Did you do a follow up video of the actual install. my Roadglide has an accesry switch maybe I could tape into that , would make things easier
I also purchased the accessory harness kit and installed it. Didn't need it either but I guess it's good to have for the heated seat in the future. Looking at the grips at the dealership, looks like all the collections that came out later in the lineup are coming internally wired and USA made. I remember the old ones were Mexico / China made. Seems to make a difference in the quality.

I installed these on my custom bob and I echo your frustration. Yes, you need the harness, and I had to get very creative (spelled destructive) to get them through my 1.25" bars. Now looking for a set for my Low ST. I''ll give the Kahunas a try. Thanks.
I fitted these, you simply cut a slot in the black disk on the grip and then feed it through the bars, cut the plugs off and use Wago connectors in headlight, there's always power somewhere in the light or fairing if it's a glide, running via the accessory fuse, sometimes you need to get away from this plug and play mentality and use your grey matter.

Could the Willie G grips be for cruisers?
Just watched this as my grips on my 2015 have failed somehow. Doc Harley reckoned the extra wiring kit was because of needing to push an extra 2.8 amps and not upset the bikes electronics. Before your vid I watched an install straight to the connections under the fairing as harley set up the 14 + streetglide specials that way. If I already have grips fitted I'm guessing I just replace them?, I like the black kahuna's also

I just installed the Kahuna heated grips on my 19 Street Glide plug and play. Took me about an hour.
Exactly. It's not to hard at all. I just dont get why all grips dont plug into the pre existing connectors lol
I’ve never seen any with the long wires like you showed. I’ve installed 3 sets and they’ve all been the same. Never a set of Willie G grips though.

The Documentation with the grips clearly states "NOT FOR USE WITH INTERNALLY WIRED BARS"
A little bit of reading is always cooler than taking a Dremel to your bike.
Thats weird. I ran the same set of grips on my Road King and all my wires went through the bars.
Wish I'd seen this a week ago, though I did end up going with the Kahuna, it would have made my decision much easier. I opted to just let the dealer do it before I took delivery. I think they look great, and like you I don't plan on carrying out the Kahuna theme throughout.
