I own a 2014 F-Type V8S convertible as a daily driver with 69,000 miles. In 4 years of ownership, apart from regular maintenance items, the only issues I have had were a slight leak on the differential, a known issue on early cars due to a small breather pipe which blocks over time, and a slightly leaking coolant pipe which was unfortunately deep in the engine. Both were fixed, the Diff seal by a main dealer and the coolant leak by an independent specialist. Otherwise the car has been totally reliable and is a total joy on every drive. I have owned many cars in 45+ years of driving, including 5 other Jags which were much more costly to maintain properly. The F-Type is the best car I have ever owned and one I hope to keep until I no longer drive. They are high performance means with soul and character, with that comes a certain expense, but believe me the cost is more than justified.

I'm sure you will agree as an owner that this generation F-Type is a modern classic. I hate the update to the current gen and wished that Jaguar had gone a different direction with the headlights or just left it alone. At any rate as with all cars there will be problems that comes with age but if it is well maintained and you address the issues as they come up, the S-Type is relatively reliable. The fact that it is a high mileage car shouldn't deter anyone from seriously considering purchasing one if they know what to look out for. That's why I would just like to say thank you for this video. It really serves as a guide for anyone looking to get their hands on this modern classic. I don't own one as yet but I feel more comfortable knowing what I know now. My only issue is whether to go for the V6 or a V8.

@@Sals_Garage and everyone. 70,000 miles is considered high millage. On most European cars you must look at miles sort of like dog years. My primary car for daily use is a Nissan Murano and don't have any problem with that as well. Just know what you are buying and how to drive it. The issue is when people who can't normally afford these cars get them for cheap and then try to drive them like Nissan, Honda, or Toyota as their daily primary car. (Some people can get away with it though if drive with care and parked indoor in temp controlled environment). Otherwsise, you will pay if you drive these like a Japanese daily car in most cases. I have 42,200 miles on the exactly same car....no repairs since new.....same brakes and battery...maintenance is cheap compared to other sports cars. I have owed this car since May 2014....changed tires once..Michelin tires now.
I started off with a 2017 F Type base V6. I loved it… But I recently traded it in for a 2017 F Type R AWD… Let me tell you it’s night and day. The V8 is a whole different monster and if you ever get a chance to upgrade I would highly recommend it.
F type is one of most beautiful sports car in my eyes, but I can't get over how unreliable it is. I had g35 with 150k with no issue. Now I have q50 with 50k with 0 issue. Tried and tested VQ engine
Typical mechanical issues for cars with 70k-80k miles. I'm there now with my 2016 F-Type "R:" too. Still, I'll probably pay the price of maintaining and keeping this car for it's second life to 150k+ miles. That's how much I like it. And, with Jaguar now changing to EV by 2025, I think I like my even more when we get there.
I was a month away from buying one of this as a daily, nothing crazy, just 8k milles a year... But this video makes me rethink about it. My other option is an RS3, more practical, more rational, faster and better handling but far far away in sound and look
For a daily driver, this car is tough to recommend. If you can get it with a warranty and keep it stock, you will be fine. A lot of the issues this car had are preventable. For injectors, use injector cleaner once a month or so. For coolant leaks, you can try removing the engine cover to make sure heat isn’t trapped near the plastic coolant pipes. For the rear differential, make sure to change the fluid every 30k miles. For the catalytic converter, you have a 8 year/80k mile warranty on them. Also if you don’t tune the car they are less likely to fail. Hope you can feel comfortable with whichever decision you make. Good luck and take care.
@@Sals_Garage thank you for your recommendations! I think I love this car so much that I would "forgive" it for any malfunction. Hopefully buying from a Jag dealer with the 2 year warranty of Jaguar approved I'll be covered 🤞

