the ugly?
I saw more comments to confirm that it was.
@@A10.R.4You are correct dude.
Because he's a man, a white man with a gun. The left would consider him extremely toxic. He represents everything they hate and want to destroy.
It makes my heart soar that Gunslingers still walk the Earth.
Always will be!
Agreed brother.
Always will
Long days and pleasant nights.
@@Vile-Flesh Same to you.
Loved the remake of that scene from the Good The Bad and The Ugly.
Came to say exactly this. 💯 the sweeping of the pistols off the table hurt a little. 😢my poors tears
@@gunsnwater2668 I convinced myself of movie magic, and a caption of "no guns were harmed in the making of this video"
The Band lol
@@Schrodingers_kid dumb autocorrect. Good catch, I fixed it.
Absolutely.
Just wanted to say, I love listening to that 3 shot burst from the 1858. It's like a burst from an M249 but deeper and with a lower pitch.
Ha Ha! Me too!
Pocket machine gun 😂
One of my favorite scenes in the movie:)
Enjoyed the video:) Impressive speed and accuracy. Thanks! Have you tried hollow based wadcutters? They might grab the rifling better.
@duke927 I'm sure that would help. I've only had the gun a short time so I haven't tried that yet.

Mine and my friend's favortie quote from the dollars trilogy.
short barrel open tops are just an aesthetic that is hard to beat.
Agreed.
Navy revolvers are absolutely my favorite and look the most beautiful to me. I own a converted 38 spl. Navy revolver that has engravings on it.
You make those old-school guns look super cool. I've always been fascinated with old west firearms. Shooting them like lightning would be amazing... Your videos are fun to watch.
Thank you so much! : )
"I'm your huckleberry!"
They need to amend the Constitution to say - only those who can triple shot are eligible to become President of the United States.
Yes, and only people who can bake a perfect chocolate cake should be allowed to drive a bus.
@@pinnsveinI'd unironically agree with that as well, who on earth is driving a school bus without being able to bake a cake?
Grow up

I got the privilege of seeing Bob Munden put on a show of his skills in Butte Montana. Geez, probably almost 25 years ago. I got to hold a couple of his guns and it was just an all around good time.
Same time frame here in Missoula. Making a salad out of vegetables, lol. What impressed me ( not Most, but Also ) was his sense of muzzle control. Not once did he even come close to sweeping anyone in the crowd. And his speed / accuracy... had to be seen to be believed ! ☆
I spent a summer with humble bob
Lord, please, send this fine gentleman a dedicated camera man, he deserves it
man the deep bass booms of those guns are just something to behold....
That intro is TUCO for sure, absolutely love it!
Glad you like it!😃
"Alias, The Rat" ....lol👍
I've tried to explain this to people in the conversions of .36 BP to .38 cased ammo. Glad you showed it. My .44 to .45 are dead on and no keyholing effect, however. The Taylor conversions are fine, but I like the Kirst with the loading gate. Thanks for showing this and keep it up.
Using smaller ammo isn’t a conversation. It’s just using smaller calibre.
Definitely a labor of love that shows in all of your videos.thank you.
Thank you. That is it exactly, way more work than most people;e realize.
You’ve answered a question I’ve had ever since finding your Channel!
I love the 1851 navy revolver, arguably the coolest revolver ever along side the 1858 remington.
Love when Tuco says Revolvers and the store owner goes yeah revolvers.
I also love it when the store owners face Goes Oh my God this guy i swear when Tuco throws the innacurate cartridges on the glass.
Amazing Video you are very enjoyable to watch. Youve got the dream life. Cool outfits very handsome face, beautiful vintage revolvers and you get to shoot them and live the gunslinger dream.
Wow thanks for the nice comment!😃
Wasting your time Jo he's married 😂
I applaud your skill with a revolver! Thanks for showing us a most interesting Colt Navy variant. You've made the myth of the movie gunfighter a reality, making old tech do new things.
Thanks for watching and that nice comment!😊
Black powder revolvers and conversions have such great balance. Great video 👍
Top notch as always! The gun, the video quality, the setting top notch!
Thank ya kindly!😃
That scene is amazing but my favorite is when tuco says, "if you have to shoot, shoot don't talk"
Agree. Wallach made that line up as originally it was just him standing there.
Magnificent piece ! Great shooting! Thank you Tuco! I think your channel will go to the moon
I hope so. Thanks for the kind wishes my friend!
Tuco, love the videos! And I love that you have incorporated black powder revolvers into your videos. I have an 1851 Navy that I need to get out again and practice hip shooting. Keep up the great work!
always loved the look of the 1851 Navy.
