However, 2 years ago I traded it for a 2018 F-Type SVR, it has experienced an mass airflow sensor twice last year plus a GPS issue. Luckily it was covered under the warranty. Also, noted that my Jaguar XF sedan that I've owned for 4 years never had an issues other than a recall on the air bags. Regardless, all cars have issues. I have been lucky -- Knock on wood. Good luck guys!
I had a 17 Coupe R. The only minor issue i had was with the molding liner inside the rear hatch. I drove it lightly immediately after startup since new, never got on it until at least 8 min after startup in CA US weather. Drove it like I stole it where and when safe. 39 months 36k miles later, still awesome no issues or leaks. Replaced front tires twice, and the rear three times. My buddy had a 15 R, no issues again. I've hit 185 numerous times. One petpeav, don't follow the 15k oil change interval recommended by the manufacturer. They want to have the motor fail sooner so they will sell more cars. 2015 F-Type R Convertible owner here. Great video as always. As a bit of preventative maintenance, a bit of copper grease on the active exhaust vacuum pump rods prevents seizure of the exhaust valves. Keeps that sweet sounding 3500 Rpm exhaust noise on the overrun for many years to come! Drive safe buddy and enjoy every moment!
Awesome, thanks Reece for the advice, I will look into it. You are right, that exhaust note really is earth shattering and leaves quibbley little Prius's start to misfire as the F Type roars by.
I have f-type R awd 2016 with 58000 km and I went to the garage just one time for a electric seat button. My other visit, it's just for oil change 1 times per year! I put a full performance air intake on it and I hear my supercharge siler very loud! I put a racechip (brand) on it with 7 map, the car code check engine on map 3-4-5-6-7! 7 is the strongest map and 1 is the weakest map! I return the chip. I was twice on the track and I made several fast starts with! Very confortable for for long travel. For the moment, it's a very good car!
F type R owner here, just an O2 sensor for me fixed under warranty, other than that no issues, a reliable car with a well proven engine. If you live in a wet country I'd recommend you get the underside protected, the sub frames could be better protected, but that's pretty cheap to do.
Dang dude, not only did you make a quality video but you also took the time to read everyone’s comments and reply to a lot. It’s definitely refreshing to see not only a quality video but a quality person as well. I’m thinking about purchasing my own F-Type as my first vehicle. I’ve been saving every penny working hard and I want to know exactly what I’m getting into when making my decision. You’ve definitely provided everything I wanted to know and I appreciate it so much. Awesome thanks for reaching out, it’s really appreciated. This comes from passion and I believe these F Types are amazing and not much out there like them. As far as reliability goes, that’s always been secondary to me since the car delivers on all other fronts but yes, the odd electrical gremlins, freezing handles and windows, rear differential leaks or failures, coolant fittings and fuel injectors are but a few things that can go wrong . To note, many of these things are typical problems with most other modern luxury vehicles, so it’s not unreasonable. To note, good idea to have a few bucks socked away for maintenance and repairs always, so it hopefully does not take you off guard. Good luck on your search and would love to hear back what you eventually buy. Have a great week.
Just started watching your F-Type vids and want to say thank you. Just bought mine in Toronto and it's getting delivered to Edmonton in a couple weeks. Your videos have helped me to decide.

@@markholubetz free most of the time, just have to wrap your hand up and in over the passenger side axle tube and access the yellow cap, remove it, and clean it off. I would imagine the front and center diffs on the AWD models use the same breather system. I plan on trying to see if a vent tube from a different axle will work rather than the cap as i think it'd be less prone to clogging up. The ford 8.8 has a tube along the lines of what i'm thinking that's a little longer and tucks up above the axle with sort of a high loop like a dishwasher drain to prevent water from getting in.
@@markholubetz unfortunately most people only discover it after the seal gets pushed out necessitating a seal replacement anyway, even if you were to correct the vent issue.
As you said, each brand has it's issues. IMO, what you need to do is just get a car you love, and deal with issues. Just like with women :) This jag btw, has a great sounding exhaust. Thanks Mark.
Well said! and I agree. These cars are about as fun as driving gets this side of an Italian Hypercar. A little maintenance and attention can keep these beauties running for years.
