This amp has 2 gains and 2 Masters on the 2nd channel, so it' has a 3rd channel but shares the EQ of Ch2. This is an option on all Suhr's OD and PT models. Mark
GCX Switcher, Decimator ProRack G, G Major II, X2 Wireless, some pedals..EVh Phase 90, EVH Flanger, MXR Micro Amp. I didn't use any pedals for this demo, the GMajor has a Pitch Detune and 500 ms delay. Mark
Gain=7 , Bass=6, Mids=7, Teble=6, Presence=10, Vol=4. Rear: Whomp=Full, Feedback=3, Return level around 3 or 4. Check the video at 3:27 it shows the settings. Mark
Hi Mark, both amps are obviously incredible at the high gain stuff and great clean channel but how are they with other styles like blues and classic rock like AC/DC, etc... They both sound very modern voiced.
They sound great, Mark. Your amp stacking job has me nervous though... at about 4:35 or so you can really see the left side rubber feet of the PT hanging off the side. :)
Hey man, great demo as usual! Which is warmer? Doe the PT have El34s? Also, I am considering the PT or a Cornford MK II EL34 head. Have you played one or compared?
Nice demo! I just bought my first Suhr guitar. It rawks! Can you recommend a distortion/overdrive pedal that would give me similar gain through a Classic 30 combo? Cheers
Can you maybe tell me (us admiring listeners :) ) something about the Setup, like the way you EQd it or so? I´m curious because i really really dig the rythm tone of the PT100 in the beginning of the video. I know it´s some time back, but i´m really curious about the tone. Did you use any boost/extra effects besides a little reverb/delay? Greetings from Germany!
I could easily own either of these and be happy, but the PT100 sounds a bit more refined to me. Something about the bottom end just seems a bit sweeter, but retains the same amount of aggression.
The se+ sounds darker and more compressed, nothing wrong with that. The pt sounds clearer and it sounds like it can used for brutal metal. Thanks for the vid and nice riffs man!
Personally, I prefer running ancillary FX in parallel. Certainly delays & chorus. The Suhr amps only have serial FX send/return however, which is good in this case, because the G-Major is recommended to be run through a serial FX loop. Tremolo effects, for example, don't work in parallel, so to make full use of a multi FX unit, you're best running it through a series FX loop.
Your tone is awesome as always! I have a pt100 which is killer-my fav amp right now. But your demo sounds WAY better. Do you find that the pickups (Aldridge?) make a huge difference?
Extremely unaffordable amps. Great amps, but too much gain, they seems only for metal. Even with the gain rolled back they keep a recomend-your-soul-to-God distortion.
Yes they both have compression and noise reduction given to you by those lighted up things by the amps, rack effects. You're not hearing the pure amp but foolishness, made to sell things. Both amps don't sound like this by themselves. lol
Hey Mark, I realize this video is 13+ years old, but you always seem to have more gain playing through these amps than every other demo of this amp.. Do you always use an overdrive pedal or do you have extremely hot pick ups in your guitar. thanks again dude
Every once in a while I come back to this vid and smile. :) 🤘
Me as well!

Dear Mark, you make any amp sound awesome
JOSH CINTRON thank you Josh, you are too kind

