  • We show you in great detail how to install Harley-Davidson brand heated grips on your Harley. The heated grip kits are very universal and have not really changed since 2000. The only variation over the years is exactly where you tie the Harley heated grips into power. This video will work for 2000 and newer Harley's such as Street Glides, Road Glides, Ultra's, Dyna's, Softails, Sportster and more. Don't pay a mechanic to install these heated grips as you can do it yourself right in your own garage. No lifts, jacks, or specialty tools needed.

I recently installed HD Heated grips on my 2019 Road Glide Special and did it 100% from these videos. Had to view a couple of the updates to get the correct info for the Road Glide but it was pretty simple, and the update for inside wiring really works well. Took me about 1.5 hours start to finish and the vast majority of that was prepping the left grip and switch housing for internal wiring. Never even looked at Harley instructions. It was well worth the cost to purchase the video. My local Harley dealer here in CA quoted me $350 to install the heated grips.

Hello Ryan. So on my Softail, it already has the Willie G heated grips. However, sometimes they work, and sometimes they don’t. I have not dug into where they might tie in for power yet, but I wanted to know if I can be able to use the existing power wires for a set of heated Empire collection grips?. Would I have to rewire it, or do you think I’d be able to use the existing wires and just splice them?. Thank you sir.

I went to my local dealer and asked them how much it would cost me to have them install heated grips and they told me 4 hours labor. After watching John Maxwell install, I thought what a bunch of crap. Four hours labor? If you do what Maxwell does with the dog tag chain, shoelace and some electrical wire you can run the wiring in no time. Everything about my local dealership recently has become about massive labor charges. :/ They wanted 2 hours to install new tires on my bike recently and in total were talking over $800.00 for the total tire job. Seriously, I've decided I'm done with them after buying three bikes from them. (sigh) Anyhow keep up the good videos Ryan, you guys rock. • @RyanUrlacher

Based on our experience, this is not normal. The grip should be secured tightly by the control cluster.

The video is detailed, but too detailed for me and my 20 SGS with the grips that match OEM. I reviewed other videos and hoped that LAB might give me more insight. I had no intention of doing bars. Essentially I paid for too much extraneous info. If you are simply installing grips that feed through the bars and plug and play into the two oem plugs under the fairing, with no battery connection, this video is overkill. I wish you you had done a supplemental video addressing a more simple install.

You do a good job of pitching the product. So much so that I took the leap to pay $34.95 for the install video. However, no link appeared to actually download or view the video, yet my card issuer notified me that the $34.95 was charged. Nor did an email arrive with a link. Okay, I'll go to your website and see if I can get some assistance. Nope. All I can do is fill out a contact form and hope for the best. In the world of downloadable products with next to zero marginal cost for the next video sold, $34.95 is not cheap. Not trying to throw rocks as starting up a business is difficult. To solve a lot of this, you should force anyone looking to purchase to set up an account during the purchase process, with either a confirmation email or text verification being done BEFORE the card is charged. That way you eliminate any fat fingering and now the person, who you've verified is real, can log a ticket. So now I'll have to dispute the charge and go find another video to get this done tonight.

@@RyanUrlacher Actually, after the first attempt failed (for which a purchase confirmation was sent by the card issuer) I had to go to Gumroad, register there before attempting to purchase the video. Once the account was confirmed, I then searched on the Gumroad site for "Harley heated grips" then clicked on the cart icon to put it into the shopping cart. Then I was able to check out from there, reentering the card information. I did not see a second charge come through for $34.95 but did gain access to the videos. Thanks.