I don't own an Ftype, but it's on my bucket list. I found this video to be very informative 👌 You presented it well, except the shaky cam! 🙌 Also most of these issues are improved in the new versions and some of them are fixed too 👍
Well presented , I have a V6 , the air vent problem is the same for all ,the mechanics are driven by plastic moving parts , you can dismantle the air shuttle and grease with silicone
For sure. It does seem like a potential for failure and I just put heater settings to a place that does not require the vent to lift. The less it moves, the less of a problem it becomes as well.
My 2018 Jaguar was a nightmare. It left us stranded on 3 different occasions and was in the shop off and on for 2 months. Bad injectors, bad fuel pump, lost compression, bad catalytic converter, blowing oil out the exhaust. I turned it in early on my lease and was happy ro get rid of it.
Wow, sounds like a poor experience, but I look at the modes of failure and can't help but follow the steps. Injectors are known issues, so I can see an injector leaking into the cylinder, causing a wash, which then reduces compression on that cylinder followed by uneven running and firing which then overheats the catalytic convertor resulting in a failure there. Was that oil out the exhaust or the carbon which pours out as these cars do run a little rich. Sorry to break this down but it does make one wonder. Either way, a person does not need al these issues and interruptions because it means numerous trips to a dealer, who may not be zealous in their response to throw money at it. Sorry to hear about this. Did you pick something else up?
I have a beautiful, but now somewhat issue-riddled 2007 XKR. She's a gorgeous car.... but I'm looking to now trade her for an F Type. When I saw your vid title, I at first thought, "oh dang, what's wrong with the F Types?" But now having watched, I feel better about moving in that direction. Thanks for the thorough vetting... Great vid, Sir.
The Jag brand will always have issues as do Land Rover ... my 2015 F TYPE fronts vents come up when they please and I am due to take it in to JAG soon to have them fixed. I can push them down and they raise but don`t go down themselves. But what a fun car to drive.....
I also had the R type and had zero issues, not a single one. Best sounding car I ever had, including new Ferrari’s. I have the new C8 convertible on order and I hope I am as happy with that as I was with the Jag.
Ive owned a couple supercars. The last one being a Porsche. But, swore them off several years ago due to quality issues. Had a MB that lived at the shop. But, this model has me seriously thinking of buying it.
I have a v6s, no problems up to now, the glass issue would be replaced under warranty, the diff all I would say is to replace the oil every 2 years as its not expensive and will keep your diff in good condition. Never had a problem with the supercharger or indicators and I don't have folding mirrors but if you do have them I am sure you can turn the feature off if you don't want them closing every time you lock the car and if the exhaust valves jam open it's better than them jamming closed I don't no why you would want them closed to be honest.
Haha you know it. An F Type exhaust is its signature dish. The mirrors, as far as I know cannot be switched off unless a fuse or relay is isolated. If someone knows a trick. I would love to be able to disarm the folding mirrors. I also love the shaved door handles so that can stay.
I drive a 3L v6 supercharged F Pace now (mapped to stage 1). Really love it and drives almost like a sport sedan. My next or second car would be an F Type. What a beautiful car! Thanks for sharing your experience, really helpful.
I want to know what issues you are referring to as I certainly haven’t had any of these in three years of ownership. Not even a squeak or rattle.. and as for build quality mine has been immaculate from the pdi onwards. Never had to go back to the dealer so they must get something right. German build quality isn’t all it’s meant to be-a friend of mine has had his Mercedes back at least 4 times…
Awesome video! Just found a nice 2017 SVR, gave lots of things to look at. Anything that you would recommend to look at when checking out a used F-type?
Nice video. I have an MY19 2.0. I get a bit of moisture in headlights and one light has smudged chrome, switch for interior light has blown and jag logo has half broken off floor mat. That said it’s extremely fun to drive and women are smiling at me everywhere lol
Thanks buddy for pointing out all cars have their problems, some guy ragging on jag " there so unreliable " in the comment section, while waiting for BMW/ Ford etc to come out of the shop, if I were to buy a car tomorrow it would be an XE, I've considered lots of others but its the XE all in black......so cool.
