I also was an original kickstarter with the Connie Andromeda package. Although I've gotten quite a few more ships over the years, I still love the Connie. One night I was playing one of the early PU versions when my 6 year old son walked in as I was walking to the Connie at a Port Olisar pad. "Wow! Dad! That's a space ship!" I still, to this day, think about the wonder in his voice when I break out the Connie. It may not be sexy but its look just evokes "spaceship." I'll never melt it.
I have the Avenger Titan, it's a wonderfully beautiful ship, but when the Zeus comes out I will melt it in an instant. If you want a space ship looking ship, the Zeus is the ultimate one for that.
I was dead broke during the OG crowd funding campaign, but I snatched up the Aurora LX package a few months later. But my heart belonged to the Connie. Something about that ship speaks to my geeky sci-fi soul. Three years later my amazing wife bought me the CCU from the Aurora LX to the Connie. Its still my favorite ship. Now, if CIG could fix that dang strut...
I love the Taurus. My friends and I multicrewed it many times, especially when I was teaching different game mechanics. That was even before the tractor beam feature was implemented. I love the looks and cargo space. I never once missed or regret not having a snub.
Also team Taurus. Hands down the best variant in my opinion. The utility of the tractor beam more than makes up for one less pew pew turret and the snub is bugged most of the time anyway. I'm daily driving a Corsair right now, but my beloved "Decade Duck" will never get melted.
I wouldn't be surprised if they go the 'Hornet route' and rather than give it a Gold Pass, give us a new Marked version and more aggressive revisions once they have the RSI style more finalized, after the Polaris/Persius/etcetera. I'd still keep my current Andromeda, but this could address many issues that have come up smoothly.
@@ABrutalAnimal yeah and if they could bring in some of the Zeus styling but keep the Connie size it might be a “shut up and take my money” moment for me
This has been a discussion going around our org last couple of weeks, a 3 man ship(pilot and two turret gunners) that can fit a Nursa. Best we came up with was the -Connie -Corsair -MSR -Valkyrie we Landed on the Corsair as the Connie has been in our fleet for some time and its interior was beginning to feel very dated. But we all agreed if either the Valkyrie or the MSR had better Pilot guns then we would have chosen either of them over the Corsair. loved the video Mate no other youtuber has helped me out more in this game than yourself, keep up the great work!
The Star Citizen video that really made me fell in love with all the possibilities in this game was exactly the one with the Constellation Aquila. That feeling of arriving on an uncharted planet to seek out what's out there is simply gorgeous for a person who loves si-fi and space things. Despite of having other ships, my daily driver is also the Andromeda with the Nursa when I need to bring it. Most of the time I play solo, unfortunately, cause all the people that I used to play don't show up anymore, so the Connie is my cozy everyday home for my adventures. Even it being in a desperate need of rework we don't even know if it's going to come someday, this ship looks like a real spaceship with lots of game loops with a strong resemblance of the Enterprise from Star Trek, specially if you look it from behind. I truly hope it can handle itself in Pyro with a fuel balance CIG said will do on all ships.
I happen to also love the ROC DS as well. I originally dismissed it as did everyone, but it's actually substantially better, even for solo mining, than the standard ROC.
@@prometheanrm5979 pretty much the thoughts I outlined in the mining section - more power = less movement around the cluster (you usually just park in one spot and hit all), laser had a much better field of view & better HUD, and not that it makes much difference but you do have more capacity.
@@prometheanrm5979Yep, as Loud Guns stated - more power, more distance, wider angular range, so faster mining by a fair margin. Also, you get the benefit of the protected drive seat while in transit. The DS also seems more stable when you're mining.
Good Stuff, as usual! Thanks for another great installment, brother! This is my favorite ship. I got bit by the same trailer. Love it with the Nursa! I do wish the snub worked like it did back during 3.17. It hasn’t worked since then. The ship deserves love!
Man, I just flew this one. And the Constellation is a beast! I went for a bounty and took down the target with an escort, oh my! (Ares with C1). The ship has everything: 4x M7A cannons, cargo space, a medical bay with respawn capability, a small ship for quick trips, beds, and airlocks for space operations... Damn!