My S has 135000 km (just under 84000 miles). I guess that, relative to your typical family soccer mom type vehicle, it would be considered low mileage. For a higher end sports car however, maybe not so much. My wife had an Outlander with 350,000 km and a Santa Fe with 250,000 km. Both were pristine when they found new homes. But they were never driven the way the Jaguar is. Ever. I drive the Jag HARD. Yes I’ve had a few pricey maintenance items - water pump, air conditioning compressor, rear control arms, rear differential seal, steering wheel buttons (when they malfunction, the paddle shifters, cruise c, menu options, etc. will all either quit working or will be intermittent). Hmmm…starting to sound like a lot, however it has not left me stranded. Despite all this I still love it.
I've had an f type for nearly 3 years now. Has been totally reliable no issues. Dont know why they have reputation for unreliability. Got rid of my last BMW 330e after 4 electrical failures and then wouldnt release fuel cap. Had an Audi A5 that required full engine rebuild at 70k miles. German quality is a myth.
Thanks for a great video! I have a 2015 F-Type V8 S with 67k miles causing me some problems, the coolant reservoir will not stay full. Had it checked today & he says I need a new heating supply manifold, its causing the coolant to leak onto the catalytic converter & starts steaming. Thx so much for the info!
Thanks for the comment. Yes I am familiar with that issue. Had the same problem with that hose in the back of the engine causing the smoking issue due to coolant leaking onto the exhaust pipes. Hope you can get it fixed soon. Good luck 👍
Good video but sure are a lot of commenters that know very little about performance cars. First the Jag F-Types are driven nothing like the toyota's or lexus they speak about keeping but driven very hard. Its near impossible to go casual cruising in one if you have the exhaust they do. Second this vehicle is a mutli owner vehicle who previous owners did not service needs based on looking just even at the rear diff especially for a first gen vehicle. Third, it has a tune and changes to it that will push the motor much harder. I have had 911 TT's, 911 air cooled and others and I can say the V8 AWD F-TYPE that have is bullet proof compared to the money I spent on post warranty for the Porsches. The amount spent by this high mileage vehicle does not even pay for the 1 of the 2 spoiler fails I had on the 991TT.
Great points 👍, I truly believe in the reliability of the F-Type as long as you maintain it, the motor and transmission is quite reliable. I also totally agree with you that these cars are meant to be driven spiritedly, unlike the so called reliable Toyota’s which aren’t meant to take the same abuse that a sports car gets.
I didn’t even watch the whole video… SO many issues for a fairly new-ish vehicle. Had a test drive set up but cancelled, you just saved me 50k. Thanks good sir 🙏🏽
So because one guy had some problems with his car you're going to assume they're all unreliable I've heard nothing but positive things about these cars not to mention I've never had a problem
Picking mine up in a week, 2018 v6 340hp model. as a multi bmw owner for years i'm not too worried about it's "unreliability" as it's not uncommon for something to fail on such cars but i can def see how the average person who's never owned a luxury car find it to be overwhelming. gotta pay to play

I owned this type Jag for 4 years, drove it to 100,000 miles after 4 years. All I did was change the oil every 3000 miles and drove it easy, not like a maniac. Not one problem.
Surprising number of faults at this mileage. I ran a 5.0 XK from new for 12 years and 74,000 miles and experienced no issues at all aside from routine consumable items. Perhaps the 3.0 litre engine is relatively fragile.
It's a really good video. I like the way you had video of each thing that went wrong. When you said sludge, I thought that sounded bad, until I saw it. Whoa! The only thing I would ask is that you turn the intro music down or the rest of the volume up.
To add another one: Make sure you have a washer tank fluid level sensor for front and rear... Had mine simply stop working for no reason. Around $400 labour and $50-60 for the part
A lot of these things are not unique to the F Type, but rather how the previous owner has treated their car. Cleaning with the wrong chemicals or abrasives can ruin finishes like the steering wheel and buttons, Some people have 50,000 items on their keychain and rack that against the paint every time they get in, etc. I always look for the signs of a careless owner when I buy a second hand car. I learned my lesson from noticing things like that on my old cars when I was a kid. I thought "damn, who owned this before me, Wolverine?" lol