I have the 2014 v6 sport supercharger model, I just got it and it has 18,000 miles. A fun zippy controlled car and luckily haven’t had any problems yet. The buttons seem to be getting very sticky and the steering wheel is getting beat, other than cosmetics, I am in love with the car
I wonder if there is a way to just have the middle console fan permanently up. It looks like a feature that has a high probability of failing. Going to go get this car around July so I am doing as much research and test driving on it as possible before I put the down payment on it. So far the reliability is something that I can live with, it's not as bad as I imagined.
Love how you talk about every car having issues. As a german it gets on my nerves when people claim german cars are more reliable than british or american. I drive an f-type for 6 years now and it does not have more issues than the german cars I had. Old german cars used to be reliable, but that was maybe we are talking 20-30 years ago. Times have changed. After watching the video, this may be one of the best well worded car videos I have seen out there and I watch like maybe 6 a day. Great job
Thank you very much Hans, very much appreciated. I also agree, while there are some occasional issues, I have owned an n54 powered BMW 335, currently also own an E60 M5, and have owned numerous 911s over the years and can say that this has been better than most of those for dependability.
VW, BMW and mercs are unreliable and over priced ,and the paint work is 💩 they were better built and more reliable in the 90s. Nowadays car manufacturers are more interested in packing as much pointless technology in cars as they can at the expense of quality and reliability.. look at the pointless button handbrake for one. Why?
Hi Mark, love your videos. They are so informative. I am actually getting the new F-Type 2022 P450 next year and I am trying to decide if those wheels (satin gray alloy + forged carbon fiber) would look good with Indus Silver car color with black exterior package, carbon fiber mirrors and black/red interior. I know that this is a personal choice but your opinion would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!
Firstly, great choice on the new car and they are amazing in every way. Oddly I see people selling the blade wheels to replace with other options which I am not sure why as I think they are the nicest wheels for these cars. Also, regarding Carbon Bibre, if I bought my car new, I would check every box for Carbon options. I love the look.
@@markholubetz I agree with you Mark. I think the reason why some people are selling them is because they feel like the light satin gray diamond turned finish in older wheels does not match their black package exterior. I guess Jaguar jumped on this one and for 2022 model they changed it to dark satin gray instead. Some people are just too picky and don't know what to do with their lives so they invent problems. You know how it is. I totally agree with you that they are the best looking wheels..and also the most expensive ones. I really appreciate your insight. I so look forward to my new F-Type next year. Keep up the great work with these vlogs!
I know this is an older video but the used prices on these V-8 models are so so low. I'd ideally buy it as a GT car but I've always heavily modded my cars for track duty. Does this car have any modding support, tuning and af parts to improve on deficiencies from factory (aka the elsd from getting too hot, etc etc)? Or this car has zero to no af support and it's just what I buy....?
Yes there is some aftermarket support and it’s not uncommon for folks to tune to 650 ponies. So r of the weaknesses are also addressed in the aftermarket line the I infamous Y pipe
Squeaks and rattles - they’ll happen. Do you think, as cool as it may be, that you could leave the center vents permanently raised? Leave them raised when they finally fail that is. Thanks for the video!
Cool idea and I also found that if you use the defrost function.it pumps the heat through the wind shield. ents and gives you heat but keeps the dash vent down and reduces the up and down
I worried about that becoming an issues as soon as I got my car. My dad was in the automotive industry as a mechanic (before OBD’s were a thing and you had to actually diagnose a problem…) for 50 years and instilled in me the principle of, “The more electronic gadgets, the more things that goes wrong.” As such, I went into settings and set my vents to permanently down.
Ok, let's go. I'm an owner of a 2017 F-Type S, 50K kilometers. 1) Scratched door windows --- check 2) Clicks and squeaks under the windshield for the first 10-15 minutes when it's below minus 10C --- check 3) Non-responsive door handles (you pull it, it doesn't trigger the door open) when it's below minus 10C. Same for being inside. --- check 4) Shitty flimsy moldings --- check 5) Shitty xenon headlights and sound system --- check (I know, it's by design) 6) Slightly different color / structure / reflectivity of metal window frames right from the start! (LOL). Can be easily visible from specific angles --- check 7) Another funny stuff - when there's no more water anymore, the pump can try to get it from tank for minutes sometimes, won't shut up. Happens not too often, but annoys a lot. --- check Still I love the beast
Haha, for sure you have many of the same issues I have found. I know that stereo comes and goes with speakers that sounds like they are blown at one point and the. Perfect the next. Leaks, squeeks, but no other car in this class worth more than these
Hi Mark, looking at picking up a 2017 F-Type R. Your videos have been very helpful. Did you add those orange stripes on the front lip and rear diffuser?