The Taurus was my first big ship in star citizen, i had the cutter (which is actually a ship i use on a daily basis still) then the cutlass black, then the taurus. It was certainly a 'wow' factor when stepping into the hangar the first time i pulled it out. I have currently found the Freelancer Max being the go-to ship of choice for nearly every game loop in SC. With the exception of bounty hunting which I only do on occasion. Reminds me of the Y wing (sort of) and has served my cargo hauling, roc mining and bunker running perfectly. It's quick and if a buddy wants to play, we have a turret (although awful overall). Hoping for a reduction in seats and a remote turret added and moved where the docking collar is. Watching this video has certainly made me look at my current fleet and want to consolidate it into 3 Connie's and call it a day lol. As I've had all 4 variants in game all this time. Great video and all the subs are much deserved. Your videos have made my daily commute, workday, and content time a relaxing and fun experience. Keep it up! o7
I've always liked the idea of being stuck with one ship. That tends to get you to think a little bit more big picture and really come up with a plan. That said my preferable daily driver that's available today is probably the Corsair. However I look forward to the Aquila variant when that day comes.
How come the Corsair? I backed it early and loved everything about it, but since it's such a buggy piece of s*** I never really used it. Total waste of so much hard work by the designers, in my opinion... I'd have melted it a year ago if it didn't have so much discount on it... What am I missing?
The commercial for the Constellation is what drew me into Star Citizen back in 2014. I finally pledged a Connie Phoenix Emerald recently and got a really good look at the ship and there's something I just can't get out of my head.. No designer worth his salt would still be in the business after designing the Phoenix with this glaring, massive mistake.... The Phoenix has no VIP/luxury RESTROOM!!! It has a bloody useless hot tub, but no restroom?? What do all the VIP's lounging around do when they're on their 4th martini and need to take a piss? Are they seriously supposed to go into the crew quarters and use the outhouse-looking restroom? There's no way you'd ever get them onboard that ship again after that. What they should do with the gold pass is remove the hot tub (which a good ship engineer would never allow anyway with the weight of water) and replace it with a good-sized VIP washroom & something more fitting the rest of the VIP area, like a card table, piano, etc. I seriously don't know how this got by CIG in the first place. This ship had to go through tons of people's approvals before being flight ready. How did none of them think of this before???
@@thierrybo6304 1) You're wrong, they are actually working on that. 2) You're completely missing the point. These ships aren't designed like they're in a game. This is a space SIM. It's designed to be as lifelike as possible. That's why there IS a restroom on the Connie, just not a VIP restroom. (unless you count the non-functional hot tub) The simple fact remains, it was a huge oversight & one that shouldn't exist. Not considering the design of all their other ships.
I love my Corsair its really a jack of all trades and my favorite part is I can solo it just fine and bring others along if I want. I always wanted a ship I could live out of and stop at a station as little as possible. The Connie might beat it but the design is what wins me over. Still I fondly remember playing for the first time in 2016 and always being awestruck at the size of the Connie. It was that crazy big ship that everyone wanted and was scared to fight. Good times.
Connie was the first moderately big ship I saw when I got into the game and loved it instantly. Personally its a bit dated to me now and I think the Corsair is the better daily for me
I fell in love with the Aquila after that one trailer with the scientists landing on the planet, then again after the sandworm trailer. Unfortunately I fell out of love because I love the Aquila as an Explorer but I wish it had the extra cargo space of the taurus instead of the snub since you have to choose to either bring back your treasure or your ursa in the Aquila. It also has persisting bugs with the MFD stuff and the tendency to dip nose down on landing annoys me more than it should.
While I do have a Connie Andromeda available to me My Daily driver is still going to be the Freelancer MAX for this patch. It's a Great little ship. Just like the Connie it is versatile well armed and now with the Freelancer Shield buff in place, quite tanky. But a bit more compact by comparison. It's 120SCU cargo capacity isn't just a great number on paper, it's actual hold is quite spacious. It is very easy to fit an Ursa-Type vehicle in the back, plus another smaller vehicle. I have fond memories being the Freelancer pilot in a small ROC mining operation with a pair of ROCs. Buzzing between them and scanning for deposits.
I am a huge fan of the Connie but the Taurus will always be my first pick. The extra cargo makes all the difference, being able to put the Nursa and a couple 2scu containers and still have room to stack any rare loot box I find is pretty awesome.
First of all: nice video! I really like the Constellation series and content about it! I was hoping on a wider look at the other variants of the series, as this is mostly about the Andromeda. Some differences in the series variants overview that I think are interesting: The Taurus not only trades the snub place for more cargo, but for scan-proof cargo. Also, it has a double-size cargo lift resulting in roughly double the cargo space in comparison to the other variants. It is also really good at holding multiple ROCs, so one can fly and search gems while two ROCs can collect them. The missile advantage of the Andromeda above the Taurus is only in the 28 s1 missiles in the exterior arms, above the Phoenix/Emerald in the 24 s2 internal missiles. The Phoenix (and the green Emerald version) has one big flaw, and that is the toilet. I have yet to find restrooms for the luxury passengers...
