  • Designed in collaboration with known session and touring guitarist Pete Thorn, the PT-100 is a two-channel, 100 watt tube amplifier, loaded with a "Plexi" output transformer, four EL-34 power tubes and a tube buffer effects loop.
    The PT-100 clean channel offers a full range of American voiced clean sounds. The overdrive channel, distinctly British, features dual gain and level controls for independent rhythm and lead tones.
    Power Up / Power Down
    With the power switch in the OFF position and the Standback/Standby switch in the Standby position (O), flip the power switch to the ON (I) position. Wait sixty seconds, then flip the Standby switch to the Standback (I) position. This will prolong tube life.

    • @AliTaylor777
      @AliTaylor777 10 лет назад +2

      Chris Morton Custom Audio were set up by Bob Bradshaw but John Suhr did the amp designs while Bob did the effects side and switching boxes etc. John still does the amps and they're built at his own factory but branded Custom Audio Amplifiers. Bob still does all his effect switching set ups, power supplies, buffers, wahs etc but his Custom Audio Electronics is now a Dunlop sub brand. It seems that John is starting to brand newer versions as Suhr, such as the new PT100 just launched at NAMM.

    Reb has been a force in guitar for 30 years, he was talented way back then, vivid memories of his effortless play style. Note the picking style, all thumb and finger. The sound of a Marshall has always been mid dominant to me, and a Mesa Dual Rec is mid scooped sounding, polar opposites. There doesn't seem to be a solution, 6L6 and EL34 are not mixed in amp offerings, and it is rare to see a V30 heft with Greenback bite, so you need multiple solutions. They are all basically one trick ponies that lock you in. I don't see a problem with switchers and routers. Rock on Reb, hope to see your no-nonsense reviews for more amps.

  • @BenCaffrey
    @BenCaffrey 10 лет назад +2

    IMHO, if it takes a while to dial in the perfect tones on an amp, I think that's means its versatile (talking about quality stuff here) where as if you get it right away it usually means the amp is voiced more specifically ie, less versatile, more like the sound you want anyway. Like my 80s JCM800, Nailed the classic rock thing right away, no tweaking, but my Eleven rack although takes time to dial in, does EVERYTHING. ..horses for courses is what I mean I guess.

    Reb had some Plexis or used some Plexis that John modded for him years ago, so I think that is what he was referring to. The mods he did turned into the amp Reb uses Today. The Plexis were the starting point, but not the final result. Now if you want "Plexi" check out Suhr SL68!!!
