I love the design of the Toyota I Road EV, so, I contacted the company to see if they are yet available to purchase, and apparently not, and a price wasn't available. Arcimoto of Eugene, Oregon, is now producing and selling their unique 3-wheeled EV called the SRK-8, and it is a larger, more versatile vehicle, that seats 2 in tandem comfortably, has more cargo space, can travel up to 85 mph, and has a 150 mile charge. It's selling at a base price of $11,900 USD!

Also, the iRoad is aimed at short local runs, so smaller, lighter and cheeper on the battery. There too is the financial might that will enable them to sell at cost price, or even a small loss in the beginning, in order to establish the market, that will in turn provide the economy of scale to bring the cost down. I believe that the first generation of Prius did not repay the cost of development. But now every car in their line-up has a Hybrid option, and so does every other car maker, now! Where Toyota have done it before, with luck, they may do again!

It does not have a 150 mile range, the standard version at $11.9K has a 70 mile range and an optional battery, price not yet announced, will be 130 miles. Also the SRK is not yet available, I am on the waiting list, hopefully it will be later in 2017 after April.
I love the notion of vehicles like this that can be electric battery powered with enough range for real-world commuter use and errands at a price more economical than a standard car. I like the Twizzy best, but any enclosed three or four wheeler that will be allowed for U.S. drivers will be great!
You should google GM's Lean Machine. It was designed in the 70's by an american engineer named Frank J. Winchell. He designed it to improve the wastefulness of the automobile. It achieved 200 miles per gallon.

I wish someone bought the rights to the design, upgraded the battery to 200km instead of 100 and sell these for 12000EUR. I would instantly buy one.
50 km looks not so very match to my. It must be 3 times more .1 hour driving and the battery is empty. How match time is needed for loading the battery? How match volt is the battery? Can you drive with these on a bicycle road? Has this car heating for in the winter?

I didn't like it because it is missing some features in this model. Air conditioner, radio, back camera, maybe a 7-inch display to show all the function of the vehicle for this model. I am sure the pricing would be in the $20,000 or higher, which is too much for an individual car. Arcimoto.com is much better. it is only $11,900 for the basic model.
+Luisana Rincon and Nomad Chad: Don't forget that this is BATTERY driven. A/C is Heavy on weight and Really heavy on the battery, and a heater is only marginally less so. The extra weight and load on the battery would probably reduce the range by half. Think MotorCycle not car :-). (No heating or A/C on those either :-). I would love one for my ride to work, so I will be badgering my local dealer. He did sell us a Plug-in Prius, so I can but hope!