The air vent is a cheap fix just a brittle plastic part that ends up cracking. I'm sure theirs DIY videos online And that diff has alot of torque going to it. People should be changing out their fluid everyn30k miles. Also an easy DIY service. Those injectors are expensive. Most likely a pain to fix yourself
Mark - how is the supercharger lubricated? We had a supercharged Mini that had its own lubricant reservoir that most people ignored. I know they’re not the same, and yet they are (high end manufacturers making performance models).
my f type leaked on the passengers side and the car keeps over heating and pushing the coolant tank cap off. I put coolant in it and it drove fine for a day and then the same thing happened the coolant tank cap shot off and smoke everywhere? do you think it could be the thermostat??? pleasee help out
I would get it fixed right away, you do not want to overheat that engine. That could be thermostat or more likely a water pump but without doing diagnostics, its hard to say for sure.
@@markholubetz Thank you for your reply Mark, I haven’t drove it since the last time it happened. I’m getting A new thermostat and housing tomorrow along with coolant temp sensor. I’m going to install those tomorrow and then bleed out the coolant system and see what happens.
That’s hard to say, I think 60000 miles becomes a risk unless a person is ready to start putting out some extra dough for repairs. I would get into one with under 30000 miles IMHO. These engines can probably run a lot of miles if taken care of, but there is a lot of potential issues from differentials, electrics, injectors, superchargers, water and fuel pumps. Not that they are unreliable but any high performance car with high miles will need love.
@@markholubetz ok thank I'm not getting into a weekend car for awhile so I might just go with a 370z nismo and drop a lot money into it like some nice ass wheels, bags, the works but still keep an open mind on other cars thank you!!!
for sure Steven. The Sounds are amazing with this exhaust especially as a stock setup. BTW how has your. BMW. been lately? Have you been shopping around ?
@@markholubetz I had one thing come up; as I was coming down the freeway, my screen said "Malfunction, Reduced Power. Didn't feel any different, and when I got off the freeway, it went away. What could that be?
Hard to say but do you have the n54 (twin turbo) or the n55(single)? My n54 had numerous reduced power issues and I believe it was related to not making boost target and largely due to boost leaks until I fixed it.
Hi Mark, I am thinking of getting a type R @ 550hp, Do you think it is too much car? Thank you for the video by the way, I appreciate that you get to the daily nitty gritty stuff.
I had an appointment earlier, I arrive with my vehicle (jaguar f type) and I found myself stuck in the cabin like an idiot, impossible to open the door! I looked fine! Luckily I'm young and not very thick, I managed to get out through the passenger door by removing my shoes and climbing the central tunnel, otherwise I'd still be in it right now. Anyway, I don't know what's wrong, the lock stays on "closed padlock" (except on the passenger side) whatever I do. Do you ever know that someone has a lead... I'll put it there!
Yesterday as I was driving out of the safeway I saw an F-Type R drive away..... The moment I saw this video I recognized the nature to be Alberta....later your number plate confirmed it. My question is.......is this the same F-type I saw driving Yesterday in Chestermere?
I loved the car but the weird metal pieces in the rear where rusting and havjng always owned lexus or Toyota I chickend out and got an is500. The jag was beautiful and sounded amazing but Toyota and lexus just never let me down and are so reliable and hind their value. Beautiful car either way
Thanks for the comment, and Lexus is a great brand so you can't go wrong there. As far as the rusted metal parts, thats really only limited to those cross braces as the rest of the car is aluminum, plastic, and carbon bits so it will never rot. Those parts are easy to replace or refinish so its quite minor, but its just worth mentioning and the rest of the car is reasonably reliable, all things considered.
@@markholubetz I'm in northern Ontario so salt is bassically my life for 5 months. Everyhting about the car was a treat to drive, the sound was amazing. The lc500 interior was nicer but not quite as fun to drive as the jag. Plus the jags you can pick up for some crazy good prices as well. And it's just a hell of a great looking car
True and its a real concern. For me I ensured that I had a CPO warranty for awhile and I think 2 or 3 years with warranty should give me a pretty good feel for its overall issues and reliability.