My first ship was the Connie package, xmas 2013. I was kind of wondering if I spent way too much on a "digital asset", but I did want to support the game. I thought that, right up until I walked in it for the first time, and realized the work they put into it already and the fact they weren't done. And that's when I fell in love with this game. I felt like I was in my own space ship. Like it was my own Millenium Falcon, for me and my friends.
I can't live without a Taurus or an Andromeda. In a hostile outpost, the two airlocks are useful with a good sniper rifle. A few months ago I installed a Big Bennys vending machine at the cockpit entrance. Very classy :)
I love my Taurus because I can get on and off quickly, it carries 4x 32 SCU containers (iirc) | URSA | 2x ROC | etc, it's tanky, reasonable in PvE combat and can land most places thanks to the landing struts being concentrated at the rear. If CIG don't fix the strut situation soon, though, I'm going to get in there with a cutting torch and some Space Bostik. And it would be nice if the many brightly lit MFDs came with dimmer switches; I swear I'm getting real life sunburn from all the UV rays they must pump out. What with the struts and the MFDs it's almost impossible to see outside... !
@@khale8770 Disagree, these struts make it look tough and mean. The Carrack's all glass cockpit looks silly and like it would break to mild wind alone... No way anyone in the bridge of a Carrack survives a crash. That being said, the Aquila cockpit is definitely better than the other variants.
Even though I have a pretty diverse fleet of specialty ships, I still love my Connie Andro. My first ship after my starter was a Cutty Black. I did basically all of the game loops of cargo, mining, and some some unsuccessful bounty hunting. I bought the Connie Andro primarily for cargo runs (Agricium for 40K per run) and it became my primary ship for Bounty hunting even though I have an Arrow and a Titan. The Connie has become more treasured since I acquired a Mole and need to carry up to 96 SCU of refined ore. While it’s not my “daily driver,” that title has always belonged to my Titan or Cutty Black, you might notice they are all fine multirole ships. The Connie Andro is an absolute beast when you trade out the size 1 missiles for size 1 Arrow missiles.
Beautiful video, for imho the best ship out there :) As an org. Kickstarter starting with the Connie Andromeda as my 2nd. Pledge, with now many ships in my Hangar, such as a i.e. Carrack, and Concierges High Admiral status, the Connie would be my goto ship, If I had to choose to only keep one. Great for solo, awesome for group play, and yes with the recent addition of the MediVac, it even serves as a respwan point. (we see for how long that will last).
I love this ship, some one picked me up in it when i was playing the free weekend. If this games ever ready to be played without all the bugs thats the ship i want
Out of the Constellation series the Taurus would have been my choice as well. Larger cargo grid allows for some lighter trading/looting and possibly carrying a fury (snub)/ground vehicle at the same time without having to trade between one or the other. However, for other currently flyable ships, I would look at the Freelancer Max under the cheaper options and the Corsair and the MSR on the higher price points. Good multicrew potentials with a lot of solo possibilities as well.
I think if I could actually just have one I might we’ll make it the Taurus. I did enjoy the extra firepower and missiles but it’s not a huge difference
that was a remarkable video. I really liked the concept, as well as the footage and content. Yes, I really love the Connies, and had an Aquila for the longest time while waiting for my Corsair. I think I will eventually buy a Phoenix, because it is a MUST to have a Connie in your lineup. and it checkmarks. both Connie AND luxury. I have often said that by the time game releases it is likely to be a matter of "you can buy ANY ship in the game," As opposed to "you can buy ALL the ships in the game." I am planning to start the game in my MSR. While not quite the battleship that the Connie is, it's faster, has more cargo space. is a little more versatile in what vehicle can be carried. I also think that, given the limitations of the speed of light, banking, government, private correspondence, and other interstellar communications will be dependent on data being "pony expressed" between Star systems. so an MSR can load up those computers with "data as cargo" and boost it's cargo trading career with data hauling. we have no Idea how much cash bonus that will be, but I think "18 extra SCU (over the Connie) plus data = $$$"
I absolutely love the Connie. If I could go back from my Concierge days I would absolutely go with the Connie only! Probably Aquila since I love the idea of exploration.
They are going to have to either rework the connie or do something about the current weapons because if the andromeda takes 4 to man all the turrets you're gonna lose your snub pilot or a gunner to engineering. Heck depending on how bad the situation you might lose more turrets gunners to engineering. If not you're looking at 6-7 crew and you don't have enough beds so yeah it's going to be interesting what the rework looks like...if it even gets a rework.
