Very well done video, and I'm glad you guys mentioned that it's not intended for the track. Its weight -somewhere between 3600 and 3900lbs - rules out fast lap times. Good job reviewing the most outrageously fun car of all time. The 2015 R weighs 3607 lbs, less than a 2016 V6. The 15R is also ferociously faster than an AWD SVR due to its 25% higher WHP to weight ratio.

It would certainly be an easier purchase if it were a Sunbelt car and that's where you lived. I suspect someone in Tata QA got a little careless and I hope they lost their cushy job over it.
@Michael Pullins nobody's going around calling the LC500 a "supercar". Plenty are calling it "a very nice, hyper-luxurious grand-touring machine with a gem of a V8, that they would like to own very much". If a 2wd poverty-spec F-150 is your dream vehicle, more power to ya man.
I own a 2015 F-Type that I purchased at CarMax for less than $50,000. The car has less than 21,000 miles on it and it's a blast to drive. I couldn't be happier with the F-Type. And it's nice to drive a car every day that doesn't look like every other car in the world.
You touched on the talking point of it being a "Special Car" and this is something their engineers say and strive for the cars to be. As always you've done a great job on the review! Liked and Subscribed.
Hey Mark, thanks for bringing Jack to your channel. This review made me appreciate him even more. Glad he took over "Turbowski" who was a complete bore.
No... for how much this cost you can get a mustang coyote with a 6 speed tremec and have enough left over to do an insane aftermarket exhaust system. Itll sound better, be more reliable, faster, and way more fun because of the 6 speed.
My friend has an F-Type V6S. It is a fantastic car. He tracks, autocrosses, and extreme street drives it. I have driven it several times and it is such a beast. The comment you made about "You wouldn't track this car" couldn't be further from the truth. While being a heavy GT car, they handle exceptionally well. His best friend owns a GT350 and they are always back and forth on their lap times.

I just bought a 14' V6 S roadster for 27k, awaiting delivery from the dealer... I've had the exact same thoughts... eventually this car will appreciate and I'll get my money back if not more!
New generation Jags are super reliable and comfortable enough for daily driving. Buying a well kept used one is actually a sensible alternative to wasting the next five years of your precious driving time in a Camry.
It's simple why we, Jack and the rest of us, love the F-Type. It's RWD, amazing sounding V8, and one of the most beautiful designs of all time. Crazy it's a 2 tonner though.
I've had my Eye on a F-type roadster for a minute, but couldnt justify the price. I had a Range Rover Sport with roughly the same engine back in the day and it always was fun as hell, could only imagine it in a small car. Im going to have to take a serious look at them now, found a few around $38k with low mileage in the roadster.... i'll check back if i pick one up ;) update 1 month later: I just picked up a 2017 type R, black convertible, all thanks to this video. thank you guys!!

Switch wheels and tires to SVR spec, and add PS4S (265F, 305R) and it will be a canyon carver and a great daily driver. Just won’t be your track car. Also the seats are awesome for less than 2 hours.. after that they start wearing you down. Try to get one with the fixed glass roof, its effective in making it airy. They had two of these as pace cars and the race manager was amazing and let me ride with the driver for a hot lap leading the 2-liter+ class (911/BMW 2002 etc) to the green flag. Driver turned off traction control and we got to do similar acceleration to this around Pittsburgh’s Schenley park 😂
I plan to get one. That body style is so perfect and classic. I had no idea who designed it. No wonder it looks so good. Jag needed this really bad and so do we. I'm glad its not too short or small like the Z or BRZ.
In 2016 I bought a new F Type S Convertible in Glacier White and have been loving it ever since. Since I first saw it at a Jaguar event in 2013, it has been my dream car and never really thought I could afford it. Now I own my dream car and will never let it go. I also purchased a 2018 Kia Stinger GT2 AWD with all the bells and whistles as my daily driver (despite geese's review). So you have great taste. Great review. I would tempted to find one of these if I didn't already buy a brand new 2020 Bullitt. I think it is just as much fun, plus it's brand new with a full warranty. Got to rent the 2020 F-Type SVR Convertible this summer for a few days and it was super fun. Didn't get to drive far or anything because it was flooding that week lol. Something about that engine and the exhaust just makes you smile.
The pre facelift F-Type looks so much better than the new one. This actually looks like a jag. The new one just like a sporty car with a generic front end.
I'm glad you guys did this review. I've been eyeing this car for past 6 months and you guys are very informative. I myself will be looking into a convertible awd F Type R though, since BMW discontinued hardtop convertibles.
Ok, new SavageGeese review is in, everyone knows the rules by now: High quality footage & music soundtrack, only one shirt, no visor or cliche corner test, No Turbowski, and no final score at the end.