Can you please check something for me? Lower the windows and then press and hold the lock key button. My key, locks the car but doesn’t place the windows up... Thanks
I have rented a 2019 570S Spyder and a Jag F-sport convertible, each for 24 hours. The Jag is more of a GT car - very good handling, comfortable, and exceptionally quiet. The 570 was a beast with shocking acceleration and gravity defying handling. The seats in it were not good for runs of more than 20 minutes - too hard and not enough lumbar support, but my guess is that they were the base seats. The 570S
I've had 5 Audi and never had any problems. A4,A5,S5 and RS5 . Just wondering what you had going on. Watching the issues with the Jag explaining the body issues described as uneven and such makes me wonder why buy anything that tainted for the price? FWI, I have a 2013 R and she is perfect
Sounds like you got one that was disked in. The fitment issues sounds quite common to many owners and I suspect I am not alone. Either way, the drive and sounds are so great I overlook some of these problems.
I almost bought one that is a convertible but the top wasnt working and a quick search on the forum told me it's a nightmare repair process... I stepped away.
@@nemesisc4926 another thing to mention Lexus gave me extended warranty till 2021 September for my 08 ISF dash and door panels if this would happen in future. Mine were fine. I doubt any other manufacturer will do that for a 12 year old car. People literally melted there panels themselves and got new interior worth 7k USD for free abusing this recall.
Rented one for a week and two things: the window wouldn’t roll down on my driver side half the time. Also, it would sporadically lose stiffness in the wheel/front wheels. Really weird feeling

Great vid, Sir.
thank you. very much. Great choice as these cars are ridiculously good.
Great video, appreciate the honesty and telling it like it is without the doom and gloom. Beautiful car!
Glad you liked it! Exactly, these cars are awesome, just gotta know a few of the possible glitches, but amazing either way.
It is BS. GREAT CARS
I am on my third f-type r it’s my daily driver. The absolute best road car to drive with very few issues.
They really are great cars, right? Not sure why naysayers chirp. These cars are awesome. Thanks for sharing.
@@markholubetz I enjoy mine everyday thank you for your channel and commitment s
The Jag brand will always have issues as do Land Rover ... my 2015 F TYPE fronts vents come up when they please and I am due to take it in to JAG soon to have them fixed. I can push them down and they raise but don`t go down themselves. But what a fun car to drive.....
Sometimes when heater is on this can happen depending on the temp but trying the defrost mode only may change it.
So the issues are: the turn signals work, rocks can scratch it, the supercharger turns off with the engine, and the exaust is loud.
lol, well that makes me sound silly. Cheers
2016 R Coupe AWD, 59 kkm, daily driver.
Non of this issues!
Hello from Germany.
hi there, thanks for commenting. I also daily mine and so far, so good. cheers
Many love them, but perfect, they are not for reliability. Awesome and I never regretted a moment.
I also love the shaved door handles so that can stay.
i love the sound...i don't wanna cry over electric cars....i need to buy one ftype for sure
Absolutely, great choice
I drive a 3L v6 supercharged F Pace now (mapped to stage 1). Really love it and drives almost like a sport sedan. My next or second car would be an F Type. What a beautiful car! Thanks for sharing your experience, really helpful.
Couldn't agree more! you are very welcome and thanks a lot for watching. I was also looking at the F Pace and they are wonderful SUVs for sure
I agree, the German build quality seems to be a bit more of something in the past from my experience.
I have a 2017 F-Pace Prestige other than a couple of the creeks and squeaks from the leather NO issues at all.
Sounds like a great run and these modern Jags don’t get the credit for being relatively solid. No worse than many others from Germany or Italy
Great job on the video and loved the simple solution on closing the hood properly!
Thanks! 👍Much appreciated
I have a jaguar xe , 150 miles drive daily with 90,000 miles put on it , surprisingly I have no issues at all to report.
Thats great to hear and I had one on loan for a while and found it did not miss a beat either. Great cars.