@samhillband Big fan of your tone. Have you totally switched over to Axefx now or are you still using tube amps? Thanks.
I like all of the High gain demos that you do of the amp, but how do they sound in a lower gain setting, like a lower gain bluesy tone?
They sound great, Mark.
Your amp stacking job has me nervous though... at about 4:35 or so you can really see the left side rubber feet of the PT hanging off the side. :)
Doesn't the PT100 have a knob in the back that essentially tightens up the sound, controls the "sponginess" of the sound so it can be tight or not?
Dude that sounded Wicked !! super bad ass, you sound like your ready to jam with Ozzy in stage right now !!
@samhillband Mark, how do you rate the PT100 against the XTC 20Ann.or regular XTC 101b?
Hey man, great demo as usual! Which is warmer? Doe the PT have El34s? Also, I am considering the PT or a Cornford MK II EL34 head. Have you played one or compared?
Hey Mark, How do these amps compare to the Freedman brown eye & small box ??? & witch would you prefer ?
Nice demo! I just bought my first Suhr guitar. It rawks! Can you recommend a distortion/overdrive pedal that would give me similar gain through a Classic 30 combo? Cheers
Hi Mark, are you using a chorus or pitch detune effect from 3:41 onwards?
@samhillband Just one more question , how close does the Axefx come to tube amp feel, dynamics, tone?
Can you maybe tell me (us admiring listeners :) ) something about the Setup, like the way you EQd it or so? Hi,
Were you using any noise gate? There is no noise.
I could easily own either of these and be happy, but the PT100 sounds a bit more refined to me. Something about the bottom end just seems a bit sweeter, but retains the same amount of aggression.
what effects u have goin through that amp? love this sound,processors?
Any idea if the CAA amps are still available somewhere? I mean, not Suhr branded versions. Cheers!
Sam, You rock dude. Great Videos, great insight & most importantly, always great tone !!!
The se+ sounds darker and more compressed, nothing wrong with that. The pt sounds clearer and it sounds like it can used for brutal metal. Thanks for the vid and nice riffs man!
forgive me by sounding naive, but does PT stand for pete thorn?
Hmm, what delay are you using? It's really nice.
Personally, I prefer running ancillary FX in parallel. Certainly delays & chorus.

I heard they are coming with a new version of the pt100 do you know anything ?
Those are the most incredible sounding amps!..nice crunch..smooth tone. - Too bad they're so pricey.
@seventeve
I use both rigs...love them both could be without the AxeFx and could be without my OD100se+ rig :)
Mark
This sounds amazing! How are you recording the clip?
they sound the same in your video, but I played both before and they sound quite different
can the se+ do the classic rock stuff very well like the pt100 seems to? thanks
@richedie SE+ is darker and more modern, the PT is more Marshall like both amps have EL34's
The PT100 is closer to the Marshall openess, but waaaaayy better :)
Mark
Your tone is awesome as always! I have a pt100 which is killer-my fav amp right now. But your demo sounds WAY better. Do you find that the pickups (Aldridge?) make a huge difference?
Dam them pt killing tone
What are your exact settings on se plus in this video
I know everyone's been raving about the PT but I think I like the SE+ more actually ...
Do we have an option on power slaving down from 100 to 50 watts?
Using an Edirol R09-HR recorder for audio and a Creative Vado HD for video/
Mark
Great gear, great sounds, great playing!
@seventeve
For me the AxeFx has that feel and dynamics :)
Mark
Awesome tones!
can you still get the pt100?
What's being run in the rack?
el34s
right?
@TylerSytuation It's a G Major I. 500ms
I think I may own this particular OD100 in the video. 🤔
Maybe, does it have a cymbal dent in the tolex? The PT mine : D
You could remove two power tubes :)
Mark
would love you to cmpare to fractal versions ppppppppppppplease. could make or break my fractal purchase.
If you knew how heavy the right side of those amps are....you would worry one bit...lol
Mark
@Jawbreaker1000 I much prefer the CAA stuff over Mesa.
Great vids thanks!!!!
@bladerunner12 Sorry dude, it's the way I like it and I just happened to hit a preset that was already setup :(
a PT100 running a Axe Fx for effects only and my life is done :'D
Yes Pete Thorn :)
@PIlotrcm ,and another $7000 for Mark's Suhr guitar!!!
@GuillermoSmyser
Yes...Feedback Knob.
I hope John Suhr has you on salary, I'm sure you've sold a lot of product for him.
@priteo1 Yes
@VelhosNovos Decimator ProRack G
@cobwebb15 V30's
@littlefuzzer lol!!!
oh, if only I had $3,200 dollars to spend on an amp head
mais oui

That dude in the background needs to learn how to tune a guitar. That's almost as nerve-wracking as fingernails on a chalkboard.
Yes they both have compression and noise reduction given to you by those lighted up things by the amps, rack effects. You're not hearing the pure amp but foolishness, made to sell things. Both amps don't sound like this by themselves. lol
I can hear active pickups. Yikes.
Doesn't sound warm at all. Sounds like nothing but metal. I'll take my USA Egnater any day.