They point better than the Army Colt in .44.
IMHO
I enjoy all your videos, but adding the C&B revolvers makes them even more fun to watch. Back 30+ years ago I spent about 2 years where I shot almost nothing but C&B revolvers, almost daily. I still enjoy them but only about once a week now.
I've pretty much went full circle, going from black powder, all the way to full autos, and I'm back to older guns again, mostly 1872 and 73 Colts, 1873 and 94 Winchesters, and I picked up an original Remington Rolling Block in .43 Spanish and just last week a repro Sharps in .54 made for paper cartridges. And, of course, I cast all my own bullets and load for everything I shoot. Well, almost everything. I still buy my .22LR!
When I was 10 I had to paint houses with my father all summer and at the end of the season he bought me a Ruger Super Single Six. I still have it and I'm hoping to join the Triple Shot Club soon!
Thanks for the nice comments and for sharing your story!😃
WOW man!! That is awesome! Seriously I am so glad that there are folks keeping this style of shooting alive! I have a LOVE of old west shooting history and fire arms!
Love that!!! Great cinematography as well as info.
Yay, thank you! : )
Tuco, best edutainment on youtube! Thank you for sharing. 🍻
That's absolutely sick! The skill it takes on top of the work done to the gun, is incredible.
Thanks for that nice comment! : )
Thanks for all of your hard work putting these videos together for us! You have no idea how much enjoyment you bring to all of your subscribers.
Wow, thank you!😃
Love the throw back to Good Bad and the ugly !!! You the man
Cant go wrong with a 51 navy. One of the best revolvers ever made and my personal favorite. Love what you did with yours awesome work great video beautiful gun!
Thank ya kindly!😃
Navy is my favorite. That conversion looks absolutely amazing 🤩
On another note, it feels good to have just the same Frontier Classic shirt as you do, Sir🤠
I’m like dang dis guy a real gunslinger!!!
I am impressed.(not easy to do) Good editing. Entertaining. Informative. The weapon was interesting. You have skills! The explanations of what was going on and what we were seeing was not complicated. I could not find anything to critique or even ask. I was noticing the black powder residue was tremendous and was going to comment on that, but you obviously covered that. The key holing was a riot. Your metaphor was spot on. IMO. The fact that it does that, yet you were still able to shoot with any kind of accuracy is a credit to you and the weapon itself. And the cartridges. In the hands of a novice, none of this would have been a good demonstration. They probably would have shot out the cameras by accident when aiming at the targets. lol Very well done!
Thanks for watching and those nice comments my friend! : )
Your videos always keep me so immersed keep it up man!
You show so many cool pieces- I always loved the cap balls and switch- out abilities.trying to figure out the 1st and last id wanna own from watching you
Absolutely amazing video! You have developed a great skill with firearms, thank you for sharing.
Great video man love the channel
You're aim really is remarkablely good hit the target every time even when then bullet flying sideways that's crazy
I appreciate these videos I love single action revolvers and you make them look so cool each video!
Thanks for that nice comment!😃
Ive really been enjoying these videos.
Found your channel not too long ago by chance, via 'Shorts'. For once, the algorithm didn't hide great content.
I'll gladly give this a share.
Glad you like them! Thanks for sharing too!
Outstanding Video!
Thank You!
Loved the video and the information! Keep the great videos coming!
Very high production values from a mid-19th Century shootist. Well done!
New subscriber. I have a fondness for cap and ball revolvers and your channel suits me right down to the ground
:) Thanks!
I love watching a great pistolero at work.
Thanks man, exactly what I asked for. Thou got no notification. By chance I went to check the page today.
10 seconds in and my soul died a little watching those revolvers hit the floor 😢, great vid as always though 👍
One Uberti and 2 toys. No Piettas were hurt.😃
@@TUCOtherattBwahaha! No Pietta's were hurt during the filming of this movie...😅
I love how you recreated Tuco's scene custom building his revolver in "The Good The Bad and the Ugly"
Love your videos! Some day I'll get a single action... Love your duds too, thought I was the only one who dressed like that anymore!
That tuco scene remake made my whole week 😂 amazing 👏
My compliments, I really enjoyed your video on fast shooting with the 1851. Thank you!
Thanks for the nice comment and for watching!😃
One thing to help with the accuracy for the 38 special in those conversion cylinders is to use hollow base bullets. Bear Creek Supply came up with some 150gr hollow base round nose 38 Sp bullets about a year ago. I’ve tried them in one of my 51 Navy’s with the conversion cylinder and have been pleased with their accuracy.