It really is a great car. A buddy of mine rented one on Turo, and let me have a go. It's not a car I would have ever picked, but I was shocked how good it was. The engine note is right up there with my E92 M3. The steering feel and feedback is pretty darn close too. It went from a car I dismissed, to a car I would buy.
Love this video. Love this car. Easily an all time great. That engine sound is breath taking. Shame they ruined it on the refresh. At $45K-$50k ish this car makes so much sense
Absolute beast! Beautiful car, sounds amazing, I just wish the interior was a little better. I was disappointed to feel how hard the soft touch surfaces feel, and how many plastic areas it had. They don't feel padded at all which at the price point was disappointing, but everything else is just spot on.

Loved this car since it came out ... maybe it's because I love the Aston Martin Vantage so much. The F-Type has lines that will always be in-style and age extremely well.
Fabulous design. New refresh so very sad. Have owned both the 2016 S V-6 coupe and the 2014 V8S convertible. Lots of fun & worth every (depreciated) penny! The V6 S is more restrained; you don’t wake the neighbors when you start it up! Had no reliability issues with either. Fit and finish were ok. Thanks for posting this review. Excellent as always.
I’ve been saying it for a decade and short of that for the F-type. My buddy is an internist doc owns his own practice in Florida (Jag, Maserati, merc capital) and he owns a 2015 Ftype R rear wheel drive. He always complained on how scary it was to drive with a rear end that’ll beat you to the finish line and he was fond of my Porsche 911 1999 so we swapped for supposed to be a week but ended up being two days, but I was ecstatic. The feeling when you slide in and start it up is in fact exciting. It felt right. The exhaust is designed to mimic the snarl of a real Jaguar and I knew it when I cranked it up. From the jump pulling outta the parking lot the car is untamed and the rear end wants to go it’s own way. Lighten up the throttle and it snaps back but breaks loose instantly again. Dangerous to most drivers I’d assume but I whipped it into control with not too many issues. Driving from Hyde park to carrollwood I passed Raymond James with the TB Buccaneers playing. I had to light it up for the tail gators and a sick Lambo was skirting by so he did the same. Pure enjoyment. Ok so the rear end underneath you take the cross bars off and take them to a metal shop and dip them in nickel or a hard anodized solution to stop any rust. His Ftype had carbon fiber replacement bits where the cheap plastic was. Tires were pzero’s and struggled to bite when pushed but once warmed up they semi tamed the beast. I gotta say it’s a handful to drive and it’s a killer to most that attempt it. Talking the 2015 model. Stupid fun car and I loved it. Would I trade my much older 911 for it? Nope.

