HUGE MISTAKE: Sprinting DOWNHILL is more efficient than sprinting uphill. Here's why: Turns out my uphill vs downhill test was skewed because I had infinite stamina. Going uphill takes longer than going downhill, and since I had infinite stamina, this meant that I sprinted longer during the uphill part. So, this test just proved that sprinting longer is faster LOL. I retested with a set amount of stamina and found that sprinting DOWNHILL is more efficient than sprinting uphill. Since you travel further while going downhill, this means you can cover more ground sprinting downhill than you can sprinting uphill which saves you stamina, ultimately making it more efficient. Sorry guys, this won't happen again. NOTE: At 3:45, I meant to say/write that stamina regenerates at a rate of 0.07.
Small thing I wanna mention about the sprinting thing. When you're sprinting up/down slopes, you should hold the button down for the same amount of time each way for accurate results. If you just sprint until you reach the bottom/top, you'll end up holding the button down for longer (and thus using more stamina) on the way up, since you'll be slowed down. I think that's the reason why you got a result of sprinting up hills being faster; because you were sprinting for longer.
this actually brought a couple neat things to my attention 0:57 didn’t know there were two types of critical health. typically when I get to that point I can’t sprint anymore so I assumed it was whenever you get critical 3:25 never really known how much extra end stamina there was, even if that’s a bit inaccurate, still was more than I expected. also didn’t know about the exhaustion animation until now 4:20 also never knew about this refund mechanic typically when I’m in danger I’m focused on running through the chaos 6:20 am I the only one who wanted a “and if you were to somehow hold ___ lbs you’d move at 0% speed”? 9:14 what about jumping before the fall? I never really pay attention to the fall damage on titan and it’s been a bit since I played on it. I’d expect the extra velocity of the jump/fall would carry out enough velocity to kill, right?
You can’t ever move at 0% speed. The limit as weight approaches infinity is 0, but you can’t ever reach that. If you somehow held infinity pounds, _you would have bigger problems than your movement speed._
Also to note, the fall damage doesn't apply to any areas that have pits, such as parkour rooms in the factory, holes in mineshaft caverns, or ravines on Rend's surface. It doesn't matter how slow or fast you fall in those, there are triggers in place to instantly kill you when you pass through them, meaning you'll almost certainly die no matter what. (Though there are a couple of clever tricks to bypass these triggers)

Your videos are so insightful, they helped me get so much better at the game and reach pretty high quotas with my friends I'm glad you moved away from using generative AI for thumbnails too
Very informative video! Only thing missing that I wish you covered is peak sprint speed, and how to maintain it. It actually takes a few seconds of sprinting for you to reach peak sprint speed, which is why waiting until your sprint meter is as full as possible before sprinting is important. You can also keep your peak sprint speed if you stop moving but continue to hold down shift. You'll slowly regain stamina, and when you start moving again, you'll be going MUCH faster.
ok, thanks for the confirmation that oxygen instantly regenerates cause I've been meaning to check if it does for like at least the past month and just never did lmao 3:41 minor typo, i'm guessing that's supposed to be 0.07 4:19 i'd consider this more like getting adrenaline rather than a "refund" for the sprint up/down a hill, how did the stamina usage compare? cause I'm not sure I quite buy sprinting up a hill being "more efficient" just because the runs that did so were faster. they could be faster just because you were sprinting longer when going up compared to going down.
Regarding the sprinting uphill vs downhill tests, wouldn't the results be skewed by the fact that you travel longer uphill than downhill? Going uphill is slower, so if you cover the same distance on both slopes, the uphill one will naturally have you sprinting for a larger portion of your total travel time. This could explain why sprinting uphill gave a greater time reduction, as you're literally sprinting more on those tests.
yup, all he's proved is that sprinting for longer is faster, which is obvious... a better test would be to spend a fixed amount of stamina (say, 25% of your stamina bar) and see if it's more effective if you use that amount of stamina on the uphill, flat, or downhill sections.

until he does, i can offer a "brief" explanation the first quota of the game is always 130 after every quota you complete, the game calculates a value of (1 + [quotas completed]^2 / 16) it then multiplies that value by a 100 and that's the base quota increase after that, it generates a random number between 0 and 1 and puts it into a unity animation curve to get a number between 0.5 and 1.5. the result is skewed towards 1 outside of the extremes (80% of the time, the number will be between 0.86 and 1.17). the base quota increase is multiplied by the number it gets from the curve. your new quota is the result of that added to the quota you just completed. luck is a value that ranges from -0.012 to 0.1545, although I'll refer to it as a percent (i.e -1.2% to 15.45%). the way it impacts the quota calculation is pretty simple. it takes that random number between 0 and 1 and reduces it by x%, where x is the luck (and yes, negative luck results in an increase). this happens before the number gets fed into the animation curve. because of this, having more than 7.5% luck means the curve will never give a number higher than 1.2, and max luck means it'll never give a number higher than 1.15. the luck value is calculated when you complete a quota, based on the furniture that you had placed down when you completed the previous quota and _still_ have placed down without having removed it _at any point_ during the quota. (this does mean negative luck from furniture can be ignored just by storing it and immediately placing it back every quota) if you wanna know what the animation curve used to randomize the quota looks like or what the luck values are for the different furniture, i'd recommend the profit quota page on the fandom wiki. my personal recommendation is to get the disco ball and television if they're available as they give 6% and 2% luck respectively, which is more than half of the max you can get.

4:00 0.11 is less than 0.7. Did you mean to say that standing still regenerates at 0.11 and moving regenerates at 0.07?
Yes, I meant 0.07!
Can you look into the profit quota calculation with the new luck mechanic included?
until he does, i can offer a "brief" explanation
the first quota of the game is always 130
after every quota you complete, the game calculates a value of (1 + [quotas completed]^2 / 16)
it then multiplies that value by a 100 and that's the base quota increase
after that, it generates a random number between 0 and 1 and puts it into a unity animation curve to get a number between 0.5 and 1.5. the result is skewed towards 1 outside of the extremes (80% of the time, the number will be between 0.86 and 1.17). the base quota increase is multiplied by the number it gets from the curve.
your new quota is the result of that added to the quota you just completed.
luck is a value that ranges from -0.012 to 0.1545, although I'll refer to it as a percent (i.e -1.2% to 15.45%). the way it impacts the quota calculation is pretty simple. it takes that random number between 0 and 1 and reduces it by x%, where x is the luck (and yes, negative luck results in an increase). this happens before the number gets fed into the animation curve. because of this, having more than 7.5% luck means the curve will never give a number higher than 1.2, and max luck means it'll never give a number higher than 1.15.
the luck value is calculated when you complete a quota, based on the furniture that you had placed down when you completed the previous quota and _still_ have placed down without having removed it _at any point_ during the quota. (this does mean negative luck from furniture can be ignored just by storing it and immediately placing it back every quota)
if you wanna know what the animation curve used to randomize the quota looks like or what the luck values are for the different furniture, i'd recommend the profit quota page on the fandom wiki. my personal recommendation is to get the disco ball and television if they're available as they give 6% and 2% luck respectively, which is more than half of the max you can get.