Epic work man!
Those sideways hits on the steel were amazing to see. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed!😃
Genuinely good, entertaining content. Many thanks 👍
Much appreciated!😃
You are the coolest dude to date you need to be in movies
I like this, thanks for showing.
Hey Blondie! You know what you are?!!! Great production and shooting, keep 'em coming, Tuco!
😃👍
That is awesome! Thanks for all your work on these videos. I love the Navy configuration and I shoot the Richards-Mason conversion open tops in CAS. My guns are factory-made with the correct barrel diameter for modern .38 bullets so accuracy is not a problem with regular .358 or .359 bullets. An easy fix for your key-holing issue is to shoot hollow-based bullets. For instance, 158 grain hollow-base wad cutters. The hollow base will expand upon firing and grab the rifling better. You might try that before spending the money on sleeving the barrel.
Great as always
I always look forward to your videos 🙂
Pretty impressive my friend!
Pretty impressive!
What a sweet little pistol!
Absolutely brilliant beginning to the episode, loving your work and thanks for sharing this amazing gun, you need a rocking chair out front of the saloon 😂
Thanks for that nice comment!😃👍
Love that sound! TTR has all the fun 😁
This was the most interesting firearm video I've seen in a long, LONG time. Loved every second of it.
Thanks for watching and the nice comment 😃
Awesome video! I need to get my 1858 Remington out soon
I like how you switched around the parts to make it look like you built a new revolver
Any of these guns that got combat use don’t have matching numbers as soldiers would mix and match from what was handy.
I really love your videos, your setting is superb it really catches the feel of the old west plus your ability with pistols and your safety concerns are impeccable. Thanks for your work, I find it riveting.
Wow! Thanks so much for the nice comments!😃
The good, the bad and the ugly, one of the best scenes, when Tuco came to the shop from the desert and put together a revolver. I must have watched this film 100 times 40 years ago, and it's still my absolute favorite! ❤️❤️❤️
Love your videos!
Thank you!
Wow!!! Very nice Tuco!!
Pretty cool. The 1851 title caught my eye to watch the video. As a CW and Old West Reenactor, I was wondering how in the world you were shooting the 1851 so fast. So watching the video, you explained the work and conversion. Pretty cool.
The shots on the steel remind me of like Looney Tunes coyote smacking into the wall the perfect shape😂😂
Excellent video as always!
Glad you enjoyed it!😃
Amazing skill Tuc!
Hey, you're living my dream; and doing an admirable job of it. Terrific videos.
Thank ya kindly! : )
So fun watching your natural God given talents!
I love this channel
Jeez that opening shoot scene was amazing!
Great episode!!!!!🤘🇺🇸

I never knew the cap and ball revolvers could be converted. Well filmed. I enjoy it.
I love the set!
Man have been waiting for a while now yo see you shoot that sweet piece of iron. The other 6 guns are nice but I love those. Great video too love that scene from the good, bad and the ugly. Give em hell Tuco
Thanks for watching and the nice comment!😃
Superb video Sir, from Canada, the Speedy Creek Kid!
Thank you kindly!
Another day, another banger! Very inventive, Tuco! Leave it to the engineer to create yet another cap and ball conversion race gun!
Thanks for the nice comment Andrew! 😃
Awesome video! Thanks!
@TUCOtheratt great video! Just a week ago I was thinking that I wish you would do a parody of the Tuco/Shopkeeper scene… but I figured you didn’t need people telling you what content to make 😆. I can see the bullets in flight easier with a low camera position where the bullets are against the blue sky. Keep the good stuff coming Sir!
Thanks for the feedback. 😃
I bought a used Pietta 51 navy at a gun show a few years back. It had an early Kirst cylinder without the loading gate. It was .38 long, but .38 specials fit in it. I solved the key hole problem by shooting the hollow base wad cutters in it. They are not hard cast, maybe pure lead. I loaded them to stick out as much as a 158 swc so it wouldn't have a big jump to the forcing cone. Works great. Someday I will order the back plate with the loading gate.
Fantastic work 💯👍
Favorite part about the original scene is, Eli Wallach knew absolutely nothing about firearms when they filmed it. It was something he decided to do, and it worked out amazingly perfect.
There's something about the pocket navy that just looks mean to me. Same thing with the wells fargo schofield. It just looks more proportional and beefy.
Love the channel,always learn something!!!,👍🇨🇦
Awesome, thank you!