Tbh, all the problems mentioned for a high performance vehicle is nothing. My XF has the similar coolant leak minor problems once in a while. Engine and gearbox is solid tho. And parts on jaguars is wayyyyy more reasonably priced that some of the German exotics.
True for the most part the Jag has been reliable as far as the engine and transmission are concerned. Just keep up with the maintenance and it should last many years.
The v8 5.0 would have been a more solid engine.I know the AJ 8 v8 5.0 has been the most reliable engine jaguar has ever baked out the factory. That v8 is in Land Rovers too
I’d rather have an F Type than a Corvette. Love the styling. Really don’t care about the minor cosmetic stuff,it’s the mechanical issues that run up the cost of owning.
Nice video. My buddy has the V8 FT he bought re-built with a salvaged title but still maintained a warranty. Nice car. I own a Maserati GranTurmiso and invented a No-Drill removable front license/action camera mount.
The discoloration on the steering wheel is the soft touch material that fades away through time. I do not know why luxury car makers think we want this material when its really crappy. You can remove it all with Acetone and then spray a sealant/ clear coat/ or finisher on top.
Very helpful and informative video. I am thinking about buying the manual trans version. But I'm a little nervous about owning a vehicle with such low production numbers. Worried about the availability of replacement parts.
Thanks for the kind comment! I was nervous about the ownership experience too, but it turned out to be one the best decisions of my life. I wouldn't be too concerned with the replacement parts. I never had an issue buying stock parts or aftermarket parts for repair/modifications. Good luck! Maybe look into an extended warranty too?
Yep, can’t believe they say it’s lifetime fluid for trans and diff. Also don’t forget to clean the differential breather valve so your seals last long.
@@Sals_Garage Yeah, I cleaned the breather after I had my first pinion seal replaced (under warranty thankfully), but the install was botched by the dealer. They did right by me and replaced it a second time at no cost though, so I'm not complaining.
Nice FType, just to mention I have a 2011 XJL 5.0 my feul injectors went out at 80k along with some spark plugs cost me $ 3k thru private mechanic to repair dealer wanted $ 4300 but I love my Jag.
Thanks! I am grateful the injectors were covered by previous owner under warranty. I also changed the spark plugs my self so I saved a good amount of money. m.ruclips.net/video/Hmjc917mxXA/видео.html
I don't think Honda could fix your engine since it's really not damaged, it's really a design problem with direct injection engine so you'll really need to do shorter oil change intervals. Good to see that you could just DIY it.
I have a 2014 modelyear. I bought it in 2015 lucklily never had many issues. Currently the only issue that I have, is that my PDC/Camera won't work after a heavy rain for some time, however I haven't found the culprit yet
I love your reviews on your f-type. I don't have one but I'm really considering buying one by the end of this year or first part of this year. How easy has it been for you to find the parts, like the normal wear and tear parts? I can't find any videos on the suspension system, changing the shocks and struts, changing the alternator or even changing the water pump or thermostat. I like to do as much of the work as possible on my vehicle. So how much work have you been able to do on Jag yourself and how much trouble has it been to get the parts? Thanks.
Considering that it is a baby Aston Martin, in terms of beauty I'd much rather have the Jaguar, cheaper to buy, easier and cheaper to maintain, dealers everywhere. A used Aston V8 from 2010 will cost you aprox the same. For the same money you can buy a low mileage 2018 or even a 2020 Jaguar, sure not the same but.....a very good alternative.
What year? They changed all those button issues with the 2018 model with different materials. I saw a yellow button so yours is the problem generation. They also moved the hood vents and got plastic covers to divert the water in order to not cause engine issues. They also changed the interior center air vents, so the gear didn't break as easily. Definitely buy a 2018 and newer to avoid a lot of these issues. They also added a face-lift and new LEDs in 2018.
Interesting and informative. Not too bad for a high end car with a lot repaired under warranty. And no disrespect intended, but I was itching to do a detailed cleaning of that interior. LOL
Jag owner here, 2016 XF with the 3.0 and 87,000 km (about 55,000 miles). Only issues I've had are a leaking rad hose, malfunctioning rear camera, and a malfunctioning sunroof sensor. Mechanically the car has been lights out. Always maintained properly at the dealership. Driven spiritedly, and even took it for a track day. Love love love this car. The V6's are reliable. The V8's have their issues which are potentially more serious. Once you start modding tho... Who the heck knows.
Great video mate helped a lot. I have the v6s also. A year ago had to replace 3 of my injectors and after that I had the check engine light because of the cats clogged up but some spirited drive made my check engine go away. Since then I have done 2000 miles and now the check engine light came back. I hope after some spirited drives ot will go away or I will have to go catless. How does the sound change? Is it much louder when the exhaust flaps are open or closed? Thanks!
@@Sals_Garage you said the decat doubled the sound. Did it also change the sound? Before taking out the cat you removed the resonator and the muffler, I will keep the resonator and muffler so I'm just asking if it will only make it louder or it will also change the sound
I had a 2016 F-Type . The rear diff is a common issue. they changed mine complete at 29,000 klms and everyone else that i know with F-Type had the diff changed . too many issues for the few miles i put on it . hood never fits
Yes, it is a common issue, mostly due to leaking seals or clogged breather vent. Crazy how expensive the differential is and how tricky the labor is as well.
I went to the dealer first to see if they could replace it but I got denied due to VAP tune and modifications. I bought a pair of downpipes used on ebay to install them for yearly smog check. I like not having to worry about the cats anymore when driving hard.
Thanks for sharing. I did not have an O2 sensor issue. My issue was with the catalytic converter breaking apart due VAP tune and burbles. De-cat and retune fixed the issue.
I don’t know much about Porsche. My opinion is that they are too common in all the car meets I go too. I like the rarity of the F-Type here in the USA. Honestly can’t go wrong with either. Good luck 👍