I would love to see you revisit the jack of all trades topic when we get more ships with modularity. I could see the RSI galaxy replacing the Connie or maybe a Connie MK II ❤
In fact, the Constellation series is already in its MK4 format. It would be a MK5. As for the Galaxy, the only think I do not like about it is that there ain't gonna be pilot controlled guns. You are just, well...the pilot.
I rented one a while back and I have to say I need some dev love should be at the top of the list for gold standard and that's coming from a Corsair captain
Having both a Taurus and a Corsair in my hangar, I struggle to decide between the two. The Corsair doesn't have nearly as much room on its grid and the wings can be an issue, but it handles a little better.
And with an Ursa Medivac it becomes a great ship for bunkers as well. This is incredible. If we get a Greycat salvage vehicle it might do salvage as well.
Connie is my favourite ship in that size/class but the snub docking is almost always broken and cargo lift is always buggy in some way especially now that ground vehicles bounce continuously for no reason.
I absolutely love my Connie Taurus. As an avid miner and cargo hauler, it does not disappoint in getting my refined materials to at TDD. It also does just about anything else I want to do such as ROC mining or cargo hauling Laranite. The only thing that is really keeping the Connie series from the peak is the lack of modern CIG stuff. It's in desperate need of a rework, especially with its living quarters.
Yeah, thats why the Andromeda and the Corsair are my favourite ships. Soloable but room for a group. That's also why I thought the Nursa was such a good addition. Makes both ships much better for FPS missions as well. When it finally comes out I might take a look at the 600i reworked.
It's worth noting that the Aquila comes with an Ursa Rover too. So you can take $50 off the total price to get the "actual" value of the ship. Its still more expensive and less useful (at the moment) than the other two varriants. But not as bad as it first appears.
True, I did get my Aquila due to this BUT the price difference doesn't stack up ,which, at the time I didn't think about. The Andromeda comes with the Kruger Merlin and when you add the ursa the cost is $25 less than the Aquila bundle that comes with both when the Aquila has that useless scanner it kind of sours the deal. The current scanner is NOT worth the extra $25 nor do i think it ever will be.
At first I did everything by myself and with an Avenger Titan, later upgraded to a Cutty Black, but now I have a specialized ship for pretty much every role, except (base) building and science. Although I'm tempted to get an upgrade to a Pioneer once they're back on the store, so who knows
Players want to be in proximity to one another, no one wants to feel isolated away at the end of a ship. It's the difference between playing together, and playing parallel to one another. I've noticed the newer ships are starting to address this. Might be a good topic for a future video.
I agree with this 100%. I do love missile boats though but I only spend 30% of my gameplay actually doing bounties etc wheee as I can hold 2 rocs or medivac and roc plus cargo in the Taurus
With the price difference to the Corsair, imho you go wrong no matter if you choose the Taurus OR the Andromeda. Drake just offers a much better value and the better ship.
I love the way the connie looks and I used it when I first got in the game after mining QT refined and it was the connie that I rented to take the good to market saving up for a MSR lol which back then was $5 mil , I dont spend a lot of time in SC just a quick 2 - 3 hours here and there, so it took some time to save up. but then a server wipe came so I got pack that had the MSR, Phoenix, 400i and 600i LOL , this was my slippery slope I started just get a fighter = sabre and a the prospector , but then the need to transport the cargo . All down hill from there LOL. I would say if it wasnt for the server wipes I may not have gone down that rout. the down side of testing a game and not waiting for it to be finished. but on the upside Ive helped CIG make the game / games I want I just hope it ends up the way I will like it to be
My issue with the Connie line is the same as all other ships with elevators. They just aren't reliable. Stuff falls through them way too often. And then there's the visibility out front....
Yeah I've always said If I had to pick just one ship to play SC with it would be a Connie. As it is I have a load of other ships in my pledge fleet and no connie but.. I always earn one in game and use it all the time :D
And meanwhile the Corsair sings that one little song: Corsair: Anything you can do, I can do better. I can do anything better than you. Conni: No you can't. Corsair: Yes, I can. Conni: No, you can't. Corsair: Yes, I can. Conni: No, you can't. Corsair: Yes, I can, Yes, I can! Conn: Anything you can be, I can be greater. Sooner or later I'm greater than you.
Great ship although I cant say I used it much, I only ever used my Avenger Titan for the past 2 or 3 years of playing. Fun doing bunkers and bounties then the money goes straight back into the ship and guns.