Fair enough. It's a nice GT. Acura isn't making something like it.
I own a 2015 F-Type that I purchased at CarMax for less than $50,000. The car has less than 21,000 miles on it and it's a blast to drive. I couldn't be happier with the F-Type. And it's nice to drive a car every day that doesn't look like every other car in the world.
Hellcat owner: “nobody thinks you can read and everyone thinks you beat your wife”. Comment of the month 😂
Dont forget he followed it up with "At least in this car people like you"
I really appreciate this video. I had no idea how fun these cars were, I was smiling right with you guys.
One of my top 3 "wants." Would have to drive this and the v6 manual to decide. Thanks savagegeese!
You touched on the talking point of it being a "Special Car" and this is something their engineers say and strive for the cars to be. As always you've done a great job on the review! Liked and Subscribed.
One of the very best sounding Full production Factory exhaust systems ever
Hey Mark, thanks for bringing Jack to your channel. This review made me appreciate him even more. Glad he took over "Turbowski" who was a complete bore.
This is the best sound system mid $40k can buy.
An instant woody for my Friday morning. So f'ing beautiful.
e92, e60, gt350 sound pretty damn good too
No... for how much this cost you can get a mustang coyote with a 6 speed tremec and have enough left over to do an insane aftermarket exhaust system. Itll sound better, be more reliable, faster, and way more fun because of the 6 speed.
@@Bailey_54R The mustangs sound can be a bit tough for some people compared to something like this. Also the mustang manuals are far from reliable.
@@TheJalopy80 they actually are really solid. Way more reliable than this British electrical nightmare
His best friend owns a GT350 and they are always back and forth on their lap times.
your friend's best friend can't drive.
Jag has produced a beautiful “refreshed” Aston...
Your best vid by far (& you make great, fun & informative content)
Found myself grinning all the way through it. Kudos gents!
"This is like a Hellcat that can read" was the line of the video.
Wow. Great work. Just got a subscriber. Never seen used car reviews like this undercarriage review was brilliant. One of my favorite cars and after this review will be searching. Thank you
Absolutely love these cars and I'm about to type something that's most likely going to be discounted.....but I believe one day these things will be a collector's dream car going up in price. Get them while you still can.
There is no doubt.
I just bought a 14' V6 S roadster for 27k, awaiting delivery from the dealer... I've had the exact same thoughts... eventually this car will appreciate and I'll get my money back if not more!
I have rebuilt cars and learned trouble the hard way...at the side of the road.... This is a real review - thanks!
It sounds like this a car you buy with your heart and not your mind.
That's most Jaguars, honestly
All nice cars pretty much, if you don’t buy car with your heart you’re probably not a enthusiast.
You mean just like buying any European cars out there
Mike McGlock not really
New generation Jags are super reliable and comfortable enough for daily driving. Buying a well kept used one is actually a sensible alternative to wasting the next five years of your precious driving time in a Camry.
Im kicking myself in the ass not looking at the market 2 years ago for these before buying my audi
Can we just appreciate this amazing editing , amazing camera Quality and great sound effect
Oh my, I chocked on my coffee at the lap dancing professor comment! 😂👍🏼
i would do anything for a woman like that lol
It's simple why we, Jack and the rest of us, love the F-Type. It's RWD, amazing sounding V8, and one of the most beautiful designs of all time. Crazy it's a 2 tonner though.
I've had my Eye on a F-type roadster for a minute, but couldnt justify the price. I had a Range Rover Sport with roughly the same engine back in the day and it always was fun as hell, could only imagine it in a small car. Im going to have to take a serious look at them now, found a few around $38k with low mileage in the roadster.... i'll check back if i pick one up ;)
update 1 month later: I just picked up a 2017 type R, black convertible, all thanks to this video. thank you guys!!
We’re you able to get yours for under 50k?
@@jabariphillips8855 nope. 54k for a 17 plus tax. everything’s through the roof w the inflation and mines worth more now than when i bought it. everything’s crazy now.
@@brockvanleer1010 that’s a great price still. You got in at the right time. I bought my CPO 19 f pace s in February right before this madness for 41k before taxes. Now I’m in the same boat with the value being higher but if I sell it, I’ll just end up paying even more for the next car 😭
This version looks so much better than the new narrow headlight design.
Yeah that is a pathetic update
New EU regulations that’s why every manufacturer makes headlights narrower
@@kokipopi2985 This can't be real. Do you have any source?
@@AnonAlmostDelivers Crucially for cyclists, cars and vans will also be required to include enlarged head impact protection zones capable of mitigating injuries in the event of a collision.
This somehow translate to slimmer headlights as well as different windshields and bonnets. I might be wrong though.
Finally someone that uses eyes to see. The new front is hideous...
Great video guys! As someone who is contemplating a 997.2 and one of these, the video is really timely and informative.
As an Ex 2015 R owner:
I fucking love this car, will definitely buy another one in a few years. I’d pick one up for 45K and save another 10 for the wheel-tire & paint protection.
Warming up the engine properly = reliability 👍🏼
Why did u sell it?
@@bmx687 I had an appendix surgery in a 2 week insurance gap period that costed me about $35K. I changed it for a 1LE V6 Camaro (I bought the Jag 2nd hand with 9K miles for around 60K).
Tbh, the V6 1LE was a sweetheart as well!
Hey guys love your reviews. A note, weight on the 2015 jaguar f type r is 3650 pounds. The 3,950 weight figure you mentioned is for the 2016+ AWD variant.

