- Do you want to know how to fix your microphone not working on your windows 10 computer??? In this video, I will show you how to fix your mic with 5 easy steps and more! Plus, I will show you how to test your microphone to see if it is working. Make sure your apps do have permission to use your mic on your computer otherwise it won't work! Like with skype! If Skype doesn't have permission, your mic won't work!
Also, make sure all microphone drivers are update! Like the Realtek audio drivers! If your mic or headset or speakers don't show up under device manager, scan for new hardware. If they still don't show up, there could be a connection issue with your computer and the device. Plug the device into a different audio port or usb port.

I fixed the problem just check your xlr cable might be a broken wire or a poor soldering job

@@MigzAztig21 I have the same problem, but my cable is fine. I can test my mic in control panel, but when I turn off the test it turns silent again and it seems like it won't pick up

@@Ryan-ww4ci mines worked now the problem was probably with my Jack I was using TRRS while my usb sound adapter uses TRS now I fixed it
How did you enable it for the desktop apps on the bottom where it said that it would not work with them, like obs, or chrome?

Thanks for your interesting video. I have an issue with my USB Condenser mic which I can hear it is working. But my laptop is connected to UHF wireless microphone receiver to the two speakers and I can't hear my voice coming out to my speakers. Wish you could help.

hello, I recently bought a no-brand BM820 microphone from and I have an Asus Vivobook S15 S531FL laptop and I plugged it into one of my USB 2.0 ports, it currently is powered on because I can see the mute button glowing blue for on and red for mute, I did multiple tutorials on RUclips and failed every single time, rolling back and reinstalling drivers, fidgeting with the control panel and device manager, etc.

I was sooo skeptical as nothing had worked before. I just sat slumped after DAYS of trying to fix my 3 mics. All three were working just fine days ago and then suddenly, after finishing a facebook chat, they all stopped working ONLY on virtual chat and chrome sites like zoom, voice recorders online, etc. The mics still worked on my laptop voice reorder so I knew it wasn't a hardware issue.
I tried the literal first step of going to the settings and turning "allow desktop apps to access your microphone" and they all suddenly could use the mic! I never even knew this place existed! Why would the computer change this setting! Is this a normal thing to happen? I almost threw my mics away thinking they were the cause somehow.

Hi! I followed all of your instructions. Windows is saying that the device is working properly. But in the sound control panel>recording list, there is a red arrow beside the external microphone and it says "unplugged". My usb port is working fine, the mic light is on showing that it is plugged. I don't understand why it says "unplugged". It isn't recording anything!
My laptop detects my mic, was working but w/an echo. I solved that issue only for it to spring up again and then it ultimately died. Will any of these methods fix it?

plz help. I have a "XO lavalier mic". When i plug it into my pc it gets detected but is not taking any input. When i try to test voice in discord or sound recorder only "static type jittery" sound is heard in the recording. I have checked the drivers and chosen it as the correct input device but nothing seems to work. It it my "mic jack" ?

Still not working, speakers are fine. It was all working, quit about two weeks ago after updates. Unable to go back, did a reset and that didn't help either, just created a lot of work. I really need this to work, any other resources?

Hi, my Windows 10 laptop is not detecting my HypeMic microphone. I used it last week with no issues, but now when I plug in my mic, it won’t detect the mic. Any help please?
Dell Laptop , windows 10... Blue yetti is installed and working through the laptop usb port. However when the mike is plugged in, the audio dies. Have checked settings, they are correct for mike default, and speaker default. Why is the Mike killing the sound?