I still have my original Kickstarter physical items Constellation Phoenix game package in my fleet. I use it less than the Taurus but I still fly it often.
The Taurus can carry a Fury, a Nursa or a Roc. You can load 2 of these vehicles at the same time. When going for full flexibility, the Taurus is the way to go! Whenever you don’t need the vehicles/snub, you got more cargo available.
I do believe the med bed spawning is a mechanic test bed(pardon the pun). With death if a spaceman and more modular medical ships coming into the game (Galaxy, Apollo, maybe a Catapiller?) the need for CIG it iterate the player base use and functioning will help CIG to tailor where medical gameplay is going. Without the tier three testing all you had for options were two top tier ships, something vary limiting to the use of ship medbed respawning. And medical gameplay was for the most part at point of contact with a med gun, any fast ship will do to get you on site for that. Now more use for responders going into histile areas for rescues with a local respawn point so if they go down the client is not waiting another 10-20 minutes for you to come back.
only issue I have with andromeda is that it is not able of fuel scoop that's why I prefer taurus + it feel like the hand tractor beam wont be able use to move big boxes eventually so the in build one can be handy as hell
Thanks for the video! I'm a new player and ultimately one this ship as my end goal. I find salvage to be very boring but my starter titan can't farm HRT yet haha. Is there another game loop any can recommend on top of salvage ? I just bought the vulture.
Mining is far more involved than salvage, as you need to constantly tweak the laser so it doesn’t blow up. And the profit is not linear per hour like salvage, it depends on where you mine and what you’re able to find and break with your laser.
Connie is definitely well designed for all this, but I hate landing it anywhere that doesn't have a pad. I'd probably use a freelancer max for this type of gameplay. I wish I could use my DUR, but the cargo space won't fit vehicles very well, and the hover bikes that do fit aren't suited to driving up to a bunker, since they'll get attacked by turrets when ground vehicles won't. Oh well, the DUR will be well suited to Pyro when we get there later this year!
I wish they would consider making the constellarions modular between the secure cargo hold and the snub fighter. Though would be concerned at this point of us getting constellation mk II’s
Love the connie, unfortunately in the latest patch PVE bounties seem to constantly ram into me...had the same problem with the corsair last patch, now it seems reversed.
Except they nerfed the HP pools of C grade components, so your Crossfield will die in pretty much any battle where your shield goes down. Believe me, experienced it myself. Even if your ship survive, with a heavily damaged or downright broken QT drive, you are out of luck xD Either it will take as long to get from a moon to its planet as going from Crusader to Microtech, or you won't be able to QT at all.
My takeaway after about 2 years of game play and flying every ship available, the Connie’s are the best all around ships. And now that we got the Nursa, it’s even better! If I could only have 1 ship, it’d be a Connie Taurus!
I think I’d probably agree with you. I think I partially went andromeda because of the potential for the full crew with space combat, but if I had to pick one I’d most likely go Taurus.
@@LoudGuns If I’m with a crew, I’d definitely go with the andromeda. My favorite thing about the Taurus is that you can use it from full wipe to VHRT’s and still run meaningful cargo and not feel like you need another ship. I love em all though I’m not really a fan of the view out of the Aquila, I prefer the standard view.
I love the connie still and want it to be a daily, but I have 2 ships that can fit that. For a larger ship I have the Mercury Star Runner. Man, after flying that the first time I honestly fell in love... I think Crusader just speaks to me better, idk. If I want something a little small but not sacrificing too much Ihave the C1 Spirit, which I majorly prefer over my old cutty. I do have my eye on the Zeus. I'm not sure if it's a direct competitor, but it seems to fall in the connie's back yard (and both RSI).
@PogBot-fc2cs gold pass means that the ship gets a little rework in and out. Textures may look better, weapon balancing might be changed for the better, component access will be added, internal lights and buttons for said lights and doors rather than just aiming at doors. Better internal design like no airlocks in habitation units lol. Things like that. Just bringing ship up to current standards and addressing issues in and out.
Somebody said that they wouldn't do anymore major reworks on ships and that the Connie might just lose its struts and that's it I'm sorry Connie brothers but knowing how cig is I don't think we're getting that captains quarters. They want to keep that "old ship" feel. But I was just told this so we might be able to keep on hoping
It wasn't that they just increased the prices of the ships. That made sense for the larger vessels. Its the fact that they made sure to significantly decrease mission payouts and narrow avenues to money at the same time that looks super shady.