Good video. Thinking of getting 2019, just because I want to make lots of noice. I’m not a handywomen so I would be screwed. With the price at the dealership for repairs. Do you have any opinions on my take.
I would recommend getting an extended warranty for it just in case. The parts and labor is very expensive at the dealer. You can try an independent mechanic too but they might not be familiar working in these rare cars.
The exhaust is the same loudness. The S just has a button to quiet it down. As for the LSD, that is probably the best thing about the S model. I’m sure you can retrofit an aftermarket LSD or a used one if needed.
Love my F Type!... but has anyone had any issues with random beeping/chiming, like an internal alarm. Happens randomly when I'm parked and sometimes when I'm driving. Please let me know if anyone has a clue what this is.
Yes I’ve had this. I think it’s the passenger detection seatbelt alarm - sometimes if you have a bag on the passenger seat, the computer will briefly think someone is there, beep at you then immediately shut up and not show anything on the dashboard.
Nicely sorted video, well done with great explanations. Kudos. As a guy (who’s name happens to be Sal) who has owned various sports cars since the 1970’s I don’t know that I consider 70K miles to be ‘high mileage’, but perhaps it is accurate given the newer generation of cars are 90+% plastic under the bonnet and accountants win out over engineers. I owned a used (pre-owned for the Millennial / Gen Z crowd) 16’ F-Type base and sold the car after one year. While the design is stunning, I simply was not impressed overall; and yes, I drove the S and R Types prior to purchasing. Regarding the S and especially the R, other than producing a great deal of exhaust noise, I wasn’t moved to purchase power I would never use unless on a track (I’m pragmatic like that). I admit it didn’t help that I elected to purchase an automatic transmission, which in my view is sinful in a sports car, though I’m speaking rather hypocritically here... Beyond the F-Type’s poor fit and finish as well as multitude of wonky parts for the price of entry, in my humble opinion, I have come to feel that today’s (the last 15 years or so) sports cars have become increasingly too sterile, offering no sense of oneness with the car. Get behind the wheel of a 1980’s 911, 93’ RX7, 97’ NSX (re mileage, I purchased mine with 76K miles and in 5 years of ownership and 20K miles, beyond normal maintenance I only replaced a worn tie-rod), 65’ C2 Corvette, a 68’ Jaguar XKE FHC. These examples will give you seat of the pants thrills and enjoyment that simply cannot be matched by today’s sports cars. Once more, this is simply my humble opinion.... no one’s baby is ugly....
I appreciate the thoughtful comment. You’re right, most sports cars have become more focused on comfort and cost savings that the raw feel of a true sports car is lost. Great list of examples you mentioned for good sports cars from the past. I have been contemplating on a new project sports car to choose and your list inspired me. Especially an NSX. I recently saw one in mint condition, looks great still in today’s generation.
have you tried the jaguar XKs? a late 1990s xk8 has so much character to it, imo even the 2007-15 XK is a great well put together car also. there was a small decline in quality with the F-type for sure. but we got an XK8 and an XK after because they feel like such a good blend of classic character but modern useability. only cheap feeling thing on the xk8 is the ac control buttons and stereo being plastic

