    Originally, I had cut off the rear rack of my Nel Lusso bike to add a friction-drive Lock N' Load unit to the rear. I have since picked up a couple of 80cc 2-stroke engines and am in the process of watching such videos as this one to get some ideas as to how to set it up in the bike. I put caps on each part of the rack to cover the nubs left on the frame. I removed the fenders and am in the process of building the bike in this manner, now. A tip is to use several quick ties around the center to keep an equal distance when putting that hub sprocket into place. It spaces the area out quite evenly and you simply pull the plastic ties out when finished. I did end up putting a better kick stand onto my bike though. It raises the front of the bike up and telescopes, but it is not meant to have someone sit on the bike when it is in use. Only to hold it up well. I had to laugh as I wondered if you were indeed putting the sprocket on backwards. It was hard to see at first when you were filming it. When I got my packages of engines, I thought right away that it may be a mistake problem that is easy to do if you are not careful. :-) I am not fully through in watching your video just yet, as I keep running out to look at my own bike and check things as I do my build. This is my first build although I have ridden motorcycles most of my lifetime (71 years at present). Thanks for posting this video.

      @@Steve_Does_Stuff The furnace was removed from the house next door, and I latched on to the plenum, cut it down, supported the bottom with plywood, made a lid, and added small wheels, axle, and tongue - hey, presto! a trailer that can haul lots of groceries, or a tool box and car parts. I used a car outer tie rod end to connect to the hitch on the bike. Swivels side to side, pivots for up and down hill angles - generally satisfactory - and being a recycled (nudge, wink, get it? re CYCLED?) part, very affordable.

    nice work on the Install Steve FYI i read on some Forum that the Importers of some of theose kits were getting harassed by Attorneys because many bikes people were putting them on had the Factory Welds coming apart because they were not designed to handle the stress the engines added to the bike i’ve noticed that now many of the Websites that do sell them have more details outlined on the bike styles they reccomend installing. the kits on like yours most of them do reccomend a Cruiser style Frame that are usually larger Tubings which theoretically would mean more surface Weld area not necessarily a stronger or better Weld but i guess that can change amount the Manufacturers the Forum i read mentioned the head Tube breaking off and when I was a kid in the 1970s riding Wheelies and doing Jumps i broke that Weld on 3 different bikes i will testify it’s a Gnarly one to have give out when you are riding as you lose your front wheel and Handle Bars that send you head first into the Ground and back then we did not wear Helmets on Bikes and Staples for Skulls we’re not invented yet so the Hospital trip was a painful and long one

The owner of Zeda not other people using Zeda engines,, Tapp on Zita ,,Goes to his web page there's probably 50 Quick videos you need to watch,,. These are also the motors you want to use 66cc is the best all around it has a Zita rod and a static balance to crank,,,. All engine should be torn down disassembled Lube the crank cylinder walls remove the Rings and lap the Rings with WD-40 and 320 grit sandpaper reinstall them,,. You can likely Port all the holes in The Jug,,,. Widen the intake and exhaust ports slightly,,, use better gasket material,,,. Blue Loctite absolutely every nut and bolt everywhere,,,. Mount everything on cut up pieces of rubber inner tube,,. Harley anyone can adjust the carburetors right the cables alright and especially the clutch lever cables properly,, depending on the bike and the alignment expect to be ordering more parts or making your own parts and going back and forth to the hardware several times,,,. You will probably need a plumbing torch to heat the exhaust up and slightly bend it to get it out of the way of the pedals,,,. You'll probably need a good battery type drill and drill bits for drilling and reaming out holes,, if it's a coaster brake remove the brake lever on the rim and there's a black plastic or rubber cap remove it and the sprocket will fit down on it snuggly tight and aligned perfectly,,, Set the rear wheel closer to the front cut the chain down to where you don't need a tensioner as a chain stretches you can move the rim back,, if you use a tensioner after it set perfectly drill a 1/8 inch hole through the tensioner and just one side of the lower tube frame rail and use a ,,, S 12 self-tapping screw in there to hold the tension straight or ill end up ripping your spokes out,,,. Without a garage and a lot of tools,,. And being extremely mechanically inclined,,,. ??? You've got those that can do it with absolutely no problem,,,. And those that spins months asking questions and for help,,,. !!! You can ask me questions anytime,,,,

