My problem is that my mic is completely not showing up on my computer not anywhere not in inputs or even if i check the boxes for disconnected and disabled devices
My issue was that my microphone was picking up sound (as showed in settings->system -> sound -> input) but none of my apps (voice recording app) are receiving any input. This is how i fixed my problem: setting -> system -> sound -> advanced sound settings -> reset to default.
Help please none of this worked im using a headset microphone but windows thinks its just headphones only and when i plug in a separate like headphone think with a mic in it and it works it makes me talk into the hearing part of the headphones i can only use microphones when i plug a xbox controller into my pc.

The sound control panel worked. I had to massively increase the levels and gain yet "headset mic" or other 'lav mic" still sounds garbage. Does that I mean I have to buy a Blue yeti?! xD
I have two audio jacks on my PC, one is for the mic and the other is for the speakers/headphones, but my headset only has one audio jack, that means it can only use the mic or the headphones at once, how do I fix this?
I have an USB mic fifine k678 which I used to record videos. I tried pretty much all the troubleshooting like disabling and uninstalling the device. I tried to connect it to another laptop and it still doesn't work. I also tried it with my iPhone with an adapter like I used to use it in the past and it doesn't work. I thought it might be the cable but the MIC has a green light which shows that is powered on so the cable should be fine. Also, if I click on properties in the device manager, I get the following message in the status tab "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) A request for the USB device descriptor failed." Has anyone got a clue what could be the problem?
Weird issue. When doing voice over stuff on audacity, I can sit and wait for how ever long I want and my mic is completely silence and it doesn’t pick any sound before speaking. But as soon as I’ve started speaking and stopped, on the audio monitor says the mic is picking up minus -90 sound, so low rumble and looking at a plot spectrum it’s pick up sound 300 to 1000 hertz. But the audio before that has nothing in the spectrum and the audio monitor show’s absolutely nothing, but when I listen to the audio where my mic is supposedly active, I’m not picking up any audible background noise by ear. So my first thought it’s an issue with audacity, but when I use another editor I get the same thing. I use Krisp audio silence software and even when that’s active it’s the same, but when I turn it off the sound is always present, so I know that it’s not that coz the sound is only picked up after I’ve initially started speaking and not before unless krisp is deactivated. So basically the mic isn’t shutting off after of stopped speaking but remains off until I’ve done so Ideas?
I dont even know if this stuff helped but it somehow very randomly started working again after months of trying and geting no results so thanks i think

Hello , I have a mic 3.5mm jack with 4 rings on connector , when it's connected to cell phone it works when connected to laptop (Acer) nothing , I followed your instructions thoroughly , I suspect it could be my unit . Good Video Thanks
My microphone stopped working yesterday and I searched everywhere on the internet and even called someone to see if they can repair my microphone but they told me that it was something to do with settings inside my pc. I've been searching for hours and still cant find a solution, its just different videos with the same steps and solutions.
what does it mean when it tells me it doesn’t work because a metered connection? my mic turns on and everything but it doesn’t detect it nor does it detect it on inputs and i’ve tried every possible way to do this but nothing has worked for me at all :/
@@thecryptonic8584 I managed to figure it out! If ur plugging it straight into your computer don’t use your inserts like the ones you put your keyboard into but use the usb insert on the side of your computer there should be one on a pc aswell :)
Good tutorial. Thanks. I have a hardware issue. I can get my headset (including microphone) to work, but only when I unplug my speakers and plug in the headset instead. There are 4 3.5mm connections on my graphics card, a green one, a pink one, a blue one and a orange one. Till now, I just had my speakers plugged into the green one, but when I plug the headset splitter in, I need the pink and the green one and have no place for the speaker plug anymore. I tried using the blue one for the speaker, but it doesn't work. Is this just a shortcoming of my graphics card (1080 Ti) and other cards have two green connections, or am I doing something wrong?
I use a laptop. My issue is that the mic of my headphones wont work. Instead laptop's own mic only works which causes alot of disruption to the person i am talking to... While headphones mic is just listed as not plugged in while it is plugged... I can hear the sound through my headphones but mic wont work and this started happening a couple days before... So when I go to the menu that tells you how loud your mic is, it's at full green bars. This is the same case with anything, the software will tell me my mic is always being as loud as possible but not picking it up. And when it does, it sounds like a robot and cuts out again. Could someone help please?

A windows update caused my mic problem, and windows won't let me roll it back. I've tried every solution and nothing has fixed it