I have a friend that has a Nissan GTR and used it for 20k a year primary car and he also paid big time. It is also a performance machines and not made for daily high mile usage. It would be like taking a Nascar to work daily and complaining the car broke down. If you want a semi luxury every day car get a Lexus or Genesis they are great for that.
I have 42,200 miles on the exactly same car....no repairs since new.....same brakes and battery...maintenance is cheap compared to other sports cars. I have owed this car since May 2014....changed tires once..Michelin tires now.
It's a great reliable car with no major issues really. Thank you for sharing! May you have many more years of problem free ownership.
Thanks Scott for your comments - I'm thinking about this car aswell - good to know it's quite reliable.
I started off with a 2017 F Type base V6. I loved it… But I recently traded it in for a 2017 F Type R AWD… Let me tell you it’s night and day. The V8 is a whole different monster and if you ever get a chance to upgrade I would highly recommend it.
Thanks for the comment! I just sold the V6 S and will be shopping for the V8 model once prices settle down, hoping they don’t keep going up 😆
@@Sals_Garage yeah. You can currently find a nice R in the $70,000 range. For what your getting its well worth it.
@@caleboldhouser478 damn, I should have got the V8 convertible F Type on sale last year for $33k. They are all out of my price range right now 😢

F type is one of most beautiful sports car in my eyes, but I can't get over how unreliable it is. I had g35 with 150k with no issue. Now I have q50 with 50k with 0 issue. Tried and tested VQ engine
Thanks for sharing. I agree. The VQ engine is awesome
Thanks for showing us the real life issues the F-Type can have. Appreciate you explaining them clearly.
Anytime! Thanks for watching 🙏
Good work on keeping that tuned F-Type running healthy.
Thanks man!
I agree with you, these cars are a keeper especially with Jaguar switching to EV only. I can see the value of these vehicles going up over time.
Whats the matter with your R?
@@rabobravo Good luck in the search! I think you will love the car. There is a lot to like! I have a few reasons in this video.

It's even in the same level.. Power is fixed with a remap.. Sound looks and feel of ftype is not in the same level as rs3.. They all look like shoe boxes
Buy the Jag!!
Thanks for sharing! I’m glad you enjoy the car 😊
Yes, I agree with you, as long as you keep up the maintenance schedule, these F Types are quite reliable.
Liar
I have a 2015 F-Type and you've hit all the high (or low) points. But I still love owning the car.
I love it too! Our favorite car we have owned so far.
I didn’t even watch the whole video… SO many issues for a fairly new-ish vehicle. Had a test drive set up but cancelled, you just saved me 50k. Thanks good sir 🙏🏽
Glad it helped. Good luck on your new car search 👍
So because one guy had some problems with his car you're going to assume they're all unreliable I've heard nothing but positive things about these cars not to mention I've never had a problem
This is why I daily a Lexus IS, I have no problems at 240k miles. I still want this car but I'm definitely happy with what I have now
I feel ya, if you have the money and patience you should try it someday. Life is too short to drive boring cars 😆
@randy1998-y9y agreed 👍
Yes! I had plenty of BMWs before so I am risk averse when it comes to European sports cars. Congrats on your new car 👏
and everyone. 70,000 miles is considered high millage. On most European cars you must look at miles sort of like dog years. Thanks for the feedback. Good point 👍
It's considered high mileage because people usually Drive these things only on the weekends and things like that they're pretty darn reliable
@@200mphBrian Agreed!
I owned this type Jag for 4 years, drove it to 100,000 miles after 4 years. All I did was change the oil every 3000 miles and drove it easy, not like a maniac. Not one problem.
Thanks for sharing 🙏
Surprising number of faults at this mileage. I ran a 5.0 XK from new for 12 years and 74,000 miles and experienced no issues at all aside from routine consumable items. Perhaps the 3.0 litre engine is relatively fragile.
Possibly, thanks for sharing