Awesome video! Just found a nice 2017 SVR, gave lots of things to look at. Anything that you would recommend to look at when checking out a used F-type?
Great stuff, yes I will share a video on that very topic
The bumper looks repaired and the color hue slightly uneven . That can also be reason why it’s unaligned with hood.
No accident history on this car and hue is fine in person. This is actually quite common.
Very much appreciate the insight and your advice. Great work. Thank you for the time you spent. Best to you.
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate that
Nice video. I have an MY19 2.0. I get a bit of moisture in headlights and one light has smudged chrome, switch for interior light has blown and jag logo has half broken off floor mat. That said it’s extremely fun to drive and women are smiling at me everywhere lol
they are great driving cars and attracts attention for sure
Great review. I also have a Jag, the XFRS, and she's a keeper, regardless of any issues. Just fix 'em and get on with enjoying your ride!
I agree, these cars are great fun to drive and very unique, so it just some now seems worth it.
Right😂
Best video by far
Other video complains about trunk size
Thanks buddy for pointing out all cars have their problems, some guy ragging on jag " there so unreliable " in the comment section, while waiting for BMW/ Ford etc to come out of the shop, if I were to buy a car tomorrow it would be an XE, I've considered lots of others but its the XE all in black......so cool.
Absolutely, great cars to drive, I spent some time behind the wheel of an XE recently and enjoyed it. Fun , quick, cozy and very attractive.
They are wonderful to drive for sure.
@@markholubetz hell yeah bro; 11 months of owning it; has been a NIGHTMARE, my water pump blew up and the cheap plastic water pipes went with it;

@@frankferruccio8564 it was $2,300 but that wasn’t thru the dealership
@@Noah_Boschh sheesh I was thinking about getting one. Any suggestions or comments?
Mark, you should get a Jaguar XK second-generation (x150). These cars are really beautiful and drive great.
You bet they are quite a beautiful machine. Very nice. I would like to take one for a drive for sure to see. Not many around here.
@@markholubetz Yeah. You have to take your time and find a good one.
Beautiful car . I love Jaguars 👍Thanks for the great videos.
Thanks for watching!
Whatever helps with your content dude. I've never had a missed heartbeat with mine.
That’s fair. Either way, still loving my F Type and would certainly do it all over again
Very good report. Unfortunately, there was too much camera shake. I had to look away to avoid getting dizzy. Maybe use a tripod next time.
Sorry about that, I know looking at changing something up here.
thank you so much for this wonderful video man, i will buy a Jaguar F-Type instead of a Porsche Cayman.....that was my doubt.
Both great choices but yes, I bought the F Type R over a new 911 and I love Porsches, so that’s saying something.
Why?
This car is just beauty but not only this car but all jaguars are just sexy
There is definitely something about them.
Great information. Appreciate it!
Absolutely. Thanks fornwatching
I bought my F Type 4 years ago and have not experienced any of these problems. I must admit, it’s not my daily drive.
They are also not as unreliable as some people think they are
I know this is an older video but the used prices on these V-8 models are so so low.
@Mark Holubetz do you mind I follow up and ask what companies provide af support. Google hasn't been as helpful as I'd imagine.
1) Scratched door windows --- check
2) Clicks and squeaks under the windshield for the first 10-15 minutes when it's below minus 10C --- check
3) Non-responsive door handles (you pull it, it doesn't trigger the door open) when it's below minus 10C. Same for being inside. --- check
4) Shitty flimsy moldings --- check
5) Shitty xenon headlights and sound system --- check (I know, it's by design)
6) Slightly different color / structure / reflectivity of metal window frames right from the start! (LOL). Can be easily visible from specific angles --- check
7) Another funny stuff - when there's no more water anymore, the pump can try to get it from tank for minutes sometimes, won't shut up. Happens not too often, but annoys a lot. --- check
Still I love the beast
Haha, for sure you have many of the same issues I have found. I know that stereo comes and goes with speakers that sounds like they are blown at one point and the. Perfect the next. Leaks, squeeks, but no other car in this class worth more than these
Nice Video, thx for the summary
Thanks for watching
Hi Mark, looking at picking up a 2017 F-Type R. Your videos have been very helpful. Did you add those orange stripes on the front lip and rear diffuser?
