In general they don't have major problems, engine and gearbox are solid, maintenance items and labor is expensive, specially if going to official service, but I wouldn't say it's a car you should be scared about. @@colbyadkins3397 So of course they will cost more than a regular car, but it's not that bad. They're surprisingly reliable too, I've had mine a year now with zero issues and with 90k miles on the clock. My last oil change was about $145, but then again its not like you're paying that every week, it's just every so often. Regular maintenance isn't bad either, it's about the same cost as a regular BMW more or less. The most expensive thing about the car from my experience are the tires (depending on which you get) but they can be $190-$390 a tire. Are you looking at getting an F-Type?

The S has 40 more horsepower, but it's only above 5000 RPM which as a daily driver is hardly noticeable, and it has adjustable suspension and all that but again as a daily driver it doesn't really matter. I bought a 2016 S manual transmission coupe this past May. A gorgeous car in triple black, all the options. I know the automatic is quicker but I wanted the 6-speed manual. Plenty fast on the narrow New Hampshire roads where I live. My 2016 Mazda MX-5/Miata makes better sense here but the Jaguar is an event to drive. It's in my garage for the winter, it's never seen salt and won't while I own it. I bought it with 29,000 miles on it, everything works. We're told that $50,000 is the average price of a car today, that's what I paid and I'm happy with that. Oh, and the sound, fantastic sound!

2019 RWD P340 base in Ultra Blue Metallic w/ 6MT. I have had it four years now with only one issue covered by warranty. The exhaust valves squeaked like a mouse when they closed. Asked the dealer to lubricate, but they just replaced the whole thing. Surprised to hear the recommendation for the auto. Most reviewers in US who have been in both cars, recommend the manual. Great film and nice to see something on the 340 model. Most YT F Type films are on the V8s or V6S. I brought a 2017 v6 340 a couple of months ago and loving it so far. As for the last comment in the film the only thing I would like from the more expensive versions would be the adaptive dampers as it is a bit too stiff for the terrible roads around here (Atlanta GA) in stock form. I might see if there is an aftermarket solution to soften the ride (without compromising the handling) a little.

I have the 340 and would love to get the tune that takes it to 400 hp. What tune do you recommend, and who can perform it in the Southern United States? Also, can it be installed without canceling the warranty? I have three years left on my warranty and don't want to affect that.

@@RJ-nf3jm velocity AP. A few things to know tho.
Don’t ask for pops and bangs to be turned up to 11… you will blow a Cat.
Once the tune is installed you won’t show anything on the ecu. Jag won’t know. However if you take it off, they will know. Sooo if you have issues with the car you will need to request an OEM tune from velocity AP and install that. Removing the tune will flash an error code 8000.
It changes the car. Remember it accelerates MUCH faster and sounds better, but the brakes are the same. ….. ping with questions

I think there are plenty of great sounding V6s. A Busso sounds as good as a motor of any other configuration.
Bad sound is normally droney slushbox family taxi with a crappy oversized untuned aftermarket exhaust.
Also this is a cool car but it annoys me that "luxury" end brands won't fit an LSD when these days every affordable entry level performance car (i20N, Fiesta ST, 86, even an old V6 Commodore) has one.

I dunno. That farting downshift we heard in several of the exterior shots is enough to put me off. Pops and bangs is one thing, a full on fart just sounds like it's broken, I'd be embarrassed.
Also - this car is 10 years old now. Everyone slammed the 370Z for being so incredibly ancient by the time it was 10 years old - where's the same comments for the Jag? The F-type is based on the even older XK platform just like the Z34 was based on the Z33 platform, both made shorter in the later revision.