It's a really good video. I like the way you had video of each thing that went wrong. When you said sludge, I thought that sounded bad, until I saw it. Whoa! The only thing I would ask is that you turn the intro music down or the rest of the volume up.
Thanks for the feedback 🙏
To add another one: Make sure you have a washer tank fluid level sensor for front and rear... Had mine simply stop working for no reason. Around $400 labour and $50-60 for the part
Thanks for sharing. Sounds unfortunate

Seems relatively affordable compared to what i currently own. Might have to pick one of these up if i can find a solid tuner.

The v8 5.0 would have been a more solid engine.I know the AJ 8 v8 5.0 has been the most reliable engine jaguar has ever baked out the factory. That v8 is in Land Rovers too
Yes. The 5.0L V8 was adjusted from Jaguar to make the V6 engine so the V8 was the original design and intent.
I’d rather have an F Type than a Corvette. Love the styling. Really don’t care about the minor cosmetic stuff,it’s the mechanical issues that run up the cost of owning.
Totally agree, Corvette is too common here in the States, F type has a unique look.
Me too. A bit more exotic.
Nice video. My buddy has the V8 FT he bought re-built with a salvaged title but still maintained a warranty. Nice car. I own a Maserati GranTurmiso and invented a No-Drill removable front license/action camera mount.
Thanks! I am still on the hunt for a good deal on the V8. That’s awesome you were able to invent a multi use removable license plate!
🙄😒 Invented?..?..eh hem...don't you mean made?
Still i would buy it just for it’s sexy rear bumper🔥
I agree!
The discoloration on the steering wheel is the soft touch material that fades away through time. I do not know why luxury car makers think we want this material when its really crappy. You can remove it all with Acetone and then spray a sealant/ clear coat/ or finisher on top.
Thanks for the tip! 🙏
Wow your diff oil was straight up pudding. At least the seals aren't leaking, I had to have my seals replaced twice.
Yep, can’t believe they say it’s lifetime fluid for trans and diff.
Also don’t forget to clean the differential breather valve so your seals last long.

Thanks.

That's NOT bad. I expected a lot worse. I wouldn't be afraid to buy one.
@@tedmarakas2626 right! Totally manageable
@@tedmarakas2626 absolutely, Jaguar compared to Ashton Martin is a great value.
2015, thanks for sharing your info. Seems like the later models are more ideal.

I just received this last week:
Dear Current or Former Owner or Lessee:
This letter is to notify you that Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC has decided to offer additional warranty benefits related to the Exhaust System Oxygen (O2) sensors installed in certain vehicles listed below:
JAGUAR VEHICLES AFFECTED* MODEL YEAR
F-PACE 2017
F-TYPE 2014 - 2017
XE 2017
XF 2013 - 2017
XJ 2013 - 2017
XK 2013 - 2015
*Only vehicles fitted with a GTDi 2.0L, V6 3.0L SC, V8 5.0L, or V8 5.0L SC gasoline engines.
This extended warranty program does not apply to Partial Zero Emission Vehicles (PZEV) registered in California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Vermont. The O2 sensors of PZEVs that are registered in these states are covered under an existing warranty of 15 years or 150,000 miles (whichever occurs first).
In line with our commitment to customer satisfaction, we are offering these benefits in response to reports of performance issues with exhaust system O2 sensors.
What is the Concern?
The O2 sensor concerns can be caused by either design or manufacturing variations or by system operating software and can lead to illumination of the check engine light (MIL) and potentially a minor increase in tailpipe emissions. There are no effects to vehicle performance. Vehicle repairs now benefit from enhanced system robustness improvements to component design, manufacturing processes and operating software.
How long is the extended warranty?
The extended warranty limits are defined in the following table:
MODEL PETROL ENGINE VARIANT COVERAGE
F-PACE 3.0 L
F-TYPE 3.0 L
XE 3.0 L
XF 3.0 L
XJ 3.0 L
15 years / 150,000 mi (whichever occurs first)
F-TYPE 5.0 L
XE 2.0 L
XF 2.0 L, 5.0 L
XJ 5.0 L
XK 5.0 L
10 years / 120,000 mi (whichever occurs first)
What should you do?
Should your vehicle's check engine light illuminate, please contact your preferred authorized Jaguar Retailer, provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and make a service appointment to diagnose the concern.
Any required repairs/replacements to any O2 sensor or to O2 sensor operating software will be covered at no cost to you for the length of the applicable extended warranty period.
Jaguar recommends you keep a copy of this letter in your glovebox with your vehicle literature pack and it be provided to the new owner of your vehicle if it is sold.
What if I have previously paid for this concern?
If any current or former owner has already paid for this service before the date of this letter, Jaguar is offering a refund. In order to qualify for a refund, please provide your authorized retailer with the original paid receipt. To avoid delays, please do not send the receipt to Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC.

