I know people are still watching this because I am and had the same problem. If you are not concerned about cosmetics I was able to 1.) unscrew the rubber bumper at the visible screw and 2.) pull the the switch out and unplug it with out going into the door skin. I Liked this the last time in to view it. 🙂 [Edit] I unplugged the switch from the wire. I thought that would do it but wound up not getting a start after recharging the battery overnight. Just saying problems may arise. I needed a tow b/c I was out on the road. I'm getting a new battery which was 7 years old plus a replacement switch and rubber bumper. No choice there, no more I could do. [Edit again] Unplugging the switch did work-- no wires cut or new swich ordered from the service stop. But I had the security of having the service stop check everything when they put in the battery.
If there is a god it's in the form of you. I finally stopped that godforsaken chiming when I had my door open just hanging out. So painfully annoying. I have a 2006 Ford focus and it pings loud 3 times a second forever. Thanks a million

I never tried to disable it because I was told you had to take apart the dashboard and find the actual chime speaker. This was a million times easier lol

I just cut one side of the mike and soldered two wires to it and ran it to a switch in the panel under my steering column so I can just turn it off when I don't want it but still have it functioning as normal the rest of the time.
@@madigogamer9259nope I just did it, only downside is it also disables the door open icon on your dashboard but if you can’t tell your door is closed all the way then that’s embarrassing. So much better without the loud ass door chime

So I can look it up in internet and buy one of them. I don't want the normal ones who are truly annoying. I think I like this sound and the one of the Ford Explorer.

Yea sometimes I check my fluids/vacuum my car or just whatever and have my car on while I leave my door open and that chime was super annoying

Does the switch also work with interior lights when u open the door? When i open the door the interior light stays on until i close it
It's a sensor that checks the status of the door, so of course the light won't come on if you have the senser disabled.

A piece of duct tape would have been easier 😂 just slap it on the button inside the door rip it off when you want the chime 🙂

Downsides of this is when you forget to turn your lights off you wont hear that worning beep and couple hours later you have dead battery.

This isn't the real solution. Just find the beeper and disconnect it so you retain your door open indicator.
We did that and it kept ringing I don't recommend it 🥲