I ❤ my Taurus ... The Connies are the only med/largish ships, that feels like it has a real bridge and not just a cockpit . Will CIG make a Mk II or rework the old ship ?
I’m almost certain it will take the normal ROC (in fact I’d reckon even the ES will). Probably when they come the Zeus’ are likely to take my daily driver slot.
I'm still torn between the Corsair (which I currently own in the web hangar), the Andromeda (owned ingame), and the Taurus. I really wonder how engineering gameplay will affect all these ships. Hell, I might just end up not bothering with any of them, and be happy in a Cutty Black.
I'd pick the Taurus over the two others, because I play mostly solo and value cargo space and tractor beam. Plus it can (or at least will be able to) smuggle without worrying about cops.
CIG always stayed in really old information, like the Endeavor concept, that medical beds would be distance based. And as much as I'd like to agree with you on the change to the beds makes medical gameplay less useful, the reality is that medical gameplay is a ticket to disappointment without any real reputation consequences. After getting jumped literally three times in one week trying to do rescues, I quit and melted my medical ships. Its a low paying high risk so game loop, that is so easily stopped and ruined by other players it's not worth it. As a result of these experiences, the Nursa seems like all positive to me.
From my perspective we have dedicated medical rescue channels in our org that have been a constant source of good jobs for our members who like that sort of thing. Just seems a bit of a shame from that angle.
The woes of having to trust randoms in a game where nothing really matters currently. We all will have to deal with people like that till reputation and death start to actually habe long term consequences. For now id advise anyone doing jobs that rely on trust to keep a little list of those that have proven not to be trustworthy.
I've been trying to find out if the snub ships trigger missile defense systems. Like if you're hacking a comm array? Right now I load an x1 into my Corsair then fly the x1 to the comm array. If I could just hop in the snub ship instead that would be epic
on paper I love this thing as it serves everything I've ever needed, a blend between the python (og) and corvette as far as "it can do it all" for ship referene from ED. I just really really hate it's cockpit (lack of) clear visability. I'd love idk any excuse to just give me a clear round window. Heck wouldn't mind if alien week gave me a slightly alien upp'd connie to get that cool stitched screens the shrikes and similar has. Until it's got a better view from the chair, it's the ship I oggle at when doing bounties and not much more~
I also was an original kickstarter with the Connie Andromeda package.
Yeah I’m very similar with my original Cutty Black pledge, was the first ship I got in and thought “damn this is awesome”.
The Connie is super great looking. I think my Connie Phoenix is one of the best looking ships in the game.
I have the Avenger Titan, it's a wonderfully beautiful ship, but when the Zeus comes out I will melt it in an instant. If you want a space ship looking ship, the Zeus is the ultimate one for that.
I got the Phoenix Emerald LTI I love it
I was dead broke during the OG crowd funding campaign, but I snatched up the Aurora LX package a few months later.
I'm daily driving a Corsair right now, but my beloved "Decade Duck" will never get melted.
proud and loving owner of a taurus too, it can just do anything you need it to :) definitely my most flown ship.
Absolutely love my Taurus as well. One pledge ship that I will never upgrade!
Space truckin’
I hate my Taurus, but CIG did delete my Corsair, so it has to do for now. :D
I was an OG backer back in the day with Connie Andromeda package with LTI. I still have it. I wish Chris would authorize a Gold Pass on the ship.
They would have to give it a front like the Carrack. Man, I hate those struts.
Hopefully overtime with newer RSI ships coming out like the Zeus and Polaris the Connie’s gold pass will be excellent.
@ElkanRaelist and in reality, a $15 upgrade to a distinctly better ship is fair for the amount of work the revision would take
@@ABrutalAnimal yeah and if they could bring in some of the Zeus styling but keep the Connie size it might be a “shut up and take my money” moment for me
This has been a discussion going around our org last couple of weeks, a 3 man ship(pilot and two turret gunners) that can fit a Nursa. Best we came up with was the
-Connie
-Corsair
-MSR
-Valkyrie
we Landed on the Corsair as the Connie has been in our fleet for some time and its interior was beginning to feel very dated. But we all agreed if either the Valkyrie or the MSR had better Pilot guns then we would have chosen either of them over the Corsair.
loved the video Mate no other youtuber has helped me out more in this game than yourself, keep up the great work!
The Corsair can fit the C8R too. So why drive when you can fly low in style instead? ;-)
@@Traumglanz Last I check the updated that away in 3.22 and 2.23 at least thats what i've been told. Something to do with how the ramp closes now
The Star Citizen video that really made me fell in love with all the possibilities in this game was exactly the one with the Constellation Aquila.