The older ones more so, but these newer Jags are quite reliable if taken care of.

I would recommend getting an extended warranty for it just in case. The parts and labor is very expensive at the dealer. You can try an independent mechanic too but they might not be familiar working in these rare cars.
Im looking to get one so please keep making videos.
Excited for you! Will do. Thanks for commenting.
amazing, also in future will get that car, and + F-pace :p
Thanks, that will be a good combo, F Type and F pace.
Hey brother, do you still have the Jag? Im really considering getting of these next year but worried about reliability. They look so nice 😍
Sold it and got a Lotus Elise. The F type is a lot of fun and worth it!
@Sals_Garage Congrats man! The f type never gave any serious and costly issues during your ownership? And around what milage did you sell it?
Damn audis and bmw look like tables if you put them near to this.. Very special car
Agreed.
70.000 miles for big blocks v6/ v8 is not really problematic if the car has been well repared
Well said 👍
Great video bro! Thank you
No problem man. Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it.
get some JB weld for that coolant reservoir leak homie, works miracles too late now but if ever in the future
Thanks for the tip! Will try that next time.
picking up a 14 base, also supercharged, whats the difference between the s and the base?
Good choice. The only difference is the S has 40 more HP via software tune. The S model also has exhaust valves, bigger brakes, 20” wheels, and an LSD.
@@Sals_Garage so louder exhaust but really im missing the lsd.. i really wish it had that.. im on my way for it now in California from Arizona.
The exhaust is the same loudness. The S just has a button to quiet it down.
As for the LSD, that is probably the best thing about the S model. I’m sure you can retrofit an aftermarket LSD or a used one if needed.
@@Sals_Garage interesting, ill have to watch your other video so i can nake it whine more as well as making it faster.
@@euthopialis7031 Awesome! Excited for you! Good luck and let me know if you got a question.
Re injectors - known to clog up with poor quality fuel, solution is simply to use quality injector cleaner a every year or so
Good advice
Great review
@@LifeWithZach thank you!
Love my F Type!... but has anyone had any issues with random beeping/chiming, like an internal alarm. Happens randomly when I'm parked and sometimes when I'm driving. Please let me know if anyone has a clue what this is.
Never had this issue, hope you can get it resolved soon.
Is ur tpms sensor light on in ur dash? Mine would do that when it would get cold at night but disappeared when it got hot the next day.
Yes I’ve had this. I think it’s the passenger detection seatbelt alarm - sometimes if you have a bag on the passenger seat, the computer will briefly think someone is there, beep at you then immediately shut up and not show anything on the dashboard.
"The car sounds really bad after the catalytic converter"
Revs engine
Me: oh my god that sounds amazing
@@pwally2714 😂 the F-Type sounds good anytime 😆
How to you feel about the awd supercharged v8 models?
Excellent performance and similar reliability to the V6.
I always wondered.. can you supercharge this V6? The P300 with a remap only gets to 320hp. Any of guys know how to crank it up more? Thanks!
Hi, the V6 is already supercharged from the factory. There is no aftermarket larger supercharger upgrade at this time yet.
@@Sals_Garage hi Thanks for the info! Maybe Hennessey could help with their HPE600 kit.
@@mr.g1123 no problem! That would be awesome!