      ok, hey guess what, all you "boost bottle" freaks out there using them on 2 stroke motors, you're dumbasses, that increases the heat and completeness of the fuel burn, but in 2 stroke motors, if the fuel burns too high, so does the oil added to it !!! the pistons can't maintain an optimal amount of residue for lubrication you fools, you have to do far more frequent breakdown maintenance and the piston walls and rings also take greater wear and tear, needing replacement far sooner (like 5x less life), and to be honest, they give bicycle motors a bad name when users claim that the motor was a piece of shit and not worth the money, so people who were interested see these complaints and either change their minds or go for ebike motors, LOSE THE BOTTLES !!!

    4 questions...
    1: how much is the total weight of the motor, the rider & the bike ???
    2: what is the top speed on smooth, flat road terrain ???
    3: what is the steepest grade the motor can operate ??? (I travel around some steep, paved, residential areas)
    4: what is the avg. distance you cover on a single tank ???
    sorry to be a pain, I've been looking into getting a supplementing power supply for my bicycle, I had determined that ebikes (kits included) are too costly in the beginning and for battery replacement costs, the distance is limited, ect., ect., so I decided on gas, but need an idea of if the 80cc "Flying Horse", 4 stroke I'm looking at is sufficient for my needs, no dirt riding, but trips of 30+mi 25% of the trips is up about 30 deg roads, I don't want to get the 212cc motor I've seen around if I don't have to, Alabama (police officers) are pretty easy on basic motorized bicycles, but they usually harass those with stuff too big or too loud

      me too just built engine but had a few problems while installing, engine was too large and carb didnt fit, had to cut intake manifold but now its not level, have to but offset intake manifold but recently when just starting it for the first time while pedaling the chain tensioner got pulled into the spokes and warped the rear wheel, luckily i have new wheels on the way, i strongly suggest a few things, either replace all bolts at hardware store or use loctite, also replace the chain tensioner with a spring loaded one so it has some give and doesnt just get pulled into spokes, and last piece of advice, get an adapter or wheel with a dedicated hub so that way you dont attach sprocket to spokes and weaken the wheel over time

    I really want to try one of these out as kind of an interesting project. The only thing that worries me is that I live in California and while I know that the DMV is cool with something like this, I've read on a few places that the California Air Resource Board only allows these engines for closed course usage. I really wonder how strictly that is enforced though, I doubt most police officers would be aware of that unless the department has had issues with these kinds of bikes.

      I lived in Lompoc, San Diego and Long Beach for years and saw many of these, the police don't seem to have a problem so long as you ride safe, responsibly and your ride is not too loud or to fast, but if you act like a jack-ass on the road or loud or trying to be a show off or going too fast, then they WILL be super pricks

    best thing to do is get some zip ties put the zip ties in there with the locking part in the little slot there around the hub that way it stays centered about 11 zip ties in there and it'll stay centered tighten them up crossways just like when you torque something down you tighten this up then you tighten the one opposite up then you tighten the window three over and then you take the opposite one up

    When mixing oil & gas do like he said - 1st put oil in gas tank but then only add 1/5 th of the gas, put cap on and then mix. then add the rest of the gas and you will have a good mix otherwise you might end up with the oil sitting in the bottom and not mixed.

