I bought the C1 a few months ago and it's a cool ship. It's my daily driver until the MK II ES comes out. I bought the ES because even when CIG rebalances all ships. I don't think there will be anything tankier than an ES at it's size, 4 medium shields, large fuel and quantum fuel tanks, 2 medium fuel intakes, 2 S4 fixed weapons, S3 turret and 8 S2 missiles. The ES was built for Pyro, but I still love the C1.
@@ViciDeum Thank you and I'm looking forward to your review of the ES. Also I'm waiting on your review of the Drake Rambler I just bought on Dec14. Keep up the good work.
Its crazy how much better those darker paintings make that ship look like. Didn't like the style at all first but after applying the painting it just looks gorgeous.
As a C1 pilot I'd recommend swapping out the guns for repeaters and upgrading the power plant, shields, and cooler whenever you get the chance. I can handle HRTS and VHRTS without too much trouble after upgrades. I do think if you have pretty much 0 interest in hauling cargo the Cutlass is still the way to go, that can change with the updated flight model coming in but its hard to pass up on the extra firepower and smaller silhouette.
For srug smuggling its great, or to pick up a load of gold ....its not bad. Go to scd01 grab 40-50 scu and then take it to A18 -- then hit lyria grab beryl take back to crusader
I was worried for it when the Zeus was announced, but once CIG said that all other ships would be getting a rebalance after the Zeus was released, it reassured me.
I like your rundown. I got the E1 and A1 but have only applied the E1's CCUs up to the C1 until the E1 is ready to fly. I've enjoyed flying it. And with the Olympia on the C1 and Crimson on the A1, the Spirit is a gorgeous ship.
Man I love my C1. I upgraded my Cutlass Black to this and while the Cutlass was a good ship, this is so much nicer. Also 64SCU! :) BTW, did you guys notice the fuelhatch at the bottom of the ship that you can open up? I never heard of any plans about manually fueling your ship. Would it be something like dragging a fuelhose and connecting it to your ship?
Refueling will be a big part of travel once the new systems come into play. And it's coming soon since 3 new Star systems are being developed right now. So ships like the Starfarer are going to play a big role and will need a place to stick the nozzle in. Lol

I spent the most time at the IAE Constantly comparing the C1 against other ships. I know I was going to Buy one more because I haven't supported the project in a few years, and I had it down between the C1 and the Nomad, not because of specs but design, what Did I want to fly around as a Daily Flyer, All my other ships from over the years are multi crew or combat oriented, I wanted something to just fool around in, do random stuff as the mood stuck me, and (Im going to be Blasphemous here for some Citizen's ears.......) I just don't Care for Drake. I don't like that Cheap bare bones feel that is Drakes style. I know the Black Preforms, Its just not me. It fly's nice, but Its well its Drake. Conversely, I cant Stand Origin Ships for the Exact Opposite Reason. It reminds me of putting fresh paint and gold trim on a turd! They handle like Bricks, trying to get to the bridge of most of the multi crews is like solving a maze, Though the Reclaimer is just as guilty of that last comment......... Origin ships are all looks and no performance. Slow pirate magnets if you ask me, though Im sure most Drake Players love Origin's........... Designs........ The Star Runner was actually on my plate as a potential "DD" But Its more reliant on at lest one more crew mate for turret use and I wanted something with more ease of solo, and the long trip from Cab to exit Hurt its possession on my line up. Besides I have a Connie, and she is still voted better then the Star Runner by most citizens. and I can get out the door MUCH faster then the runner can. Now back to that Nomad, After MULTIPLE attempts at giving the poor thing a chance,. I REALLY like how it looks, It just has no performance, The Cargo bed NEVER gets on the ground, the Hover Quad that goes with it Refuses to load into said bed, Its a struggle to get it to land on anything that is not perfectly flat (ironic considering it hovers in place) and of course Its HARD to control, IF your not manually controlling the thrust at all times near objects its gona strike HARD, then blow up. like I took of from the Garage and forgot about the tram rails, clipped them, and Blew up, I took it to Port Tessler, TWICE. was going WAY to fast and couldn't slow down in time BOOM, Tried landing In the Port BOOM. after one very last attempt to give it a try thinking it was just me, I tried one last time before I made my decision on buying the C1. BOOM~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So Im now the proud owner of a C1 and a Tumbral cyclone. I ever did my first ever delivery mission with it. Man what a treat, she flys like a plane in atmosphere, and zips about in space and with a Run from one side of Micro tech to nearly the other, 400km flight took about 10 minutes, followed by a quick quantum jump to one of the moons. then I flew back to Port Tessler before I logged off for the night, Only used 25% of my hydrogen supply and barley touched the quantum..... Im happy with my choice!

@@ViciDeum My only complaint about it right now is the ramp, and its just something CIG needs to come back and make a solution for, not for just the C1 but for all the ships exits. And that's if you Land on any uneven ground, and that's almost every outpost...... the Ramp either will not fully reach the ground, or lifts the ship up off its landing gear, and in 2 separate cases...... killed me. First with a bug that i fell threw the ramp while it was doing its "bounce the ship around" dance bug. and the second time it bounced the entire ship up in a wind storm outside "Buds Growery" I was tossed from the ship and "died" while the ship decided to fall through the planet........... If you judge the C1 properly it's actually one of the worst ships you can own in its class. It's a medium freight and should be judged with that in mind. The regular freelancer, the freelancer max, and the Zeus are all better options. The C1 is closer to the MSR in terms of size which is a large ship then it is to a freelancer max which just barely missed the mark for being a small ship. Both of those carry about double what the C1 can hold. The only logical argument anyone can make for using a C1 over any of the other 3 options is that the C1 looks good.