Thank you! 🙏 ROC-DS for life!
@@LoudGunshow so, what makes it better? I now run a Taurus with Nursa en ROC in the back.
I love my Connies! Love the Roc-DS too! Used back when everyone gave me a hard time about using it! 😁
ROC-DS Gang!!!
Damn!
Which has that?
Medbay ? No Connie has a Medbay
Keep it up!

The Aquila cockpit window is amazing
Uhm, this is just a game. I doubt they implement a "pee" gameplay ever.
(unless you count the non-functional hot tub)
The simple fact remains, it was a huge oversight & one that shouldn't exist. Not considering the design of all their other ships.
Yes I think the Connie could use a rework again.
@@thierrybo6304 You're entirely incorrect. Crew will need hygiene, food, and rest. As will the player.
My favorite all rounder is the Cutty Black tied with the MSR.
Thanks for your video. Thinking about getting a Taurus!
I really do enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much, Sir.
First of all: nice video! I really like the Constellation series and content about it!
I was hoping on a wider look at the other variants of the series, as this is mostly about the Andromeda.
Some differences in the series variants overview that I think are interesting:
The Taurus not only trades the snub place for more cargo, but for scan-proof cargo.
Exactly. Cockpit would be awesome with almost no Struts, like the Carrack
@@mikeonlinux5491 Fair Point.
Super useful and great oveview. Really enjoyed the video as usual.
Great Video. My favorite is the Taurus tho since i own it and i really like trading and just flying around.
I have often said that by the time game releases it is likely to be a matter of "you can buy ANY ship in the game," As opposed to "you can buy ALL the ships in the game."
I am planning to start the game in my MSR.
It may not be my favorite ship in its current iteration, but it is certainly an iconic one among the ships of the verse.
I want to agree with you in the All rounder front. But bro the 600i exp... an absolute monster.
I really do love the connie. I hope it gets some updates in a future pass. But it really does stand up much better than most old ships.
Thank you so much for recording in 21:9, its great for anyone watching on ultrawide!
Honestly after playing in UW I can’t go back 😂
I absolutely love my Connie Taurus.
This was super helpful to decide between one of these or the corsair.
What did you end up going with? I am in your exact situation right now..Corsair or Connie. Also what variant of Connie did you go with?
@@johnnymclemore8255i chose the corsair and CCU chained to it during invictus! Love it.
At first I did everything by myself and with an Avenger Titan, later upgraded to a Cutty Black, but now I have a specialized ship for pretty much every role, except (base) building and science. Although I'm tempted to get an upgrade to a Pioneer once they're back on the store, so who knows
great videos. thank you for that
Players want to be in proximity to one another, no one wants to feel isolated away at the end of a ship. It's the difference between playing together, and playing parallel to one another. I've noticed the newer ships are starting to address this. Might be a good topic for a future video.
You can't go wrong with either the Taurus or andromeda. For solo players I would give the edge to the Taurus.
@@Traumglanz Are you referring to the Drake Corsair?
Love my Aquila. Kills me so much of it cannot be used but I hope one day it reaches it's potential
You can replace the bottom turret tractor beam on the Taurus with guns now.
This ship grew on me over the years. It's due for an overhaul, but just a great all-arounder.
It definitely needs a pass to bring that interior up to date!
Yeah i bought the Andromeda and the DS so used it for ground mining, works well
I always find myself flying around in fighters. Even though it’s hardly a money maker
I would say if it wasnt for the server wipes I may not have gone down that rout. the down side of testing a game and not waiting for it to be finished. but on the upside Ive helped CIG make the game / games I want I just hope it ends up the way I will like it to be
8:10 nice Full Metal Jacket reference!
Awesome film! 🍿
My issue with the Connie line is the same as all other ships with elevators. They just aren't reliable. Stuff falls through them way too often. And then there's the visibility out front....
I love my Taurus so this video was great!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah I've always said If I had to pick just one ship to play SC with it would be a Connie. As it is I have a load of other ships in my pledge fleet and no connie but.. I always earn one in game and use it all the time :D
And meanwhile the Corsair sings that one little song:
Corsair: Anything you can do, I can do better.
I've always loved the Connie. I sold my Aquila to get a larger ship. I'm thinking of re-buying - I miss it.
Great ship although I cant say I used it much, I only ever used my Avenger Titan for the past 2 or 3 years of playing. Fun doing bunkers and bounties then the money goes straight back into the ship and guns.