      @jhewitt8143 6 лет назад +3

      my father's an experienced mechanic and has lots of experience with bicycle motor I found out, here's what he says...
      because of how 2 stroke engines use the fuel/oil mix to lube, much of it burns off but still leaves some residue, most oil additives are designed for 4 stroke motors, using oil additives in 2 strokes can not only REDUCE the efficiency of the fuel burning off, but the residues themselves actually increase the need for regular maintenance more frequently and CAUSE long term damage and reduction of engine life, and believe it or not, using full or blend synthetic oils in the fuel/oil also REDUCE fuel efficiency because of the higher resistance to high heat and ignition, a strait up proprietary, pure 2-stroke oil and shell premium with nitrogen is best.
      also, do not use fuel additives that add octane, on small 2 stroke engines they serve no purpose, the compression is not sufficient enough to be of any benefit.
      DO NOT use fuel additives that have lots of detergents, except when doing breakdown maintenance, the engine relies heavily on the oil residue to lubricate and detergent additives in oils break down that function causing increased wear and tear, increasing the frequency of maintenance and reducing engine life.
      if you insist on using a supplemented oil (an oil with additives) or oil additives anyway, NEVER, EVER, EVER use ones that have or add metallic and/or flammable substances such as zinc and phosphorus, these are optimized for 4 stroke engines, because 2 stoke engines burn off the oils, the metallic additives create deposits that actually damage the piston walls and rings, further increasing the need for breakdown maintenance and reducing engine life, as for flammable additives such as phosphorus and sulphates, these burning off in the engine create acids and cause severe corrosion in these smaller engines especially.
      keep your oils and fuels as pure as possible and it will help greatly
      when you intend on storing your bike for more than 60 days, empty the fuel tank and add a fuel stabilizer but NO oil, when you decide to go and ride again, add the requisite amount of oil, then idle the engine for 10 minutes, shut down for 30-45+ minutes for cool down, then go and have fun
      try and remember, "2 stroke" & "4 stroke" are NOT numbers, they are completely different types of engines, and need to be treated as such.
      I do recommend an oil additive called 'nanolub csx', but NOT for mixing in the fuel, it makes an AWSOME lubricant for external moving parts on the engine and bicycle and chain, may your bikes "Live Long & Prosper"

  • @dangerousdoggo5465
    @dangerousdoggo5465 6 лет назад

    Hey! I have a problem with my bike. I was using the first 3 tanks 16:1, and the engine ran really really good. I had the muffler off. I have finished the break-in period. I am now using 32:1 gas, 95 octane (The other is 100 wich I think is too strong).
    I have just now started to feel the bike not having power a couple of weeks ago. One morning I started it up, and it wasn't accelerating, it's idling very slow, sometimes even stopping (The idle screw is in so much, that if i twist it 1/4, I can't twist the throttle) the spark plug is light grey, i have fully cleared it with baking soda, and with a pin, put it back, still. I have tried every possible C-Clip position (Stock NT carburetor) If I don't have the throttle at least 1/2 pulled the engine doesn't ignite (From what I can hear) and only goes if I have it pulled fully. I have sealed both sides on the intake manifold with red hi-temp silicone (It doesn't melt untill 340 something celsius, or 644 fahrentheit) and it still does that. Not sure if it's an air leak still. I do have the low idling, wich when I'm not moving and have the clutch pulled, for some reason it fluctuates in RPM's a bit. I also hear a ratling or clanking sound inside the engine. I have looked into it and saw like a white paint like thing on the walls, they looked like they were dripping, but were completely dry.
    Could it be that my piston rings broke? Or does it not have compression? The head bolts are tight, the manifold has 1 nut that broke but I think that shouldn't be causing it to not work. I'm going to the hardware store tomorrow to buy one to replace it.

    • @dangerousdoggo5465
      @dangerousdoggo5465 6 лет назад

      Thanks! I will try that. How do I know if it's leaking? Will it lose pressure over time? So let's say the piston is down, I push my thumb into the hole, and roll the bike up. If it loses pressure immediately is that bad? Or can that be just my thumb?

    • @dangerousdoggo5465
      @dangerousdoggo5465 6 лет назад

      Hey, so I did what you said. I unscrewed the plug, put my finger at the hole, pushed it on the hole hard, disengaged the clutch, and rolled the bike slowly. It felt very weak. Like when you suck on your finger (Sorry I don't have any examples...) and when the piston was comming up it was weak too. It couldn't push the air out. Then I rolled it a bit faster and same.