Waiting for the dicks out edition
What a fantastic, comprehensive and complete review, well done bro👍👍👍
That's some serious depreciation. Works out $7.67 per mile driven.
Beautiful bird, the Norwegian Blue-lovely plumage.
@Ian TB buy low milage 2-3 years old car you get pretty much half the price with pretty much a decently new car
@john m My Acura took ten years to depreciate that big a percentage and it had 60k miles on it.
@@patthonsirilim5739 That's what I did with my most recent car. About 2 years old with 18k miles. Paid $23k instead of $36k new. But that works out to $0.72/mile. A far cry from the withering depreciation of that Jag.
@mhffc no comparison. The quality/reliability on an Acura is magnitudes higher over the rusted jag 😂
Disappointing refresh!?! Exactly what it needed. Well executed.
Expletives! I'm sold... and going shopping.
PS - First SG vid I've seen in a couple years - production (every aspect) was very impressive. Concise but thorough, entertaining, informative, and some great eye-candy cinematography. Congrats on a great piece of work, and thanks for doing it!
Amazing car, I remember getting the awesome opportunity to ride in a 2016 F-Type R coupe during the 2016 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix.
The designer was both named and shown: Ian Callum.
I remember wanting the F-Type for a couple of years. Now I drive a Stinger GTII. Great video, car has aged well.
I'm now waiting to pull the trigger on a Lexus LC 500 since I've watched the geese wax poetic about the LC. That video was the first time that I watched SG and have been in love ever since. Jack and Mark are the best!
@@terencetiu5099 Funny, I have been checking out the LC500 as well. Great looking vehicle. Just waiting for the price of a used one to go abit down first :) Our tastes certainly do align.
Such a great looking car and what a sound. I'd be worried about the running cost of this still but I think it's nicer the the Lexus (though the Lexus looks a bit more special)
Thanks to the owner for letting the guys use this and have Jack gushing and giggling.
The production quality on this channel is over the top. It truly rivals that of feature films.
Great review. I would tempted to find one of these if I didn't already buy a brand new 2020 Bullitt. I think it is just as much fun, plus it's brand new with a full warranty. It has a lot of the same qualities you are talking about. I drive a 2018 F150 as my daily driver for my business. Bullitt is my toy for after work hours. Love it!
Huge soft spot for mustangs. Congratulations on the bullitt.
What they glossed over is the look - sound system, infotainment, engine, suspension, steering aside, the look is timeless.
Sort of agree...it does improve with an all-chromed front grill though.
Unfortunately, yes. That so often happens with revisions. The designer gets it right to start and all anyone can so is make it worse.
Yeah, and the first two years were LOOOOOOOUD. Now it sounds like a Camry.
@@FFE-js2zp they still sounds good, but they had to lower the noise unfortunately, but that can still be bypassed
@@FFE-js2zp they didn't tone it down until the 2021 revision, 2014-2020 were loud throughout the rev range
The world would keep on spinning without the final score.
But...I miss Turbowski.
You guys really get into the DNA of the cars that you review. This was fantastic. Also Kudos for the review of the BMW 640i GT which is so off the radar BMW America no longer import it - they should be made to watch your video.
There was a software update in the older models that would eliminate some exhaust burbles so some owners didn’t update their infotainment as a result.
The future is now old man... 😭
I have a '14 V8S Convertible. To this day, I still love driving and looking at it.
Been waiting Eons for this review. Big up savagegeese.
This is a really well produced channel. The intro montage was A1 Level.
7:17 as an canadian subscriber, I truly appreciate seeing this. Reviewers have no idea how rust resistance is important to many car shoppers like me.
Love this video. Love this car. Easily an all time great. That engine sound is breath taking. Shame they ruined it on the refresh. At $45K-$50k ish this car makes so much sense
I need to repeat. Your cinematography is outstanding!
Absolute beast! Beautiful car, sounds amazing, I just wish the interior was a little better. I was disappointed to feel how hard the soft touch surfaces feel, and how many plastic areas it had. They don't feel padded at all which at the price point was disappointing, but everything else is just spot on.
The latest generation car has taken everything up a notch in materials. Same layout, but higher spec.
Thank you for this video. This is my favorite car design ever. I’m now gonna spend the next 6 months acquiring one ❤️
Jack loves this car so much he steamed it up inside...

Loved this car since it came out ... maybe it's because I love the Aston Martin Vantage so much. The F-Type has lines that will always be in-style and age extremely well.
Great review. Confirmed my thoughts on the F-Type. Will be giving it serious consideration if I can find one I like.
The older ones look sooooooo much better than the refresh.
So happy you guys finally reviewed this car!
This beaut was my poster car for the longest time, no Lambos. This is affordable bliss!! 😇
You can get a pristine low mileage 18 from the dealer for 90k CAD, new they were like 120
I’ve been saying it for a decade and short of that for the F-type.
Nope.