Hi Clayton, great choice on the car, they are a blast. The stripes were done by me for sure and only took a couple of hours.
The air vent is a cheap fix just a brittle plastic part that ends up cracking. I'm sure theirs DIY videos online
And that diff has alot of torque going to it. People should be changing out their fluid everyn30k miles. Also an easy DIY service.
Those injectors are expensive. Most likely a pain to fix yourself
Definitely thanks for sharing. Much appreciated. that is inspiring. cheers
Mark - how is the supercharger lubricated? We had a supercharged Mini that had its own lubricant reservoir that most people ignored. I know they’re not the same, and yet they are (high end manufacturers making performance models).
It does use a separately sourced oil form which you can buy a kit to do it oneself too, albeit not super easy.
my f type leaked on the passengers side and the car keeps over heating and pushing the coolant tank cap off.
I own an F type S from 2016, zero problems 🤙
Sounds like a good run for sure
I bought my 2015 F-Type from Carmax....with a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty. No problems so far.
Nice, what color? Didi you go coupe or convertible?
When buying one of these cars used how many miles is to many miles?
And this would not be a daily car this would be a weekend/show car so it'd be driven maybe 3 or 4 times a month
That air went is a really cool amenity. The exhaust note is an absolute beast 💪
for sure Steven.
@@markholubetz N55 twin scroll

Hi Mark, I am thinking of getting a type R @ 550hp, Do you think it is too much car? Thank you for the video by the way, I appreciate that you get to the daily nitty gritty stuff.
Hi, I would say it’s about right, and while they are fast, they are also civilized so it’s definitely the engine setup if the budget allows
That's an odd one. Never really heard of that other than if its frozen or lock electrics. I will check into more of this.

My question is.......is this the same F-type I saw driving Yesterday in Chestermere?
Sweet, which Safeway were you at? Thats always fun to catch up with locals in the Edmonton area. I was not in Chestermere though.
Beautiful car Mark, thanks for sharing !!!
Thanks Scott, much appreciated. I have added one more to the collection today and am featuring it on the channel right away.
i have the 400sprt i love it ...... but this video is 100% accurate
These cars are still amazing and I would buy another in a heart beat
How much does it cost to have worked on
huge bucks unfortunately
@@markholubetzthats what I'm afraid of. I think that's where they really make there money , same part just different logo
True and its a real concern. For me I ensured that I had a CPO warranty for awhile and I think 2 or 3 years with warranty should give me a pretty good feel for its overall issues and reliability.
I really like this car but can I keep it loud without the crackle popping sound? Or will I have to have a new exhaust installed to remove it?
I believe the only real way to remove this burble is in a tune because the software does this.
Omg! That sound is what the F-type is all about and why I fell in love with mine and had to have one.
Wow you want to remove what gives this car its beautiful sound?
@@ericperry72 i just want the option to turn it off. It is nice but could get annoying after awhile.

I can check
Cool will Thea's APL to the UK model?
yes
And i still want one so badly.
Sounds pretty expensive to have mechanics move your vent up and down for you, how much do you have to pay them?
Haha, nice
I read where some differential leak problems are a blocked relief valve on the top of the differential
that seems to be a potential issue as the temps rises it over pressures a seal if the vent is covered
Stuck fuel injectors, and to a lesser extent brittle plastic cooling hoses are well documented failures on these cars.
true, water pumps, overflow expansion tanks and lids can be a problem.
Nice video Mark. I enjoyed it as usual. Keep them coming.
Thanks, will do! Your support is also much appreciated. Have an awesome. day Kevin.
The only upgrade from a Jaguar IS a McLaren!😎You right about that cause I was thinking the same thing. We must have the same taste in cars
I agree, they are both amazing machines and not much like them. Cheers. Which Mclaren were you thinking about?
I have rented a 2019 570S Spyder and a Jag F-sport convertible, each for 24 hours. The Jag is more of a GT car - very good handling, comfortable, and exceptionally quiet. The 570 was a beast with shocking acceleration and gravity defying handling. The seats in it were not good for runs of more than 20 minutes - too hard and not enough lumbar support, but my guess is that they were the base seats.
The 570S
You need to get that to the track 😉
I hear ya Chris. I am just not sure how the beast would hold up.
