Thank you so much!!! I spent about 5 hours trying to figure out what my mic issues were. I finally discovered the Voice Recorder in windows so that I could figure out that my mic volume was too low. I didn't have the boost options, so once I downloaded the equalizer and went through those steps everything worked like a dream!
All this time, I thought I couldnt do anything about it and thought I had to get a new mic and cable and everything but apparently not lol. This helped sooooooooooooooo much thank you.

People, this really works! I spent hours and thought I didn't do anything and succeed, but I ran into this and finally found a solution. Thank you! Tip: you dont have to choose -3.00 dB, I raised it to +28 dB.

I knew it worked fine when using it with my phone, but I tried two different setups on my pc that it very low sound (usb headset mic and headphone jack) so I knew it had to be something in the system. This not only save me $$ but also the headache of finding out it wasn't the mic after all. (the opensource APO did the trick)
Thanks mate the second trick worked perfectly for Razer Kraken TE & mic quality sounds perfect too. LEDs are dead on the little USB controller which I guess handles the mic amplification... Missing the good days with split audio & mic cords 😅
My mic on my new headset sounds very quiet when using it's usb connector, I couldn't figure out how to boost it when on live so I had to change to the 3.5mm connector which function perfectly and has the mic boost options in the Sound Properties in order to be audible to other people when doing online meetings. Thanks a lot for this tip!

This program has helped so far. My mic was working before but suddenly had no volume for some reason, the mic booster was also missing from windows settings. Now I can freely adjust it in real time.
This is exactly what I needed, the equalizer is what I needed as my mic is already low in output, and using the windows booster wasn't enough. Used equalizer APO, bumped it up to 16.00 dB and it's perfect. People can hear me much better now.

How do you increase your mic volume without increasing gain? For my mic (samson q2u) I only see one "microphone" option in the Levels tab but, if I increase that slider too much (like 85+), it gets staticy, loses bassness, quality goes down. However if I bring that slider down, the quality is better, the bass is there, but the I sound too low. So how can I maintain that good sound quality while also increasing the mic volume?

I did not need to go to the installation folder to get access to the editor shortcut, it was already in the startup menu under Editor APO. I did not even have to change the level to -3 I just pressed the preamp button and it boosted my mic without changing the gain level. Thanks for this.

Okay my solution was to uninstall Nvidia voice rtx (it was removing noise from the microphone but instead it was removing all the voice ) and now everything works fine ^^
Because of your video, my sanity has been saved and I have stopped screaming obscenities at my Blue Snowball microphone. There are hundreds of useless videos that failed to provide a real solution. Bravo!
Thanks. I have an old Astro A50 headset that's no longer officially supported. For some reason the mic has been extremely low volume for awhile now, which I'm guessing happened with a Windows update. Anyway, the software you recommended worked perfectly.
Why does my mic boost only go up to 10db?? I swear before it went to a max of 30, i use realtek drivers I tried reinstalling the drivers, unchecking the stuff, enabling/disabling mic enhancements Im actually so tired about fixing all these glitches, i didnt sign up for these