Totally agree, I'm a one ship person too. I currently have all three Zeus models, I'm going to pretend it's the same ship and it's modular
Most used ship. Hope it gets some rework love. Also the medical ursa combo is sooo good!!!!!!
Had been contemplating whether to activate my ccu to the Taurus. Think I am going to do it.
I still have my original Kickstarter physical items Constellation Phoenix game package in my fleet. I use it less than the Taurus but I still fly it often.
Constellation Taurus is where its at...lots of space for my ursa medical and more.
Yeah for everything up to the ship combat part I was thinking the Taurus would’ve been superior!
The Taurus can carry a Fury, a Nursa or a Roc. You can load 2 of these vehicles at the same time. When going for full flexibility, the Taurus is the way to go! Whenever you don’t need the vehicles/snub, you got more cargo available.
Putting the nursa in the Connie adds so much to the viability of a bunkers partner. This is true for all that fit the nursa though, right?
Yeah having got through the whole vid it was only the full crew in combat that didn’t make me think a Taurus could’ve been a better shout
Love the white heron paint! I prefer the taurus though.
Corsair FTW wooo
Connie is definitely well designed for all this, but I hate landing it anywhere that doesn't have a pad. I'd probably use a freelancer max for this type of gameplay. I wish I could use my DUR, but the cargo space won't fit vehicles very well, and the hover bikes that do fit aren't suited to driving up to a bunker, since they'll get attacked by turrets when ground vehicles won't. Oh well, the DUR will be well suited to Pyro when we get there later this year!
Love my Andromeda, especially since finally they fixed the bottom guns.
Still hope to get an interior rework soon.
XL-1 is fast but I'd suggest trying the crossfield instead. You won't sacrifice on speed and still get some more gigameters out of it
Except they nerfed the HP pools of C grade components, so your Crossfield will die in pretty much any battle where your shield goes down. Believe me, experienced it myself. Even if your ship survive, with a heavily damaged or downright broken QT drive, you are out of luck xD Either it will take as long to get from a moon to its planet as going from Crusader to Microtech, or you won't be able to QT at all.
This is the way. Connie Taurus (& ROC-DS) 🖖
The Nursa is in area 18 Astro shop already.
Oh really? That’s awesome!
💯 I'm running a Taurus with a medevac and ROC ✅ size two component salvage from downing one freelancer MIS = 32,000 Auec
I'm not sure if it's a direct competitor, but it seems to fall in the connie's back yard (and both RSI).
fun fact, the taurus with a fury in the hold still has 84 scu of storage available
Great vid
Connie is love, Connie is life
Connie Gang 4 Life!
Just so everyone knows, RSI is next on the goldpass, besides the Connie being Chris favorite ship, it will definetly get a rework🤙😉
Don't give me hope!
I just started getting back into Star Citizen a couple of days ago, so I'm out of the loop on stuff. What does "gold pass" mean?
Its the fact that they made sure to significantly decrease mission payouts and narrow avenues to money at the same time that looks super shady.
still love your intro
Great video, would you be willing to do a post Master Modes racing gameplay update?
I ❤ my Taurus ... The Connies are the only med/largish ships, that feels like it has a real bridge and not just a cockpit .
Will CIG make a Mk II or rework the old ship ?
Hadn’t even thought of a Mk2 as an option!
if the upcoming rsi zeus cl willfit a roc miner then that will be my daily driver
Plus it can (or at least will be able to) smuggle without worrying about cops.
is it possible to change Andromeda lower turrent and change it with Taurus Tractor Turret? :) or at least tractor itself
Andromeda was my first in game purchase... lol for all the same reasons...
I can't wait until the Phoenix gets PDCs.
I've been trying to find out if the snub ships trigger missile defense systems. Like if you're hacking a comm array? Right now I load an x1 into my Corsair then fly the x1 to the comm array. If I could just hop in the snub ship instead that would be epic
@@Un_Debunkable snubs will trigger as far as I know sorry!
on paper I love this thing as it serves everything I've ever needed, a blend between the python (og) and corvette as far as "it can do it all" for ship referene from ED. I just really really hate it's cockpit (lack of) clear visability. I'd love idk any excuse to just give me a clear round window. Heck wouldn't mind if alien week gave me a slightly alien upp'd connie to get that cool stitched screens the shrikes and similar has. Until it's got a better view from the chair, it's the ship I oggle at when doing bounties and not much more~
The Zeus series looks a lot cleaner so far, and once they’re done with that I really would like to see an upgraded Connie or a Mk2 version.
