2010 was my first year properly watching Auburn football at only the age of 6. I remember to this day him high fiving me in the tigerwalk against Clemson. Looking back now, my young self didn't quite comprehend what I was watching. I was watching a man single handedly take an 8-4 team to an undefeated national championship and make top college and NFL athletes look average. To this day it I say it is the greatest season I have ever witnessed as a quarterback.
@@heavyizthacrown-5842 the problem with Lamar Jackson is that he didn’t play anywhere near the competition that Burrow did. He also didn’t go undefeated and win a national championship while setting SEC records. People love to point out the weapons that Burrow had, and yes, that team was loaded. But we saw Jalen Hurts and CeeDee Lamb lose to him by a landslide. Tua, Jerry Jeudy, Jaylen Waddle, Henry Ruggs, Davante Smith, and Najee Harris couldn’t beat him either

@@eric3298nah, Marshall wasn't even in Cams league. I get why ppl do the comparison but it's just bc he was a runner and took AU to the NC game but Cam was levels above Nick.
I remembered this season well and I forgot how close that National Championship game was. That one still gotta hurt for Oregon fans although Auburn lost a close one since this to FSU and Oregon has lost several big games after this one.
Better than any season Tim Tebow ever had. Tebow could never. Florida was loaded with talent offensively and defensively. You see how his career turned out in the NFL. Single handedly the greatest season by a QB to date in college football. Considering every team they beat that season. The comeback from being down 24-0 in the Iron Bowl game is the reason Cam Newton currently has the best college season for a QB. Don't give me numbers. Give me results. He got it done.
The only player to get drafted from this Auburn squad other than Cam was Nick Fairly. A d-tackle who lasted just over five seasons in the NFL. Cam carried that entire program to a title. Maybe the greatest single-season QB performance in the history of college football.
There were 5 starters on the 2010 team that were drafted. 4 in the 2011 draft, 1 in the 2012 draft. There were also 2 younger guys that were in the 2-deep playing rotation who were drafted a few years later. One of them was a 1st rd pick, the other a 3rd rd pick. Then you have 5 other starters who signed free agent deals each after their respective NFL drafts. One of those, Josh Bynes, was a starter for 75 games over 11 seasons, which far exceeds what any NFL franchise expects to get out of an un-drafted FA. My point with is that people, especially bama and uga fans, try to say the roster was garbage except for Cam and Fairley. Which is ridiculous. They had numerous all-SEC players on that team. Any above-average QB could have put up a 10 win kind of season with that senior heavy squad.
For the brief time Cam was at UF, it's mind blowing how Urban Meyer had him 3rd on the depth chart behind John Brantley. It's just as bad as Dan Mullen keeping Kyle Trask behind Felipe Franks and it taking a season ending injury to Franks for Trask to eventually become a Heisman finalist.
The WR's and TE's put up good numbers in college. The offensive line did their job and had numerous all-SEC players. What the hell does the NFL have to do with any of that?
Grew up when cam was in college. Special player. Great season. Obviously the heisman winner… but my lord I never realized how he couldn’t read elite defenses and had a terrible throwing motion. And that’s play calling coaching and lack of talent you playing against.
