How do you fix we can't find a microphone? Good old Windows 10 messing with my audio again, Windows 10 has been plagued with audio problems, well at least for me anyway. So this is a pretty simple fix when Microphone Doesn't Work on Windows 10. The main problem for me was microphone not showing up in Recording Devices, so Windows 10 was not detecting me microphone.

Nothing but problems with Windows 10 and Audio or is it just me?

I think half the problem with windows 10 is that its set up to use about any hardware without its oem driver witch seems to cause issues frequently.

Not just you. I think a first grader set up the audio for Windows 10.
What do i do if my microphone isnt showing up on the sound controll panel
my question is: How do i choose a driver? i have a Mackie XLR soundbox with a microphone that does not get any input data, although i can choose it in my PC settings, where do i find the driver for it? or maybe even a better one?
One year later and this video is a life savior.
My internal mic on Windows 10 just completely disappeared. It doesn't show up anywhere, and it was working fine for years until today.

Cheers, I found multiple devices with the same ID once I showed the hidden items. I removed them and rebooted. Worked a treat, thanks

This is great advice provided that the device manager listing for the microphone matches the branding on the headset. All I have are strings of gibberish in the device manager and none of them seems to be mappable 1:1 with the headset mic.

so uh my mic is a ZINGYOU-007 and im not even sure if there are drivers and i had it working lastnight but unplugged it to move it now it isnt working
Thanks my friend! I've been messing with my microphone not working, I tried to use phone's microphone on PC too. And the final easy peasy fix was to just let the the microphone be accessed with that privacy setting bruh. Thank you a lot!
Can you help me please? I've bought really cheap yenkee microphone and it is not showing on my computer. I tried to reinstall the drivers but nothing shows up, i tried teamspeak/discord for testing and also windows tools for listening to mic but nothing works. I'm kinda desperate. Do you got any advice please?

I used the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 from 2015 to 2019 and i also had this problem. I already had a driver problem with the Focusrite using Windows 7. Then i switched to Windows 10 and also to the Steinberg UR22 MK2 - no problems anymore! The Steinberg / Yamaha Driver is for whatever reason far more stable than the Focusrite driver!
At 04:40 I do not see 'Focusrite USB Audio?' On my new desktop I can hear but my mic will not work, from either the front Audio or pink port on the back?

Britec, every method unfortunately didn't work for me. my earphone speaker is working fine except the microphone. The microphone works on all other devices.

I have a problem, I bought a new external mic for my laptop, but when I plug it in it doesn't appear at all in the sounds tab. It just shows the internal mic. What do I do?

win 10 1909 update strikes again my problems is my speaker outputs quit working and my gskill keyboard just stops getting recognized and i have to reset it's on board bios to make it work i only wish my audio jacks would work with a driver or bios update or a fresh install of windows but it failed.

exactly! every time on windows 7 updates would automatically install and detect the devices. But windows 10 is absolut shite
I remember ages ago around a few months after windows 10 came out some folks were saying it was bad. I was just thinking it can't be that bad. After finally getting it myself now. I see that they were right, and I am confused how a multi million dollar company messed up this badly.

I have a Blue Yeti Pro, Windows 10. I didn't pay attention but I installed a driver for older version of windows thus not allowing the system to recognize the microphone. I followed your "delete" driver and disconnected Mic, plugged back in and Windows 10 recognized it on its own now it works fine~ Thanks for the tips, I couldn't have found the driver without your video! what if I don't know what my driver is because I don't have focusrite
my problem was that it was disabled for some reason so all i had to do was go into extra sounds setting at the very bottom of the sounds page and go to recording and enable my microphone
can you recommend a good youtube recorder or downloader please for win 10, cheers
try obs or streamlabs they both work even if you have a low end pc. The settings might be difficult at first but watch some tutorials and you’ll get use to ‘em and have clean quality on any pc.
strange i went into my settings and usb forusrite doesn't even show up but I have everything else???

Its because his microphone needs a driver to work and probably its another problem for your microphone.

Hey, does anybody know what to when it says "Not plugged in" ? I tried pretty much everything, from going through the settings to reinstalling drivers and uninstalling latest updates, still nothing. I’m somewhat lost atm.

So i connected a microphone and a headset to my laptop , the headset gets recognized but the mic doesn't and it uses the laptop mic instead, some people say that a trss to trs would work but im not sure. Does anyone know how can i fix this?

Hi Bri - didn't fix mine but went through it anyway, tried the MDTechvideos fix - which was to set the Windows Audio Services x 2 - from Local System to a Local Service - short sweet simple as it fixed BOTH the Audio & Mic. I went on vacation for 4 days and my mic worked, but now its not showing uip although its plugged in and everything, none of these fixxes helped cause i didnt have a focusrite whatever

Just fixed my problem, my pc wasnt even recognizing the mic in the headset so it was using the "under the water" mic thats built into my laptop. If you get Realtek Hd Manager thing and get it running correctly, you can unplug your headset and plug it back, there it will ask you "what did you just plug in" and its set on "headphone" for default, so choose headset and it should change over. This is how it worked for me, hopefully it helps someone else too ;)

Also what helped me, was to downland programs which update/boost drivers and update the audio driver.

my problem with my mic is just that i lost the port or jack which is the thing ur suppose to connect it at the pc (not monitor)
I tried this and it says my driver is completely up-to-date. sad part is it did this with my old mic, replaced it and not 1 week later it's already saying it's not picking it up just like my old one. This is very frustrating and this video didn't really help.

I just attached a 3.5mm TRRS femate to TRS male adapter cable, plugged it in to my laptop, Windows 10 immediately recognized my mic, and it's working fine.

Great video but I have no clue what happened to my mic and can't fix it. It won't even show up on my device manager. It all started when I downloaded voicemod to my pc which is a audio and voice changer software. I was having issues with my mic reconnecting so I wiped voicemod off my computer and my mic has a light that is on and is plugged into my computer, but it won't show up anywhere on my computer.

@@iicey3102 I made a restore point and just went there. It fixed the problem. I didn't know what voodoos I did to disable the mic.
There is microphone that shows up on the pc even when don’t use it and it’s app where takes over your pc and just listen to me and puts up random stuff.
